We had a great visit at the Rustic View Cottage. The cabin was large, open and had great space for our 10 month old puppy... both inside and the fenced area. The kennel area is stocked with towels and dog brushes, extra water and food bowls and fenced area with a doggie door to an outside covered kennel space. The cottage is on a dead end road, so there isn't much traffic or noise. There is a small park just 1/4 mile down the road that overlooks the Wisconsin River valley and is great for star gazing. There is a large open kitchen with all the cookware and spices you could need. The bathroom and bedrooms are large and there are two separate living rooms with their own TV. We would have had plenty of space if we would have brought the kids. The only downside is solely due to Wisconsin's abundance of mosquitoes. This year has been especially rainy, so everywhere is a mosquito haven. But, the Rustic View Cottage had a supply of OFF and citronella candles available for outside use. It was perfect for a getaway!

Loved this house. It is very roomy with two living rooms, dining area, two bedrroms with king-size beds. Very clean and comfortable. House is in a very private wooded setting. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the front porch. We don't have a dog at present but were amazed by the way the house is set up for those traveling with pets. The kennel is attaced to the house with a large indoor room for dogs and door the pets can use to access either a caged in outdoor space or a large fenced yard With trees yet! Never have seen such accommodations in our travels. It is a pretty drive thru the countryside to get to the many attractions in the area. Really enjoyed our visit.

Awesome cottage. The kitchen is fantastic and enormous! Good location that is secluded but a 20-minute drive to most attractions. Very clean. I will stay here again next time we visit if it is available.

We loved our stay at Rustic View! The onsite hiking and bonfire pit was perfect. It was a quick drive to Cascade for skiing and tubing. We also spent time in the Dells which was easily accessible. The house was very accommodating for our family of 5 and dog. The beds were comfortable with quality linens. Feels very remote but with easy access to area attractions.

The cottage is very clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows. The bathroom ‘makes it or breaks it’ for me and this one is clean, large and the shower has plenty of water pressure and hot water. The kitchen is well stocked. Bring a lighter or matches and lighter fluid if a campfire is desired. There is plenty of wood and kindling can be easily found. The campfire ring has many seating options for a group around the fire. The livingroom has a Roku TV which was great for us signing into our own apps to watch television. Remember to sign out on checkout 😊. We used the laundry and the machines are clean and work great. The grounds are beautiful. Our dog enjoyed walks thru the woods as did we! We had cold autumn weather and were able to experience some snow! We had a great time. Our plans changed and the hosts were easy to communicate with and accommodated our change in plans. The location is great if interested in skiing at Cascade or spending time in WI Dells. Portage and Baraboo are both close. The drive in the countryside is well worth the stay. It is stunning topography. Thank you for a peaceful stay!

We had a great time visiting the area with our family for a long weekend. The pictures of the house don't do it justice. It was extremely clean and spacious enough for our group of eight. The covered porch was great when it rained the one afternoon. The kids had fun playing in the large yard and exploring the trail. We used the fire pit every evening. We would definitely stay again if in the area!

We chose this house because of the close proximity to the hikes and all the other activities in the area (Dells, fishing, casino...) We especially liked the very thoughtful setup for the dogs, which includes an inside and outside kennel. We have 2 dogs and prefer to take them with us than to board them. The house met all of our expectations, and the dogs loved it too! It was very quiet and serene. Lots of room for the dogs to run around, and even trails in the woods right next to the house. Everything was about 20 to 30 minutes drive away, and the rides were beautiful. No traffic, just beautiful scenery. We saw a lot of deer along the way. We definitely would like to return, hopefully in winter to ski at Devils Head.

Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable rooms with a well equipped kitchen and fenced in area for our dog. Loved sitting on the covered porch and hearing owls and coyotes in the distance as night set in. Devils Lake State Park, Wisconsin Dells, The Crane Sanctuary and more are waiting for you to explore in this nice area.

We couldn't have had a better stay. The 4 of us attended the Great Dane Club of America National. This year it happened to be in the Dells. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place. The 4 of us really enjoyed the house and the surrounding area view. The house was extremely clean and well care for. I honestly can't think of anything I would have changed.

