Nicely maintained and managed property updated property. Within blocks of shopping and Root River bicycle path. Owner recently added a bike barn with bicycle stands, work bench and plenty of outlets for e-bikes. Very helpful and congenial host.

Its a lovely location with very comfortable and clean,super clean! rooms. Parking was difficult as I came back late and as the spaces aren't marked people parked poorly taking up multiple spaces. I spoke with the owner in the morning and he was very nice. Told him the people in the room next to me were very loud until after 1 in the morning and he recognized the problem immediately. It's not so much the hotels' fault as rude guests but he apologized many times and proposed a solution that he could make which was a very positive outcome. I am not a fan of contactless check in as a woman traveling alone I like to know someone knows who I am. Would like the option to check in in person (if that exists it wasn't made clear to me). Overall, yes I would absolutely stay here again. Nice owner, lovely setting, very comfortable and clean room.

The location is peacefully located at the edge of the town and was an easy 1/2 mile walk for us to explore. Some rooms are accessible, ours required stairs. Rooms, Ice, amenities, and morning coffee are are accessible via a convenient 4 digit code texted to you morning of check-in. Peaceful by river, nice patio and gracious yard. Beds comfortable.

Enjoyed our stay. The owner was very hospitable. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The entire inn appeared well maintained. Will recommend the inn to our friends. The secure bike storage is a nice amenity.

We loved the beautiful setting on the river and our room had a perfect view. The grounds & gazebo were lovely. The courtyard was cozy and an additional space to gather/relax. We appreciated that the size of the complex being small with just 15 units. We were on the lower, "B", level and unfortunately the ceiling creaked when the residents walked on the floor above us. The walls and ceiling seemed thin. The air conditioner was noisy as well but gave us white noise and didn't interfere with our sleep. We would stay here again.

Green Gables was very nice and perfect for our needs. It’s close to the Root River bike trail and has protected bike storage which was important since there was a big storm that went through the night we were there. Breakfast of coffee and muffins was really all we needed. Gardens we’re well kept and gazebo is a great place to sit and read.

Our room was directly beneath the lobby, so we would ask for a different room, as it was quite noisy when people were walking across. The owners were amazing - friendly and very helpful. The site was lovely with plenty of places to sit outside. We loved it.

Our room was awesome. We had the luxury suite. The couch recliner seemed new and of good quality. The bed was good but the sheets were getting thin. Housekeeping over looked emptying the coffee maker, so it was starting to grow. Sometimes things get overloaded. This was my first time staying at a place that didn't man the "front desk" You were emailed the door code and checked yourself in. It was kind of strange but it worked. All 'n all, it was a good experience.

Before check-in, we appreciated being able to access restrooms and filtered water since we biked the Root River Trail earlier in the day. The locked bike storage was a huge plus, providing peace of mind with secure, temperature-controlled space and plenty of outlets for charging e-bikes. Overall, it was a comfortable and thoughtfully designed place to stay, and we would definitely return. A couple of small recommendations that would make the experience even better: Adding a top sheet over the bed blanket for sanitary reasons Switching from individual packets of soap, shampoo, and conditioner to refillable bottles for convenience and sustainability Highly recommend Green Gables Inn for anyone visiting Lanesboro!

Gorgeous grounds in a very convenient location. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and our room A8 was absolutely spotless. Loved the plush towels and cozy linens. There was even a bike shed where we could store our bikes overnight as we forgot to bring locks.

Overall, yes I would absolutely stay here again. Nice owner, lovely setting, very comfortable and clean room.

Its a lovely location with very comfortable and clean,super clean! rooms. Parking was difficult as I came back late and as the spaces aren't marked people parked poorly taking up multiple spaces. I spoke with the owner in the morning and he was very nice. Told him the people in the room next to me were very loud until after 1 in the morning and he recognized the problem immediately. It's not so much the hotels' fault as rude guests but he apologized many times and proposed a solution that he could make which was a very positive outcome. I am not a fan of contactless check in as a woman traveling alone I like to know someone knows who I am. Would like the option to check in in person (if that exists it wasn't made clear to me). Overall, yes I would absolutely stay here again. Nice owner, lovely setting, very comfortable and clean room.

We enjoyed everything. Gentleman met us before we even got out of our SUV. INFORMED US WHERE EVERYTHING WAS. ROOM VERY NICE AND CLEAN. OTHER GUEST QUITE PLEASANT TO VISIT WITH.THE ONLY THING I wiuld say is the mosquitoes were awfull and I am terribly allergic to them. BUT tgey cant do anything about that they are right on the water. Grounds aee beautiful. Will book again

Enjoyed our stay. The owner was very hospitable. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The entire inn appeared well maintained. Will recommend the inn to our friends. The secure bike storage is a nice amenity.

Our room was directly beneath the lobby, so we would ask for a different room, as it was quite noisy when people were walking across. The owners were amazing - friendly and very helpful. The site was lovely with plenty of places to sit outside. We loved it.

The grounds were beautiful with the river behind it, nice large maple trees and perennials that were still flowering even this late in the season. The manager was very helpful in giving us ideas on things to see while we were in the area. Lounge and muffins/coffee were a nice perk.

Nicely maintained and managed property updated property. Within blocks of shopping and Root River bicycle path. Owner recently added a bike barn with bicycle stands, work bench and plenty of outlets for e-bikes. Very helpful and congenial host.

Green Gables was very nice and perfect for our needs. It’s close to the Root River bike trail and has protected bike storage which was important since there was a big storm that went through the night we were there. Breakfast of coffee and muffins was really all we needed. Gardens we’re well kept and gazebo is a great place to sit and read.

Brochure said kitchen, fireplace and or whirlpool. None of these in the room. Continental breakfast? Only consisted of a muffin and coffee. Some of us don't drink or like coffee. I have stage 4 lung cancer, sugary items are not good for cancer patients. Room did not have any black out curtains, hard to sleep when daylight hits. Air conditioner buttons were broken, was stuck on 70 degrees. Property was nice looking, but not much to enjoy. Way overpriced for lack of amenities.

The breakfast was only ONE muffin. No other places to get food in the area. We were going to be biking all morning. It wasn’t enough for us. It was advised as “breakfast included” so I didn’t bring lots of extra food. Very disappointing.

We will definitely stay at the Green Gables again. The facility is layed out conveniently nice and location is perfect for accessibility to bike trail and main street, yet peaceful. We were greeted by the host who took time to visit with us and made us feel very appreciated as well as comfortable. The rooms very clean, neat and comfortable. Landscape and gardens were nicely arranged and manicured. The staff was very pleasant and met all of our needs. There were also many amenities included but not mentioned.

Totally charming in a beautiful setting on the Root River. The gardens were gorgeous and the host Brian was friendly and welcoming. We had a comfortable room with 2 queens a fridge and freezer and very spacious overlooking the River. Easy to get around Lanesboro one of our favourite away travel spots. Highly recommend this property

Being on the lower level, the floor boards above were loud when guests were walking around. It was nice having a balcony but a little awkward sharing it with the next room. Breakfast starts at 7:30 am which is a little late for early risers since there are no coffee makers in the rooms. Besides that, the place is beautiful and I would not stay anywhere else. Next time I will request a regular queen room on the 2nd floor and stock up with coffee the night before. See you again next year!
