Room (106) was pretty, clean and with a great bathroom with walk in shower. TV was difficult to get working and it was set in an awkward position in the room. Bed was very comfortable though not sure if it was king size as per description. Excellent English breakfast. As there’s a pub downstairs, it was only quiet when the pub closed. We had a great stay

Easy check-in, very helpful staff. Dog friendly they even got a sausage for breakfast

Perfect for our two night stay. Room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Great breakfast selection and really helpful staff.

Where to start. We stayed at the Sutherland as we were attending a university open day. My daughter is satisfied so i requested a lower floor room and not a room in the second floor as there wasn't a lift and she isn't good with stairs. I shouldn't have bothered as we were given a second floor room which was dangerous with the steep stairs. The room was okay except for the 4 poster bed which was too big for the room so it was a tight squeeze to get past and meant the bathroom door didn't fully open. You need to sit sideways on the loo as that was a tight squeeze. We went to the restaurant for tea which was lovely. The food and service was excellent. We went back to to the room only to find there no WiFi signal on the second floor. Our tv showed connected to next doors room number wi-fi and wouldn't work. All at could get was bbc1 two etc. No Netflix or prime as no wi-fi. Thankfully my daughter fell asleep and slept through what happened next. Banging & shouting from the floor below, then the occupants of the next room came in slamming the door before shouting and swearing, very loud bang, more swearing before an un-eiree silence. The door didn't lock from the inside so the night was spent on edge. In the morning the full extent of the incident became clear. They had walked into a going girls room, woken numerous people and multiple complaints. How they had been served in that condition. Most distressing night in any hotel
