Very economical. But it showed. No microwave or coffee machine in hotel room. Had to use microwave in lobby that closes at 9:30. Attendant was rude when I stopped by at 9:45 to heat up my kids dinner. Ran out of parking on 3rd night. Room service is only provided IF”requested” did not know this until 3rd day of 5 day trip. The one thing this hotel had going for it was location! It was central to everything family wanted access to, beaches, bike trail, Dennis the menus park and quick drive to cannery row.

The staff were just there to do the basic and nothing special. There is no coffee pot or freezer, just a regular refrigerator, no microwave, and unless you brought ear-plugs, you may as well be trying to sleep next to the Daytona Speedway. This is a bare-bones MOLR, (Motel Of Last Resort). Cheap, and for a reason.

Simple very clean room. Loud refrigerator, had to unplug it. When I called ahead to confirm my reservation, the front desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful, saying I had to call the online booking service and could not get answers from them directly. He seemed to have a difficult time understanding me due to a language barrier and hung up on me. I would have cancelled at that point, but couldn't due to my plans. The staff was courteous in person, but was not the person who had answered the phone. If they don't want to help customers via phone, why do they even answer the phone?

The rooms should be cleaner, the floors were sooooo dirty my sock were black after walking from the bed to the bathroom and some of the towels had yellow stains but the grounds are nice beautiful flowers everywhere

We spent 2 nights there. The cost is reasonable but they did not set up the room and change the towels and when I asked for an explanation the lady told me that I was suppose to ask them for the service..... Normally it doesn't work this way, normally there are card to hang out at the door IF we dont want to receive the service!!!

Run down motel on a busy road. At least it was clean. We got the last unit literally a foot from traffic. Everything in town was booked and can’t believe how much we were charged for a one night stay.

Pros: The room was updated enough and clean enough, had a spacious mini frigde, and was cheap. There is no staff there to talk to before check-in time, but other than that check-in and check-out was a breeze. Cons: There was no manual security lock; we actually had staff walk in on us in the morning because there was no lock to stop them. We had the electric deadbolt locked but they must be able to override it. There clearly used to be a manual lock there, but it was gone. Very noisy, from the traffic to the neighboring rooms to the climate control unit - and I'm a heavy sleeper. The most uncomfortable pillows ive ever had the displeasure to sleep on. They were so flat and lumpy, it was like sleeping on a balled-up sweatshirt. Even if we would have been given extra pillows then it would have been like sleeping on multiple balled-up sweatshirts. We actually went to the Target down the street on the second night and bought a couple of cheapo $5 pillows and it was an enormous improvement. We got what we paid for.

TLDR: Walls are made of paper, hard to communicate with owners/ staff, AC stank of mold and was unusable, the door locks/ keys barely worked. The walls made are made of paper. Our "Neighbors" decided to come back drunk at 11 pm and proceeded to tickle each other all night while giggling. Yes they go to the other thing about 3 am but for a good four hours all they did was chase each other around the room and tickle. Probably the worst "hotel" we stayed in on our trip up the coast. It was cheap in an expensive area, that should tell you all you need to know. Literally could have chosen a motel 6 and would have had a better experience.

One morning when leaving my room I (thankfully) noticed that my door didn’t lock behind me. The man at the front desk tried to change the batteries, and when that didn’t work he called someone to come by. He was just going to leave my room unlocked and open while I was out. I told him that wasn’t okay, and he switched me to a smaller room. No one came to clean the room or change the towels at all during my stay. The WiFi didn’t work most of the time and my reception in the area was terrible. The area itself was great. Really close to the beach. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again.

Terrible experience. Worst stay and I’ve stayed at a lot of budget places. The place smelled awful. The toilet was not properly secured to the floor. The room was not clean, and there were stains on the pillow cases. The worst part though was the hostility that the family running the place had towards us. I’m a polite person who does not complain. I just asked if I could get extra pillows because I’m very pregnant and forgot my own pillows at home. They seemed offended by my request. We decided to check out early because something about the smell/air in the room and not getting sleep due to the uncomfortable bed was making us sick. We cut out trip short and just went back home. They wouldn’t give us a refund and actually passed the room key back to me as if to tell me to stay. They didn’t ask why we were leaving early but the lady did ask very curtly, “What do you want?” I’d give this place zero stars because not only did the room get us sick but the service was so incredibly rude.

