Excellent trip for a long weekend! The hotel staff was helpful in getting us some extra toiletries, towels, and dishes when we ordered out. I usually stay at this location when I’m in town and brought some family up this time. We enjoyed our stay and had a great experience. We will be back in the spring!

The elevator from the parking garage to the lobby (parked on 3rd floor; lobby is on 7th) was slow. I came in late after dinner, and the elevator WOULDN’T WORK. I called the front desk twice and after about 15 minutes of being “trapped” in the parking garage at 11:30 pm, your desk employee came down on the elevator and picked me up to go to the lobby. This was a safety issue, and your equipment should work consistently. I don’t expect this from a nice hotel.

Positive: 1/2 block from Palace Theatre. Large nicely furnished and clean suites. Staff was very nice, even comping us free waters when we returned from the concert we attended. Negative: There is a general lack of exterior signage. We passed it twice, then finally figured it out by matching a Google Street view to the building. Equally unclear was where the parking garage entrance was. While there were several garages, none said garage for Capitol Suites guests. The hotel is marginally ADA accessible. Access to the elevator in the parking garage had a curb. The curb was short, but hard to see when exiting to the garage. I ended up falling and twisting my ankle because with wrangling the door and luggage, I didn't see it. It seems wheelchair users would have to enter from the front ground floor, but there is no pull-up or unloading area. No information on hotel amenities, where the ice machine is, or local nearby restaurants or attractions was handed out or available in the room. I don't know if theu provide room service.

We were stuck in an elevator for 35 minutes. Fire Dept had to respond to get us out. Hotel said they would comp my parking and I told them I had already paid for it and they told me I hadn’t. Also breakfast was suppose to be included and hotel stated that it wasn’t. Why am I paying for services thru your company and they are not being honored at the hotel????

No real complaints… the entrance from the street to the lobby is kinda confusing and cumbersome. Same from the parking garage to the lobby. The windows in the room were horribly dirty on the outside but there’s no real view of anything anyway. The property is dated and what not but overall it was ok.

The entire room was disgusting: black mold in the bathtub, ceiling was coming down in the bathroom shower, sticky carpet, tables were dusty and it seems never been cleaned and one garbage for the entire suite. Front desk staff were not friendly.

Just shy of $250 a night, Hilton should be embarrassed. The room smelled of musty mold. Shelves missing large gapping smelly area around fridge. Furniture chipped and trashy looking. Walls inside & outside of room marked up unkept. 1 small bottle of shampoo for your shower. No soap. Water was cold, never got warm. Only trash can was in bathroom. Our room was a sweet with a separate sitting area/kitchenette. We used a bag of our own for trash. Do not waste your money at this dump.

Room was dirty - it was if the cleaning staff had only half finished cleaning room. No linens provided and requests to provide linens were met with anger. I had to make my own bed. Sink would not drain. When maintenance came up, we had to switch rooms because a flood ensued. I called three times to ask for a late checkout - 2 weeks before our stay, at check-in and one day before check-in. We are told 3 times to ask morning of and it would be granted. We called at 6AM and they told us rudely that it would not be provided. We were told contradictory information about parking from each staff member we asked. This hotel is outdated and not worth the money we were charged. Please do not stay here - truly not worth the cost.

It was nice. The view from the room was beautiful. My only complaint is it wasn’t clean. On the surface things were clean but there were places that were dusty and the tables were greasy. Also there were things in our room that were broken prior to us entering the room. Nothing too concerning. Aside from the minor stuff, we had a lovely stay. Staff were kind and the food and drinks were very good.

Property was very unkept!! The bathroom was disgusting, mold around the ceiling and around surfaces, ceiling spackling was falling from the ceiling, wallpaper was coming off the walls. I Woke up and the sheets that were on the bed had stains on them, which was absolutely disgusting!

This is a rather old hotel, but it's in good condition, and it was very clean. Where I would urge some improvement - the HVAC/Air Conditioning. It was /very/ warm in our room when we came in, and we were able to cool it down to be more comfortable but if it had been hotter it would have been uncomfortable.

Requested my room to be cleaned early. They never showed up. No way to regulate room temperature whuch was stifling. Shut off my keys after one night while i was staying for 2 nights. Staff was very nice but hotel is a disaster and not cheap.

This hotel leaves much to be desired... Although it was pretty much clean, there were things that desperately needed to be fixed in our room - the lock on the door was hanging by one screw, lights were burnt out, the bathroom door wouldn't stay shut, the hand towel rack came clean off the wall, there were paint streaks on the mirror... Not to mention the broken elevator. I had called a few weeks prior to staying and asked for late checkout, I got told that they could make that happen for 2:00 PM and would note it in my reservation. At check-in, I was told, "If I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone." So, my friend and I had to check out at noon and wait until 8:00 PM for our flights. Fun. Was it an okay stay...? Sure... But we won't be staying again.

