Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. It’s the older style of hotel where you leave your key with the front desk when you go out. All front desk staff spoke English although I enjoyed practicing my French. We had two rooms—the more expensive room had a sweeping view of the city and the sea. North Americans will notice that the rooms don’t have much additional seating but this is Europe. Rooms were very clean and I did not notice a lot of dust or any bad smells. The neighborhood is residential and quieter than many in the city. It is also on a fairly steep hill. We are in our early 60’s and in good shape and enjoyed the walking. We used the private parking, which is limited. We were initially told there was no availability but when we checked in they told us they had a spot. We were there in October and saw occasional spots on the street as well. I assume availability will depend on the season. I took the continental breakfast as there did not seem to be options right near the hotel. It was good. This was a decent hotel with no bad surprises.

Absolutely impeccable, 5-star service made our anniversary stay unforgettable. The concierge was very helpful and attentive. The hotel is super clean (not even the tiniest water drop mark in the bathroom) and very well positioned in a quiet area. We could only hear the birds singing. The best part was the garden with the pool, lemon trees and huge pine trees. Next time we will be back for the room with panoramic sea view.

What a great place! My wife and I checked in for 3 days. Right in heart of Nice in the hill. Granted it’s a hike walking up the hill but less than 10 min to flat part of town. The hotel is a hidden gem with private gardens and pool area. The staff were amazing and served us drinks and snacks at the pool. Could have stayed at pool for weeks. It was our own private oasis surrounded by chirping birds palms and pines. We stayed for dinner two nights and food was decent. We would go again. Luxury stay.

What a wonderful experience we had during our stay!!! They have the most wonderful staff, super helpful, pleasant, courteous, and truly show how much they love what they do. We appreciate you Felippe, Simon, Kevin for all your generosity 🙂. We don't remember all the other staff names but everyone was amazing!!!. What a lovely place, the decor was tasteful and everything was extremely clean. The hotel is on top of a mountain and you can see from the room balcony the beautiful scenery of Nice. Also, what an amazing breakfast display with an array of delicious goodies. Thank you everyone for making our stay an amazing experience!!!!!

The hotel was wonderful! Clean, decorated well, great breakfast. I was particularly pleased with the concierge/front desk staff. They recommended the best places to shop and eat. I had one of the best meals thanks to Kevin. Would definitely recommend.

My daughter and I had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel du Petit Palais! From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the quiet elegance of this beautifully maintained property nestled above the city. The hotel itself is full of character, with stunning views over Nice and a peaceful, boutique feel that makes you feel instantly at home. Our room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated — a perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing along the French Riviera. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay, offering thoughtful recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. One of the highlights was the lovely pool area — tranquil and uncrowded, with just the right amount of sunshine and shade. It was the perfect place for a relaxing dip in the afternoon. The location is quiet and residential, which we loved, yet still close enough to reach the city center, beaches, and Old Town with a short ride or a pleasant walk. Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. It’s the older style of hotel where you leave your key with the front desk when you go out. All front desk staff spoke English although I enjoyed practicing my French. We had two rooms—the more expensive room had a sweeping view of the city and the sea. North Americans will notice that the rooms don’t have much additional seating but this is Europe. Rooms were very clean and I did not notice a lot of dust or any bad smells. The neighborhood is residential and quieter than many in the city. It is also on a fairly steep hill. We are in our early 60’s and in good shape and enjoyed the walking. We used the private parking, which is limited. We were initially told there was no availability but when we checked in they told us they had a spot. We were there in October and saw occasional spots on the street as well. I assume availability will depend on the season. I took the continental breakfast as there did not seem to be options right near the hotel. It was good. This was a decent hotel with no bad surprises.

Phillipe met our car and checked us in. He offered us a lovely upgrade for a minimal charge. He ace us suggestions for walking and for restaurants. The hotel is quietly stylish and comfortable in a residential area only 10-15 minute walk to the hustle bustle of Nice’s downtown. Our room was well equipped and we enjoy a small balcony with a view of Nice and the ocean. On our last night Phillipe made us a reservation at a wonderful Michelin rated restaurant. It was outstanding! I will stay here again.

This is a lovely “petit” hotel - very well maintained and presented, friendly service, well managed, good breakfast. The deluxe room with sea view/balcony is very tight (e.g. towels hung on towel rail virtually touch the toilet, open door virtually touches the bed, no mirror over dressing table/desk as no room). It has a standing room-only balcony and very distant glimpse of a sea view. During our 5 night stay, complimentary water, tea/coffee and toiletries were not replenished after use (they were provided when requested.) Unfortunately its location is not convenient for tourists. It is a long, steep walk to the town centre and not well served by public transport. Ubers to return from the main restaurant areas averaged €14 during our stay. This may be cheap for EU/US visitors but not for us from the UK. Overall, I wish I had booked a less pretty room in a better location as the compromise wasn’t worth it on this occasion. (Note to all readers: I review for the benefit of other travellers, not the establishments, which I hope is helpful - the staff here were all worthy of a very good rating but I have written the review ai wish I’d have read before booking.)

