The hotel was under phased renovations (fitness center was closed - as of August 2024). We had requested 2 connected rooms and had confirmed twice before arrival, we were unfortunately not granted the request despite confirmations. The staff member at check-in said because there were no cleaned connected rooms when we arrived (it was early afternoon and she said check-in is technically at 4 PM). The private beach was very nice and the reason we return to the Sheraton each time we are in Clearwater, this was our family’s fourth stay. Note there is a surcharge for beach chair / umbrella rentals ($45 plus taxes). Rentals end at 6 PM.

Unfortunately the property wasn’t taken care of properly. The bathroom had mold, the room’s A/C wasn’t working well, and the patio was dirty. The parking lot was a shared lot where guests had to pay for parking just like non-guests. There was only one cart that would take people to the beach and that cart stopped doing trips at 6. You were charged excessively for services that other hotels either provide complimentary or charge very little for. Lastly, the worst part of the hotel was the pool, which was too small to accommodate a hotel this big, where half the pool was also 8ft and outdated.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Sand Key. It is a nice, family friendly hotel. The Jolly Trolly stops at the hotel and takes you for a short ride over to Pier 60 area with many restaurant options and boat excursions. The downside is that the pool area of the hotel is nice but the photos are deceiving. In reality the pool is small and gets crowded. Also, it is a long walk to the beach. Again, the photos make it seem like the property is right next to the beach. All in all it was a good stay. The staff is super warm and accommodating.

Great property & services but they nickel & dime you for everything, from the parking, the internet, & the drinks. Also the walk to the beach is far but the have the golf cart giving out rides. Also the pool is small. Overall, great property but the minor things add up.

Pool and the beach areas were great. Nice feature is the golf cart that takes you to the beach. Helped not having to walk our stuff to the beach. Concierge staff was very helpful along with the staff in the market.

We had a great stay. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. It was within walking distance of shopping and eating places. The beach was just a short walk from the hotel doors and was a nice to hang at the beach or at the hotel pool. Will definitely stay there again!

They should improve the food and drinks more, clean the pool because it has vicible body fat around the pool water, the rest a little acceptable, I think the price is very expensive for what they offer thank you

Pool is very small, bathroom is super small, lots of bugs in room, parking is too expensive. The breakfast buffet was not worth $20, should have more of a variety. Nothing special about the hotel, other than the beach close. Not coming back here

I have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed it. It’s a beautiful property with plenty to do and outside the traffic Clearwater. My only complaint was that this time my wife and I had checked in later in the evening and when we walked in, a huge roach was running through the room. I know it’s Florida, it happens, but after I got rid of this thing, I went into the bathroom to flush it, and another even bigger one was there, with a baby right next to it. My wife freaked. I killed it, flushed them all, looked around and after I calmed her down we had a great time.

This property is a joke a much as it cost for weekend stays they could at least give you good toilet paper. They make you pay for parking. The bed comforter sounds like a trash all night . The shower head is to short and to close to the shower wall . The microwave is in a different location then the snack store and they don’t have one in the room which in stupid. Also the gym was closed . The was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel.

We checked in late and woke up to construction noise at 0630 the next day. We did get moved to an upper floor but the construction followed- to the room next door. I was hoping to be able to work on the day that wasn't warm but the noise made it impossible. No microwave in the room, no laundry facility, fitness room was closed, tennis courts were not available. Resort prices for drinks at the pool. I would not stay again. The staff was very sympathetic, Kyleigh at the front desk was very kind. For the room price I would expect better amenities.

I had a very disappointing stay at the Sheraton Clearwater. I left my sunglasses in the room after checkout, called right away, and even came back, but they were “nowhere to be found.” I know exactly where I left them, they didn’t just disappear. The room was also in poor condition. The Chromecast didn’t work, and the sink was completely clogged. When the manager told us she checked the bathroom, she said, “All I saw was blue water in the sink,” which was especially frustrating. The blue water was from brushing our teeth, and it was still there because the sink wouldn’t drain. Between the missing item, broken amenities, and unhelpful staff, I won’t be returning. Do better.

Everything was pretty good. The only complaint would be that the walls seem paper thin as you could hear people talking in the hallway outside the room as well as the people staying in the rooms next door. It was like they were in the room with us and they weren't being rowdy or anything.

Hotel needs an upgrade. Rooms are a bit old, bathroom is very small. There’s no resources if you’re staying for a long period and wants to bring your own food, except a small fridge. The room fits 4 people but the table only fits two. Parking is free and the hotel staff is friendly. Swimming pool is small.

The A/C was temperamental and would not work consistently. Had to consistently turn on and off manually to stay comfortable. On the first morning at 6am we were all awaken to a very loud noise of someone screaming through a bullhorn outside our balcony. Apparently there was a race going on at the park next door and they continued to scream for the next several hours. I wish we would have been notified about this before check in and we would have changed our reservation. The maid was very nice and super sweet very helpful. Front desk staff was also very helpful and the guy working at the bar in the restaurant downstairs was also very nice.

