Highfield House

Stayed for one night with my daughter before flying out of Dublin airport the next day. Wish we had stayed here i stead of our previous accomidations, Lyndon House. The reviews are correct there is no AC but that was no issue for us as the rooms are shaded and stayed pretty cool. There was a window that opens an inch or so. We jad a ground floor room. Laundry machines are inexpensive and easy to use. Although i had purchased my own, there was plenty to ise left by others. We purchased food in town and cooked in their shared kitchen area which had a microwave, oven, and a fully stocked kitchen. Also a large fridge. We even ate dinner in the common room and accessed out Netflix to watch a movie. It helped my daughter who was feeling home sick. The beds were extremely confortable and bathrooms were clean. I sid not accessnit, but the gym is very large and looked nice.

We loved the ease of check in, the location, the shared kitchen and the gym.

This is student accommodation normally and a “Hotel” summer months. Quiet, clean, good gym.

Great for a place to stay at night after a long day of sightseeing. The staff was great and always super helpful. Decent gym as well that allowed for keeping up with things while away from home. The only thing that was not fantastic was two of the corners in the showers had some darker growths in them. Wasn’t too bad otherwise.

If IKEA made a hotel, this would be it. The tiniest room I have ever stayed in. Small bes crowded up next to the window. It was so hot and there was no air circulation even the though the window was wide open. No privacy without closing the window because you couldn't pull the screen down because it was a hinged window, not a sliding one. No extra towels. Vending machines in lobby.

Great location, close to the tram. Loved having access to a gym and kitchen area. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Clean room, comfortable bed and 24hr staff for check in. Communal kitchen facility was helpful. Day time staff were wonderfully helpful and kind especially the young Irish gentleman, can't remember his name. He went above and beyond to help us find our way back to the airport. The place itself was a 20ish minute taxi ride from Dublin airport. It was more expensive than expected to reach as there was no shuttle bus as advertised on Expedia. Could have paid abit more and stayed closer to the airport by the time all was said and done. Also check out was at 11am not 10am as advertised by Expedia so that had us rushing unexpectedly in the morning. It would have been great to have had black out blinds instead of the ones we had which let in the lights from the opposite building into the small hours which made sleep less than optimal. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

The venue catered for what i needed and it has a great looking gym.

It was not clear to me when I booked my room at the Highfield House that it was essentially student lodging and i would not have made reservations there had I known. That said, for what it is, it is certainly adequate. The room and facilities (shared kitchen and lounge with television) were clean and well kept, the fitness center was well equipped and the hotel is about two minutes away from a tram that takes you to the city center. The price is also quite affordable. On the negative side, the bed is adequate for a single person or a skinny and very affectionate young couple, but for an over-fifty couple, it was quite uncomfortable. It is the size of one-and-a-half single beds and considerably smaller than a full bed. In addition, the sound of the aforementioned tram resonates throughout the housing complex well into the early morning hours and one is frequently disturbed by people making too much noise late into the night. Finally, the facility does not have central air conditioning and considering that we stayed there in the middle of the warm season, our room was generally too hot and humid for comfort. This forced us to keep our window open, which made the noise problem that much worse, The bottom line is that for young people travelling to Dublin on a limited budget, this is not a bad choice. However, folks who want or need a few more creature comforts would be well advised to look elsewhere.

Highfield House was great for us to still be in the city but away from the hustle and bustle. It was clean, and the staff was friendly during check in and check out. We found some great cafes and restaurants nearby. A few things to note: There is no AC so the room ran hot throughout the day with little air movement even with the window open. We had been told laundry would be available, however, one of the two payment options for laundry was out of service, and we could not receive texts to do the other method. We found this out after confirming laundry would be available and easy to use, so it did inconvenience us. And lastly, it is next to a tram track. The noise didn’t bother us, but if you are a light sleeper it may be something to consider.

We had a terrible experience at this property. The room was uncomfortable, the bedding was just a top sheet over a bare mattress, there were stains that looked like blood on the walls, the one window wouldn’t open, so it was extremely stuffy. No window or vent in the bathroom so that was also awful. The shared areas of the kitchen and lounge were absolutely disgusting - overflowing with trash, smelly, flies everywhere, etc. there is nothing local nearby other than the train, which would make noise everytime it passed by. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights and left after one because it was so bad.

Helpful staff, clean room.

Eloigné du centre ville, lit qui ne convenait pas pour 2 personnes. Salle de bain avec beaucoup de traces de moisissure. La cuisine commune était dans un état déplorable et le rooftop pas accessible car la porte était cassée. Bien que le prix soit raisonnable, la localisation associée à un inconfort et une propreté approximative sans parler du bruit (gens qui crient jusque tard, gare de bus juste en face) font que nous n'y retourneront pas

Everything was as expected. Very clean and felt like a very secure building. No complaints except uncomfortable bed

Bed was a bit uncomfortable, could feel the springs in the mattress. Overall the the space was good, great hanging and clothes storage space. Clean apart from the ‘splash back’ behind the desk needed a wipe and there was mold on the sealant in the shower. Great shower, lots of hot water. Well designed shower room, could have done with a small bath mat, we used a hand towel. Felt safe and secure. Kitchen facilities good. Great reception staff. Good value. Thanks

Thought the room lovely and Clean and tidy Bathroom

We had a room towards the tram and the bus service center. A lot of noise all night. We also had problems with the cleanliness in one of the rooms, in the shred kitchen and also found used condoms in the shared entertainment room. The rooms was modern and the staff nice and friendly. Too bad it wasn’t clean… On the positive note it was very easy to reach central Dublin, either by tram or by a 20 min walk.

