Everything was perfect with this hotel. Staff was awesome. Super shout out to Mallory for all her help plus the room change. Breakfast was good. Location was perfect. Rooms were very nice. Great pool area. Very small issue, but it would be nice if there was more lighting over top of the microwave/ fridge area, and the closet.

The garden area and pool WOULD have been great, but there was no AC in the lobby/garden area, exterior hallways, or stairways. Just sitting in the breakfast buffet area on hot mornings, or in the garden/pool area during late afternoons was uncomfortable at best. It was at least 80+ degrees in there, which meant we'd rather stay in the air conditioned room instead of using the amenities that actually brought us to the property. Our room door stuck so bad that we had to put a shoulder into it every time to get it open. The pictures online are definitely misleading as well. The rooms have been "renovated" with newer furniture, but the walls, shower, floors, etc weren't clean. The staff was nice and accommodating. The hot breakfast was mediocre, but the food in the restaurant was good. Overall, the disrepair and dated, "painted over" feel made me regret not spending a couple dollars more per night for a nicer overall hotel.

The hallway we were on was ice cold. Went just for the pool. Someone had gotten sick in it. Couldn't use and that was the main reason for going. They gave vouchers for their Cafe and couldn't use them because it was closed. Beds were clean but they don't have good frames. I say on the for of the bed and i almost flipped the entire bed over.

My room did not have hot water. I told the front desk and was told to let it run since my room was at the end of the hall. I ran it for 15 minutes and it did not get hot. The elevator was broken and we had to carry our bags up a flight of steps.

Part of the building had been demolished or collapsed so at first sight it did not look inviting. The hotel seems old and the rooms outdated. My door was really hard to open. There were no towels at the pool, the gym was closed and the elevator didn’t work. The curtains did not cover all the light that was coming from the hall. Fortunately it was not busy so quiet and the beds were comfortable. I would say for the price you can get something better around Detroit airport.

This hotel has potential! It’s a really nice atrium and airy indoor open space. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, self-serve waffles were nice. But many details were dingy, dirty and falling apart. There was some sort of renovation and construction happening and the gym was closed. Maybe this place will be better once the renovation is complete. Until then, don’t expect much.

The breakfast was good, and the bed slept good. My only complaint is that the two rooms that was offered to me both had mold on walls of the bathtubs. They need to focus more on cleaning these areas and my review would be different.

I was stranded by a thunderstorm that shut down the airport I was attempting to fly to for vacation. That being said, I was forced to stay overnight in Detroit. While the staff at the front desk was excellent, they had a hard hotel to represent. There were so many issues with my room, that I don't understand how this sister hotel of Wyndham got 5 stars on this site. Having been a property manager for over 20 years, I was horrified by the condition of my room. After my stay, I attempted to contact the hotel manager by name through Expedia to try to get some kind of partial refund because the room was in such disrepair. First, Expedia "bait and switched" the price as $67/night. When I clicked on it and tried to book a room, it said they were all sold out and forced a higher price. The total ended up being $105! Here are the issues with my room as there were so many! The king bed was sunken in the middle of the mattress. The tile floor was not even swept--to where someone else's blonde hair was stuck all over my socks. There was hard body wax stuck to the floor of the bathroom. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink to wash my face. Instead of fixing it, they tore off the hot/cold symbol from the faucet. The toilet paper holder was beyond rusted and popped out of the wall. Direct view of dumpster of trash in front of window. Extra toilet paper roll had blood on it.

Hotel was not the cleanest in the hallways nor the lobby area. Had a smell to it. To top it off my last night there I woke up to small ants on the floor and in my bed. There were some items I didn't complain about initially like boogers blow on the wall by the coffee machine as I was just sleeping there and very busy but once the ants came I couldn't take it. I wouldn't plan on staying here again unfortunatly as it was very convenient.