My husband, dog and I stayed at the Rustic View Cabin May 1-8, 2024. We absolutely loved it. The "cabin" was more a lovely, appointed home. It was quiet and peaceful. The interior was nicely decorated, and the kitchen had everything a cook could want. Our city dog loved the fenced in yard (so many new country smells), and on those occasions when we left to go out to dinner, he was safe and comfortable in the indoor kennel. We hope to visit this lovely haven again! Thanks to Wendy for keeping this "cabin" so clean, warm and welcoming!

We had a great "long weekend" visit to the property. Found the peace and quiet / nature we were looking for! Ample room - never felt cramped, all the expected amenities in good working order. Everything was meticulously clean and organized - wish we could have stayed longer. Within about 20-30 minutes from the MANY sights and activities Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells has to offer (which is a LOT!). We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a great getaway!

Wendy and Dean were amazing! A snow storm was about to hit that area and Wendy reached out to me letting us know we can come early to avoid it. So thoughtful! They came the next day, but not before asking if we were awake to plow and shovel. We thought that was so considerate. Their pictures really do it no justices. The places was even better than what’s online. We loved that we were able to bring our fur babies too! They had everything for pets! The house smelled great and very clean. We will definitely rebook!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Communication before/during/after our stay was wonderful and you get the feeling the hosts truly want to take care of you. As soon as we walked inside, we felt welcome and that the place was going to offer the peaceful, serene vibes we were looking for. Highlights were - the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, the master bed was very comfortable with nice sheets, the bathroom towels were thick and soft (which is often lacking at rentals), water pressure was great, and it was very dog-friendly. We were so "in the country" that at first I didn't believe we were so close to towns with restaurants, shops & bars - but with a 15 minute drive or less, there were all of these things. This property would be perfect for a Fall trip!

The house had everything we needed, more than enough pillows, blankets, towels and kitchen gadgets. We had our 7 month old lab who enjoyed the fenced in yard as well as the walking trails. Kennel was perfect, even provided dog bowls. The family snow boarded Devil’s head and Cascade as they were both about 10 minutes away. We had last minute guests who were welcomed with extra bedding, thanks Wendy. The only complaint would be that the Wi-Fi didn’t reach the bedrooms, for those who need it to sleep. We would definitely return!

We have stayed here multiple times and always enjoyed it. It is secluded enough that you feel totally removed from the bustle of daily life, yet close enough to Baraboo and Devil\'s\'s Lake to have access to good restaurants, shopping and outdoor activities. The kitchen is well stocked, linens and towels provided, as well as wifi, TV and even some DVDs if you want to relax with a movie. We always feel very at home here and if you want to "get away from it all" this cabin fits the bill.

Everything was meticulously clean and organized - wish we could have stayed longer. Within about 20-30 minutes from the MANY sights and activities Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells has to offer (which is a LOT!). We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a great getaway!

We had a great time visiting the area with our family for a long weekend. The pictures of the house don't do it justice. It was extremely clean and spacious enough for our group of eight. The covered porch was great when it rained the one afternoon. The kids had fun playing in the large yard and exploring the trail. We used the fire pit every evening. We would definitely stay again if in the area!

Wendy was very welcoming and even brought over her crockpot when she didn't have to.Only negative thing was the wifi and the channels on the TV. So hopefully when we come next time that will be fixed. All in all we had a great stay.

Roomy house with a lovely porch, big yard, trails through the acreage, and a wonderful fire pit. We enjoyed this quiet, country home and the nearby hiking trails and Dells boats.

My wife and I had a great time with our 4 young kids (7-11 years old) at this place. The kids were able to play in the snow a bit and we were close to skiing at Cascade (about 10-15 minute drive) or a 45 minute drive to the indoor water parks at the Dells. The place had a great kitchen that was well stocked. The bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The kids enjoyed the pull-out couch in the second living area. There is only one bathroom, but it is well-equipped and spacious. The shower valve was acting up a little on the last day, but we got it to work and Wendy was on it to get it fixed the day we left. Wendy was very attentive and reached out to us to make sure everything was good to go. Great property to spend some good family time!

