The location was excellent, very close to the beach. The water pressure was very poor in our room in both the sink and the shower. The pool was great as was the observation tower. We had a storm roll through and I didn't hear a thing!

Great location for true OBX experience! Close to Ocracoke ferry and amazing access to the beach! Great shell and rock hounding! Facility's internet access stunk and no operating ice machine. Great dining at the Cockeyed Clam!

The room was clean and spacious. Beds were very comfortable and we had a large TV. The pool was large and amazing. Above all, the staff was so friendly and helpful. Plenty of food choices and shopping nearby, makes it the perfect place to stay. Will definitely want to stay here again.

This is a great budget-friendly option in Buxton. The owners are very thoughtful and attentive to your needs. Extra towels, linens, and anything you need are available 24hrs in the main lobby - Just a few steps from any room. The location is very close to the Point and the bait shops for fishermen. They have a freshwater washdown and a fish cleaning station in the back of the property. This is a sportsmans secret in Buxton.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We had an amazing time! Our room was very clean and it was easy to check-in and check out. It only takes about 2 minutes to walk to the beach. And when we got back there is a shower where we can rinse off and then get into the pool. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Hatteras.

Although this hotel is right on 12, it was very quiet. Pool was perfect. Location was a 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 to the National Park (Hattaras Lighthouse). Great place for the money.

Discovered bloody sheets upon going to bed. Also the couch had a bunch of cigarette burns. Couldn’t find anyone at the desk. Had to call a number I found online. Finally got ahold of someone who tried to hand me new sheets. We requested a new room. Switched rooms and everything was unplugged and room smelled and there were holes on the wall.

Have never stayed before, received a call and text that we could have an early check in which was great.. arrived, rooms are spacious, at first sight appear clean however upon searching for an outlet to plug in phones noted toenails, debris, dust on the floors and around the beds. Absolutely disgusting. For what we paid to stay for a night(2 rooms) absolutely ridiculous. Rooms are dated, few convenient places for plugging in/charging devices. Air conditioner barely keeping it comfortable. Disappointed, overcharged and overheated.

We like the convenient location to the beach. The property has a water hose to rinse down after coming off the beach. The staff are nice, and helpful but this time the rooms were not cleaned properly, which prompted a visit to the local store for cleaning supplies. Last guest clothing, eye glasses and trash were found behind the night stand when we were plugging in phone charger. It is a affordable motel but clean is important to me, personally.

We booked this property last minute and if i could have given zero stars on cleanliness, i would have. I took photos of hair on the "clean" towels, wad of hair on the sheets, pizza sauce hardened to the table, blood on the wall afjacent to the sink and sugar all over the coffee counter. Unfortunately, we were stuck here, there werent any other places with availability. We felt "lucky" to have found a toom for the night...but now understand why this Inn wasn't fully booked.

Hatteras Island Inn was clean and comfortable beds. Shower was nice and air conditioner worked great. Pool was good also. Walking distance to the beach. Some dinning options you had to drive. Light house was closed for repairs at this time. Our overall stay was excellent quiet and relaxing. Thank you it was our first time here.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room looked immaculate. It may have been recently remodeled as the carpet, furniture and linens looked brand new. Location is convenient and staff courteous. Great find!

There was no staff to greet us; instead, there was just a kiosk that worked sporadically at best for checking in. The rooms were dirty, and in one of them, I found a large spider that terrified me into thinking I wouldn’t be able to sleep in that room. The paint touch-ups on the walls were mismatched, the carpets were damp, and overall, it was a terrible stay.

Good place and good value. Paper thin walls that you can hear every conversation from the next room through, and some minor damage to the room that wasn’t repaired. No soap in the shower soap container which was frustrating. Overall though, good service, nice staff, and good value. Would stay again if traveling through.

Checking in was fine. Room was adequate, clean, but they didn't do a very good job renovating. Paint peeling on bathtub, drain in sink barely worked, some lights not working. Walls in poor condition.

Our room was so musty that we had to leave our door open for hours to try and get the smell out. At first I thought I could not stand the smell but opening the door helped a little. Probably would not stay there again. Also the people in the room next to us were having a big fight yelling and swearing. It was scary.

We’ve stayed here every time we visit, which is now about 6 times. Never have had a single complaint or major issue. If you get a first floor hotel room it tends to be a bit musty from previous flooding but nothing to switch rooms over. A/C unit works great, has a fridge and microwave, comfortable beds, nice little bathroom, and if you go in peak season Food Lion 8 minutes up the road is 24/7. Makes for a very fun and affordable trip to the best place in all of North Carolina. 24/7 check in saves your behind when you realize how long the drive is to Hatteras Island.

We stayed here for 1-night on September 30 where it is would be considered shoulder season as there wasn't a lot of tourists or traffic. $200 a night is NOT a great value when we see light coming through the entry door, there were many issues with the toilet (even though it worked), rust and bad repair job on the tub, pillows that weren't great, VERY weak water pressure in the shower, and no breakfast.

