The pool was closed because of maintenance, so that was disappointing, especially because no discount was offered for the loss of an amenity. Other than that, the room was good, and the staff was great.

We stay here for Oktoberfest. Enjoy the pool with it's indoor and outdoor design, good temperature, huge hot tub, and also the bar with free pool and darts.

I like the hotel overall and will stay again. Biggest challenge is the hotel is a local event center and tends to have constant weddings. This packs the hotel in terms of the food areas, pool areas and the parking lot is full so guest end up having to park in a nearby ramp and walk. Would be nice if paying guests got a parking pass to put in the car for the hotel lot and local people attending the events parked in the ramp which is on the event center side of the property instead of filling up the hotel parking. Plus the bathrooms are tiny with limited counter space and almost no hooks for hanging up towels and swimsuits.

Amazing gem of a hotel! The cleanest hotel I have stayed at since I have stayed at hotels. The staff is cordial. The breakfast is more or less what you would expect elsewhere, but the breakfast area like the rest of the hotel is extremely clean, comfortable and aligned with the hotel theme. Very very welcoming!

Overall, the carpet appeared dirty, the pool was filled with bugs and leaves, and there was 4 foot tall weeds underneath the canopy in front of the hotel.

Really a neat hotel -- the staff was excellent, as was the breakfast. The only negative I would give is the cleanliness -- the room was clean, but there were a lot of details missed in the room & the hotel in general. They need a good deep clean to keep this cute hotel looking nice.

We had a one-night stay as part of a family road trip around Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We previously lived in the La Crosse area and always heard great things about Stoney Creek, so we were excited to stay here. Overall, we were extremely disappointed and frankly, parts of the property and our room could only be described as gross. Our two-bed room on the lower level had mold on the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, and a musty smell. The bathroom door would not close unless you put your shoulder into it. The room felt very damp. The kids were excited for the pool - the pool area was absolutely disgusting. It’s an “indoor-outdoor pool,” but the indoor pool area had large spiders all over the walls, and there were three frogs and all sorts of bugs swimming around the indoor part of the pool (we rescued the frogs and put them outside). The water felt slimy and clearly is not being treated at appropriate levels if frogs were swimming around living their best life. At checkout, we were not even asked how our stay was. It is very clear maintenance/upkeep is not a priority here. Even outside, all of the landscaping is overrun with weeds. For $210 for one night, this was an awful experience. We would not return.

Pool area is great with a huge pool and hot tub. The room could use a little love. It had higher ceilings and there were cobwebs. Cobwebs in the stairwells too. Peeling wallpaper in the room in several places. Water stains on ceiling as well. Walls are very thin so could hear our upstairs people walking anywhere they went. Bar area was nice, just wish they would advertise when the kitchen closes as it was closed before the bar closes at 11. Staff was great and breakfast was pretty good.

Very disappointed no one‘s ever at the front desk had to wait 10 minutes this morning for somebody to finally get to the front desk. Went to use my Keurig, and there was old scummy water in it, Kleenex box was taken out of the holder, empty not one put back in, there’s a yellow stain on my comforter cover and the windowsill, not dusted there’s bugs in the windowsill. Highly disappointed this place used to be amazing. Also hate the fact that they have digital TV, which is fine but why does it go right to Fox News? You turn on the TV automatic Fox News don’t like that either. Tub didn’t drain was up to my ankles sink takes forever to drain. The place. Needs a little work.

We've stayed in a K-whirlpool suite a few different times in the past & enjoy the spacious room & comfortable beds. What makes this place different, is that a free drink at their downstairs bar is part of your stay! In case you're a bit hungry, they also offer a small 'bar food' appetizer menu to enjoy with your beverage of choice. As for the in-room whirlpool tub, the jet power is not very vigorous, but still enjoyable within the privacy of your room rather than a common hot tub. Also, it would be nice if there were darker window treatments besides venetian blinds, but understandable considering the western decor.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and our king room was impeccably clean, spacious and peaceful. We were on the third floor this time (no one walking around above us). We were here two nights and the breakfast was very, very nice ... eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, potatoes - what a value! Each staff person we spoke with was very nice as well ... the bar downtstairs was enjoyable too! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We really enjoy this hotel and have gotten the jacuzzi room two times now. We love the woodsy look of the place and the spacious layout. It feels like a getaway even though it's right near the city. The only downside is that you can't light block the shades as they are just blinders to open and close, and I am sensitive to light. In some places in the bathroom the wallpaper is peeling away somewhat. But these are relatively mild criticisms in light of how enjoyable stay it has been for us.

Loved the spaces at the end of the 2 and 3rd floor halls where family could congregate. King room was very roomy. breakfast was good but wish decaf coffee was an option. Didn't like how dark the bathrooms, hallways, lobbies were. The hotel is showing it's age and could really use a refresh. Even though the room was large,the bathroom was tiny without much counter space.

Hotel overbooked and gave our room away so when we arrived to check in they had no rooms even though we prepaid, with VIP access. When refunded we still had a $30 booking fee we didn't get back.

Checked at almost 1am as they kept saying they had to get it ready! Finally got the room just to go to relax in jet tub and find out motor is super weak hardly pushes any water out. Ceiling fan not working, air won’t stay on. Then to top it all off the hot tub is also closed never got told anything during booking. So no relaxing at all exspensive nights with a giant bath tub. Went to front desk and got told they have no other rooms and that I “can just deal with it”. Then back again in the morning that lady says we had one left but I gave it to someone else, did not think you wanted to move rooms. Really all broken and want to stay NOT. Refused all refunds or even certificates to stay at a later time and got told a manager would contact me when they get time just for that to never happen or they don’t have one. Complete waste of my money for a broken basic room and not a whirlpool suite.