We checked in the hotel and we noticed yellow stains on bed sheet, yellow stain in towels, and I discovered bed bugs. Sammy came into our room and let us leave and I showed her the bed bugs and she acknowledged that it was bed bugs. I had to book a hotel within an hour we arrived to forth worth. This place is dirty and it smells bad. I was able to get a full refund for this stay but the stress I had to go through was horrible. I bought bed bug spray. I couldn’t stay there so gross. I took so many photos. Stay at the Hyatt or Hilton hotel. The reviews are real do not stay here.

We want a refund the room was filthy. Reception was not happy that we used Expedia to book room. Wanted to charge us for parking for 5 days when we were staying only 4. We have pictures. Ripped carpet we tripped over at the front door. Very loud heating unit. Dirty hairs found in the shower. Dirty hairs found on floor of the bathroom and the floor around the toilet. Dirty floors under the vanity. Trim not adhered to the wall. Carpet trim coming off the base boards. We checked it room 1100 after 11pm. Had flight early next morning, unable to move room. We would not recommend Wyndham Garden Romulus 9191 Wickham Road. They even wanted us to pay for another room $119 tax = $135.66 for a parking package. Then ask for a refund from Expedia for the room we already had booked.

The hotel has a really creepy setup the outer wall of each room is a huge window with curtains for privacy. One elevator making it difficult for the accessing rooms to the second floor. Smelled of chlorine bc of the pool in the center of the hotel. Beds are old with coils and mattress sink in. The water fixtures were hanging off the shower wall.

Overall property was nice and staff was great. Room was comfortable but needs reconditioning. AC was extremely noisy whe turning on and off. But did work well. Breakfast was good but I prefer Bacon and I can’t drink OJ or the Juice. Please offer water.

We were in a room where people can see inside, because the curtains can Not be closed. Room 1102. When walking past other rooms iit seemed they could close the curtains (both) so people can’t see you changing or sleeping! I would definitely change the curtain rods in that room to be able to make it more private!

The lobby is very misleading. The rooms are outdated at best, beds are fulls not queens, the toilet backs up into the tub every single time, the heaters are rigged up with wall thermostats attached to the heating element (it’s not secure and bobbles around) the heat also doesn’t work year round apparently because our room was 57 degrees and when I called I was told “it’s may we’ve turned the AC on the heat can’t be turned back on” we live in Michigan so that’s wild. It could snow tomorrow. Also when I asked for a manager they said they didn’t have one and they only respond by email anyways. The beds are also crazy uncomfortable. Spend the extra 20$ and get the nice hotel

I would stay here again. Couple of suggestions would be that a number of the doors to the rooms do not seem to close smoothly and therefore have to be pushed or pulled shut, making a loud slamming noise. Also the beds could be a little more cushiony. But I enjoyed the continental breakfast, the staff were friendly, and the room was clean.

While having space to gather as a group in the lobby was nice, the stay was overshadowed by the extremely cold public areas. Additionally, the lights in the hallways were very bright and the curtains didn't block out the light, making it very difficult to sleep. Finally, the bathroom was very underwhelming and cramped. The staff were very kind and friendly.

I would rate it higher but the air conditioning was heat only, the indoor pool was freezing cold, the eggs at breakfast were kinda gross, and the TVs were zoomed in weird. Other than that, everything was perfect. The beds were comfortable, the shower felt nice, the staff were VERY helpful and so was the airport shuttle, and the location is perfect for the price.

Everything was perfect with this hotel. Staff was awesome. Super shout out to Mallory for all her help plus the room change. Breakfast was good. Location was perfect. Rooms were very nice. Great pool area. Very small issue, but it would be nice if there was more lighting over top of the microwave/ fridge area, and the closet.

