But arms is an older property that is in need of a little TLC. The staff is wonderful and nice. They’re very accommodative and helpful. Location is super convenient right in the middle of Waterville with lots of dining options and services surrounding the hotel. Parking is easy and free. But the hotel just needs some work.

Very nice location close to the sea. We could hear the waves from our room. The staff was so welcoming, they really made a difference. Food was very good for dinner and breakfast. I loved the phone in the room, which was a rotary dial phone. I had not seen one of those in ages. Convenient car park. The hotel’s building is not in its best shape and deserves some love. Room and bathroom need some renovation.

Staff is super friendly and the hotel is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Rooms were a little older, but very clean. Location is perfect for dining (on-site is great as well), walking the boardwalk and only two minutes from the golf course. Would stay here again.

We chose to stay at Butlers Arms because it was the closest hotel to Portmagee Skellig Island boat trips. We were delighted to discover that the hotel is in the charming seaside town of Waterville and directly on the Ring of Kerry. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and our room was very large and looked out to the rock beach. They have a pub, bar, and restaurant. The parking was a little difficult to find (it’s an interior courtyard area of the hotel). We had a great stay!

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. However you could tell it had recently reopened and there were a few teething issues - Although the staff were very friendly service could feel awkward and clunky at times. when breakfast arrived the food and coffee were stone cold. The facilities could do with some improvement- On one evening we went to play pool in the lounge and the table had a tear in it and every cue was broken. For such a large hotel there could be a bit more going on for example an onsite spa. Overall though we did enjoy our stay and the views are spectacular.

We had a spacious and comfortable room with a sea view. All the staff who we came in contact with were friendly and efficient. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice including kippers which is always a bonus. If you have lunch here be warned that the portions are enormous. My toasted special sandwich would easily have been enough for two.

Loved the breakfast offerings and friendly staff. The pub and lovely bartender also great. Also loved the Charlie Chaplin connection. Wish we could have spent more time at your venue-we shall return!

We had a fabulous room (lots of space) with a fantastic view of Ballinskellings Bay. Lots of luxury touches in the room. Our dinner (and breakfast) were excellent. NO question this is an outstanding lodging.

This is one of those great early 20th century hotels that has grown even better with age. All rooms are on one side of the hallways so each has an ocean view. And the accommodations, while wonderfully updated, still ooze that classy old charm! The staff (particularly Katie & Miguel) were nothing short of wonderful, and the strand and surrounding area are the stuff dream vacations are made of!

This is one of those great early 20th century hotels that has grown even better with age. All rooms are on one side of the hallways so each has an ocean view. And the accommodations, while wonderfully updated, still ooze that classy old charm! The staff (particularly Katie & Miguel) were nothing short of wonderful, and the strand and surrounding area are the stuff dream vacations are made of!

Absolutely charming place. We upgraded to the larger room with the fireplace which came in handy with cold, rainy weather. Great view of the sea. Food in the restaurant was really good. Enjoyed having Irish Coffee on a inclement weather day. Loved our stay of 3 nights.

Room was lovely. Very disappointed with breakfast. Hot breakfast served on a cold plate, and items cooked some time before., so not fresh. Served to order but not cooked to order unfortunately. Also, service wss very slow. We were 30 mins waiting for our cooked breakfast.

Stumbled upon this quaint place with a great view! Staff was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious! Met some wonderful travelers as well! This place is such a fun, neat stay with a close walk into town. Highly recommend

I loved the phone in the room, which was a rotary dial phone. I had not seen one of those in ages. Convenient car park. The hotel’s building is not in its best shape and deserves some love. Room and bathroom need some renovation.

We loved our stay! The interior of this property was so quaint and beautiful. We loved both of our meals at the restaurant. Gorgeous view of the water. This hotel was a perfect stop on our Ring of Kerry tour. Thank you!

We chose to stay at Butlers Arms because it was the closest hotel to Portmagee Skellig Island boat trips. We were delighted to discover that the hotel is in the charming seaside town of Waterville and directly on the Ring of Kerry. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and our room was very large and looked out to the rock beach. They have a pub, bar, and restaurant. The parking was a little difficult to find (it’s an interior courtyard area of the hotel). We had a great stay!

We had a fabulous room (lots of space) with a fantastic view of Ballinskellings Bay. Lots of luxury touches in the room. Our dinner (and breakfast) were excellent. NO question this is an outstanding lodging.

Room was lovely. Very disappointed with breakfast. Hot breakfast served on a cold plate, and items cooked some time before., so not fresh. Served to order but not cooked to order unfortunately. Also, service wss very slow. We were 30 mins waiting for our cooked breakfast.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. However you could tell it had recently reopened and there were a few teething issues - Although the staff were very friendly service could feel awkward and clunky at times. when breakfast arrived the food and coffee were stone cold. The facilities could do with some improvement- On one evening we went to play pool in the lounge and the table had a tear in it and every cue was broken. For such a large hotel there could be a bit more going on for example an onsite spa. Overall though we did enjoy our stay and the views are spectacular.

We had a spacious and comfortable room with a sea view. All the staff who we came in contact with were friendly and efficient. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice including kippers which is always a bonus. If you have lunch here be warned that the portions are enormous. My toasted special sandwich would easily have been enough for two.

What an amazing stay at the Butler Arms Hotel in Waterville. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The hotel is spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and the views are absolutely stunning. The greeting we received was exceptional. The gentleman called Brian who welcomed us went above and beyond, finding us a parking space and personally showing us to our room. That level of personal service really makes a difference. Every single member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was also excellent, with a great choice and everything prepared to a very high standard. We also had a fantastic meal at Charlie’s Restaurant. The food was top quality. My wife had the steak, which was absolutely outstanding, while the scallops were equally delicious. Overall, a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Fantastic hotel, amazing views, exceptional staff and superb food. We would highly recommend the Butler Arms Hotel and Charlie’s Restaurant and would definitely return.

Elegant old hotel, high level of service. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of options. We were on the first floor so view was good but I’m sure upper floors have amazing views. We had a noise issue, with an old radiator that needed to be bled on occasion or it made a loud jackhammer sound in the wall of our room. Happened twice, once early in the morning. Staff took care of it promptly but it was annoying. But it is a very old place.
