The room itself was decent, however I deliberately booked a place that advertised a pool and a hot tub. Both were not acceptable for my standards of being clean and the hot tub didn’t work.

This property was beautiful!! My only complaint was no elevator. I'm sure it was listed and I missed it, but going up 2 flights of stairs with a 40 pound suitcase is no fun...

Were not made aware of the fact that the pool is 'closed for the season'. It was not mentioned in any paperwork nor any of the booking information nor at check-in. My husband found out (AFTER being given towels FOR THE POOL at the FRONT DESK) by running into a sign on the gate to the pool! There is also a discrepancy between the information on the 'room card' regarding the free breakfast, which DOES exist but which we ALMOST missed by going OUT for breakfast because the card refers to it as a 'Continental breakfast'! Room had a musty, chlorine-y odor when we first entered, ironic being that the pool was closed!

Woke up around 3:00 to take the dog out and there was some guy trying to break into my car and steal out of the back of my friend's truck, security was slow to address the issue. Usually it's a pretty good spot, just a lot of lowlifes in the general vicinity.

Overall, it was a great value for a hundred bucks. The room was very large, suite size really, and had a jacuzzi tub and mini fridge, sitting area and fireplace, large bedroom and large bathroom with shower, sink and beauty counter (thiugh chair was broken and unsafe). The only downsides to the room were the lack of a comforter and the temp control was very unstable, so it was tough to get a comfy temp. The pool area is nice, though the pool itself was a bit dirty and the hot tub was broken. The breakfast was ok but we found it odd that they only allow every person one plate instead of allowing multiple trips- it actually wastes way more food bc people will put a ton on the plate instead of trying just a bit and going back as needed. We were here on a holiday so the restaurant was closed but seemed nice enough for the venue. A local told is the bbq joint nearby (less than half a mile) is amazing but it was also closed. All in all, I would stay here again if in the area (we were visiting a friend nearby)

Good Things: The room was modern with a large mural on one wall the was beautiful. Although they did gave me a different room than I had reserved, it did come with a kitchenette so that was a nice surprise, the second bed just wasn’t needed. Also, it had a spacious bathroom, cable tv, full length mirror, ac worked great, tons of parking for free, and free breakfast buffet is delicious and the kitchen staff is so nice! Not So Good Things: I checked all over my paperwork from when I reserved and the info on expedia but I could not find anywhere that it stated there would be a $100 deposit upon arrival, unless you had a pet, which I did not. I called the morning of arrival and asked about check-in procedure and was not told about this and due to the nature of my trip I did not have the funds. I was out in a very uncomfortable position and I had to beg a family member to transfer funds to me to even stay here and it did make the start of my trip incredibly stressful. However, Other than this lack of communication over the deposit, we had a lovely stay and would come back. Deposit came back the evening after we left which was also nice. But please make it more obvious that there will be one!!

Reasonably priced but the hotel is showing wear and tear. The shower head was extremely low flow/dribble. No elevator and I was on the second floor. Hallways/stairways a little dingy. The automatic sliding door was broken so I had to go around the long way every morning. Pool is only okay (not really inviting). On a positive note, breakfast was very good, staff was very polite, safe location and bed was very comfortable.

Wow has this property gone downhill. From the rude front desk employee, to the sign saying the restaurant is open Saturday’s when it was clearly closed. The rooms are tired and dated. Very dirty. Housekeeping is on request only, but they left a tip envelope in your room. Not sure why I’d tip for a complete lack of service. The parking lot at night has several people who lived in their car and took over the corner of the parking lot. Felt very unsafe, especially considering the door to the Manor building g is broken so it’s unlocked all the time. We booked three rooms for three nights, but left a day early because it was such an awful experience. The breakfast buffet was comical. Two individuals came in with a bag full of takeout containers and emptied almost all the food. They clearly weren’t even staying there since they didn’t have to precious breakfast tickets. Just bullied their way through and cleaned out the food, juice, and condiments. Was actually crazy to watch. Was a great hotel years ago, but honestly avoid this place now at all costs. The rooms are filthy, the grounds are unsafe, and the staff are miserable.