Room was spacious and clean. Mini fridge, nice shower, and A/C. Our A/C was running nice and cold, but the room didn’t have a lot of air flow so it was noticeably warm during the night. Check in and check out was easy. Inn is located on the main strip of Buxton with lots of walkable convenience stores, restaurants, and fun things to do nearby. If you’re driving, you’ll have tons to do and eat. About a 3 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

wellllll...when the heat came on it sounded like a mack truck was coming through the front window. when the heat wasnt on the pipes somewhere in the building was groaning so loud it would wake you. on friday i tried to watch a ballgame on tv but the pixels were so bad that i couldnt so i just listened to the game. when i got up on sat the tv wouldnt even come on so i packed up and left a day early. oh yes i forgot that when i first got there the room they gave me had a filthy tub and i told them i wouldnot take a shower in that room and they did give me another

We arrived late due to ferry schedules. Hotel called us to make certain all was OK and that our room was ready for whatever time we arrived. Video kiosk check in was different but worked well and person at other end was pleasant

That staff could not be more helpful or friendly. I wasn't sure of the length of my stay and when booking additional days I needed to change rooms. The lady on shift with housekeeping found out I was changing room, went to the office, got me the new keys and the items I needed to sign so I didn't have to do anything but go to the next room. My phone also died while I was in town. They had me email my directions to them & printed them out for me. Great central location, comfortable bed. will return.

I arrived at 1:10 AM, but the self check-in kiosk closes at 1AM. I tried to call the number listed for the customer service desk. But no answer. Even using the phone attached to the kiosk rang a number, but no answer. I ended up sleeping in my car in the hotel parking lot. And was not offered any reimbursement other than a "I'm sorry, I was tired" Other than that, the rest of my two other days was good.

Normal cheap hotel that was perfectly fine for a few nights. Bed was good and room was fine. You check in at a kiosk with some outsourced workers that you video chat with. Hard to get information about the area when they are in another country.

Overall, I would recommend the Hatteras Island Inn. The room was very clean. The location was great if you want to view the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (1.5 miles away.) There is also a stretch of usable beach within walking distance. They do use a "virtual" assistant late after 9 pm or so. The washing machine left my clothes without rinsing and there is a weird virtual kioski where someone answers via a Zoom-like technology. They said no assistance was available until morning, regardless of the matter. I am glad we weren't locked out the room, as there are no real nighttime staff for emergencies.
Overall, I would recommend the Hatteras Island Inn. The room was very clean. The location was great if you want to view the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (1.5 miles away.) There is also a stretch of usable beach within walking distance. They do use a "virtual" assistant late after 9 pm or so. The washing machine left my clothes without rinsing and there is a weird virtual kioski where someone answers via a Zoom-like technology. They said no assistance was available until morning, regardless of the matter. I am glad we weren't locked out the room, as there are no real nighttime staff for emergencies.

Phone call when room was ready!! Awesomeness i have never experienced and we were able to check in early! That allowed us a little extra time to enjoy the pool. Our second stay here and definitely not our last!

Nice place and good value. Rooms were clean. Bed was fine. Rooms aren’t serviced during your stay so you have to go to office to get clean linens/more toliet paper but not a deal breaker. Check in was easy and attendant was friendly.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room looked immaculate. It may have been recently remodeled as the carpet, furniture and linens looked brand new. Location is convenient and staff courteous. Great find!

There was no staff to greet us; instead, there was just a kiosk that worked sporadically at best for checking in. The rooms were dirty, and in one of them, I found a large spider that terrified me into thinking I wouldn’t be able to sleep in that room. The paint touch-ups on the walls were mismatched, the carpets were damp, and overall, it was a terrible stay.

Had a good experience with my stay here. This is a beautiful getaway with easy access to the beach, light house and the Cape Hatteras and easy access to the Hatteras ferry terminal that goes to Ocracoke Island

We had a wonderful stay at Hatteras Island Inn. It was great to have a pool and the room was comfortable. Walking distance to town and the beach were a plus.

Although this hotel is right on 12, it was very quiet. Pool was perfect. Location was a 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 to the National Park (Hattaras Lighthouse). Great place for the money.

I have stayed at this hotel twice, and I probably will again. But not to stay for a period of time, just as a stopover. It meets the minimum requirement of an acceptable “cheap hotel”: You can see that there has been effort made to keep it clean. They try, and therefore, I feel like I can trust them to give me a good place to sleep for a night, do my business in the bathroom, and shower in the morning. Beyond that, “you get what you pay for.“ The heating and AC didn’t work as well as they should, the sofa had sink holes in it, one of the lights flickered continuously, in the in-room coffee was kind of horrible. But these things are far less significant than cleanliness problems would have been. I needed a cheap place to stay for one night, and I needed it to be clean, trustworthy, and safe. This fit that bill. You could tell that everything was wiped down, swept, vacuumed, basically made as nice as it could be. One more note. The last time I stayed here, they had coffee in the lobby in the morning (none this time) and a more attentive desk staff. I don’t care TOO much about that stuff, but the change does indicate that there’s some entropy going on.

Only problem was the a/c unit made rattling noise constantly which made it hard to get to sleep and stay asleep. Also no coffee and or breakfast products avaliable for guests.

The property and the room were clean. Sheets, towels, and room amenities were readily available. The hotel staff did not come in the room during our stay (2 nights) which was fine. I'm sure they would have addressed any problems if we had requested. The air conditioning was comfortable there was also a dehumidifier in the room. Coffee supplies were in the room and available in the lobby anytime

My only complaint was the drunk girls at 230am and 4 am with no consideration for anyone else sleeping at those hours, with the hotel unmanned there's no one there to complain to or to remedy the problem. I talked to several people that were not real happy with them. Other than that issue great place,location,clean
