No complaints with our room! Everything was clean and the beds comfortable. Nice toiletries in bath. Here’s a heads up, there isn’t an elevator, so if you have bad knees, request a ground floor room.

Nice, clean hotel. NOTE - NO ELEVATOR. I did not request first floor. When I arrived, they didn't have a first floor room. However they did get me one. I'm in my 70's and an elevator is needed when not on the first floor. Furniture is heavy older style. Seating was good, but chairs were hard to move. It would be nice if there were an adjustable office chair. Armchair would not go under the desk. Good TV and show selection. Location in town is great. Walk out the door and you are in downtown Potsdam. If I were younger and more fit, I would stay there again. Should I go back again, I may check out the Hampton Inn, farther away.

Our room was large and comfortable. The parking lot was also spacious and offered easy access to the facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. Downtown Potsdam, where the hotel is located, is largely deserted, with empty storefronts in most of the historic buildings. However, there is a beautiful riverfront park right next to the hotel that offers pleasant views of the water and surrounding scenery. Also, even though the Potsdam area does not offer boutiques or other high-end shopping or dining options, one can find department stores, discount outlets, grocery stores, diners and practical dining options just a few minutes away by car.

I love that the renovation was finally completed. Last Tim I was there it was almost done & I think they did a wonderful job. Especially the rooms. Very nicely done & the lobby too!

We had a lovely stay at this pet friendly hotel in potsdam. Nice large rooms, very clean, very friendly staff and a great location on the river. However, it should be noted that there is no elevator in the building. If you are put in a 2nd floor room, you will need to take the stairs. This will be a problem for people with mobility issues.

We knew there would not be breakfast and there would be some construction in lobby area but we would have a renovated room. It felt like the room was finished 10 minutes before we arrived. The shower caulking was done poorly (and quickly?). The second morning there was NO hot water and when we reported it, the only response was “oh.” There was construction materials and trash everywhere and dust was a problem. Parking was among containers as construction workers took spots closest to doors. There should have been a much more clearer indication of construction and much better management of this project

The bedroom was good, but bathroom was musty, moldy caulk, mold on the shower curtains, the vent fan did not work it was extremely loud and broken, no toilet paper, there’s just a sliding door to the bathroom that leaves a open crack so no privacy. The district manager at the front desk was not friendly but the cleaning ladies were nice and smiled at us. The Keurig was filled with dust/grime. I’ve been to other BW and they are much cleaner & the staff is friendly. I was not satisfied with our stay here. Even after touching the shower curtain we stank from the gross smell of the curtain. I notified the workers but they just said they’ll pass it on. We didn’t get a different room and/or nothing was fixed/changed. I know this BW is new to town but we won’t be back there. Thanks.

When we lifted the covers on our bed we noticed dirt stains on the bottom of our sheets. We immediately contacted the front desk and the staff member was pleasant and apologetic and gave us a new set of sheets. Some of our towels appeared used, so we used the ones that looked clean. Also, the next day we noticed egg on the floor heading to our room. After we left 30 minutes later, the egg was still on the floor after we heard house keeping walk by. As we were checking out, the staff member was very nice and apologetic and said she would love to give us a discount but can’t because we booked through a 3rd party.

The bathroom was not super clean. The beds were extremely firm and not very comfortable. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was pop tarts and muffins. It was not anything to write home about. I was surprised it was $150 for the night given those issues.

Clean rooms but place was a total mess because of construction. No coffee maker in room, phone didn’t work, shades didn’t go up and down, no breakfast available and was afraid to park in parking lot because of construction trailers and equipment everywhere.

The updates to the hotel are great. the rooms are above average size which is awesome. I personally love that there are multiple hooks and shelves to hang items. There was a beside table for the second queen bed. It's like the hotel had heard my complaints from over the years and did it all right here. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. My only slight negative is one of the bed sheets were stained and it just kinda grossed me out. but everythign else was amazing.

We arrived at 4:30 to find our room was not ready due to a “housekeeping issue”. We waited until 6:45 for our room to check in. The beds are rock hard and very uncomfortable and we ran out of toilet paper. Breakfast was minimal. On a positive note, the location is great, the rooms are large and spacious, and the price was reasonable. However, we wouldn’t stay again.

There were renovations ongoing that they described ahead of time. I was surprised by how thin the walls were. I could easily hear every word of the conversation next door and they weren’t loud. It was clean, safe neighborhood, and close to where I needed to be. Cute little park on the river out back.

The room was good and clean, and the staff friendly and accommodating. I had stayed here before and liked it, particularly the breakfast: fruit, yoghurt, skim milk, cereal, eggs. A pretty good breakfast. This time, however, there was no fruit, and no yoghurt. I stayed four nights. On the third morning there was also no milk, although there was cereal. Only on my fourth morning was there fruit and yoghurt. Why it should take three nights for the hotel to be content with offering their guests a substandard breakfast (they were waiting for a shipment, they told me) is beyond me, especially with a supermarket a quarter mile away. In fact, that's where I went to buy what the hotel should have offered. I suggest that management be more attentive to their guests.