Where to begin, the room is extremely outdated and the appearance was clean, but not very well. Bathroom walls and door where dirty. The wallpaper was falling off the wall. The owner should be seriously considering closing down or a serious upgrade to the rooms. Horrible stay and would not come back . Please do not stay here.

The room was dirty and the building was not well maintained. There was an old dirty men’s under shirt in the closet which tells me they didn’t do a full sweep of the room before handing it to us. The towels had stains on them! And the tub drain was rusted to the point that it turned the running water orange! I wore flip flops in the shower…

The area outside is pretty when arriving. The staff were friendly when checkingin and out. They weren't aware of the conditions in the room they gave me. The staff member seemed surprised when I said duct tape held the carpet onto the tile in the main area. He was also apalled when I showed him pics of the patched but not painted walls and the discusting looking bathtub. Not to mention the pink splatter on the back of one bedroom door. What happened there? One is left to wonder. We cleaned a white cream off the carpet when we first got in the suite. I would like a refund for the 2 days I didn't stay there but have been denied by Lions gate. Very disappointed in the conditions compared to the pictures advertised.

My family and I really enjoyed this place. It had a small full kitchen, cute decor, comfortable beds, and a great breakfast. The whole place was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. It’s not the best part of town but you really can’t tell when you are at the hotel. It didn’t feel unsafe and It was quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

It’s gone downhill. Room has been hastily renovated. So poorly renovated the shower leaked and there’s mold on the wall outside of it. It’s so unclean the shower door is opaque from soap scum and hard water stains. It’s clearly never been cleaned property. Absolutely filthy room, yet there’s a tip envelope for the housekeeping staff who won’t even clean your room unless requested. Makes no sense. Just please avoid this place.

This is a converted barracks. The room had been refreshed and the bath surround tiled nicely. But, the louvered shades were broken and did not make the room dark. I asked for a very quiet room but it faced a street that people seemed to speed on. I noted upon check in that the room was near a stairwell and asked if I could be moved away from that and was told ‘it is not as close as it seems on this map and you won’t hear it’. It was 3 steps away and I did hear it. The ‘buffet’ breakfast looked to be Costco food sliced and set out on a single long table. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Great place with clean and spacious rooms. Food is great, or maybe it’s because it comes free with the stay. The bar and restaurant are in a different building, which gives a sense of going to a club away from the hotel. Only thing I didn’t like is that the doors can be accessed by anyone, which makes one question the security of the place.

The hotel is very quiet, which is a huge plus. It is outdated, but clean. The Wi-Fi was not working for us. The bed was comfortable and pillows were too flat. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
The hotel is very quiet, which is a huge plus. It is outdated, but clean. The Wi-Fi was not working for us. The bed was comfortable and pillows were too flat. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

The only issue was the air conditioning, it is regulated to the outside so they state. Outside was much cooler than inside. Couldn’t open any windows for the coolness. Had to ask for a fan which helped but we should be able to control our room temperature. We always run on the hot side. Other than that everything was good. I don’t think we would consider going there if the weather it hot due to not being able to have a cool enough room. Thank you

Overall, it was a great value for a hundred bucks. The room was very large, suite size really, and had a jacuzzi tub and mini fridge, sitting area and fireplace, large bedroom and large bathroom with shower, sink and beauty counter (thiugh chair was broken and unsafe). The only downsides to the room were the lack of a comforter and the temp control was very unstable, so it was tough to get a comfy temp. The pool area is nice, though the pool itself was a bit dirty and the hot tub was broken. The breakfast was ok but we found it odd that they only allow every person one plate instead of allowing multiple trips- it actually wastes way more food bc people will put a ton on the plate instead of trying just a bit and going back as needed. We were here on a holiday so the restaurant was closed but seemed nice enough for the venue. A local told is the bbq joint nearby (less than half a mile) is amazing but it was also closed. All in all, I would stay here again if in the area (we were visiting a friend nearby)

The room was quite nice, and the staff was great. I was unable to adjust the temperature in the room. The thermostat is preset, I am not fan of that. Walls are very thin and I could hear toilets flushing, plumbing noises and doors being opened and closed throughout the night.