We went for yhe Sun Coast Festival. There were not enough waiters and waitress for the event. The resturant closed early due to lack of staff. Therefore, we went without eating. I had a very disappointing stay at the Sheraton Clearwater. I left my sunglasses in the room after checkout, called right away, and even came back, but they were “nowhere to be found.” I know exactly where I left them, they didn’t just disappear. The room was also in poor condition. The Chromecast didn’t work, and the sink was completely clogged. When the manager told us she checked the bathroom, she said, “All I saw was blue water in the sink,” which was especially frustrating. The blue water was from brushing our teeth, and it was still there because the sink wouldn’t drain. Between the missing item, broken amenities, and unhelpful staff, I won’t be returning. Do better.

The staff is very pleasant and helpful! We stayed in this property after we were evacuated from a different property during Hurricane Idalia the week before for our honeymoon. We booked through a third-party provider. When we checked in, the room we were given had a view of the tennis courts which were under renovation and filled with construction materials. When we voiced our displeasure to Danielle she apologized and immediately took us to tour 3 different rooms to better our view. She also had a bottle of champagne delivered to our room and gave us a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast buffet was a little pricey, but the food was good. Although we enjoyed our stay, we were disappointed that the gym was also under renovation and the beach was off limits due to standing water from Idalia. Opt for a pool view on the higher floors for a balcony with tables and chairs. Make sure the bed is a true Queen- I think we were stuck with a double and it was pretty small (and short). We would be willing to stay again.

We had a great stay. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. It was within walking distance of shopping and eating places. The beach was just a short walk from the hotel doors and was a nice to hang at the beach or at the hotel pool. Will definitely stay there again!

Recently renovated hotel that’s in Clearwater but not in the craziness. Check the recent pictures. The pool and beach area feels very private and not overfilled with tourists. It seemed that there were a lot of families who drove in to stay and not overly touristy feel at the hotel. Hotel rooms are small but feel nice and clean with the new decor. The restaurants are funky lit and not renovated but the food was fresh and the drinks were great. The pool bar and food truck were very convenient. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. They trolley is a fun option to get to main Clearwater area over the bridge. A lot of stuff to do at the pool and beach. Will come here again with family and kids.

Very friendly staff, our king bed room was large, clean and comfortable, large quiet secluded beach with chair rentals available, the free tram to the beach was fun and convenient! Across the bridge to the bustling Clearwater beach boardwalk with many shops/dining options with free trolley service.

i really loved this property! it's away from the main strip of clearwater so it's nice and quiet. there is a free trolley that can take you into the downtown area and it picks up about every 30 mins and it is just a quick ride downtown. about 0.3 miles down the road is a little strip mall type area with a little shopping area and some dining options. we went here for breakfast every day instead of eating at the resort. it's very easy to stay here if you are traveling without a car.

Just over the bridge to the dining and shopping in Clearwater though a bit removed from the hustle and bustle which was perfect for our beach getaway!! HIGHTY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT!

My husband and I were really pleased. We took our toddler to the beach for the first time and this hotel was a great choice! Situated right at the beach, great breakfast buffet and really good food at the tavern. We will definitely be back!

The hotel is right in front of the beach, but you need to bring EVERYTHING. There's nothing sold on the beach, not even water. You have to walk back to the hotel for everything—water, food, drinks—all under the scorching sun, while the beach staff are just chatting away instead of providing service to guests. There’s absolutely no service on the beach. You have to pay for an umbrella and beach chairs, which are extremely expensive at $69 (for one small umbrella that barely provides any shade and two chairs). Imagine paying $600 per night and having to walk 15 minutes every time you need a drink. The pool is very small. The cleaning staff talk too much in the hallways, and on Sunday morning, they were knocking on the door early to come in because we were leaving that day and they wanted to clean starting at 9 AM, even though checkout is at 11 AM. Plus, it’s far from the fun places. I do not recommend this hotel at all. One of the worst hotels I've ever been to.

Beautiful room, great staff. Pool was a hot tub, way small. Pool close at 11pm Pool bar closes at 9pm on weekends. Sat night one bar open and they close at 11 because the bartenders were tired. Only two restaurants onsite, same menu. no excursion onsite at all. Food was not bad, just topical.

This hotel is in a nice location directly on the beach, but it’s worth noting that it is a football field hike to the actual beach front. Visually however it’s wonderful from the balcony. Staff is nice not overly attentive. Pool was incredibly crowded, which was a downside for us hot tub filled with children which certainly makes it less relaxing. Location is good and there are restaurants that are easy to walk to. Wish there were chairs and umbrellas that you didn’t have to pay $50 a day. Rooms are nicely updated, and well organized, the small amenities shop is very helpful for basic things you need. They bar restaurant area has a lower end. Feel wished there was a nicer bar to sit and eat and look at the water. All in all a good stay.
