Good location for getting to the main attractions. The property itself is in need of some repair and the room floor was very creaky and the shower was quite poor.

The Albany is on a quiet street, a block from multiple cafes, shops, restaurants and the TRAM. We liked the Barony for dinner, twice. For curry, Shezan. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We needed an extra USB port and the desk staff let us use one. We had breakfast at the sister property nearby, Newtown. Good meal for under £10. Waverly train station is 11 minutes walk. Find the Water of Leith Path, downhill from the Albany, and Calton Hill, very close uphill. As with most hotels, we needed more clothes hangers, and a row of hooks would provide somewhere to put coats, bags, hats, scarves etc.

The location to St Andrews Square is excellent so airport run was direct. Hotels twin room and bathroom (shower and bath);was huge and excellent for amenities. There is a steep incline to get anywhere but it's fine. Reception staff were a delight every time.