Wow has this property gone downhill. From the rude front desk employee, to the sign saying the restaurant is open Saturday’s when it was clearly closed. The rooms are tired and dated. Very dirty. Housekeeping is on request only, but they left a tip envelope in your room. Not sure why I’d tip for a complete lack of service. The parking lot at night has several people who lived in their car and took over the corner of the parking lot. Felt very unsafe, especially considering the door to the Manor building g is broken so it’s unlocked all the time. We booked three rooms for three nights, but left a day early because it was such an awful experience. The breakfast buffet was comical. Two individuals came in with a bag full of takeout containers and emptied almost all the food. They clearly weren’t even staying there since they didn’t have to precious breakfast tickets. Just bullied their way through and cleaned out the food, juice, and condiments. Was actually crazy to watch. Was a great hotel years ago, but honestly avoid this place now at all costs. The rooms are filthy, the grounds are unsafe, and the staff are miserable.

I found the woman on the front desk when I arrived unhelpful and not welcoming at all. I had to return later that night to ask where breakfast was served and what were breakfast times. This should have been mentioned when I arrived. I was unsure how the coffee machine worked and when I asked her she simply said she doesn’t drink coffee. Thought that was a rude unhelpful reply as she should know how it works even if she doesn’t drink coffee. Part of my floor looked like it was being refurbished or under construction and there was a strong smell of resin in the hallway. No lift to the 2nd floor. There is disabled lift but no one explained how it worked so actually got stuck in it for few minutes as there’s no clear instructions how to use it. Also safe wouldn’t lock properly. Won’t be returning to this hotel or recommending to anyone.

The hot tub looked in awful shape - lots of areas with surface peeling. They even have a printed notice in your welcome sheet to ignore the appearance of the hot tub, so they are clearly aware. The biggest problem is the beds. I had checked into my room and was getting off my bed to take a shower when my foot was impaled by the sharp metal frame of the bed. The frame is hidden by the bed skirt, so it's impossible to see or even anticipate a sharp metal object is there. My foot was cut and bleeding and I immediately went to the front desk around to notify them of the issue. They offered me a band aid, but I wanted to talk to the manager. I was referred to Chris Burwell, the GM but he was never available as he was off site. I emailed him several times, but no response. I called his direct number, but it basically does not accept voicemails. So it seems that there is no way to contact him. Just horrible customer service. Also the manager of the buffet is really mean. She just has a horrible attitude to all the guests. Berating them for showing up with 5 minutes to eat. Just horrible. Needless to say this is quite alarming and dangerous, especially for my family with 2 young children staying with us in the room. Hopefully I won't get an infection from the rust.

This was my 2nd stay @ LionsGate Hotel in Sacramento CA. As before, host /all staff were pleasant, very attentive to my needs/wants, professional and made me feel very welcomed @ their establishment! My room was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Initially, I had an issue w/ my room key not working. Apparently, the room keys can easily be demagnetized & stop working when close to magnets( key fobs, phones, earphones, ect). Host fixed the problem quickly, gave me that info & no more issue 😏👍👍! I had a great breakfast, as always! Fresh , hot foods , cold foods , helpful // kind staff and good ambiance! My overall would rate as very good! Visited LionsGate Hotel in person the day before booking to verify 1hr early check-in. Staff was very courteous, professional & ensured me my needs were taken care of. Checked in on 2/13/24 w/ hotel staff Angelique & as promised , room was ready 1hr per my request! Very helpful, polite, professional & happy young lady that helped me! All staff from checkin, housekeeping and dining dept. were terrific & allowed me to have a great stay! Very clean , comfy room and very good breakfast!! I give LionsGate staff & hotel an overall (5)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for hospitality & service ! I 100% recommend staying @ this hotel when in Sacramento☺️!!

