There is not good signage or light on entry and lots of stairs. Old doors and old keys are sometimes difficult to manage. Restaurant has limited staff and menu items and hours.

Great value. Good location along the old wall, near the escalators. Breakfast was delicious. Nearby parking is a plus.

Des jardins quasiment laissés à l’abandon, une charmante piscine mais à la propreté douteuse (skimmers très très sales, douches hors d’usage, bordures piscines sales, …) Quel dommage pour un tel établissement !!! Les tables du petit déjeuner ne sont pas propres dans le jardin, sans parler des chaises … Il y a pourtant tout pour rendre le séjour merveilleux mais il faut se remettre au travail. Les 4 étoiles ne sont pas méritées aujourd’hui.

Beautiful old hotel built into the city walls. Great facilities, including 2 swimming pools, and lovely room. Close to secure parking station and just a short walk from hotel to the heart of the old town.

We recently stayed at Hotel Hacienda del Cardenal in Toledo and were truly impressed by the stunning property. Attached to the ancient fortress walls, the hotel exudes historic charm, with beautifully maintained gardens, a peaceful courtyard, and not one but two inviting pools—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is another big plus. Just a short walk to the old town, the hotel is conveniently located near the public escalators , making access to the historic center very easy. A special mention goes to Angelica at the front desk, who was extremely helpful and accommodating during our check-in. She made sure our luggage was taken care of even though we arrived before the official check-in time, and her warm demeanor set the tone for a pleasant stay. We were initially looking forward to trying the hotel's restaurant, particularly their suckling pig, but it was closed on Sunday—something worth noting for future guests. Despite that, we were very happy with our room. It was clean, well laid out, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Housekeeping staff were also friendly and efficient throughout our stay. Breakfast was perhaps the weakest part of the experience, the selection was average. All in all, Hotel Hacienda del Cardenal offers a beautiful and historic setting with great comfort and a convenient location. While our stay was very enjoyable, a few inconsistencies in staff hospitality slightly impacted the overall experience.

Absolut schönes Hotel/Anlage. Kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz 300m entfernt. Kostenloser Parkplatz in 700-800m. Wir hatten Zimmer mit drei Betten reserviert. Leider nur ein Doppelzimmer mit Schlafcouch erhalten. Die Couch war aber an sich ok. Lage einfach super am Rande der Altstadt. Rolltreppe ausserhalb des Hotels in die Altstadt nach 200m, wer es bequem mag. Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Buffet war besser wie das Menu. Sehr nette Rezeption. Hat aber leider nur auf den kostenpflichtigen Parkplatz verwiesen. Swimmingpool öffnet erst am 1.6..

Les points forts: cadre exceptionnel, belle architecture, très bien placé, partenariat avec le parking à 50m, belle chambre, personnel agréable. Nous avons eu la chambre très en avance. Les points faibles: à notre arrivée nous avions des articles de toilettes déjà entamés, la seule savonnette offerte est minuscule. Pas de peignoirs, de chaussons, de mouchoirs, pas de mini bar ni de room service. La piscine était fermée en plein mois d'octobre à plus de 25 °c. Les prestations ne sont pas celles d'un 4*. Le petit déjeuner est à peine correct mais est compris dans le prix donc on ne peut rien dire.

El hotel es un edificio histórico, bonito... pero no se ha mantenido adecuadamente para su categoría de 4 ****. La habitació era sencilla, poco espaciosa y no disponía de equipamiento propio de un hotel de su categoría: ni frigo-bar, ni cafetera, ni hervidor de agua... y el secador de pelo, se tenía que solicitar en recepción. El desayuno-buffet fue correcto y completo, aunque los platos calientes (huevos, salchichas, bacon...) se sirven bajo solicitud. Si no te enteras, no los pides pues... El personal de recepción, amable pero no agil en la realización del check-in y check-out.

Lo Mejor de todo, con diferencia, el desayuno y la localización del hotel, que privilegiada. Lo peor, el estado de la habitación, no por limpieza, sino por falta de mantenimiento.

