Sentinel Hotel

Hôtel 5 etoiles soit-disant, nous voulions nous faire plaisir dans un lieu d'exception, mais cet hôtel n'a pas dû être évalué depuis longtemps. Au mieux un 4 étoiles, gros problèmes de finition un peu partout (peinture défraîchies, plantes en plastique...), pas les accessoires d'un 5 étoiles que l'on aurait pu attendre dans la chambre, tout est payant (eau y compris...). Personnel à la réception aimable à première vue mais il faut faire attention à la facture, les avantages disparaissent au moment de payer, sans compter qu'il a complètement snober mon épouse à l'arrivée et au départ. Nous nous attendions à beaucoup mieux, c'est pourquoi nous ne recommandons pas. Le quartier peut être un peu anxiogène après quelques mètres. Seul le voiturier joue son rôle efficacement

The moment we walked in we were greeted in a pleasant and professional manner. The entire staff was kind and helpful. The room was large and beautifully decorated. We had a dinner and breakfast at Jake’s and both were delicious. Nick in the bar made me the best mocktail I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this hotel.

We booked this last minute- five minutes before we checked in. We had an issue with another hotel that oversold and had no rooms at our check-in

Our stay at the Sentinel Hotel recently was awesome. No other way to describe it. The gentleman on duty at the time we checked in (April 26, about 7 p.m.), who incidentally was on duty the next day at check-out time also, was the nicest guy. (All the staff were great.) So friendly and welcoming. I shared with him that we were staying there because my beloved aunt and uncle, now long passed, stayed at this hotel on their honeymoon in 1924—when it was the Seward Hotel. I only know this because I received my aunt’s bridal book not long ago from a cousin. Due to time constraints, we were only able to stay one night there, but we absolutely loved it, and hope to return one day. So classy, so beautiful, so—authentic. From the ornate ceilings to the fireplace in our room, we felt like we’d traveled back to the early years of the last century. Thank you, Sentinel Hotel, and everyone who keeps this place so clean, so perfect, and running so smoothly. Our short stay is a memory I will carry with me always. NOTE: We did not eat there, or use the bar. Unfortunately, we had very little time.