The airport shuttle was so easy and I was able to pay to check in early so I didn’t have to wait all day for my room when I arrived at 5am. The front desk staff was either just fine or a little confused. While nice, the service wasn’t what I’d expect from this hotel chain. The room was dated and had a in wall heating/AC unit. When I arrived the room was freezing and upon turning on the unit it I had to get over the burnt smell of it sitting all summer. The floor was dirty and left me wondering the cleanliness of the rest of the room. We had an issue with a clogged toilet and that was the best service we received. Maintenance came quickly to address the issue until resolution then sent someone to mop the bathroom which was a nice touch. Had my whole stay been given this level of care it would have ended up differently for me. You get breakfast but are threatened to not take anything back to your room. Feels petty. The lobby is also old and some of the plants (a main focus of the large center) were dead or dying. The whole place wasn’t taken care of the way it could have been. If I had to stay here again, I might, but it wouldn’t be my first choice and I’d bite the bullet to pay $20-30 more for a similar property (plenty within walking distance of this place) if they were available.

I arrived and the desk clerk demanded that i had to put up a $140.00 cash deposit even though I was using my AMEX she insisted that i still needed to put down a $140.00 cash deposit. So i thought it was odd and declined to check in because first of all i didn't have a $140.00 cash on me because i didn't realize it was that type of establishment.

The property is very old and run down. Room carpets and AC are very old. The beds are comfortable and the hot breakfast is decent but could be better. I feel like this hotel has a lot of potential if only it was maintained. And to top it off, the shuttle took an hour and a half to pick us up at the airport. We had to call thrice, and we were told different things every time— the shuttle will be there in 15mins, they didn’t receive a call, there was a shift change etc. Inconsistency and excuses are the least thing you want to hear after a long flight.

First off, they took $140 deposit for potential damage. They had me wait to get our room checked. They said there was dirt and grease stains, I'm unsure how cause we showered. But anyways, they said let us wash it out and we'll call back about your deposit. Then I get a call back about deposit to come back any time. I go back and they said they don't give deposits at night so I go back again to finally get my deposit. The hotel was oversold and canceled our reservation with no notice while we were en route on the hotel shuttle from the airport. It was 1:15am and we were left without a hotel traveling with 2 kids. When we called the hotel for shuttle pickup from the airport, we were not told of the cancellation. Not sure if service can be worse than this….

It looks a lot more dated than the pics shown, but it served it's purpose. Had to catch an early flight and they also offer extended parking. The cafe/bar served good food and I paid less than $15 dollars for a huge burger and side of fries. I would probably stay there again if I have an early flight. They offer breakfast with your stay.

It was really good choice to stay for a short period of time . amenities and facilities are convenient. They provide a great breakfast. Coffe, tea and water in the lobby area 24 hours. Nice place inside with indoor pool. Àirport transer 24 hours . And price is amazing for this service. If I visit Detroit again, sure I will come back to this place.

We did not want to drive to a restaurant so surprisingly we went to the Palms restaurant and it was super fantastic. The food was great. Our bartender we sat at the bar was great. It was all delicious over the top.

Wonderful property I loved the atrium. The trees provide a calming and relaxed atmosphere. The room was spacious. Gadget people there was power outlets with electrical and USB plugs throughout the room. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. There was scrambled eggs, hash browns, cereals and breads. I was most pleased with the self service three minute waffle iron. There is a courtesy airport shuttle which operates every 30 minutes on the hour and half past. Staff was friendly and helpful. Finally an excellent price at just under $100. Check-in is at 3pm, but early check-in is available for a $50 fee. I highly recommend this property.

This hotel was disgusting. There was mildew everywhere. The carpets and ceilings had a ton of water spots. The hallway had previously flooded and the floorboards were now rotted and warped. Our shower was backed up because the drain had not been cleaned. There was so much (of someone else’s) hair!

Was unable to travel due to the Canadian wildfires, called ahead of time to let the hotel know about such inconvenience and to cancel my stay. Was STILL charged for a whole night that I did not stay even after I was told "your account has been notated"

It was just average. Nothing really Grand about it. The staff was pleasant. There was plenty of parking. The lounge area inside had plenty of sitting & a nice ambiance. Decent location with a few places nearby to grab a smoothie or a bite to eat. The rooms were clean & the pillows/bed were comfortable. We had a good nights sleep. The bathroom door inside of the room is oddly placed, and it made it hard to maneuver around the toilet. The room doors are heavy & they slam hard & loudly.
