Super 8 by Wyndham Abilene North

The pool was closed. The room had 2 beds and a dresser. No desk, chairs or night stand. The sink did not work properly. The bathroom floor was unsteady. We checked out and left.

Nice person at the desk. The room was newly remodeled but not completely finished. Freeway is noisy and stairs are rusting apart. I recommend fixing the stairs and getting triple pane windows. Sorry!🙂when it’s finished it will be very nice!

As is typical, breakfast is not diabetic friendly, so very limited. Coffee but no tea. Room is basic, no phones, no real America, furniture is decades old and worn and linens had cigarette burns A/C was good. Pool closed and looked like hasn't been used in awhile. The sign barely lights up at night, so place looks like it's on the decline.

Not well maintained Stairs are dangerous Room are dated

In walking in the room smelled like moldy sheets it was very hot the chair on the desk was falling apart sheets on bed had stains also no WiFi the stairs leading to the second floor felt dangerous and as if they’d break at any moment

We pulled up in the parking lot and left. This motel was nothing like the photos posted on line. There was an old run-down boat full of old clothes and trash parked outside . There was old bbq grills out on the sidewalks. The windows were filthy. The curtains and or blinds were torn up in the windows. There is a huge 1980 satellite dish on the roof. Very old and run down on the outside. I could just imagine what the inside looked like.

The room that I reserved was not available. The swimming pool was dry and had been for a while. We had to go and ask for towels, and the internet password.

The counter clerk was really slow. There was trash and beer cans all around the parking are. The room melt like week had been smoked in it. The mattress had mid craters in it. The Ac did not cool properly.

The hotel and grounds were filthy. Every trash receptacle was overflowing. One room even had a broken pallet against the exterior wall. The room had spider nests large gear than 5 inches with dead insects in them. I did not stay.p

MOLD, in bathroom and in the room by the AC. Smoking room so I understand the smell HOWEVER, WASH the curtains every so often. I used the on site washer and dryer to wash them myself! While swimming in the pool that needed cleaning, the light fixture came floating up. Scared the heck out of us. PLUS, my boss got a room same day and he paid WAY LESS!!! We had to buy candles, and room spray, and wash the sheets ourselves. Even had to buy mold spray. MOLD KILLS! The AD DIDN'T COOL PAST 80!!

Rooms were filthy, full of black mold, and they said they would refund my money and did not. For your own safety STAY AWAY…..

Rarely leave reviews, but this didn’t meet expectations. Didn’t expect it to be fancy, but expected it to be clean. It wasn’t. Carpet hadn’t been vacuumed and sheets weren't clean. Got in late from long day of travel so slept on top of bed rather than hassle with switching hotels. Bathroom and shower was clean thankfully, but a dirty towel was hanging on the door. One towel looked dingy and dirty so used the other towel which, at least, smelled clean. On the positive side, the front desk person was helpful and courteous, the bed was comfortable, if not clean, and the air conditioner and refrigerator worked. Overall condition of the room was pretty bad with damage to the walls, musty smell and an obvious water damage spot on the ceiling. It was a last minute decision to stop in Abilene, so I picked this hotel due to convenience to the freeway and overall price. The pictures looked much better than the reality. I should have looked at the reviews, as there are many similar reviews to mine. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was disgusting. It was dirty and gross. The bathroom was almost cometly covered in black mld on the whole ceiling. The walls were not even finished. I have pictures. They took us to another room that was just a little better, but still disgusting. I wanted to throw p.

Holes in the walls stained disgusting towels cockroaches dead bugs on the walls on his wall disgustingly dirty microwave the list goes on

Bed bugs were in our bed. They moved us to a different room at 1 am. And then when approached about it at the front office… they shushed me and treated me with additional disrespect. They were scared others would hear about the bed bugs, but truthfully if we had known, there would be no way in hell we would have gone here.

I booked 3 rooms and they all had bed bugs. We had t leave

This hotel was filthy inside and out. Multiple holes in walls in room. Dirty bathroom. Broken mirror. Filthy carpet and furniture. Cigarette burns in bedding. Did not stay after seeing the property. I have yet to receive a refund.

This is not somewhere I would recommend anyone coming to not even for the night it was so bug infested and dirty you can tell that the housekeeping barely cleaned up before someone new came in the room I ended up having to change rooms in the middle of the night because I woke up to use the restroom turn the light on and it’s about 20 roaches scattering on the floor like seriously and I’m pregnant and I had my 2 yr old so that wouldn’t work this place needs new management or to be shut down immediately

Dirty room, filthy tub & toilet, clean sheets.

The room was filthy, there were live and dead bees in the room, there was trash left, carpets were dirty, unvaccuumed, and wet. My wife got stung by one of the bees. The front desk didnt offer a refund, but only an insincere, "I'm sorry".

