Friendly staff. We were able to check in a little early which was nice. Parking was easy. Super convenient location. Easy walk to the beach and the boardwalk! Room was outdated, but clean. And, although they had a fridge and microwave in the room, there was no coffee maker! What hotel doesn’t have one? That was disappointing. After that being said I’d stay there again for location convenience.

Quiet, convenient, close to the Boardwalk, peer & downtown Santa Cruz. Older but quaint and cost is great. Beds are firm, TV is good sized, room has refrigerator & microwave. Love the care & love on the vegetation/plants around the grounds. Downside - parking area is on a sloped hill & tight spaces.

The hotel is very close to the wharf, and is adequate in all regards. The bed was very comfortable and well made. The AC/heater was excellent. The shower was good. The towels are not great but work well enough. The closest place to walk to for coffee doesnt open until 9am, which required us to drive to get some. Having some kind of coffee service would have made the stay here perfect.

Surrounding area looks seedy, but the boardwalk area is a little seedy as well. Great restaurants within five minute drive. The cost was very low, so we got fair value.

Staff was friendly upon checking and a convenient walk to the beach.. But that was about it. No water, iron or coffee maker in the rooms. Beds are hard. And rooms are breaking down. Our shower felt like it was falling apart. Parking lot was small and on a steep hill.

The location was ideally close to the boardwalk, beach and wharf areas. The facility is a bit rundown, however all the necessities were accounted for.

There's no elevator to the second floor so keep this in mind.

Bathroom was dirty, drapes had black mold growing, shower knob was sticky with build up. Green mold on metal shower rod. Bath tub very small and dangerous. Shower temperature control not working properly. T V control very dirty and sticky, so gross.

You definitely get why you pay for. The bathroom tub seemed to have mold. Towels were dirty and they only provided two, small, see through towels. Bedframe was metal and sat on top of metal barrier causing it to constantly move and creek. Furniture was missing handles and dirty drawers. Also, the parking lot is very small and at an awkward angle. Lastly, outlets were spotty with electrical sparks. Won’t be coming back!

Our room was filthy - hair, dirt, and crumbs in the bed, brown stains and hair on the towels, and general dirt/stains around the room. Arrived late and missed complaining to the front desk, but it was awful.

If you enjoy bed bugs then this is your place. Very disgusting

This hotel is very run down. Fixtures in my room were broken and hastily repaired (shower), and it was not cleaned well.

The rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. The price and the location, right on the beach, are their selling point. The rooms are basic, but have everything that is necessary. That's why we keep coming back.

The staff was great, room was very clean. Room 215 had a view of ocean. Location was terrific, everything was within walking distance.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The first room we were given had stains on every layer of the bedding. After requesting a new room, we found the second one wasn’t any better—stains on the sheets, black hair on every towel, and even in the bathtub. The shower had a visible layer of dust on top, which made it clear that cleaning and upkeep are not being taken seriously. This was by far one of the most unpleasant and unsanitary places I’ve ever stayed.

The best thing about the property is it’s a walkable distance to the beach and boardwalk. Con is it’s a bit dirty. We found hairs in the bath towels.

Great stay! Our room is upstairs and had a great view of the ocean! Two minute walk to the pier and Beach… the taco place across the street is so good for a quick lunch or dinner. The tacos were incredible.

The service was fine. Staff was polite, no issues with them. Free parking is nice but the lot is extremely cramped. Almost wasn’t able to get my ram 1500 out of my spot lol. The room was clean. No nasty stains or anything like that. But the room needs a serious renovation. Grab handle in shower was missing. Bathroom mirror all scratched up. Door lock wasn’t very secure. Curtains did not fully cover the window. Thin walls, could hear my neighbors, and I could really hear the people in the room above me. The location is awesome if you want to go to that part of the beach. It’s a short walk. There are some restaurants near by (the taco spot - las palmas I believe - across the street was absolute garbage though) All in all I would not stay there again. It was cheaper than the rooms nearby but still way overpriced for the quality of the motel. I’d look elsewhere unless these rooms are sub-200 or the entire places gets remodeled. The $290 I paid was definitely not worth it.

