Historiska North Park Casita

The casita is very cute! It is in a great location from downtown. We parked in the driveway and used uber to get downtown. It was easy and cheaper than parking!The USS Midway was amazing. The casita is well appointed and has patios for sitting outside. The bbq is great too.It’s perfect for 2 people. We’d stay there again and highly recommend.

We enjoyed our 3 week stay in Nancy’s cute casita. She is quick to respond to questions. Neighborhood very safe and easy walk to Balboa Park where there is a pool. Lots of close restaurants and cafes and a grocery store. We enjoyed sitting in the private and very quiet courtyard. The casita is located behind the house shown in listing picture. Washer/dryer is shared with front house

We loved everything at this place. Very clean! Well equipped kitchen. Comfy. Nice outdoor spaces and a wonderful thing, having a parking spot designated for us!

Perfect location with parking included.

The only problem with this place is the driveway for parking. It is really difficult for 2 people to get out of the vehicle once parked, because there is not enough space. One has to get off by the sidewalk, so the driver can pull over far enough to open his door! Everything else was clean, neat, beautiful! Homeowner was easy to get ahold of!

This casita was very comfortable and had all the necessities for our extended stay in SD. We really appreciated the large kitchen with cookware, olive oil and the basic seasonings. The AC and heater worked well and there was even a space heater in the back closet area. Day and nighttime hours were very quiet, which made for good sleep. Laundry was shared with the main house, so you will have to plan ahead to use it between 9am-9pm. Otherwise, a great place to be if you have an extended stay planned in SD!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely North Park casita for 5 weeks. Despite it being small, it became a cozy home away from home for us, and I was so sad to leave! The owner did an absolutely lovely job decorating the space and it was one of the best stocked rentals I’ve been in - all the dishes, cups and gadgets you could need in the kitchen (no garbage disposal or dish washer though.) There were plenty of sheets, blankets & towels (including large beach towels), and everything was high quality & super comfortable, including the bed. We absolutely loved the neighborhood - walking distance to amazing shops & restaurants in one direction, and the northern corner of Balboa Park just a few blocks in the other direction. We used the beautiful municipal pool daily to do laps & my husband played tennis several times. It was like having an inexpensive public country club at the end of your street! If you’re not familiar with North Park, it’s a fun and eclectic part of San Diego with excellent restaurants, cafes, vintage clothing boutiques & other stores that give it a hip and young vibe. There are homeless people on University, but we always felt safe. While you’re in a city, the neighborhood has a suburban feel, so you get the best of both worlds and it’s very quiet for sleeping. I should also add that there’s a bus on the corner of this street and University - you can go almost anywhere (not the beach though) without getting in your car. Will definitely stay here again!

Nice small property, which is well stocked with dishes, pans, spices, coffee pot, coffee filters, lots of towels, extra bedding. TV in living room and bedroom.

The property was exactly as described. It was clean and had all the kitchen essentials that one needs to cook with when you choose stay in. The house is in the back and therefore it is very quiet. The driveway is a plus, and as described it is narrow...we had a Camry and it fit just fine. North Park is a central location and is a fine neighborhood. Nancy is very responsive and we give her and the property 5 stars.

My husband and I were in San Diego to celebrate our friends' 40th wedding anniversary. Since we were seeing people in several parts of the county, we ended up eating there and not in the neighborhood where we were staying. When we were at the "casita", we stayed in and cooked there. The kitchen is well equipped. It was too hot to be outside. The house holds heat and gets rather warm during the day (no blind on western kitchen door). There is AC and it works quickly. The only drawback for me (not my husband) was not having a luggage rack. I travel a lot and prefer to live out of my suitcase; I never use a chest of drawers. There was some trouble communicating with the owner on our day of travel, but once we were in San Diego we didn't encounter any other communication issues. The guys living in the front house are very welcoming. The driveway isn't for everybody. We drove a Hundai Sonata and barely fit with enough room for us to get out (e.g., inches).

A great home in a fantastic location. The casita was extremely clean and felt secluded even though it was centrally located to everything you could possibly need - countless restaurants, pubs, and even a full grocery store - all within a block or two of the casita.The off-street parking, well-stocked kitchen, ample storage areas, and on-site laundry all make this a winner!

The property was as described and very comfortable and clean. All the amenities were there to use. There was everything you would need plus some extra that you might forget but need. Would definitely use it again.

The owner knew the place flooded! She rented it with torn up flooring and a smelly moldy rug to hide it. I have pictures because it was ridiculous. It wreaked of strong mildew. Would have been a cute place if not for the strong odor. Beware of the constant sirens all night if you like quiet. And, single-ply TP. Bring your own toilet paper!

Very nice, well maintained, clean property, located in a nice quiet neighborhood. Very convenient location to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping areas and greater San Diego. We really enjoyed staying in this "Casita", everything was perfect and as promised. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to San Diego and will highly recommend this rental to our family and friends. Nancy was very responsive with communication and a pleasure to deal with.

Lovely visit for two seniors. Amazing location, safe, quiet space ideal for two visitors. The home is filled with things to enhance your stay- wonderful, quality cookware, bedding, and bath supplies made this one of the best places we have stayed! There was a bit of a musty smell so we did open windows to help the situation. Nothing big enough to prevent a second visit to this comfy casita. The owner obviously loves this space! Hoping to return soon!