A atendente do check in não foi muito simpática, mas acho que é o jeito de ser dos espanhóis, me disse que não falava minha língua, não perguntou se eu falava inglês. Eu disse a ela que tínhamos que dar um jeito, porque eu precisava fazer o check in. Com relação ao quarto, tinha um bom tamanho, cama de casal pequena e não tinha uma cafeteira, algo rotineiro em hotéis na Europa. Era bastante limpo, mas teve algo que me desagradou bastante, a parede para o banheiro era de vidro, então vc não tinha nenhuma privacidade para usar o sanitário ou o chuveiro. Foram atenciosos em guardar nossa bagagem após o checkout, até o final da tarde quando embarcaríamos no trem e também fizeram a gentileza de chamar um táxi. Achamos a localização excelente.

La habitación tenía la calefacción muy caliente y no tenía ventilador ni manera de enfriarla.

Cadre de l'hôtel magnifique au pieds des remparts. L'hôtel lui même assez vieillot, comme notre chambre. Très mauvaise insonorisation, on entendait tout (l'accueil, les bruits du couloir, les gens qui se douchent ou qui marchent en talons dans la chambre au dessus). une chance que nous ne restions qu'une nuit !!!

Das Hotel in sehr guter Lage, mit tollen Restaurant, toller Außenanlage, müsste etwas mehr in die Erhaltung der Zimmer investieren. (Badezimmerbeleuchtung gekoppelt mit Ventilator der so laut ist dass man aus dem Bett fällt wenn die 2. Person vllt mal nachts zur Toilette geht u das nicht im stockfinstern machen möchte. Bei Benutzung der Dusche läuft gleichzeitig das der Wasserhahn um die Badewanne e die zu füllen, daher kaum . Druck u Wasser aus dem Duschkopf 🙈, nur 1laken zum Zudecken, was nachts einfach zu kalt war - Ich habe im Bademantel geschlafen ! ) Ich hatte von anderen Reisenden gehört dass sie ein komplett renoviertes Zimmer bewohnten😳 Vielleicht hatten wir nur Pech bei der Zimmerverteilung Jedenfalls ein sehr interessantes Gebäude

It's a lovely environment. Our room 305 had a view of the old town and beyond with a small balcony and enormous bed. My partner was less keen on the open plan bathroom but the shower was excellent.

Lovely quaint property that needed an update. AC didn’t cool down the room. Outdoor courtyard was supposed to have a bar that stayed open throughout the afternoon but we were told they were closed.

O local é perfeito para um sítio histórico como Toledo. Pode-se percorrer todo o interior da muralha e conhecer todas as portas a partir do hotel. Existe estacionamento a menos de 10 minutos que é público, mas está sempre cheio (tive que esperar alguns minutos para encontrar a vaga). Ou pode pagar apenas 12 euros em estacionamento conveniado. A única observação é sobre o banheiro que tem uma parede de vidro, transparente naturalmente, que tira a privacidade de quem está no vaso sanitário. Na ducha também, mas nesse caso o problema é menor. O ambiente refinado e histórico do hotel compensou a vidraça do banheiro. Café da manhã variado com os presuntos típicos.

Muy bonito y cómodo. Eso sí, la habitación era para parejas muy íntimas ya que el baño no tiene puerta 😊. Vistas estupendas. Por poner una pega, faltaría señalética para encontrar las habitaciones.

Apart from how excellent this accommodation was, I felt like staying in a royal castle. The rich history, smell of the old castle, furniture and surroundings add so much to the experience. Staff was so friendly and welcoming. I had an early morning train so they were so accommodating in packing our to-go breakfasts. Very happy and glad I stayed here.

Check in was very long. Man checking us in was nice and competent but overwhelmed with people waiting to be checked in and cumbersome process. Need two people. Bad first impression but still loved the hotel and setting. Gorgeous at night!

Hotel lindo, amplo, muuuito bem decorado (fomos 1 semana antes do Natal) e super charmoso e aconchegante Atendimento deixa a desejar: mandei msg para os outros hoteis q estivemos nessa viagem pois estava comemorando meu aniversario (em todos recebi mimos e surpresas me esperavam na suite. Aqui nem um singelo cartão. Inclusive comentei na recepção q estava lá nessa comemoração e foi indiferente.) Não há nenhuma ajuda humana ou carrinho para carregar as malas ate a recepção ou a suite. O chão da entrada ate a rampa q leva à recepção é todo de pedras (lindo por sinal), mas para quem tem q carregar malas um verdadeiro desafio (estavamos com 4!!!) A moça q estava na recepção se limitou a nos entregar o cartão da suite e nos mostrar o caminho ate la e logo ja teve q atender outra pessoa.. Nenhuma informação exttra, onde ficava o que, o que tinha no hotel... tb pudera, estava sozinha). Inclusive ao sentirmos falta de algumas coisas na suite ligamos 2x na recepção e ninguem atendeu. Suite: linda, reservei uma das melhores do hotel exatamente pela ocasião, tinha uma bela vista, ampla e com bons armários.No entanto, não havia nada no frigobar, não havia maquina de café, chá e os produtos de toilet q havia no banheiro não eram como as fotos, deixaram a desejar. O piso do box bem escorregadio.