A/C wasn't working, so it was hot. The bed had stained covers on them

1. Sink leaked water - went to brush my teeth and ended up standing in a puddle. No other rooms available. The handyman got the leak slowed to a drip, so placed a towel on floor under sink. 2. Ceramic floor tiles by toilet/shower were loose and broken. Very uneven footing, and unsafe in bare feet. Slight sewer smell and base under tiles appeared to be wet.

Bottom line: you get what you pay for. I rarely leave reviews, however, there were several points worth mentioning. 1. If you’re going to advertise having free wifi, that wifi connection should be stable and reliable. In truth, the wifi at this hotel was spotty at best. When watching or listening to streaming services, the audio frequently stopped through the stream. We were also likely in a dead cell service area, so turning off wifi didn’t fix the issue. I had a lot of content stored locally on my phone, so this wasn’t a huge inconvenience. It was very annoying not to be able to use the so-called free wifi. 2. When checking in for the weekend, we were given a room with 2 queens, instead of the room with 1 king, which I paid more money for because of the Expedia discount. We still slept good, but this was also an annoyance. My spouse said that they probably gave us what was left. However, we checked in about 30 minutes after the start of the check-in time. I have a hard time believing that there was a large rush on weekend people checking in, it seems like there’s always a vacancy at this location or chain. 3. Along with the prior point, we were not impressed by the continental breakfast choices of either cereal or waffles. Most free breakfast have muffins, eggs and yogurt for variety. 4. This was not a modern hotel. Outlets were limited in rooms, and there were no convenient USB ports. Even budget hotels now have outlets and USB ports built into their lamps.

I didn't stay long enough for breakfast because the other guest were too noisy during the night so I couldn't get much sleep.

The room had holes in the walls, holes in the comforter, not the cleanest, etc. During the night (after we turned off the tv) you could hear the fire alarm beeping next door. When we woke up, we realized there was a bag over the fire alarm in our room. The hotel did refund us the $15 fee for my dog. If we would not have been really tired when we arrived we would have left immediately, but we were exhausted. After a few hours of sleep we left.

The first room had stained sheets, hairs on the pillows and sheets and i found a tiny shard of glass when i peeled the sheets back to look for any other issues. It was evident the sheets were not changed out from the last guest, and little was done to even freshen up the room other than the overpowering smell of Fabuloso. I went to the desk and asked for a fresh set of sheets. The clerk said none was available and offered another room. The second room, again the card did not work and he just offered me a third room. The third room, the card did not work so he had to let me in the room with his key. This room was a bit better though, again evident that the room was really not cleaned between guests. The floor was still dirty with spots and the bedside stand was covered with water glass stains or spills. An easy fix if the room cleaner made any effort. Overall, the building in and out, was in adeteriorated state, most room numbers on the ground in front of the room doors, dirty walls in the room and bathroom, broken tub faucet, holes, etc. It appears the owners and workers do the absolute bare minimum for the facility. And the pool was at a low level and green. Given the low rate, i was not expecting much but I will not be staying there again. With all that, the clerk was very nice and apologetic and helpful.

The room is full of problems. Bathroom is missing a doorknob. The bathtub is clogged really bad. There is not one trashbin in the room. Room smelled of smoke even though I booked for a non-smoking room.

Electrical Outlet cover missing beside the bed. Loose tile in front of sink held with duct tape. Security latch broken on door.

Room was clean. Electrical outlet in bathroom did not work. Never got hot water to sink. TV worked in that it turned on. Could not get it to connect to any programs Called front office and they were gonna send someone - that was first night. No one ever came - two night stay. Could not connect to WiFi - I just couldn’t understand what the person on phone was saying.

Breakfast was terrible. Noisy. Then they charged me for an extra night!!!!!!

When we got to our room, I did an inspection of going to the bathroom first and the bathroom door did not shut so you couldn't lock it and it was a two bed room. The doors to actually get into the room. You have the light shining in through all the cracks! Staff don't know what they're doing, and I need to be fired!!!. We got charged three times cause they didn't know what they was doing zero out of 10 recommend this hotel

Quick and easy

I made a reservation on the Hotels.com app while en route. I received a confirmation email and proceeded to drive another two hours in the expectation that I had a room for the night. When I arrived, the desk clerk flippantly told me she canceled my reservation. When I asked why she would do that she just said, “we’re full.” No explanation. No offer to help. I will NEVER stay at a Super 8 ever again! More importantly, as a state employee, I will make it my personal mission to dissuade as many people from giving the Wyndham brand the least amount of business as I possibly can.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The room was a basic room, no thrills, but that was fine. We just needed a bed, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. It was the best night's sleep I've had in a while at a hotel. The hair dryer didn't work and for some reason there was a bag over the smoke detector in the room. I'm guessing they had just done a heavy cleaning in the room because it smelled heavily perfumed and that might be why it was covered. The smell disappeared quickly, and all was fine.

