Wir waren im September 2026 eine Woche im Casa Berno. Die Junior Suite war geräumig und zweckmässig eingerichtet, mit wunderbarer Aussicht über den Lago Maggiore und die Berge, das Personal sehr freundlich, ausserordentlich hilfsbereit und sprachgewandt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig und von guter Qualität, das Abendessen ausgezeichnet. Dabei wurde namentlich auch unseren diversen Lebensmittelallergien in hohem Masse Rechnung getragen. Siebenmal täglich gab es einen Hotelbus ins Zentrum von Ascona bzw. zurück. Wir können das Casa Berno vorbehaltlos empfehlen.

This was a modern-style hotel but not very new anymore. The staff were really great. But for the price it was not perfect. The lobby was very underwhelming when you first enter. The rooms were very nice and spacious, but needed some maintenance. The view was a little disappointing as there was a haze over the lake that muted the view. The staff says that was normal for the view. They had useful free shuttles but the hotel was isolated, so you either needed a rental car or to use the shuttles frequently.

Dining was disappointing by Italian standards—uninspired dishes, with off-tasting bacon and overly runny eggs, compounded by unaccommodating restaurant staff. Bar great ... kid in Hall ...Buzz off Highlights: The €100 massage was truly exceptional—one of the best I’ve experienced—and the pool attendant was remarkably kind and attentive. Concerns: At checkout, the hotel attempted to charge €50 for pressing a dress I never owned, which was troubling. Recommendation: A pleasant location overall, but future guests should request a room upgrade and temper expectations regarding service and dining.