The casita was clean, comfortable, and private. Couldn’t have been in a better location with walkable restaurants nearby. Everything else (beaches, downtown, and zoo) was a quick drive.

The host was extremely friendly and reachable which was helpful when we needed her. Super happy about the driveway parking spot too!! Very close to everything!!

This was a great place, very clean and efficient in a vibrant neighborhood, close to major routes. The owner communicated very well. There were a lot of little touches in the unit that made it special. The only small complaint is low water pressure from the shower head. We would eagerly rent this property again and recommend it highly!

Everything was wonderful—the location was quiet with groceries and coffee shop within a block or two. Kitchen was well appointed. Communication with host was immediate when we had questions. We failed to notice in pictures (although pictures do show this) that the bathroom is accessible only through the bedroom—not really an issue for us with family members but perhaps for other groups it could be.Overall we had a lovely stay!

Nancy's Casita is cozy and spacious for two people, with room for spreading out in the combined kitchen/living room. There are many thoughtful touches such as a makeup mirror in the bathroom and a kitchen with coffee, tea, and basics such as sugar, oil, and spices. The bathroom does not have much counter space, but there is a place to set things just outside the bathroom. I appreciated that there were plenty of clean towels and washcloths. There is a skylight in the bedroom; it took us a moment to find the controls for the automatic blinds, they are located in the closet alcove. The location was perfect, close to everything, with a great morning coffee place only steps away. Nancy was a good communicator, responding quickly to any questions. I would happily stay here again.

The casita was clean and well-stocked; it had everything we needed. It was the perfect size for two people. The beds (including sofa bed) were comfortable. The neighborhood was surprisingly quiet for being so close to a major road. It was great to have private parking. It is within a few-block walk to restaurants/bars.

a lovely little cottage in the North Park area. Single floor so no upstairs neighbors, completely separate building that is well appointed and very comfortable. Highly Recommended!!

Nancy’s place in North Beach is a hidden gem! I love the front and back patio, being able to park in the driveway, and the quiet of the neighborhood. The apartment is very spacious and has everything you’ll need. This was my second time staying here and I hope to be back!

The property was clean and well kept. Decorated nice with not a lot of clutter. My only issue was the bedroom does have a skylight in it that is extremely bright early in the morning which made sleeping in an issue for me personally. I would however stay there again. The location was great and we really appreciated having the driveway to park in since parking is such an issue in San Diego. We would highly recommend staying here

The casita was very nice. It was close to many restaurants within walking distance of North Park and Hillcrest. The host was very nice and reachable! The home was clean, bed was comfy. We didn’t cook there was out and about most of the time. The only thing I would say is to add to description that there is a skylight in the bedroom with no covering so if you want to sleep in you cannot as once dawn comes it’s very bright in the bedroom. Overall a very nice place to stay with a wonderful host.

The owner of Great Casita provided excellent communication both before and after our stay. The directions to the property were clear, and the instructions for using the TV, skylight, and other features were easy to follow. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed—we only wished we’d stayed longer to take full advantage of it! The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed the Farmer's market held on Thursdays. Looking forward to next time!

This property was perfect for our extended weekend. The location is perfect, with a number of great restaurants within walking distance and a short drive to the other locations we planned to visit. The casita is cute, cozy and fully stocked with literally everything you might need and even the things you didn't know you needed! The bed is also very comfortable. 😊 We had some minor trouble with one of the door locks and Nancy sent someone to take care of it and she was an overall very pleasant and attentive host. I'd absolutely recommend this property and would book again if I visit the area. we planned to visit.

This is our go to place to stay in SanDiego. House is very comfortable, well supplied and very clean. Nancy is a great communicator.

We came to San Diego to pick up our daughter from SDSU and found the Casita to be a perfect spot for us. I also greatly appreciate Nancy's communication and flexibility as our dates changed. Thank you!

Our host was very responsive and professional. Our Casita stay was very comfortable and cozy. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. We took walks to the park and went to a local gym for exercise. The location is very central to all the things that we did. I highly recommend this lovely Casita and we would come back and stay again!

My folks stayed at the casita for about 4 weeks while visiting me in San Diego from out of town. Nancy was easy to communicate with and very responsive to both me and to them. They had a lovely time, and felt very comfortable in the casita. It’s centrally located but tucked away from the street, so it feels private and quiet. Overall excellent stay!

This was a great property. Everything in the listing and some extras. The location was perfect with walking distance to stores and restaurants, just a stone's throw from Balboa Park and the Zoo. Quiet, clean, and restful. Our host responded quickly the couple times we had questions. Would 100% recommend to a couple or a couple friends visiting San Diego.

This is a very charming place located close to all of the Hillcrest area venues. We loved our time there.

Absolute gem of a propery. Amazing location in North Park, two blocks from 10/7 bus lines for convenience and plenty of walkable food and shopping options. Host was so kind and responsive! I’m extremely grateful and will save it for possible future travel for sure.

Casita was convenient to Balboa Park, freeways, restaurants and Smart and Final grocery store. Very private and quiet. Walkable, and transit system 1 block away( I did not have a car). I stayed for two weeks in May of 2024. Diane from Northern California
