House is cute with everything you need for your stay. Check in and check out was an easy process. They had a variety of games and toys for children and adults to play. Me and my friend only stayed one night for a concert, but would recommend this house for anyone staying in Birmingham!!

This place was amazing for our family! Had everything we needed and more for our one year old. Toys, pack n play, car seat, safety plugs in the walls and more. Kitchen was well stocked with cast-iron skillet and cooking utensils. The neighborhood was really nice to walk through in the evening. We highly recommend this location if looking for a cozy home in Birmingham.

The location is great. Friendly neighbors everyone would wave or say hi. We stayed with our 2.5year old and they had a basket full of toys and TV with accounts set up for kids. My family enjoyed the house and the fact that it's close to a park and the city made it convenient. I stayed here because I needed to be near USB hospital and it was a 8-10 minute drive.

Just as described this was a charming bungalow home in a nice Avondale neighborhood. We were in town for a quick night stay to catch a show at the Avondale Brewery and it was an easy 14 minute walk to get there. The amenities were fine, water was hot, owners provided free streaming services on the tv and the bed was comfortable. We would def rent again when we come back to BHam!!

The host was very welcoming and the home had everything we needed and more. We loved the location, the outdoor space and the neighborhood. Books, games, front porch swing, back yard fire pit, comfortable beds and free parking- all much appreciated! Thank you, Brittany!

Visiting family in the area so location was great. House is cozy and has a nice main bedroom and comfy couch in LR. Toys for the kids. Porch swing and back porch. Safe neighborhood. Everything see needed.

Well appointed cottage a couple of blocks off a busy street with easy access to the hospitals, downtown & clubs. Home is nicely decorated with a welcoming swing on the front porch. The neighborhood is peaceful and safe & fantastic for walking with a park 2 blocks away. Options for breakfast, lunch and dinner are also close by. The General is a quaint coffee shop with good breakfasts and a lovely gift shop. Communication with the owner was easy and swift. Washcloths and bath/shower soap were in short supply but the onsite washer & dryer accommodated that. We’ll be back!

The trip itself was great but we had a few hiccups. Let me start by saying I contacted Britt before booking and asked if we could bring our large dog with us (he is over the 50 lb weight limit). She immediately responded yes, which was a big weight off my shoulders. So a great start. I then sent 3 more questions to ask if they had a Pack n Play and never heard back. We also never got check-in instructions. I messaged and called about that too, but did not hear back. My husband was able to locate her husband’s phone number and called him. He apologized and told us that the VRBO app had been having issues so that’s why we hadn’t gotten the instructions, then texted them. He also said he wasn’t sure on the Pack N Play but that he would get back to us—though we should go ahead and plan to bring one. We did—because we never heard back from him. (Of course we found one in the closet once we were there). I would have brushed all that aside as no big deal. People are busy and apps mess up. But when we got to the house, it was VERY unclean and clearly not kept up well. The dishes had not been cleared out of the dishwasher. There were old sheets in the dryer that hadn’t been dried enough so we’re starting to stink. The backyard was totally overgrown. The bed frame of one bed was zip tied together. The bathroom shower liner was orange and the rod rusted. I did not feel comfortable letting my kids bathe there. And there were open containers of products left behind from others all over.

The house is very nice. The neighborhood is great. The location is spectacular, you can walk to restaurants, breweries, music. It is a short drive to Barber Motorsports Park, we went there for motorcycle races. Downtown isn't far. The house itself is very nice, everything was clean, it has TV (Apple Tv). Overall great place.

House was very unclean: furniture (couch, all chairs, rugs) were all soiled and in poor quality - falling apart etc. House smelled unclean. Kitchen was not well stocked to make meals; fridge was dirty. Outdoor area was very overgrown and not safe for children to play in, due to nails sticking out of ground in areas. The back patio furniture and rugs were soiled and all was overall not kept up. When I stay away from home and pay for cleaning services, fees, rent, etc. I expect for at minimum, cleanliness. This house did not offer that. I would not recommend anyone stay here. I did reach out to the owners as soon as we arrived about the unclean furniture and did not hear back from anyone.

My husband and I spent 36 hours in Birmingham on our way home to Virginia from Louisiana. The bungalow was immaculate, cozy, and welcoming, with a delightful living room and super comfy bedroom.The house was near to the sights we wanted to see as well as some great restaurants, and the neighborhood was really nice.All in all, we had a great stay in Avondale!

The house, in general, seemed to need a deep cleaning (vents, bathroom tub drain, fridge vent, etc). This may have caused the A/C to not work very efficiently. After attempting to cool it down, we removed the air filter (owner's advice), and it did start to cool down a bit. It took a few hours after removing the filter for it to cool enough to be comfortable in the master (warmest room). I understand it is hot outside, but I would assume it usually works faster and may need servicing, as it began heating up quickly the second I turned it back to original settings in the morning. Overall, with all of the specific check-out directions and issues, we feel the house is not worth the price we paid and will stay elsewhere next time.

Had to be in town for a few days for work with the family. We enjoyed our stay and the location was great. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the house was not as clean as we are accustomed to with VRBO, a lot of dirt and dust on the floors and some surfaces. Other than that, great stay!

