Villa Petri - Uma linda casa tradicional com uma vista de tirar o fôlego!

Dimitri and the Villa Petri provide the loveliest of holidays in Greece. The property is perched high on a hill overlooking the small harbor of Petra with sweeping views of the surrounding hills. One wakes to the sounds of sheep bells and falls to sleep with the unusual scops owl. In spring from the villa, beautiful trails blanketed with wildflowers can be reached on foot or a short distance by car. Wonderful tavernas abound in Petra, and close by the villa, an excellent and friendly taverna is minutes away, set even higher than the villa. It is especially picturesque at sunset. The villa offers stunning sunsets and bright morning light as well. We loved the house with its many windows, a balcony upstairs, and a capacious terrace with many possibilities to enjoy the light at different times of the day. Olive and fig trees tumble down the slopes, and one can hear the Eurasian blackbird, song sparrows, and the chaffinch especially. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, and a lucky guest might be the beneficiary of the best eggs. A comfortable bed with fine linens and an excellent shower add to the comfort. Best of all are Dimitris and his wife Georgia, whose hospitality made our stay exceptional. One arrives a stranger and departs with new friends. Dimitris has much knowledge about the island and can suggest many day trips, all easily accessible from Petri. As well, access to the house is easy. We finished our holiday with precious memories of the villa and our hosts.

Wij kwamen om vogels, vlinders, insecten, zoogdieren en reptielen te vinden. Rondom het huis hebben we veel kunnen waarnemen, vastleggen en registreren. Ook in de omgeving was er veel gezien. Het huis en de tuin was een kado en de gastheer was zeer behulpzaam. Voor fotografen een prachtige plek om te verblijven en van hieruit op excursie / expeditie te gaan. De tuin en geen nabije buren gaf vrijheid om ook in de nacht op onderzoek uit te gaan, nachtvlinders vast te leggen etc.. Echt een aanrader met uitzicht op de zee.

The moment we saw Villa Petri, we knew we picked the perfect spot. From panoramic sea views and lush foliage outside to tasteful decor and spotlessly clean surroundings inside, the villa lives up to its billing and more. Beyond all that, the hosts, Dimitris and Georgia, couldn’t have been more welcoming, gracious and accessible. Even before we booked the place, Dimitris promptly addressed all our questions and concerns. These hosts embody the reason why Greeks are known for their hospitality. If you’re considering a stay on Lesvos, don’t look any further than Villa Petri. I promise, you won’t regret it!

Dimitris and Georgias place was the perfect fit for us. It is very comfortable ,super clean and very relaxing serene. The beds comfy and Dimitris will go the extra mile to accommodate you (like when he set up an extra bed when we had an additional guest). The view is to die for, you are behind and above Petra village which allows you to gaze far into the horizon. The serenity and calmness almost healing. We rented a car and headed every day to different beaches and villages. Gréât adventures that Dimitris helped us plan! Petra, Molivos, Ag. Isidoros and Sigri were our favorites! Gréât beaches, great restaurants amazing beautiful island! You definitely need a car, a jeep of some sort. The house has all the amenities you might need and more! We loved it so much we are for sure coming back! Two weeks was not enough!
