Hotel Diplomat Sydney

I had a very disappointing experience with my recent stay at Hotel Diplomat. The issues started right at check-in. The process was handled poorly, and my interaction with the staff member on duty was far from professional or welcoming. It set a negative tone from the outset, which is not what you expect when arriving at a hotel. What’s more concerning is the complete lack of follow-up. I specifically requested for the General Manager to contact me to discuss my experience, yet I have received no communication at all. This lack of response speaks volumes about how little value is placed on guest feedback and service recovery. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling that guest concerns are not taken seriously. I would not recommend staying here based on both the service at check-in and the absence of any meaningful attempt to address the issue afterward.

Great location and friendly staff, but the room was very small (no bedside table on one side and had to put the kettle on the floor to use it). I used the top of the wardrobe to store one suitcase but when I retrieved it a load of dust came down too.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive — they genuinely made me feel at home throughout my visit. It’s clear that excellent customer service is a real priority here, something many guests consistently mention in their feedback online. My room was comfortable and clean, with a bed that was exceptionally pleasant to sleep in. The choice of pillows made it easy to find just the right level of comfort, which was a real plus after long days of travel. Like other guests, I found the room cosy and well-appointed for a restful night’s sleep. While I was there, I appreciated how helpful the team was with local tips and making sure everything was taken care of — a feature that many reviewers also highlight as a standout aspect of this hotel. Overall, it was a great experience and I’ve already booked my next stay. I travel regularly to Sydney, and Hotel Diplomat Sydney will definitely be my go-to choice whenever I’m in town!

Service was fantastic. Only thing that could be improved upon is that our shower didn't have a door or curtain, so water often leaked onto the bathroom floor. Overall a really smooth check-in and check-out process 🙂