Terrible stay when the youth hockey kids and parents are up past 2am running the halls, banging doors and being loud/ swearing all night in the lobby and throughout the hotel. Staff did nothing to stop it. Same thing happened last week too. I've canceled my future stays here and now booked another hotel. The eoom and location was fine, but when they care more about the travel hockey groups, im going elsewherre.

Terrible stay when the youth hockey kids and parents are up past 2am running the halls, banging doors and being loud/ swearing all night in the lobby and throughout the hotel. Staff did nothing to stop it. Same thing happened last week too. I've canceled my future stays here and now booked another hotel. The eoom and location was fine, but when they care more about the travel hockey groups, im going elsewherre.

Our room was large and comfortable. The parking lot was also spacious and offered easy access to the facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. Downtown Potsdam, where the hotel is located, is largely deserted, with empty storefronts in most of the historic buildings. However, there is a beautiful riverfront park right next to the hotel that offers pleasant views of the water and surrounding scenery. Also, even though the Potsdam area does not offer boutiques or other high-end shopping or dining options, one can find department stores, discount outlets, grocery stores, diners and practical dining options just a few minutes away by car.

The room was good and clean, and the staff friendly and accommodating. I had stayed here before and liked it, particularly the breakfast: fruit, yoghurt, skim milk, cereal, eggs. A pretty good breakfast. This time, however, there was no fruit, and no yoghurt. I stayed four nights. On the third morning there was also no milk, although there was cereal. Only on my fourth morning was there fruit and yoghurt. Why it should take three nights for the hotel to be content with offering their guests a substandard breakfast (they were waiting for a shipment, they told me) is beyond me, especially with a supermarket a quarter mile away. In fact, that's where I went to buy what the hotel should have offered. I suggest that management be more attentive to their guests.

Notified about construction after confirming reservation, no breakfast except old prepackaged muffins with an apple in a bag. They charged my credit card upon arrival even after saying we wanted to split the charge upon check out. Room was clean, but very thin walls, so noisy. Over all I would not recommend or stay there again.

Thr Inn offered us a very convenient location for college tours. The parking was easy, and from the outside it looked great. The rooms were clean, but fairly dated. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. One even printed out a document I had left at home. We did not know, until walking through the doors, that the hotel was under renovation, so we walked into a front area with stacks of boxes and materials. While we didnt hear any noise, our room was on the other side of the major renovation, so walked past open construction to get there. We booked the Inn because of convenience and the promise of hot breakfast. Unfortunately, due to renovations, the breakfast was a cold grab and go. I just wish we knew of those things in advance.

The bathroom was not super clean. The beds were extremely firm and not very comfortable. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was pop tarts and muffins. It was not anything to write home about. I was surprised it was $150 for the night given those issues.

Stayed for 2 nights in July and we had a fabulous stay! Hotel has the best location…. Right in town with a beautiful park by the river and all the restaurants right there. Staff was lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good and a nice touch. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Will definitely return!

This was my 2nd stay at this hotel. I stayed here about two years ago during the major renovation and had a good experience, so I was happy to return after the renovation and under Best Western. Unfortunately, this stay was disgusting. We checked in around 8:30 PM on August 25. The pet-friendly hotel smelled strongly of dog. Worse, our room had what appeared to be another guest's hair throughout the bedding: hairs on the pillowcases, between the sheets and blankets, and sticking out of the bedding. When I pulled back the fitted sheet, I found even more hair, dirt/wood chips and black fuzz trapped between the mattress & sheets. It was disgusting and made us question whether the bedding had been changed at all. The hotel was sold out, so we could not change rooms. Olivia at the front desk was excellent. She spent 15+ minutes vacuuming the mattresses and completely remaking the beds herself. She went far beyond what should have been expected of her. There were more problems: the heater set off the smoke detector, the toilet repeatedly ran and would not flush properly, there was a hair in my scrambled eggs, and the body wash was empty. I understand that toilets break and an occasional hair can end up in food. What is unacceptable is finding another person's hair and debris throughout the bedding. If this is the result of Best Western's housekeeping standards or policy, it is completely unacceptable. Guests should never have to sleep in bedding containing another guest's hair.

The room’s temperature control was broken and all we heard all night was doors slamming. We had an end of the hallway room. The staff was nice. Breakfast was good. The location was perfect for us dropping our daughter off to Clarkson University. We used an another app to make the reservation and we added a night later to our stay. Upon check in the staff member said it was not reflected in the communications and wasn’t sure if we could be accommodated. He did find a room for us in the end. But suggested we go through them directly for reservations.