Beautiful property. Bar tender was so rude to us, waitstaff took order then didn’t show back up again - we had to get the bus boy get our check. We felt that American travelers were treated with no warmth.

Customer service: excellent Cleanness: excellent The location is very convenient. It’s 10 minutes from the train station in car. The hotel is just next to the entrance of the muralla and 3 minutes walk to the Puerta de Bisagra. We didn’t book a tour or had a car. Ubers and Cabify dont serve that zone but the hotel staff call you a taxi and it gets there in less than 5 minutes. They called us a taxi for el Mirador del Valle and to the train station.

El desayuno contaba con muy pocas opciones y poca cantidad de cada producto. Todavía peor ha sido tener que esperar a que apareciera alguien para pedir que repusieran algo tan básico como pan, aceite, jamón, agua, vasos, etc. He estado varios días y esto ha sido recurrente todos los días. Otra cosa es que solo dan para utilizar un solo plato, no hay posibilidad de coger otro salvo que expresamente lo pidas. En la habitación no reponen los productos (aseo o papel higiénico) salvo que lo pidas expresamente. Esto, en mi opinión, es por el servicio poco profesional que tiene este hotel. Reconocer que el hotel está muy bien situado, cuenta con unas instalaciones y entorno excelente pero lo comentado antes añadido a que desplazarse dentro del establecimiento, por lo singular que es, no es fácil y mucho menos con maletas deja la experiencia con un bajo nivel de satisfacción. Para un hotel como este, con pretensiones, el servicio global se queda un un quiero y no puedo.

Very nice and charming ancient style hotel. Just next to the hotel, there is a very long escalator that goes up to the citadel downtown.

An incredible property--built into the walls of the old city, with courtyards and fountains everywhere. Lovely room, great breakfast buffet. It is at the bottom of the hill, so you will definitely get a workout on your way to the historic sites of Toledo, but worth it!

Beautiful hotel with comfortable beds and a polite and attentive staff. The escalators going up to the historic city are a one-minute walk from the front gate. Just be advised that you do need to climb some stairs to get to the lobby.

This could be a beautiful hotel But it needs money spent on it. The Breakfast Service was terrible But there was only 1 person serving A full hotel - it was like Fawlty Towers! The food and dining room weren’t even Ready at 8.00 am. I had already read reviews about the breakfast. The bar operated separately from the hotel And reception couldn’t tell you if it was open You need a sense of humour to stay here!

Absolutely stunning hotel within the walls of Toledo. The gardens are fabulous with lots of small courtyards for sitting. Great breakfast with a lot of choice. Staff were excellent. Could not fault. Will stay again

Logistikken vedr. morgenmaden kunne godt have været bedre. Der var meget kaos omkring den lille kaffemaskine, som ikke var effektiv nok til alle hotellets gæster. De var desværre heller ikke så hurtige til at fylde op i buffeten og der manglede glas til juicen. Derudover var det et charmerende hotel både indvendigt og ved udvendigt.

Nos ha gustado mucho el hotel, la habitación era cómoda y daba a un patio interior con una fuente y hacía buena temperatura sin necesidad de poner la calefacción. El personal muy amable. No nos ha gustado el desayuno, muy poca variedad, no había yogures, la chacina era de Mercadona, los zumos eran de tetrabrik muy muy malos. El pan tampoco era bueno. No merece la pena pagar por el desayuno, mejor hacerlo fuera.

The views and location were excellent. Place is dated but clean. Restaurant/ courtyard bar in the evening could be improved if they serviced the tables outside. For the amount of staff the has working for 2 tables inside, the staff could have been to better use giving table service for drinks to approx 35/40 people seated in the courtyard. This would have delivered an “excellent” for our stay . The breakfast was great with a wide variety of choices and great, friendly service