Very outdated, musty smell throughout the hotel. The bathroom tiles were broken. The toilet would keep running unless you constantly jiggled the handle. No air conditioning in the room. The temp got up to 80 degrees. Overall not absolutely terrible but could use a lot of improvements.

We paid for a city view and got an alley used as storage. We were so low that there was no view. If I had known that I wouldn't have paid extra for the view. Either way the windows were so dirty that you can barely see outside anyway. We didn't eat at the hotel because it was too expensive. Do not go off of the roompictures because it doesn't look like that. There was one chair at the table and a desk chair that broke without even sitting on it. We had to take turns eating. The toilet made a horrible noise every time it was flushed and the water wouldn't turn off. maintenance came and fixed part of it but the noise stayed. The tub didn't have a plug and with kids that is a necessity.The staff was kind and helpful but the building needs and upgrade! We have stayed at much cheaper hotels that were way nicer. Over all we will not stay there ever again. Not worth the money.

Had the king suite corner view….nice sized room…air conditioner was having trouble cooling the room down…stayed about 73 at all times…room is outdated but cool…staff was amazing and I bet if I would have asked, someone would have checked the a/c or even brought a fan…food was good…only stayed couple nights for music festival…pricey for conditions…but I’d stay again….

Had the king suite corner view….nice sized room…air conditioner was having trouble cooling the room down…stayed about 73 at all times…room is outdated but cool…staff was amazing and I bet if I would have asked, someone would have checked the a/c or even brought a fan…food was good…only stayed couple nights for music festival…pricey for conditions…but I’d stay again….

The young lady at the front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. Michael came at everyone with attitude. She made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We ended up sleeping with no covers because the bedding was stained We will never stay at this hotel ever again. Too bad because it was in walking distance from the race we attended every year.

Room was dirty - it was if the cleaning staff had only half finished cleaning room. No linens provided and requests to provide linens were met with anger. I had to make my own bed. Sink would not drain. When maintenance came up, we had to switch rooms because a flood ensued. I called three times to ask for a late checkout - 2 weeks before our stay, at check-in and one day before check-in. We are told 3 times to ask morning of and it would be granted. We called at 6AM and they told us rudely that it would not be provided. We were told contradictory information about parking from each staff member we asked. This hotel is outdated and not worth the money we were charged. Please do not stay here - truly not worth the cost.

My wife and I enjoyed a recent two-night stay at The Capital Suites Hotel and found the staff and facility outstanding. The hotel is conveniently located less than a block from The Palace where we experienced an awesome performance from comedian Ron White and is also within walking distance to several nearby restaurants and the popular North Market is less than a mile away. Our room was spacious with an adjacent suite, kitchenette, and bathroom with an amazing strong hot shower! Special thanks to the desk staff who were friendly and took care of all our needs. We will be back!

Beautiful hotel near the palace theater in downtown Columbus. Warming breakfast is not free. The keep telling us if breakfast and even the staff thought it was free until we got there and it’s 22$. It was a buffet. Not horrible.

Great customer service, great lounge and great food. Pricing for food is reasonable, super clean, very confortable bed, great water pressure, parking garage (extra charge added on to room charge) located on bottom hotel, super convenient to capital theater, 1 block easy walk.

Staff was first rate! They deserve a better facility to work with. Heating system needs work (it’s very noisy), stained tub, etc. The dining room had a limited selection but everything I tried was good and well-prepared. The wait staff was totally on top of everything.

Not good. Restaurant was run down. Room smelled like cheap carpet cleaner. It was hot and muggy upon entrance and the A/C didn’t work properly. I forgot a toothbrush (!) and asked for one, but the front desk refused to deliver one (at 11:30pm). It just an old, smelly, poorly run hotel. Don’t go. Save your money.

The hotel staff at check-in were GREAT and very helpful and knowledgeable. We were satisfied with the hotel bar staff. She was on the phone the entire time we were in the bar and seem aggravated when we order because it interrupted her conversation. She didn't have out her phone but was on her earpods. In fact, we specifically asked when the hotel bar closed and she indicated that it closed at 11pm. We returned to the hotel at 10:15pm timeframe and the bar was closed. The staff at the front desk said she decided to close early which was unfortunate as that was one of the amenities we searched for when booking. The card key reader in the elevator in the parking garage was also not working and the water temperature was barely warm. There was also some weird noise coming from the toilet when flushed and some mold in the tub. We did not bring it these issues to the attention of the staff though as we wanted to spend our time enjoying our trip.

The thing that was the worst part of the hotel was that the shower was luke warm at best. I would not get hot. The entrance was a bit deceiving also because the entrance just looked like a garage.

I liked the fitness center although needed earlier access (4am), liked the hours and options for the restaurant, liked the room size and bed mattress (very comfortable). I struggled with the dirtiness in the room - at first glance it is clean, but then when you look its quite dirty everywhere. There needs to be a better sign/instructions at the bottom of the Front entrance telling people to use elevator to go to the lobby for checkin. People were so confused, clicking buttons for parking every time I was in the elevator.
