By far the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed. We love remote, connect with nature, peaceful locations and have stayed at many. Most you are fighting cobwebs on the porch, limited kitchen amenities, etc. Walking into Stoney Porch was like walking into a model home in a new neighborhood. Everything was immaculate, including the porches and the grill. The view across the creek, feeding of deer were all things we loved. While there is noise from the road when on the porch, in the cabin you are a million miles away. Normally we use a cabin as a center point and venture out to explore, but not the case this time. One trip to the Alamo and then soaked up the atmosphere the rest of our trip. I will be looking at another stay sooner than later. Highly recommend!!!

This place was so amazing. Your in the trees the deer come up to eat very quite the cabin was great size and fixed up so cute. The lookout point is so pretty all the little set ups for enjoying being outside. Will stay again!

With The Stoney Porch, Kathi & Dan have created an oasis in The Hill Country. We’ve loved this part of our great state our entire lives. The HC is full of rolling hills, clear streams, rich history, & unique flora and fauna. However, it has also seen tremendous & often unwelcomed growth that does not honor the land. On their property, Kathi and Dan have lovingly preserved the very best of this unique part of the world. The cabin is a sanctuary of privacy and comfort yet a short drive to many unique and special HC sites. Skillfully built with a beautiful eye for detail, it is immaculately clean and holds all the comforts of home. The back porch is a work of art, the views full of deer & a rich variety of birds. We travel with an appreciation and mind for Willie’s philosophy of “Seein’ things I may never see again” because in life, there is only so much time & money and SO many things to see. However, we are eagerly hoping to return to Kathi and Dan’s place. They are not only wonderful hosts, but stewards of this land we love so very much. You will absolutely be blessed by their kindness in sharing their lovely slice of the Texas Hill Country.

The cabin is lovely, clean, and well organized. Not a huge space, but used well, with a well-stocked kitchen and tastefully appointed bathroom and bedroom. The owners are courteous and easy to get ahold of when needed, but respect your privacy. A perfect romantic retreat, with a lovely outdoor balcony area complete with grill. My wife and I went here for the first part of our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The owners are courteous and easy to get ahold of when needed, but respect your privacy. A perfect romantic retreat, with a lovely outdoor balcony area complete with grill. The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. It was well stocked for cooking. We both slept great. There is a herd (4 or 5) deer who are frequent visitors to the area just beliw the deck that are beautiful to watch. It was a peaceful & relaxing stay!

Dan and Kathy were excellent hosts and definitely went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The cabin was clean, had all the comforts of home, including a full size kitchen and was beautifully appointed. The location was in the beautiful hill country of Texas and was located close to many activities for all age groups. It was a perfect get away for two to enjoy the quiet country setting, but close enough to travel to other hill country towns or to San Antonio. We look forward to returning one day.

Super cute cabin! Really enjoyed the secludedness of it, and spent most of our time sitting on the back porch listening to birds and watching the deer come up to eat corn. Made some steaks for dinner and realized i had forgotten my seasonings, but there were several options to choose from in the cabinets so the crisis was averted! Lovely property owners that gave all the information needed for our stay. Will definitely be staying here again when we are back in the area

Our stay was amazing. The cabin is so unbelievably you really don’t want to leave. Kathi and Dan set you up with everything you need. I love the private parking for my new truck, 2 tv’s and an awesome back deck. This was our second trip and our favorite, we will be back.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Stony Porch. Dan & Kathi have created a fantastic cabin in a lovely setting. We loved the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pasture below (especially with the fun surprise of a lot up tree!), bundled up and enjoyed a glass of wine from the “lookout,” and cooked ourselves a gourmet steak dinner in the well appointed kitchen. We loved being close to both San Antonio and Guadalupe River State Park. Dan & Kathi were communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at this sweet little cabin! It was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. We were only there for a short respite to get some things done away from home, but we wished we could have stayed longer. There are plenty of modern options out there, but I was craving that true cabin feel—and this one delivered perfectly. It’s comfortable, peaceful, and just what we needed. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a cozy getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The place was immaculately clean and we found it to be super cute and cozy. It is so peaceful sitting outside, watching the wild animals and listening to the sound of the breeze blowing through the trees. We really enjoyed the convenience of having a bbq pit and stocked kitchen. Hosts were responsive when I had questions. We will definitely return!

