It looks nice, the building looks great from the outside, and the grounds are gorgeous. But no coffee maker, no fridge, no microwave, and the smallest tv that looked like a computer monitor hooked up to a cable box is all the room has to offer. Not to mention the parking lot is about a 5 minute hike uphill to the lobby. If they are hosting an event, good luck finding a spot. With the cost of staying here, we felt a bit bamboozled

The only downfall to this hotel is the walking distance you have to do from where you park then the walk uphill to the hotel. I have breathing issues,. Thank goodness they have a sitting area once you get in to rest.before going onto your room. A suggestion maybe have a valet.

We were there two nights. Primary purpose was to have a private family meeting. Doug Stone recommended Cafe 56. We conducted our meeting there at 3 pm after it closed. It was the perfect setting - comfortable, lots of light and private. We enjoyed our stay there and will recommend to others. Only negative was parking was limited and a bit inconvenient. Staff was friendly, grounds were beautiful. It seems like the transition from conference center to hotel is still taking place. We saw new signage going up. Elevators need upgrading. There are very few and existing ones are very slow. Looking forward to seeing more upgrades.

The property was clean & well groomed with lovely grounds. Staff was very accommodating and helpful at checkin. Was surprised that there was no mini fridge in the room. Did not realize there would not be one at booking. Parking was quite far from hotel and it was an uphill walk back. Also did not notice any handicapped parking closer by.

This property is very unique and beautiful and it has so much potential to be an incredible property. Be prepared for the bar only having a very limited menu and that is the only dining option on site after breakfast. Breakfast is offered in the main lobby area and there is also a cute coffee shop on the property. Also, there aren’t ice machines, glasses, etc so bring your own water. Rooms are clean with great storage and views, particularly during foliage season. There are huge game rooms available with pool tables, table tennis, foozeball, etc. tons of space to play and socialize. There are gorgeous propane fires outdoors and outdoor tables and benches. The property is right by the parkway so it is very convenient. We will definitely be back!

This is the former GE executive training center, now having a soft launch into a real hotel. They have been open 3 months and still working out kinks. Minimal food and drinks on site for regular traveler. Easy to get good food from nearby towns. Likely better if with a group for wedding or conference. Outdated but barely used furnishings and decorating make it a fun blast from the past. HUGE fitness center. Perfect brick walkways all over and 1.7 mile walking/ running path. Nice nooks and crannies everywhere to sit, snack and visit with people. Lovely fire pit area, and pooltables, foosball, and table tennis.

Pros: -The grounds are beautiful and well kept -Rooms and common areas were clean/spacious -Quiet location, but still close to attractions Cons: -Staff is uninformed and ill prepared to deal with issues that arise -It's a conference and event space (weddings, bachelor parties, birthdays) The event areas are surrounded by the guest rooms. The music was extremely loud in the common areas and the guests of the event were disruptive when leaving late at night. -The hosting of events there leaves little to no parking close to the hotel for any individual guests. Had to park a quarter of a mile away and walk in the dark. There's no available parking near the doors closet to your room because there's no key card access at any door. You can only use the front entrance. -Limited food options as the cafe, dining room and bar on site are only open on certain days for a few hours. -Employees, specifically reception, don't know a lot of information or chose to share it.

We stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday. We never ate anything but took advantage of the “Grab and Go” coffee station. Also, we used the INCREDIBLE, EPIC gym!!

Winrose on Hudson - beautiful property. I was excited stay in the same town my son moved to however, your site states that this property has bike rental & trails, billiards/pool tables, foosball, table tennis, karaoke, restaurant, bars, coffee shop, fire pit. None of that was available when I stayed from Friday to Sunday. I was told for the biking that certain groups can use that but not me. They were short staffed. I hope they get staffed to offer these amenities soon. This property truly has much to offer if fully equipped. The elevator stopped working several times so I took the odd stairs for fear of getting stuck, the air conditioning did not work Friday night and all day Saturday and then it went off sometime between Saturday and Sunday. The coffee shop was open for four hours from 6 AM to 10 AM in the morning but no food. I was told that a restaurant was open. I didn't stick around. The place is very quiet, but there’s no walkability to anything off property. I hoped this could be the place my husband and I could stay when we visit our son but it won’t work for us. I don’t think the room rates were reasonable given the above. I heard a lot of I’m sorry we don’t offer that. I’m sorry you can’t do that. I walked all over the beautiful place frustrated that I couldn’t use any of it. It’s just a room with hands off everything else.

No water pressure. It literally took fifteen or twenty minutes to get the shampoo out of our hair and the rooms were extremely outdated.The grounds are beautiful and the lobby is nice but if you notice, their advertisements don't include very many pictures of the rooms and for good reason.

The main areas of the hotel were updated and very nice. The bar area and outdoor fire pits were also very nice. The check-in staff were nice, but not overly welcoming or personable. The hotel rooms were very dated. My room appeared clean but we found 8-10 strands of someone else hair that was dried on the shower walls. Regarding the shower, the water was nice and hot, but the water pressure wasn't very strong. Also the body wash and conditioner dispensers in the shower were empty. The bar area is very nice, well maintained and nice staff. They serve some appetizers. The last and weirdest thing was at 8am the cleaning lady walked down our hallway, knocking on every person‘s door asking if we wanted our room to be serviced. she literally woke us up. What’s even weirder is that we were checking out that day.

