(1) There was a discarded box of "bug/insect foggers" laying near my room door when I checked in, and the box was still there being tossed around by the wind when I checked out, which suggests that no one is inspecting the premises for trash/debris, etc.(2) The coffee machine in the lobby has limited availability, from 7:00am-11:00am only. (3) Getting in and out of the parking lot is really unsafe and dangerous with the fast-moving traffic, and takes entirely too much time;(4) The parking spaces in the back lot are not marked properly. The spaces are not in alignment and too narrow.

No elevator as described but stairwells are not convenient to outside doors. Right on the road so super noisy. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast nook a nice touch to begin a visit to nearby Muir Woods.

I booked Muir Woods Lodge. The key card said Muir Woods Lodge & Hotel. The sign out front said Muir Woods Motel - which was exactly right! It’s an old, smelly motel. The ice machines didn’t work nor did the coffee dispenser in the lobby.

Nice efficient cozy room. Comfortable bed, good shower. I noticed there were pay washers & dryers & nice upper deck sitting areas. Great value. A little noisy because we were on the street side, but there're rooms around the back that are probably quieter.

Didn’t need parking or laundry. Staff was perfunctory; no lights on in the office at 5:30 PM. Walkways were dark, making it hard to see room numbers. Website says breakfast included, but there was only coffee and a dark room.

1st room the was assigned was dirty after they said it wasent. There was crumbs everywhere, everything was messed up near the tv, dirty towels, and trash in the bins. Asked for a different room 2nd room smelled to much like clorox. Couldnt take the smell all night. The locks were broken, the sheets didnt even look like they were washed. Parking is nice and quiet, Would i go back? No. I would look somewhere else next time

The bathroom had a terrible smell like sewage. They didn’t have another room so I had to stay in that one. I left the fan on in the bathroom all night and shut the door, but I still smelled it in the night. It was disgusting.

We stay at many hotels for our travels, this by far was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in! The room was filthy, walls were damaged and dirty along with the baseboards, bathroom was filthy, shower, curtain, and tub, or filthy, no soap for the bathroom sink, Air conditioner unit made loud noise cannot even turn it on, floors were filthy, bed line isn’t comforter and pillowcases dirty, this hotel should not be listed on your website , I can’t believe this hotel is even a business with these types of rooms. The amount of terrible reviews on a Google search is unbelievable, but hotels.com reviews are nearly as bad for some reason?? This place is a dump, we stayed in room 116 at the back of the hotel, we were so exhausted. You stayed there anyway without any sleep, unfortunately. Unbelievable!

First room I checked into has an AC unit that screeched and a bathroom covered in mold. Second room he let me in had a beeping fire alarm right outside plus no working key. The man at the front desk told me I would have to come ask him to let me in every time I left. Third room was the best of the three, until I noticed an adult bedbug on my mom’s pillow. I looked on my bed and immediately saw a baby bedbug too. We brought them to the front desk and asked for a refund as we were clearly not going to stay at a hotel with bedbugs. He said he would refund me but that hasn't been the case so far. Spend a few dollars extra and stay at the Holiday Inn across the street.

The rooms were disgusting, they smelled like throw up and filth. I couldn’t bear to stay there so I left. The people around the parking lot were super sketchy. There was no way I could ever feel safe in a place like this hotel. Don’t believe the 3.5 stars or the 7.4 rating.

The pictures combined with the name were misleading, especially after spending the previous 3 nights along the ocean or redwoods. Closest food was across the street, but trying to cross the street on foot was taking your life in your hands due to traffic. The room looked like it was “recently” renovated, but the bathroom was so small I had to stand in the bathtub to shut the door.

It was mostly a perfectly good 1 or 2-star motel with free parking and a convenient location near Sausalito. The reason I marked it down to average was the walls are paper thin and I was kept awake until midnight by ordinary sounds from the room above. Also, the toilet was loose, though that didn't cause any actual problems other than unsteadiness.

Room was large enough for two people. Small dresser could not be utilized as the ac/heater unit blocked the drawers from opening. Bathroom was large, lots of hot water. No sign in the room to decline housekeeping. I'm sure the front desk would have provided one if asked.

I rarely leave reviews but I think it's important for other solo travelers (especially females) to know my experience. I stayed on a ground level room, which is not my preference but all they had. At 11pm I was in bed sleeping when I heard someone trying to open my door. They used a key card and successfully unlocked the door and attempted to enter, but fortunately I had the manual chain/stopper in place so they could only open it a crack. I jumped up from bed and yelled, and they left. The only way this could have happened is if the lodge either booked them for the same room that I was already occupying or if the key cards are not unique per room. Either way, they screwed up and I was left feeling very unsafe there the rest of the night. There was no one working when I checked out, so I am sharing my feedback here.