Easy check in the gentleman at front desk very helpful and rooms very clean housekeeping very friendly and clean the room very good

We drove 15 hrs and needed to rest for the night, the guy was rude, wouldn't accept my ID proving it was me who booked the room can't get back our money room was already payed for before we got there and we weren't even able to check in and stay the night! Absolutely ridiculous! I will never be back to that place!

Nasty - disgusting - not really sure if it had been cleaned or not! When the clerk gave me my ID & room key, he tossed it at me and slammed the piece of wood back up against the window without a word!

Very nice service clean rooms gentlemen at front desk always helpful and housekeeping always friendly and very clean rooms I highly recommend staying here easy check in they care about people that stay here to make sure the guests are happy

It was a little scary my neighbor was cooking with the grill on the walk way and people were out on the walk way drinking beer i wont stay there again .only good thing about the stsy was the parking lot was lit up like daylight very bright parking lighrs

TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE - NEVER AGAIN I’ve had better sleep and cleaner bathrooms at a truck stop. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I genuinely feared for my safety. People were walking up and down the sidewalk, pounding on doors and yelling, supposedly looking for their friend. Someone blasted their stereo so loud my windows were shaking. The bathroom counter had cuts all over it, clearly from prior drug use. To make matters worse, a long-term resident a few doors down had their windowsill decorated with beer bottles, which only added to the unsettling atmosphere. I didn’t feel comfortable stepping outside. I spent the entire night peeking out the window to keep an eye on my truck. Between the pounding, yelling, and blaring music, I couldn’t sleep at all. This hotel isn’t just dirty—it’s unsafe. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Avoid at all costs. Pictures show the bathtub that looks like someone puked in it, disgust on the walls by the garbage cans and baseboards haven’t been cleaned in years. Filthy mattresses. The sides of the bed have metal hooks that will crack your shins. The bedside lamp doesn’t work, and has a horrible electrical wire attempt. Definitely unsafe. Thank you to the front desk agent who refunded my stay. Room 130.

I read some of the reviews before I booked our room. I’ve learned not to believe what others say and to make my own judgement. This property is older than some. Not a problem! The beds were comfortable, the area felt safe. The interior and exterior are dated, but - so what? Cleaner than some of our neighbors places back home. Staff was friendly. No interstate traffic noise. Couldn’t hear our neighbors. It was perfect! Thank you for a great stay! We left early and the parking lot was pretty full. That alone says more than a review.

Horrible. Had people all night walking around. The stairs to go up was full of guys smoking marijuana. The room was nasty. The tile was all loose .towels were stained and it smelled like raid bad.

Room was clean and quiet the only complaint we had was the curtain in the room was ripped and the trash can is to small. I would suggest that the young lady that works in the afternoon and evening take a course in customer service. I had a problem with my room key and she was to busy on the computer to even acknowledge me for at least 5 minutes. She waited until she finished what she was doing on the computer to even look up. I was the only one at the front desk.

I couldn't shower because of the weak water pressure. The breakfast was bare. The juice machine was broken. Other than that, you get your money's worth. I'd stay again. I just need to bring my own cleaning supplies.

None of outlets worked in bathroom and lamp on one bedside didn’t work. Very clean and friendly dayshift. More healthy breakfast items.

Room was very cozy, location was very nice sense it was away from the city, but the room I had had several non-working lights which was a bit inconvenient, the blankets they had were really thin, and they only had waffles, cereal, and juice for there breakfast . But other than that, it was very affordable and I would stay again!!!

Door swing lock not attached, door frame loose from wall, we stripped bed after use and found grass and dirt. Only one towel for a two bed 4 person room. spoiled waffle batter, no juice, coffee very weak. Cereal stale. Hotel staff used the breakfast mini fridge for their open drinks.

The room was dirty specially the bathroom, and they need more options for breakfast, like fresh fruit, yogurts, or protein like eggs or sausages

This hotel is by far the worst accommodation I have ever frequented. We checked in to our room to find the door frame splintered and broken, holes/cut-outs in various places in the walls, outlet covers missing from all electrical outlets, a dirty rag on the floor behind the toilet to sop up the dripping toilet, the fire alarm disconnected and sitting on the dresser,  open outlet boxes with exposed wiring, a filthy tub, and bugs that jumped on my daughter as she stood in the room. It advertised a breakfast, which we learned was not offered due to broken equipment. We checked out immediately & will never again book through Expedia.

Friendly check in. Room was dusty, pillow cases not clean, bath room unclean. Requested different room. Clerk was cordial and gave us a different room which was much better just 2 rooms away. House cleaning brought enough towels to accommodate our need. Breakfast was minimal but ok. In fairness, there were several construction workers using this motel. Also our stay was quiet and not expensive.