Amenities were very lacking; there's no fridge or microwave in the rooms, and the floor we were on didn't even have a kitchenette (no card access to the ones on other floors) so there wasn't anywhere we could access these. Even cheap chain hotels have a fridge and microwave in every room, so this place is falling behind the modern standard. Water pressure in our shower was basically zero, felt like a gentle trickle. Definitely not want we wanted when trying to clean up after a long day of walking outdoors. Two of the towels in the bathrooms had large stains on them as well. Definitely feels like this place is an event center first, with very little focus on the actual hotel accommodations.

Place was great. Rooms dont have king beds which is weird. Next time I’ll get two queens instead of one. Location is good. In middle of no where but I liked that. Grounds beautiful.

The facility outside is beautiful. The Village area has much more updated and aesthetically pleasing accommodations complete with pretty string lighting outside, fire pits, and a small game room. We were in Crofton Hall though. The room numbers are odd - walking through B rooms to get to A on the same floor and having to take specific elevators even though there’s so many. The beds were horrible. It was like sleeping on cardboard and I had to constantly switch positions so my sciatica wouldn’t flare up. The room was clean except there was water damage on a ceiling tile right where you walk in and you could see black mold forming. The cold faucet leaked when the hot faucet was turned on. Overall it was fine for what we needed but expensive to sleep in such a mediocre bed.

Stay at a holiday inn express - or a motel - basically the same or better than what you get here. Room has no refrigerator, Microwave, or coffee. Needs more outlets / usb ports. TV is tiny and bed is super hard. Very noisy with slamming doors. Expect the restaurant, fire pits etc you are there for to be closed for private events. TV is tiny and bed is super hard. Very noisy with slamming doors. Expect the restaurant, fire pits etc you are there for to be closed for private events. The staff was couteous but I was very disappointed with the overall condition of the hotel. The public spaces were in good shape and updated and the fitness center was great. But the rest of the place is badly in need of some paint and an overall refresh. The elevator trim was rusty and the carpets were dingy. The guest rooms are at best adequate and have zero amenities, such as a coffee maker.

I wish there was a coffee maker in the room, also the TV was very small and angled away from the bed. It was super quiet, which was great, and very clean and warm.

Check in process was quick & easy and staff was very friendly and informative. Lobby was very inviting. We stayed on the 4th floor. Views out the window were awesome! There was even a telescope at the large window so you could see out to the river and look at the fall foliage. Our room was very clean and was as expected. I didn’t feel it was outdated, as other reviews suggested. The grounds are beautiful. Hotel is nice and secluded but a short drive to many local events.

No amenities in room such as coffee or water - no parking one night due to a wedding - hotel guests should have priority or hotel should provide shuttle service if parking not available near property. Bathroom door wouldn’t close because it was broken - tv was dated. Staff were annoyed when I complained.

Overall I think they have a good thing here, they just need competent people to steer it in the right direction. Pros: -The grounds are beautiful and well kept -Rooms and common areas were clean/spacious -Quiet location, but still close to attractions Cons: -Staff is uninformed and ill prepared to deal with issues that arise -It's a conference and event space (weddings, bachelor parties, birthdays) The event areas are surrounded by the guest rooms. The music was extremely loud in the common areas and the guests of the event were disruptive when leaving late at night. -The hosting of events there leaves little to no parking close to the hotel for any individual guests. Had to park a quarter of a mile away and walk in the dark. There's no available parking near the doors closet to your room because there's no key card access at any door. You can only use the front entrance. -Limited food options as the cafe, dining room and bar on site are only open on certain days for a few hours. -Employees, specifically reception, don't know a lot of information or chose to share it.

There was a line 20 deep at checkin. Check in is 4 and they pretty much hold to it. The rooms are spartan1 easy chair no refrigerator. Facility is beautiful in a beautiful setting. Only one wash cloth for two people. I think they are still trying to get their act together

Very unique property. It's a big onsite property like a campus - and they have carved out a hotel area. Very new, well kept buildings and grounds. The location is actually on a long hiking trail with beautiful views. The room wasn't huge but very clean and beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Staff was very helpful. It's a great alternative to the chain hotels in Elmsford - a whole different vibe. Has the Hudson Valley character.

My and I booked for a quick stay at Windrose on the Hudson and although we were disappointed that we did not have a view of the Hudson River from the property the property itself was amazing. The property is vast and the hotel itself is confusing, but that added to the charm. It is close to shopping and areas that offer many food optionsas well as its own cafe on the grounds. The property was not built to be a hotel, and you can tell, but the converdion from A GE training site to hotel seems natural. We definitely wanted to be there longer to explore more.