The house is very nice. The neighborhood is great. The location is spectacular, you can walk to restaurants, breweries, music. Was a pleasant spot, old house but had the new amenities which was a nice change, if the twin beds in the room were at least full beds it would have been perfect stay, would stay again.

Quiet neighborhood...a little apprehensive at first. But quiet neighborhood other than occasional sirens and trains, but no problem...its a big city. We would stay again. Bring your own grill if you want that. Couldnt get TV to work.

Great property. Old house with charm. Slept well. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful homes everywhere. Great access to Avondale restaurants. Enjoyed the porch swing in the front and the privacy of the backyard. Had trouble with the appletv but enjoyed reading instead. Bathroom could use a vent fan, but an all around solid house. Would stay again.

We loved this place. There was some hiccups with communication at first but that was quickly resolved. The home was just as advertised. Spacious and fit our need perfectly. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint. Most important it was very close to UAB where i was having heart surgery. I needed to add a day onto the stay for my husband and kids to recoup from thr stress and my surgery before driving several hours home. This request was accommodated wuickly and with no issues. Top notch property.100 percent would recommend this place.to anyone staying in the Birmingham area

We also never got check-in instructions. I messaged and called about that too, but did not hear back. My husband was able to locate her husband’s phone number and called him. He apologized and told us that the VRBO app had been having issues so that’s why we hadn’t gotten the instructions, then texted them. He also said he wasn’t sure on the Pack N Play but that he would get back to us—though we should go ahead and plan to bring one. We did—because we never heard back from him. (Of course we found one in the closet once we were there). I would have brushed all that aside as no big deal. People are busy and apps mess up. But when we got to the house, it was VERY unclean and clearly not kept up well. The dishes had not been cleared out of the dishwasher. There were old sheets in the dryer that hadn’t been dried enough so we’re starting to stink. The backyard was totally overgrown. The bed frame of one bed was zip tied together. The bathroom shower liner was orange and the rod rusted. I did not feel comfortable letting my kids bathe there. And there were open containers of products left behind from others all over.

We needed a quiet, comfortable house while our son recovered from knee surgery in Birmingham.The house was perfect. In a very nice, safe neighborhood. Due to weather, we needed to extend our stay. The owners were so easy to work and communicate with to make this happen. If you looking for a “home” for a short stay or even an extended stay I would highly recommend it!!

Well appointed cottage a couple of blocks off a busy street with easy access to the hospitals, downtown & clubs. Home is nicely decorated with a welcoming swing on the front porch. The neighborhood is peaceful and safe & fantastic for walking with a park 2 blocks away. Options for breakfast, lunch and dinner are also close by. The General is a quaint coffee shop with good breakfasts and a lovely gift shop. Communication with the owner was easy and swift. Washcloths and bath/shower soap were in short supply but the onsite washer & dryer accommodated that. We’ll be back!

We loved this place. There was some hiccups with communication at first but that was quickly resolved. The home was just as advertised. Spacious and fit our need perfectly. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint. Most important it was very close to UAB where i was having heart surgery. I needed to add a day onto the stay for my husband and kids to recoup from thr stress and my surgery before driving several hours home. This request was accommodated wuickly and with no issues. Top notch property.100 percent would recommend this place.to anyone staying in the Birmingham area

The house is very nice. The neighborhood is great. The location is spectacular, you can walk to restaurants, breweries, music. It is a short drive to Barber Motorsports Park, we went there for motorcycle races. Downtown isn't far. The house itself is very nice, everything was clean, it has TV (Apple Tv). Overall great place.

Just as described this was a charming bungalow home in a nice Avondale neighborhood. We were in town for a quick night stay to catch a show at the Avondale Brewery and it was an easy 14 minute walk to get there. The amenities were fine, water was hot, owners provided free streaming services on the tv and the bed was comfortable. We would def rent again when we come back to BHam!!

This is a really beautiful cottage in a super-charming and quiet neighborhood that's great for walking - especially with so many spring blooms! The house is well-equipped and feels comfortable. The living spaces and master BR are very spacious while the twin room feels a bit small. The furniture is feeling a bit worn and the twin beds were a bit squeaky and soft for our teenage boys. The outdoor areas need a good cleaning - I know it's pollen season, but there was a year or more worth of grime built up on the back porch. We had to wipe the porch swing off just to sit and didn't even bother with the back porch. The back yard in general needs some tending. We didn't get check-in instructions until just a couple of hours before check-in, and only after I sent a couple of messages to inquire. I'm accustomed to getting those instructions proactively from property managers 24 hours or more before check-in. We were allowed to check in a little early which was appreciated, but when we arrived we heard crazy noises under the floor. We poked around and found that a repair person was under the house working on the AC which was apparently not working. A heads up about this would've been appreciated.Despite the hiccups, we really loved our couple of nights here and would absolutely stay again.

We had a great stay at the Avondale Bungalow! We stay with our 3 kids for a quick overnight and it worked perfectly. Lots of games, and comfortable surroundings. Location was central to lots of restaurants and very quaint neighborhood. We would definitely stay again!