For the price this was a great stay! Convenient location and check in was easy. The room had a funny smell and we needed to light a candle to freshen up the room. Checkout was a little hard, there was no one to help.

The exterior looks like a cottage. Very clean and nice looking room inside. Everything is within a 15 minute drive. Good room for the price but make sure to double check that your room door is locked. The front desk lady walked into our room around 9am while we were sleeping, for no reason. She didn’t even knock before coming in. This was unnecessary. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
The exterior looks like a cottage. Very clean and nice looking room inside. Everything is within a 15 minute drive. There was a little road noise but all in all the property management was excellent to communicate with and I would have no issues staying here again in the future.

If you're interested in riding your bikes on there coastal trail, it's right across the street. We loved it and rode up and down the coast. We were more than pleased with our stay. The room was super clean, freshly painted, open and comfortable. Beds pillows and blankets were nice and they gave us an extra blanket. There is no coffee in the room, but Starbucks is right around the corner, a 2 minute walk. Air conditioning worked great. Bathroom and shower are well appointed. Comfortable desk chair. And plenty of room. Easy parking is right at your door at this quaint little place. The landscaping, small grounds, parking lot, vines and Roses are well kept and inviting. We love Monterey and had a great time at a great price and plan to come back again next year for our anniversary.

We were there for CaliRoots Festival 2025 and this inn was perfect walking distance to the fairgrounds! Location is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Has a free parking lot and also has a fridge in the room, which was a plus. Location is about 10/15 mins driving from grocery stores, plazas, restaurants, etc. Front desk is very friendly. We had an issue with the door and staff immediately fixed the issue. Enjoyed our stay, Thank you!

Registration was simple, easy. The man at desk was pleasant. Monterey Oceanside Inn is quiet and small. Not far from Del Monte Beach. Definitely would stay again.

Very convenient location and reasonable price. I am actually in the process of getting scuba certified at the dive shop next door, Aquarius. It is very convenient to walk over there and pick up my gear and bring them back to the hotel room. And if you need a place to stay for the night after the night-time in-person class at Aquarius, this motel is the perfect place! Aside from that, also short drive distances to downtown Monterey and the beaches. This is along a busy highway, so you will hear cars drive by throughout the day and night.

Typical cheap motel. Kinda place where you wonder if they wash the comforter between guests. Room had a "smell" to it. Good enough for a cheap place in Monterey, Starbucks is right around the corner too.

Uphill Walking distance to beach through a nice neighborhood for those in good shape. Great fish restaurants close by. Starbucks on corner. Clean beds and bath.

As soon as you walk in there's a fresh laundry smell, very clean, and even has a desk office table and chair. Beds are comfy and warm, no microwave though but there's is one in the office. At night, you can hear the cars pass by but not too noisy I guarantee you will get a good nights sleep. There's also a heater in there and right in front of the motel, 2-3 minutes walking, in the park, there are some stairs that you can climb and see the ocean. It's also 3-7 minutes away from food, stores, and coffee. Overall great stay, Very satisfied.

WiFi was terrible and signal on property was bad. Better signal on the beach! Lots of road noise. Quick walk to Starbucks or Monterey Fishhouse (great food)!

It was a basic place to sleep and shower. Not horrible, kind of cute, pretty clean but could use a remodel. It was walkable to StarBucks. No microwave but had a small fridge with freezer big enough for an ice pack to keep my medication cool. We had two queen beds, they charged $20 for a third person. Shampoo and soap dispensers were full enough. Sink outside of the bathroom so someone could shower or potty while others get ready. We got there late on Friday night just before check in and there was just one parking spot left then we got there midnight the next night and we still got the last spot. WiFi password was posted at the office window but didn’t stay connected. We’ll try something closer to Monterey Bay Aquarium next time.