Be prepared for the bar only having a very limited menu and that is the only dining option on site after breakfast. Breakfast is offered in the main lobby area and there is also a cute coffee shop on the property. Also, there aren’t ice machines, glasses, etc so bring your own water. Rooms are clean with great storage and views, particularly during foliage season. There are huge game rooms available with pool tables, table tennis, foozeball, etc. tons of space to play and socialize. There are gorgeous propane fires outdoors and outdoor tables and benches. The property is right by the parkway so it is very convenient. We will definitely be back!

Winrose on Hudson - beautiful property. I was excited stay in the same town my son moved to however, your site states that this property has bike rental & trails, billiards/pool tables, foosball, table tennis, karaoke, restaurant, bars, coffee shop, fire pit. None of that was available when I stayed from Friday to Sunday. I was told for the biking that certain groups can use that but not me. They were short staffed. I hope they get staffed to offer these amenities soon. This property truly has much to offer if fully equipped. The elevator stopped working several times so I took the odd stairs for fear of getting stuck, the air conditioning did not work Friday night and all day Saturday and then it went off sometime between Saturday and Sunday. The coffee shop was open for four hours from 6 AM to 10 AM in the morning but no food. I was told that a restaurant was open. I didn't stick around. The place is very quiet, but there’s no walkability to anything off property. I hoped this could be the place my husband and I could stay when we visit our son but it won’t work for us. I don’t think the room rates were reasonable given the above. I heard a lot of I’m sorry we don’t offer that. I’m sorry you can’t do that. I walked all over the beautiful place frustrated that I couldn’t use any of it. It’s just a room with hands off everything else.

Windrose is a convention center, no ongoing restaurant, and probably no breakfast unless there is at least a small meeting there. Breakfast from 7-9 only and cost $25. for a buffet, plus tip. Lovely grounds but we didn't have time to use them during our stay.

A former corporate conference center, the grounds are stunning, the room clean. I did feel I was staying in a dormitory. The restaurant was not open as there were events going on the days I was there. Staff was nice but I feel were new and misinformed us as to where our room was located, whether the cafe or restaurant was open or not. Very few amenities were available. The parking lot is located a fair distance from the lodging area, I would recommend valet parking but there is none. Kitchenette was closed so could not be used. Coffee bar was one Kuerig, there was a line often to use it. It is situated on a beaufully landscaped property and the grounds are stunning. I believe Windrose needs to increase its staff and have its cafe and restaurant open for guests. I do not think I would stay here again.

This is the former GE executive training center, now having a soft launch into a real hotel. They have been open 3 months and still working out kinks. Minimal food and drinks on site for regular traveler. Easy to get good food from nearby towns. Likely better if with a group for wedding or conference. Outdated but barely used furnishings and decorating make it a fun blast from the past. HUGE fitness center. Perfect brick walkways all over and 1.7 mile walking/ running path. Nice nooks and crannies everywhere to sit, snack and visit with people. Lovely fire pit area, and pooltables, foosball, and table tennis.

We stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday. We never ate anything but took advantage of the “Grab and Go” coffee station. Also, we used the INCREDIBLE, EPIC gym!!

The outdoor areas/trails need more attention, even though there was a fairly clear mowed and wooded path. There was no food available later in the evening, which was a problem when arriving around 9 PM, although they were allowing delivery services. They should at least have snacks for purchase at the front desk. When we found someone else’s takeout container under the bed when we were leaving/checking the room, the front desk gave us a free treat coupon for the nice breakfast spot on the property. They are trying very hard to get this place restarted, and I would go there again.

This is a very nice facility with a terriffic staff. Meals and drinks were great. Just could use some maintenance and updating in the room. Clean the main foyer carpets as well.

NY wedding trip stay: We arrived to check in only to be given a room that had not been turned-clean, called front desk she did apologized and walked the long way back to A202 to hand over our key. This hotel is so old in need for a make over wasn’t expecting this at all! Not having room service nowadays is bad business. To their credit they do offer complimentary lobby Coffe e-tea drinks and cream only. Sadly I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Front office was courteous. Consider anywhere but here.

Awful. I have traveled on five continents for work and pleasure. This may be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is desperately in need of a deep clean and renovation. I have still not - three days after checking out- received the refund of the $50 I was charged for “incidentals” when I arrived, I thought this meant there was a room bar. There was not, instead a fridge that didn’t work, and when I told reception it didn’t work they were disinterested. There was water in the room in a re-used container. I thought I could sign for my meal, I was told to pay. I did. There was a small body lotion in the bathroom, not enough to cover the body, which I used on the first day, despite asking 3x it was not replaced. The reception staff are surly and disinterested. I doubt that even this complaint will be taken seriously. Old, tired, not very clean, fraying fabric on chairs; thin, coarse towels :( It claims it is 1 mile from the train station, it is not, it is a 3-mile cab drive away. You cannot walk anywhere, you need to hire a car or spend a lot on cabs.
Awful. I have traveled on five continents for work and pleasure. This may be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is desperately in need of a deep clean and renovation. I have still not - three days after checking out- received the refund of the $50 I was charged for “incidentals” when I arrived, I thought this meant there was a room bar. There was not, instead a fridge that didn’t work, and when I told reception it didn’t work they were disinterested. There was water in the room in a re-used container.