We stayed here for 3 nights and didn\'t want to leave! The pictures don\'t do it justice. The peace and tranquility every morning having coffee on the porch and in the "lookout" is unbeatable. Beautifully maintained property and extremely clean. Thank you so much Kathi and Dan for making a fun trip for my cousins wedding even better,!

We enjoyed the lovely Stoney Porch Cabin in the Texas hill country. The cabin was very clean and had every thing that we needed for our home base as we explored the hill country. It was fun to come back to our cabin after a days outing. Dan and Kathi have an adorable, well appointed cabin.

Was very cute, parts were clean and others were dusty and large cob webs. Everything that needed to be clean, was clean. We had to leave early because of two reasons. 1. Ours eyes were burning and our throats were irritated, still a couple of days later. We likened it to when you go into a new box store or a huge flooring store, like when product is off gasing? So maybe they had new floors or had recently sprayed? We could not stay. I’m suffering from mold toxicity and my husband’s throat was partially closed. 2. We could not get comfortable. The couch was small and its back made it so all you could do was sit upright. Other seating was not good. Some ottomans would have helped greatly. The bed was comfortable but too small. I’m 5’2, husband 6’5 and we were crammed together. It truly had everything you could need or want and could tell a lot of love was in it. Truly, a different couch, maybe a love seat recliner or ottomans, and not sure what caused our eyes and throat issues. Could have lived with the bed. The gentleman was so nice. Never got to meet either of them though. Wish we could have finished our stay or been offered a refund for one night that we couldn’t be there. Really wish we could have finished our stay. My only suggestion is bring some comfortable lawn chairs and enjoy the place! Maybe our systems are just too toxic at the moment we are sensitive to something that most no one else is. This place is a gem in all honesty. If you want peace, this is the place.

The cabin is very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The owners take great care in ensuring you will have a nice stay and are very attentive and respond quickly to you. We will be back again for a little time away from reality.

My husband and I had a wonderful time during a recent trip to the Texas hill country (and during an arctic blast!) Stoney Porch was a lovely, secluded cabin with excellent views and all the amenities you need! The owners are great communicators and will make you feel welcomed. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful cabin close to Bulverde and New Braunfels but secluded from the world. large back porch overlooking a small medow where deer come and squirrels run about. the cabin itself is very cozy and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

Hands down my favorite getaway! Charming, romantic, quiet, secluded, extremely clean with a treehouse feel! We love the hill country and this beautiful cabin is exactly what I was looking for! We will definitely plan to come back! We didn't want to leave!!! The hosts were amazingly helpful and communicative! Thank you Kathi and Dan!

Ron and I felt right at home when we arrived. Everything was quaint and relaxing = especially the little deck off the house. We would go out at the end of the day and relax and reflect. It was very private and tuck away just enough to give the feel of being out in wilderness; and once in a while we got to enjoy a deer and sound of coyotes in the distance.
Ron and I felt right at home when we arrived. Everything was quaint and relaxing = especially the little deck off the house. We would go out at the end of the day and relax and reflect. Was very cute, parts were clean and others were dusty and large cob webs. Everything that needed to be clean, was clean. We had to leave early because of two reasons. 1. Ours eyes were burning and our throats were irritated, still a couple of days later. We likened it to when you go into a new box store or a huge flooring store, like when product is off gasing? So maybe they had new floors or had recently sprayed? We could not stay. I’m suffering from mold toxicity and my husband’s throat was partially closed. 2. We could not get comfortable. The couch was small and its back made it so all you could do was sit upright. Other seating was not good. Some ottomans would have helped greatly. The bed was comfortable but too small. I’m 5’2, husband 6’5 and we were crammed together. It truly had everything you could need or want and could tell a lot of love was in it. Truly, a different couch, maybe a love seat recliner or ottomans, and not sure what caused our eyes and throat issues. Could have lived with the bed. The gentleman was so nice. Never got to meet either of them though. Wish we could have finished our stay or been offered a refund for one night that we couldn’t be there. Really wish we could have finished our stay. My only suggestion is bring some comfortable lawn chairs and enjoy the place! Maybe our systems are just too toxic at the moment we are sensitive to something that most no one else is. This place is a gem in all honesty. If you want peace, this is the place.

Dan and Kathy were excellent hosts and definitely went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The cabin was clean, had all the comforts of home, including a full size kitchen and was beautifully appointed. The location was in the beautiful hill country of Texas and was located close to many activities for all age groups. It was a perfect get away for two to enjoy the quiet country setting, but close enough to travel to other hill country towns or to San Antonio. We look forward to returning one day.