Uncomfortable bed: It was supposed to be a double, but it sat atop a smaller base and the sides of the bed gave out if you laid on the edges. It was not comfortable for two people.

We booked this hotel as a VERY budget option for the area. I was on a work trip and we made it into a mini-vacation. For this reason, I wasn't looking for something REALLY nice, just something super convenient and clean. This hotel is in a SUPERB location, just a block from the ocean/pier and two blocks from the Boardwalk. We loved how close it was to everything and the neighborhood was super safe. The things we did not love: The rooms are VERY small, I'm talking TINY. Not a big deal if you're just planning to sleep in the room and don't care about much else. The walls are also very thin - we could clearly hear our neighbors having an argument that woke us up one night, and with the way the walkway and windows are in front of the room, people basically can see right into your room if you don't have the curtains pulled tight and it's a bit unnerving if you leave the window open for air and people are walking right outside. If you get a second floor room, be ready for a heck of a climb and a very narrow staircase/walkway - I tripped a bit going up the stairs one evening because they were so steep and narrow. All in all, I would definitely stay here again. Everything was clean, rooms had a little fridge and we even had a bit of an ocean view. I don't need a bit fancy room when I'm on vacation, I go more for location and cleanliness.

Easy check in/out great location. Walking distance to everything. You don't come to Santa Cruz to stay in the room. Water pressure is great, everything works fine Only negative is the ac/heater unit is incredibly loud and when it kicks on at 3am will absolutely wake you. Also the outside lights are very bright and if you need a dark room to sleep you might have an issue even with the blinds closed.

No elevator for handicap. It made it difficult to move supplies upstairs. There was very little light in the room. We had to use flashlights to play games. They need a lamp on the table! There was only two my lights between the beds.

Room is small and dated but clean. Mattress and bedding were clean. Super convenient location to pier.

Front desk was wonderful! Allowed me to park car in lot and check in early. Called me when room was actually ready. Great location easy walk to everything. I even was able to walk to downtown Santa Cruz from location. This is not a luxury hotel but was clean, safe, and quiet. Great rate and perfect for an overnight getaway to the ocean. Highly recommend!

Room was clean, a block from the boardwalk and Pier with all kinds of shopping and dining. Only negative was it took 9 days and a phone call to get my deposit back.

I was there for the triathlon. The hotel is right at the center of everything. Easy walk to everywhere including the wharf. Easy parking. Super friendly staff. Allowed my lat check out because I need to shower after the long event. Will definitely come again.

Everything about the place was clean, friendly and convenient. Hope to stay again sometime. The manager at the front desk was a super nice guy and left a positive impression on our stay.

The cleaners are AMAZING. That was really well done. Check-in was a breeze, and the request I put on my reservation was there when I arrived and they honored it. They did tell me that they'd text when my room was ready, and they forgot to do so, but that's not a huge deal; I just went back eventually from some errands.

Terrible place to stay beds were the worst beds I’ve ever slept on couldn’t barely sleep the front desk lady was the worst person I’ve ever dealt with rude and nasty additude just awful. Def will never stay here again

Great location. The free parking is worth the price alone. 5 minutes to pier and boardwalk. Staff was nice. We grabbed a great room on the fly.

Had a view of the beach from our window. Very short walk to the beach. Had private parking lot. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good price. Would definitely come back.

The location is easy walking distance to Westcliff Drive along the Pacific ocean, Monterey Bay Natural Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center, Santa Cruz Broadwalk, and old town of Santa Cruz. The hotel is outdated but its location and free parking are huge pluses.

This hotel was so close and central to all the most important spots in Santa Cruz. I parked my car there for three days and used the e bike rental. It can get congested

Nice room, small but sufficient for quick overnight stay. Very few amenities but you get what you pay for. Clean and comfortable. Recommendations: a place to hang my clothes and a quick cup of coffee would go far!