This facility is on the old McClellan AFB North of Sacramento. Quiet facility in a small community. This facility has utilized the Bachelors Officers Quarters of the base as its facility. there are many different size rooms. they have a restaurant facility on site. There is also a outdoor pool and Jacuzzi and they close at 830pm. Not at 10pm like most hotels. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. We did experience a bit of an air-conditioning issue, but the facility was able to get a fan into the room and the A/c was fixed shortly after. Overall, a nice surprise.

It was a large beautiful property out of the way and tucked away from the main roads and loud city life; yet, only about 15 mins away from the golden 1 arena in downtown Sacramento CA. The room was great and I really enjoyed it.

Eggs and bacon ok, biscuits and gravy were lacking due to poor quality gravy with a flavor that wasn’t bad but it was definitely odd. OJ was obviously from frozen concentrate and and was a bit more bitter and barely sweet. Service at breakfast was great. All staff I encountered during my stay were friendly and courteous.

Decent main breakfast options (eggos, biscuits and gravy, sandwich)that changed daily, plus the standard proteins and continental fare. Great staff and clean rooms. I only wish is at the hot tub opened earlier and closed later especially on the weekends.

Wifi didn't work for 4 of the 5 days I was there. The faucet leaked. Wallpaper had open seams in it. I was willing to overlook all of that, but here was the last straw: they nickle & dime you on the included breakfast! They give you passes for the breakfast for each day, which is fine. I had some cereal in a bowl first, then went back for eggs & sausage. It's buffet style, so I figured that was pretty normal - go back as many times as you want. But when I went back for some eggs and sausage, they demanded another pass. Apparently if you load up your plate that's fine, but if you go back for another serving, that's a giant problem. I selected this place because it advertised free wifi and free breakfast, and this place had neither. For $100 a night, I don't expect the breakfast police to hassle me over a dollar's worth of food.

I have used Lion Gate several times for proximity to events I attend. I find the place clean and safe, no frills. i had some small annoyances this visit. The remotes for TV did not work well. That is a plural because the replacement was slightly better. The hotel is in sort of a food desert. It is morr convenient to use the hotel's restaurant which is not bad. My events start early so the 630 breakfast start time is too late. I came by at 620 and the room is gated off so I could not grab something.

The automatic sliding door was broken so I had to go around the long way every morning. Pool is only okay (not really inviting). If it wasn’t for the dirty carpet, I would probably have given the property a higher rating! We stayed in 4117 which is a handicap accessible room. It was promoted as having a queen sized bed, but I believe it was only full sized. The room is a bit dated but it is comfortable and appeared clean for the most part. The exception was the dark colored carpet which felt tacky in bare feet; not in places, it felt like this throughout the whole room. Because the carpet was a dark colored it was not visibly dirty, but when I looked at my feet they were very dirty. (I had taken a shower and walked around barefoot in the room after and they were filthy from this carpet). I would stay here again, but only if they replaced the carpet. It felt so dirty I doubt shampooing it would be sufficient!.
If it wasn’t for the dirty carpet, I would probably have given the property a higher rating! We stayed in 4117 which is a handicap accessible room. It was promoted as having a queen sized bed, but I believe it was only full sized. The room is a bit dated but it is comfortable and appeared clean for the most part. The exception was the dark colored carpet which felt tacky in bare feet; not in places, it felt like this throughout the whole room. Because the carpet was a dark colored it was not visibly dirty, but when I looked at my feet they were very dirty. (I had taken a shower and walked around barefoot in the room after and they were filthy from this carpet). I would stay here again, but only if they replaced the carpet. It felt so dirty I doubt shampooing it would be sufficient!.

When we stayed at Lionsgate last Friday night, the breakfast the next morning was really good. However, we came back and stayed Tuesday night and the breakfast the next morning wasn't so great. There was no meat and no country style potatoes. I don't know the reason why, but it was a little disappointing.