This cottage was very nice, loved the kitchen and extra gadgets made cooking fun. My dogs had an amazing time, never had a fenced in yard for them, the Kennel was nice for my hubby and I to escape without them. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a retreat.. And the Stars were beyond beautiful no light pollution to disrupt the natural beauty. Wendy was so kind to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed. Look forward to returning when the weather is better.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Communication before/during/after our stay was wonderful and you get the feeling the hosts truly want to take care of you. As soon as we walked inside, we felt welcome and that the place was going to offer the peaceful, serene vibes we were looking for. Highlights were - the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, the master bed was very comfortable with nice sheets, the bathroom towels were thick and soft (which is often lacking at rentals), water pressure was great, and it was very dog-friendly. We were so "in the country" that at first I didn't believe we were so close to towns with restaurants, shops & bars - but with a 15 minute drive or less, there were all of these things. This property would be perfect for a Fall trip!

We brought our furry family and had an excellent stay. The location is wooded, quiet and in a great proximity to hiking (Devils Lake) and biking (Great Sauk Trail). Wendy promptly responded to any questions we had and the cottage was set up well for our extended stay (6 weeks). We spent a lot of time exploring Baraboo, Portage and surrounding area. Lots of good restaurants and take out nearby.

We love visiting this property. Very private place nestled in the woods, yet within driving distance to Devil's Lake, Portage, Baraboo, Merrimac or Wisconsin Dells. The owner is very accommodating and easy to communicate with. If you want to "get away from it all" this is a great place to stay!

Wendy and Dean were amazing! A snow storm was about to hit that area and Wendy reached out to me letting us know we can come early to avoid it. So thoughtful! They came the next day, but not before asking if we were awake to plow and shovel. We thought that was so considerate. Their pictures really do it no justices. The places was even better than what’s online. We loved that we were able to bring our fur babies too! They had everything for pets! The house smelled great and very clean. We will definitely rebook!

Beautiful, remote location. Very quiet! We enjoyed watching the snow fall in the woods. Close to ski areas, about 10 minute drives. The space was bigger and more spacious than we thought. We used the kitchen a lot, had what we needed. Made a great meal for New Years Eve. Watched some tv and movies. Bathroom was good for the three of us, shower was nice. Our dog was welcomed as it was a good space for her. The cottage was perfect for our stay!

We came for three nights the beginning of October. The cottage was in a beautiful, quiet, location surrounded by bluffs in their fall colors. It was super clean and the beds so comfy! Lots of space inside and out. Great fire pit, huge covered porch to sit and have coffee. Close to Devils Lake State Park, and fun shopping in Baraboo. Wendy the host was a gem to work with. You won’t be disappointed if you chose to stay here!!

Close to EVERYTHING! Crane foundation is amazing, wildlife park, casino, devils lake! The area is amazing, the vistas, lakes. We took the ferry from Lodi to Merrimac too. Then back to the rustic cottage for peace, nature, serenity at it's best!

We loved our stay at Rustic View! The onsite hiking and bonfire pit was perfect. It was a quick drive to Cascade for skiing and tubing. We also spent time in the Dells which was easily accessible. The house was very accommodating for our family of 5 and dog. The beds were comfortable with quality linens. Feels very remote but with easy access to area attractions.

Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable rooms with a well equipped kitchen and fenced in area for our dog. Loved sitting on the covered porch and hearing owls and coyotes in the distance as night set in. Devils Lake State Park, Wisconsin Dells, The Crane Sanctuary and more are waiting for you to explore in this nice area.

All the comforts of home and then some. Area is so serene, yet varied activities within a few miles. Host is a wonderful communicator and very accommodating. Large area to walk dogs, build a fire in the Firepit area (wood included as an added bonus) , park area 1 block away, large living space, wonderfully stocked kitchen, extra space for dogs, modern amenities, and so much more. I honestly can’t say enough good things. All neighbors are welcoming while out walking. We had a wonderful time relaxing and recharging. Our sincere Thank You.