Brilliant cabin. Fantastic location. If you’re outdoorsy at all, this is the prime location for San Antonio related trips. Close enough that the river walk and events “in town” are fun evening trips, but the proximity to a myriad of nature attractions is the real seller.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Stony Porch. Dan & Kathi have created a fantastic cabin in a lovely setting. We loved the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pasture below (especially with the fun surprise of a lot up tree!), bundled up and enjoyed a glass of wine from the “lookout,” and cooked ourselves a gourmet steak dinner in the well appointed kitchen. We loved being close to both San Antonio and Guadalupe River State Park. Dan & Kathi were communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

Lovely stay—- great location and beautiful deck and lookout spots. We loved watching the deer and exploring nearby areas! It was very easy to find!! We will be back! Lots of nice personal touches throughout the cabin and in the yard.

Stony Porch was clean,well appointed and a most lovely place for a cozy intimate getaway. We enjoyed the restaurant recommendations and ate at The Branch and Screaming Goat Yard & Tap. Both were very good. The bottle of wine for our anniversary vacation was a nice touch (thank you Dan & Kathi).

By far the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed. We love remote, connect with nature, peaceful locations and have stayed at many. Most you are fighting cobwebs on the porch, limited kitchen amenities, etc. Walking into Stoney Porch was like walking into a model home in a new neighborhood. Everything was immaculate, including the porches and the grill. The view across the creek, feeding of deer were all things we loved. While there is noise from the road when on the porch, in the cabin you are a million miles away. Normally we use a cabin as a center point and venture out to explore, but not the case this time. One trip to the Alamo and then soaked up the atmosphere the rest of our trip. I will be looking at another stay sooner than later. Highly recommend!!!

The cabin is lovely, clean, and well organized. Not a huge space, but used well, with a well-stocked kitchen and tastefully appointed bathroom and bedroom. The owners are courteous and easy to get ahold of when needed, but respect your privacy. A perfect romantic retreat, with a lovely outdoor balcony area complete with grill. My wife and I went here for the first part of our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Super cute cabin! Really enjoyed the secludedness of it, and spent most of our time sitting on the back porch listening to birds and watching the deer come up to eat corn. Made some steaks for dinner and realized i had forgotten my seasonings, but there were several options to choose from in the cabinets so the crisis was averted! Lovely property owners that gave all the information needed for our stay. Will definitely be staying here again when we are back in the area

We absolutely loved our stay here. The place was immaculately clean and we found it to be super cute and cozy. It is so peaceful sitting outside, watching the wild animals and listening to the sound of the breeze blowing through the trees. We really enjoyed the convenience of having a bbq pit and stocked kitchen. Hosts were responsive when I had questions. We will definitely return!

It was an amazing little cabin, the cabin was clean, with all the amenities. We couldn’t use the fire pit, because of county burn ban. We had an amazing time shopping in the small neighboring towns. Saw some awesome Christmas lights

Beautiful place ::: pictures you see online don't do it justice.. my wife and I spent are anniversary there and had a real nice time.. if you like outdoors and porch time with a book and see red birds blue birds green little lizards crawling up the trees and so many deer.. (does/bucks).. outside gas grill was a hit for steaks and shrimp.. lights in the cabin dim low .. all the info you need as in where is all the attractions the will leave on the table for you.. just an all out great place to relax and enjoy life and your true other half... Trust me it's well worth it.. we will be back & my wife is telling everyone how lovely it is there.. The owners of the property and cabin are so nice, and they will go way over and beyond for you .. find out and reserve your stay, you will be glad you did..

My Sister-friend and I loved every little cozy warm and inviting aspect of this cabin hideaway. It was exactly what we needed after a 6 hour day of hard core hiking. Shampoo, condition and basic supplies are all furnished and for that, we were greatful. We were also thankful for hot coffee in the morning and that too was provided by the host. It's the little things that matter most. A nice relaxing wine greeted us in the clean fridge and we loved the idea of a progressive guest book and took the opportunity to read comments from days gone and track travelers from all over the US. The bed was super comfy and waking up to a view of misting rain through the tree scape with birds courting us with chirpy song is all it took for us to know . . . We shall return.

The cabin was beautiful! It had everything we needed, and the hosts were really wonderful. It’s a great place to book when you want to get to several hill country destinations while still feeling like you’re away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I would definitely book this place again!