I'm 6'3 and if I was any taller I wouldn't fit in the bed as it was situated between the end of the desk and a wall. Tall travellers beware. Our thermostat in the room was stuck at 27 Celsius so it made for warm nights. Also, the side of the building we were on was right above a bus maintenance yard and the train station. Our sleep wasn't very good. Otherwise the location, staff, building and service were excellent.

Pulizia purtroppo veramente scarsa,bagno sporco e lenzuola macchiate. D'altronde i ragazzi alla reception sono davvero gentili e la struttura è nuova e sicura.Stanza e bagno con dimensioni adeguate per essere in città.A due passi dalla fermata del tram Luas che in 10/15 minuti ti porta in centro.

Nous avons manqué d’eau chaude dès le deuxième matin et j’ai avisé un jeune homme à la réception … Rien n’a été fait. Sur 3 jours, nous avons eu de l’eau chaude seulement la première nuit. La chambre était plus propre que la cuisine … qui était sale à l’intérieur des appareils ménagers

The accommodations are basically a student dorm. You have a small private room and a nice common area you share with six other rooms. Worked well for us as the tram stop was right next door. If your window faces the tram stop it does get noisy.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable. No amenities, not enough toilet paper or towels provided. Very small space. Extremely hot and dry at night and window opens over bed so you hit in it when getting up if you want to open it for some air. Way too expensive.

The hotel is definitely a dorm. Expect your room to be a dorm room. There is no air conditioning. If you ask for a fan to use, depending who is at their counter. They will tell you that they got rid of them after COVID-19 and did not replace them. If you press harder and enough times, they will try to get one when it is turned in. There is a large bus garage right next door to the buildings so if you are on the outside on the right, your sleep will be disrupted and you are unable to leave the window open to cool things off because of the noise from the buses and the tram that passes on that side as well. The "common areas" during our stay in building K were never cleaned - there was leftover dishes, food, wine glasses, garbage all over the counters and in the sink. In two days, it was never cleaned. I would recommend you find another spot to stay. The trams running below the window stopped around midnight but started back up around five I think it was. It truly was terrible

The beds are too small.

Our room was directly above a train station and directly across an bus depot. Very loud environment. The room also didn’t have any airflow. The thermometer said it was 28 degrees and that made sleep almost unbearable. Great service in lobby though.

The gym was nice but… it was very uncomfortable, the train station is right next to the building and makes it very hard to sleep, the curtains weren’t thick enough… also it was impossible to change the rooms temperature, we then had to open the window, so we could hear the noise from the train, the mattress was very uncomfortable and the bed was small. There was a lot of dust next to the bed. The bathroom was ok.

This property was perfectly fine. It is a dorm that is rented out to tourists during the off months. The rooms are clean, and it’s a place to sleep. The staff is lovely and we had no issues getting into the area or our room. That being said- it’s a dorm. It’s hot. There is not AC. It’s loud. The soundproofing is not there, and since you pretty much have to keep the window open or it’s a furnace, you can hear literally everything outside- especially the train that runs til midnight. Overall, it was fine. It was clean. It was a place to sleep. Showers were clean. Bathroom was nice.

Really convenient for my concert and very clean room and accommodation. Staff were excellent and friendly.

One room was inhabitable. The temperature gauge was stuck at 28.5 Celsius. I complained 4 times and yet nothing was done to rectify. We ultimately had to share the other room and sleep on the floor. No apology was given, yet told it was a known problem. Terrible considering we had medication that needed to be kept at room temperature

Pleasant, convenient and well-maintained. Highfield is a little bit outside of center city but not so far out that it was inconvenient. Some days, I walked to and from the hotel. Some days I took the train. Regardless, I was happy I did.

It was fine for an overnight stay. Good links to trams to get into city centre. Staff were friendly.

Stayed for August Bank Holiday with my boyfriend & went to the Robbie Williams gig at Crooke Park. This place was really lovely, we didn’t know what to expect after the reviews. Room was nice and clean , it is next to the tram so do keep this in mind if you struggle to sleep however didn’t bother us we hate sleeping when it is silent😂overall about a 30min walk into the city not to bad especially for the price difference from places in the city. Recommend if you want somewhere cheaper to stay

Highfield House is in a great location right next door to a tram stop for easy access to the city. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable facilities, and ideal for what I wanted. I would not hesitate to return next time I am in Dublin

cheap, cheerful, does what it says on the tin! Student type accommodation with shared lounge/kitchen facilities.. approx 1m walk to city, 2m walk to train which was handy, overall ideal for a cheap stay.