Sub par service - called front desk 3 times with no answer - walked down to front desk to a sign “be back soon.” Towel rack empty in pool area (8:30pm). Check in was quick however no mention of pool/bar hours anywhere nor the fact we were put in a smoking room. We wanted to be moved, but the phone calls/visit to desk went un-answered. Fire alarm went off around 915pm for a few minutes. Upstairs guests were very loud/disruptive - no answer at front desk again. Continental breakfast was great. Room was clean.

I had to wait 15 min in the lobby to check in at 8:30 pm because no one was at the front desk. I was told they switched my reservation from 2 queen beds to a king with a cot - I didn’t feel that paying over $200 for one of my family to sleep in a cot, especially since my reservation was made 9 months in advance. After asking for the manager a room with 2 queen beds was found. I was charged $199 even though the Orbitz charge was $166 - I am very disappointed with the management of this hotel!

The staff is amazing and accommodating - was visiting and had a family emergency which extended my stay from 4 days to 10 days - staff kept my same room rate and supported my stay - amazing breakfast as well - well worth the value

Hotel seems very understaffed. Check in took almost 1/2 hour Room could have been cleaned better No pool towels Bartender definitely didn’t want to be there Breakfast area was a mess and not able to keep up with food for how many guests were there, so. Property and rooms are very nice. Bed was comfortable. Nice onsite bar area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Onsite parking is limited but a parking ramp is a short walk away. Would stay here again.

Stoney Creek had a cozy feeling to it. The room was clean. The location was close to plenty of stores and restaurants. I would recommend Stony Creek if you're staying in the Onalaska area.

Our room was very clean. All staff that we interacted with was very friendly. We enjoyed our two free beverages in the bar on site and close proximity to shopping and restaurants.

I like the hotel overall and will stay again. Biggest challenge is the hotel is a local event center and tends to have constant weddings. This packs the hotel in terms of the food areas, pool areas and the parking lot is full so guest end up having to park in a nearby ramp and walk. Would be nice if paying guests got a parking pass to put in the car for the hotel lot and local people attending the events parked in the ramp which is on the event center side of the property instead of filling up the hotel parking. Plus the bathrooms are tiny with limited counter space and almost no hooks for hanging up towels and swimsuits.

Breakfast is always a hit or miss in the last year. It is very frustrating when you are in a rush and there is no food in the trays and you have to wait for the food to come out. This has happened the last couple of times I stayed there.

Loved this hotel!! Very clean, such a cute theme. Pool was great. Rooms very clean. Comfy beds, lots of pillows. Walkable to restaurants, stores, and mall. Safe well lit parking lot. Wonderful free breakfast! I’ll definitely be back!!

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and our king room was impeccably clean, spacious and peaceful. We were on the third floor this time (no one walking around above us). We were here two nights and the breakfast was very, very nice ... eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, potatoes - what a value! Each staff person we spoke with was very nice as well ... the bar downtstairs was enjoyable too! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I booked a King Room for 127. We were upgrade to a huge room with a whirlpool because they were out of Kings for the same price. It was beautiful. I am sure the other one was nice too. Breakfast was great. Bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, cereal and breads. Make your own pancakes were simple and delicious! Great stay.

My husband and I booked a King Room for 127. We were upgrade to a huge room with a whirlpool because they were out of Kings for the same price. It was beautiful. I am sure the other one was nice too. Breakfast was great. Bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, cereal and breads. Make your own pancakes were simple and delicious! Great stay.

The breakfast was lacking especially if you are gluten free. Usually there is a cereal or meat but the only meat was sausage gravy. No fruit, no bacon, the eggs were like sponges. The room was fine. We were put in a spot that was loud (next to stairs) and the front desk moved us as soon as we left them know. The pool area is really dark but the swim outside is cool. The bed was not great. The tv stations were better than most other hotels. Our room was clean. I am not sure why there is a resort fee included in the cost. It’s not different from a basic hotel.

The bar was supposed to be open til 11. I went down at 9pm to get a pizza and i was told they were no longer making food. In the morning, a housekeeper walked into the room after knocking once at 830am. Waking me up on my birthday and the one day i didnt have my 33 young kiddos. I felt very disrespected that early in the morning. I called for a late check out and i was granted it, they said they were going to mark it down. I got a knock on the door at 11am asking if i was checking out, and i had to once again tell them that i already called and was told i could stay later. It was just unprofessional. I love stoney usually. I go every year on my birthday for a night away. The staff needs to do a better though with how things went this time. Definitely not happy this time.

Enjoyed our stay. Hotel has space to meet on almost every level. The outdoor portion of the pool needed a cleaning. Room was clean. Both days we were there breakfast food didn't stay stocked. The front desk attendant could have provided information such as breakfast and our vip access. Bartender was friendly and a hard worker. We plan on going back.

Very nice, some noisy guests in hallway but was still able to sleep. Bathroom layout a bit different, hard to close door but it worked. Very nice hotel and a reasonable price.

Details matter, and this property just falls a bit short of being recommended. The trip here started with being notified that the fitness center was closed for renovation. It was a "selling point" when the trip was booked. The beds are worn to the point of feeling like sleeping in a bowl. The room showed wear-and-tear on areas that shouldn't be for a property of this price level. The microwave in the lobby doesn't work (to heat up the snacks that are also sold in the lobby)...and wasn't labeled as out-of-order. Probably the worst aspect of the trip was while at breakfast, we witnessed a maintenance staff member kill a bat with a rock on the sidewalk (throwing the rock multiple times on the animal) right outside the window of the breakfast area. That could have been handled better.
