Great location. Plenty of bars and pubs nearby. Close to all the city's highlights. Free parking. Atmosphere is lively in the hotel bars, with live musicians. However, located on a busy road so it gets quite noisy late at night and early in the morning. No AC so need to keep windows open despite the noise...

Hotel is in a great location and secured parking for our rental car. Overall it's a nice hotel and friendly staff. The only complaint we had was that we had to take an elevator up only to have to take our suitcases by hand down a large flight of stairs.

Comfortable room. Excellent parking and walkable to attractions, shopping and restaurants. Onsite restaurant was good for a fast meal. The only problem is that there is some music from the bar down below the rooms and noise from people in the hall. This wasn't a huge deal for us because we were tired and slept through most of it. Wouldn't be great if you were a light sleeper and wanted an early night.

Hotel was a bit old and run down but clean enough and comfortable, location is fantastic. My only complaint is we didn’t realize there was a night club at the property and on Saturday night there was very loud music until 3am so bare this in mind if you’re going over a weekend

Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient in all areas. Parts of the hotel a bit tired re decor (needs a bit of a refresh). The bedroom, bar areas and reception were all very clean. Location is fantastic with Kilkenny city centre and attractions well within walking distance. Parking at the Kilford Arms hotel was very safe and secure.

Praktisch gelegenes Hotel mit klassischer, aber gepflegter Einrichtung. Allerdings etwas verwinkelt, ich musste trotz Fahrstuhl nach oben (nicht wenige) Treppen wieder nach unten steigen. Das Frühstück wurde im mittelalterlichen Speisesaal des Restaurants aufgetischt.

Large hotel with multiple bars. Rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. Had a delicious smoked salmon salad for lunch. Friendly staff. A little dated but that’s part of its charm! Parking behind the hotel is free for guests.

Excellent hotel, greeted by friendly staff and shown to room. Very spacious and clean room with all the required amenities. Fantastic breakfast. The hotel is on the Main Street among all the popular bars and restaurants so it is very noisy at nighttime so be prepared. Will be back again hopefully very soon.

The Milford Arms is a traditional Hotel with a great bar & restaurant. Car parking at the back of the property is free for clients which is a bonus. Breakfast was excellent with choice for vegetarians. The evening menu again had lots of choice for meat/ fish eaters, & vegetarian choices. The reception, bar & restaurant staff were friendly, & helpful. The hotel is five minutes from the centre of beautiful Kilkenny, & near to attractions.

This place is in a good location in Kilkenny. The folks working the bar downstairs were really nice. The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly. The whole place is run down and my room in particular was very old and could use a good scrub. There wasn’t air conditioning, just a fan. Overall not a bad stay, but nothing nice.

Stay away from here! The doors don’t close properly. Every time the door is opened it has to be slammed shut. The tub/shower is moldy. There was a huge puddle in one of the hallways from god knows where- for 2 days.

On arrival. We were told our room was made up. It was not so we had to be allocated another. Staff dealt with this swiftly and were very apologetic. Overall the hotel is very dated. The corridors smelled very stale. Cramped room no bedside lights, dated bathroom. Staff were very nice nice but hard to find at times especially at breakfast one morning and we gave up waiting for a drink at the bar on our second evening as only one member of staff was manning the busy bar. Breakfast not good quality. Fresh fruit on second morning was not at all fresh and not well prepared with lots of skin and stalks left. All meat was deep fried. WiFi very erratic. Not good value for the price paid. We were expecting higher quality. Very conveniently located for exploring the beautiful city and free car parking a bonus.

The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The location was excellent as it was a short walking distance to all of the tourist areas and attractions. We appreciated the free on site parking. The breakfast was wonderful and the beer garden was a very nice area in which to relax. The windows in our room were very dirty and little bugs gathered around the lights at night. It was also very noisy as the music from the beer garden drifted up to our windows and the noise from the crowd there woke us up late at night.

Old building so the room was dated but also very clean overall so no complaints there. That said, the mattress basically needs to be replaced. It completely caved in the middle and was hard to sleep in. Also, no AC is fine but having a fan to circulate the air would have been a nice addition. There’s a bar below so it was quite noisy late into the night but I brought ear plugs so it was fine. If you don’t though, you may be frustrated. All staff I interacted with were incredibly helpful and nice! Breakfast was quite good!

Location is ideal for the city, and the breakfast was great, however don’t discount the noise problem. The hotel encompasses a nightclub and our room, at least, was severely impacted (a family member in a nearby room reported no problems, in fairness). Thumping music until the early hours (this was midweek and music went to 2.30-3am) followed by rowdy, drunk patrons inside and outside of the hotel. We got little sleep over our 2 nights.