The hotel was wonderful! Clean, decorated well, great breakfast. I was particularly pleased with the concierge/front desk staff. They recommended the best places to shop and eat. I had one of the best meals thanks to Kevin. Would definitely recommend.

Without exception, every staff member on the property was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, especially Kevin. Kevin recommended outstanding non-touristy restaurants, made our reservations, and made sure we had on-time transportation to the airport. We look forward to seeing him each day!

I just returned from a week’s stay at this beautiful boutique hotel and it exceeded my expectations! The hotel is lovely, exuding charm around every corner. From the moment I arrived, the staff were extremely attentive and went above and beyond. A big thank you to Philippe, Kevin, Daniel and all the staff at the hotel, who not only provided amazing recommendations, but happily made arrangements for us. I very much enjoyed the amazing breakfast spread every morning and the torte of the day! Delicious! On the Friday night before we left, the hotel arranged a fantastic jazz duo for the guests, with champagne on the terrace and it was just magical. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend!

Absolutely impeccable, 5-star service made our anniversary stay unforgettable. The concierge was very helpful and attentive. The hotel is super clean (not even the tiniest water drop mark in the bathroom) and very well positioned in a quiet area. We could only hear the birds singing. The best part was the garden with the pool, lemon trees and huge pine trees. Next time we will be back for the room with panoramic sea view

We had an excellent stay for 6 nights. The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel and is one of a kind in Nice. It’s very elegant and the room we had was beautiful. It’s in a quiet neighborhood that is outside of all the tourist areas. It’s a 10 Minute downhill walk to old Nice and the promenade. I recommend taking an Uber back unless you are ready for a steep walk. The highlight of this hotel is Phillipe, the front desk manager. He made such an impact and was such a wonderful man to experience every morning. The hotel was great but he made it even better!

I cant really praise the Hotel and Staff enough. From taking the lead on organising transfers to helping with eateries and places to visit. We really couldn't have asked for more, the staff ( every single one) had a smile and friendly manor. The hotel its self had everything we needed and was in a quiet part of Nice , 5 min taxi ride from the centre and Old town. Thank you so much for everything

Dejligt hotel med idyllisk beliggenhed. Hyggeligt værelse med små overraskelser til gæsterne og dejlige produkter på badeværelset. Morgenmaden var standard. God nok men croissanterne var bløde og smagsløse alle 3 dage, hvilket var meget skuffende. Derudover var damen der styrrede morgenmaden den sidste dag meget sur, og gav mig en skideballe foran de andre gæster, fordi jeg havde taget en kop jeg ikke måtte. Det er under al kritik. Ud over dette et godt ophold

Great hotel in a quiet but accessible location. Easy to walk everywhere from the hotel. Throughly enjoyed my stay and was impressed with the quality of the room and the service. The only minor thing is that room service food wasn’t enjoyable at all and blackout curtains in the room weren’t wide enough to fully block out the light.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel (2 nights) but the room was smaller than expected and didn’t fully meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. The walls are thin since you could hear noise during mornings and sometimes evenings. The hotel has a pool but it is very small and we never used it. The hotel is situated on the hills on the eastern side of Nice which made it not walkable in the summer heat, we had to rely on Uber to get us to places in the downtown area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition but lacked a large closet for two people. The bed was big (proper king size) and comfortable and there was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room.

The walls are thin since you could hear noise during mornings and sometimes evenings. The hotel has a pool but it is very small and we never used it. The hotel is situated on the hills on the eastern side of Nice which made it not walkable in the summer heat, we had to rely on Uber to get us to places in the downtown area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition but lacked a large closet for two people. The bed was big (proper king size) and comfortable and there was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room.

The staff at this hotel were amazing - thoughtful, kind, and professional. I can't say enough about them and how they made my stay even better. The hotel itself is charming, clean, and well maintained, with nice touches. My room was great, a beautiful view of the city and the sea with large doors and a modern bathroom with great water pressure/temperature, etc. The pool area was quaint and a green escape. My only complaint which is not really a complaint, is how far it is from the city center if you are here without a car and looking to spend a lot of time in central Nice/by the sea. But at the same time it is set apart from the noise/crowds and the surrounding area of the hotel is very safe and residential.

For the price this is a nice hotel. The good: The service is superb. Every employee was friendly and helpful. The room was fine and clean. The shower pressure was excellent. The slight negatives: There are no ports to plug in, there is no desk to do work, the glass in the shower is very short so the bathroom gets quite wet with each shower. The location is up the hill off the beaten path. You have to be ok with that.
