This hotel is not 4 star. It's a 2 or 3 at best. The decor is shabby and old fashioned and it needs an upgrade. The cleanliness is average. It could be a lovely hotel with some upgrades to decor. The pool was nice but needed a good clean. Breakfast was basic. The room was shabby but the air con worked well. There were lamps but no plugs and the lights worked intermittently. The water in the room was low pressure and sometimes the shower was cold. The bed was comfy though. The staff were not particularly friendly but a couple were nice especially the night reception gent. The location is fab though, right in the centre of the town so very easy access to the town. We had a car and there is no parking and needed to walk around 10 - 15 minutes per day back to hotel, which wasn't a major issue but would be more difficult with kids / mobility issues. It's a very good base for Lefkada and we spent most days travelling around the island which is one of the best places we have ever been. The island is truly stunning. We won't be back to the hotel unless the price was significantly cheaper.

Ionian Star is located in an incredible area, making it a great base for exploring the city. The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always willing to help, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the hotel itself did not meet our expectations for a 4-star property. The facilities are quite outdated and could benefit from significant renovations. Additionally, for two of the four days we stayed, there was a very unpleasant odor in the hotel room, although we were never able to determine where it was coming from. Soundproofing was also a major issue. We could clearly hear conversations from the room next to us and across the hall. There appears to be a window or vent in the bathroom that somehow connects to the neighboring room, allowing noise to travel easily. It made privacy and getting a good night’s sleep difficult. Overall, the location and wonderful staff were definite highlights, especially front desk and housekeeping! Super kind people!…. but the condition of the hotel and the lack of sound insulation made the stay disappointing for what is advertised as a 4-star hotel.

This hotel is located in a great area of old town. Right by the walking street, restaurants, rental store fronts. It was super convenient. The place was very clean and charming and the staff was super helpful too!