Location is ideal for the city, and the breakfast was great, however don’t discount the noise problem. Great to have free parking in Kilkenny though the entry to the lot was difficult for a newcomer to find. Our room was clean and comfortable though very stuffy and smelled strongly of cleaner. The shower is so narrow that the shower curtain sticks to your entire body while you attempt to wash. I suggest a bowed curtain rod that will hold the curtain out farther

My only complaint was that on Sunday night the bass boom from the music in the bar was loud till about 1.00am. Friday too but less so and finished by 12.30 am. Otherwise the room was comfortable if a little dated and the staff were helpful and friendly. Can’t comment on breakfast as we did not eat the hotel.

The location is fantastic. Very close to all the bars and nightlife but not in the noise of it. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was huge, (could have included beans though).. Only downside was the shower curtain. It just stuck to you when using the shower making it uncomfortable.

The Receptionist staff were very rude and not helpful , they were rude on the phone and worse in person . We wished to upgrade the room to dual occupancy and met with resistance and a 60 euro charge for the same room to host an extra person . It was my first time in Kilkenny and this hotel was certainly not hospitable. For the same money I could stay in a better, more welcoming hotel . I will not stay here again.

On arrival. We were told our room was made up. It was not so we had to be allocated another. Staff dealt with this swiftly and were very apologetic. Overall the hotel is very dated. The corridors smelled very stale. Cramped room no bedside lights, dated bathroom. Staff were very nice nice but hard to find at times especially at breakfast one morning and we gave up waiting for a drink at the bar on our second evening as only one member of staff was manning the busy bar. Breakfast not good quality. Fresh fruit on second morning was not at all fresh and not well prepared with lots of skin and stalks left. All meat was deep fried. WiFi very erratic. Not good value for the price paid. We were expecting higher quality. Very conveniently located for exploring the beautiful city and free car parking a bonus.

Staff were warm and couldn’t have been more helpful. Put me in a room at far end from night’s entertainment, allowed me to leave my luggage for a couple of hours, printed off my travel documents etc. Despite the unattractive menu design the food was very good. G/F options at breakfast. Will happily use again. Thank you!

First time at Kilford Arms and I will stay here again...the hotel is huge! Room was lovely and the staff were great. All the bars/restaurants were good...the hotel looks small from outside but it isn't. Good parking(I did not use) and to walk out your in the heart of Kilkenny...alot of pubs & things to do or see. Love Kilkenny and now I love Kilford Arms!

Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient in all areas. Parts of the hotel a bit tired re decor (needs a bit of a refresh). The bedroom, bar areas and reception were all very clean. Location is fantastic with Kilkenny city centre and attractions well within walking distance. Parking at the Kilford Arms hotel was very safe and secure.

Hotel is clean and comfortable, there is parking behind the hotel which is included. Rooms are nice, there are better in Kilkenny but you pay the premium for that. Hotel is right in the centre, so can walk to wherever you want to. Had soup and a sandwich in the attached pub/restaurant which was very nice and the bread was exceptionally fresh. The Irish breakfast in the morning was perfectly cooked and as good as I have every had to be honest, and I have had a few in my time. Overall very happy, fantastic value for money, and I will not hesitate to stay again.

This was a last minute book as we were on our way through to visiting Kilkenny Castle and it was a wonderful place to stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff and super close to the castle. Check-in/out was super easy and the interior of the hotel was very unique as it looked like the ruins of a castle or church. Thomas the bartender was very engaging with my husband! Should we return to the area, we would definitely consider staying here again.

This was a last minute book as we were on our way through to visiting Kilkenny Castle and it was a wonderful place to stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff and super close to the castle. Great location. Plenty of bars and pubs nearby. Close to all the city's highlights. Free parking. Atmosphere is lively in the hotel bars, with live musicians. However, located on a busy road so it gets quite noisy late at night and early in the morning. No AC so need to keep windows open despite the noise...

This hotel is in a great location in the center of the city. Very convenient to the Medieval Mile, pubs & restaurants. We appreciated the free parking. The hotel is older but was clean and safe.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were lage and warm. Bathrooms while clean, needed some renovating. We had dinner in the bar durjng the evening and breakfast the following morning The food was just ok. Dinner tasted greasy and the breakfast was definitely reheated as it came out too quickly and was over cooked. In saying this I would stay again but probably not have food.

Excellent hotel, greeted by friendly staff and shown to room. Very spacious and clean room with all the required amenities. Fantastic breakfast. The hotel is on the Main Street among all the popular bars and restaurants so it is very noisy at nighttime so be prepared. Will be back again hopefully very soon.

I just stayed there over the Aug Bank Holiday w end, the hotel was busy and lively with lots of music !! I was afraid it might go on very late and be v loud, in fairness I could not hear anything from my bedroom. The staff were very welcoming, the food at breakfast was plentiful and really fresh, which is not always the case with a buffet. The pub was big enough to accommodate all and the pint of Guinness was very good. The car park was convenient and secure. It was my first time staying there but will gladly book again. Thanks.