When I arrived for my stay, there was no one in the office, the door was locked, and no one would answer the phone. I had to go find a place to stay late at night due to this. I’d prepaid for the room which led me to paying for two hotels for one night. Can’t speak for the room as I obviously never saw it but I wouldn’t book here again.

I wish I didn’t choose this lodge. We planned a family trip to Muir Woods and picked this lodge for my stay due to the good reviews. We need an extra bedding and my kids asked the office. They came back with nothing and here is the words from the owner, we have blankets but it’s not included in the package so we won’t offer it. On the day when I checked out, there was a logistics truck blocking the narrow driveway. I waited for 20 minutes and asked the driver to move. He refused. Then I ask help from the owner. He let the driver complete what he was doing and told me, the driver will move, if you are not okay with it, go call police. Yes I can’t do anything because police don’t have resources to handle this. And because of this I was late for my next appointment.

The desk clerk was very rude. She said she didnt live in the area so couldnt help with breakfast options for the morning. When i called before arriving she told me i had to have an exact time of arrival. The room was great.

I showed up to check in at 1230am and no one was there. I called the hotel to try and check in and no one responded. The service was horrible. I requested a refund after not being able to check in and they declined my refund, what a scam! It’s widely known as the cheapest hotel around so I wasn’t expecting anything special but to not even acknowledge my request for a refund is seriously disappointing. I’m local here and highly suggest staying anywhere else if you can!

The family that runs this lodge is extremely kind and welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious, and you cant beat the location, being right outside the insanity of the inner city and just across the golden gate.

It is located close to many great sights at a reasonable rate. It is easy to access Sausalito, Mill Valley, the ocean, and Muir Woods. The room was comfortable and clean, with nice air conditioning on a hot day.

Very run down on very busy road which is almost impossible to cross without walking way out of the way to a stoplight. Long walk to restaurants. Congested and poorly planned area. Only one desk chair in room, so no where to lounge in room. Bed was clean and comfortable

When we booked, website said breakfast is provided. There was no breakfast on site. When asked, desk staff said that breakfast is not provided. Misleading advertising! Coffee station in room is not maintained and we have to keep on requesting desk staff for coffee and cream etc.

This place is very convenient if you’re visiting Sausalito. Nice sized rooms. They have a complimentary gourmet style coffee in the office which was nice in the morning.-‘

No breakfast available at facility. Management said haven't had for 3 years, but web site still advertises a selection of breads, pastries, cereal etc. Management then claimed they know nothing about a website. Had been depending on it for our early AM hike. Outside trash cans overflowing.

We spent one night at Muir Woods Lodge. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and we were able to park close to our room. One thing I noticed after a day of strenuous hiking was that the room floors are laminate faux wood instead of carpeting. There is also no breakfast included. But it was a convenient location for hiking Muir Woods early in the morning. I would recommend this hotel, but wish that, for the price, some kind of breakfast was included.

Didn’t need parking or laundry. Staff was perfunctory; no lights on in the office at 5:30 PM. Walkways were dark, making it hard to see room numbers. Website says breakfast included, but there was only coffee and a dark room.

Great location near local attractions. Easy access and friendly staff. Very clean upgraded room with coffee, hair dryer and ironing board. Parking was near room and dining was just down the road.

Place was Just OK. would not return. Guests were Lo rent workers, noisy loud looked like redneck full time renters, could not get a moments rest, and it is NOT in Muir Woods as you are lead to believe. spend the extra bucks and find a better plac.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was not a good experience. The noise at night was awful. People were running up and down the hallways during the night, making it very difficult to relax or sleep. What was even more frustrating was receiving a call from reception during the night asking me to be quiet. I was travelling by myself and was simply sitting in my room writing emails, so I was very surprised by the complaint. There were also several issues with the room and facilities. The hairdryer didn’t work, there was no ironing board in the room and I had to ask reception for one. The bathtub also didn’t drain properly. I was allocated a room on the second floor, but there was no elevator, which was particularly inconvenient as I had a large suitcase. Overall, there were too many inconveniences during my stay. The noise, the lack of basic facilities, and the problems with the room made this a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

Clean room, good location, good parking, loud air conditioner - I had to turn it off to sleep. Fortunately, the temperature in Mill Valley was cool enough at night that not having A/C was not a problem.
