The parking garage is very tight, and the place could use a little better attention to detail when it comes to cleaning. However, the place was not nasty by any means. Also, the pool area was awesome. If you like a heated pool, this one is right up your alley. Also, the playground attached to the pool area was nice as well.

Front desk staff and Breakfast staff were amazing. Very nice and hard working. Breakfast was delicious. Living room was tight. Only had 2 chairs and a table. No where for the kids to sit. Hot tubs, kiddie pool, and lazy river were closed most of the 3 days we were there. Would have heen nice to be told ahead of time. Probably would have chose a different hotel. Room was run down, tub and kitchen sink were not clean. There was only 1 coffee cup in the room. Fridge and freezer smelled like alcohol. Location was quiet and peaceful.

The bath tub looked nasty and stained. The Murphy bed had a bad smell and was very nasty in the wall behind it. The bottoms of our feet instantly got nast from walking through the room. They were redoing the concrete around the lazy river and it was closed during our whole stay! The parking garage was horrible! It was nightmare. The turns were so small. The walls in the turns were destroyed where people had hit them so many times getting in and out!

The staff was very friendly and professional, Milo the Supervisor serves you breakfast!! Milo is extremely welcoming makes you feel like family!! The all you can eat breakfast perfect! The pool, hot tubs, and lazy river cleaned meticulously every morning!!! We HAD a weak air conditioner called down maintenance was there and replaced it immediately! The poolside food bar burgers are huge and deliciously seasoned. I would absolutely recommend. Monterey Bay is the place to stay!!!

I just expected a little more for the price we paid. The bed was...disappointing. The kids stayed on the Murphy bed, I was scared to look behind it. The pools were heated above expectations and clean. 10th floor pool deck was closed, under construction. Many parking places in the deck were roped off and not available. The breakfast had less items than most continentals.

We have stayed here multiple times and have had great room on different floors every time. The ocean front views are amazing. Unfortunately, both times during the spring break season, the pool has been either closed and being worked on, or not he did enough. Other than that, we enjoy our stay very much. 👍

I always stay at this hotel. It's located in the northern residential area so it's pretty quiet. Also they have free breakfast which is pretty good. I was disappointed that the 10th floor pool and hot tub were closed though and I specifically said I wanted 10th floor...just for that reason...oh well maybe next time

The hotel is in need of major updating. The room was dirty, smelled moldy and looked in very poor condition. The refrigerator was not working and the tv in the living room was left on when we entered the room the first time. Why didn't cleaning people turn it off?? Room didn’t even look clean. Remote was not working. Room was not cleaned or vaccumed. When spoke with front desk about refrigerator, smell in room, tv not turning off. We were told to unplug from wall. They did not care about our dissatisfaction or odor in room or that we lost food because fridge wasn't working. Beds completely uncomfortable. We will never stay again!!

Room was in severe need of being updated. Same furniture as when i stayed there 10 years ago. Bathroom door would not shut or open properly. When you did get it shut you had to pull extra hard 5 times and it would finally budge. Bathtub would not drain so you stood in dirty shower water. Balcony had cheap plastic furniture that was dirty. The carpet on balcony was dirty and ripped. When you were ready to get cleaned up for the day you had to find a housekeeping person because it was always after 2:00 before fresh towels were delivered to your room. The breakfast was good, but I am not a picky eater. The staff was very pleasant and always ready to help, but the reason i will not stay there again is they need to update the rooms and fix the building so stuff works properly.

Our stay was not great. The room was dirty and we found cockroaches. The breakfast buffet had very limited and repetitive items every day, with no fruits, pancakes, or waffles. The kids hated the choices. The bedroom was in the entrance, close to the hallway, and people were running and shouting until midnight. The bed was horrible, making squeaky sound even if we toss and turn, and the air conditioning didn’t work well. We couldn’t sleep because of the noises and the broken air conditioning. Balcony view was good. The swimming pool and lazy river were nice, but that’s not enough to make up for the overall unpleasant experience. If you’re not on a tight budget, I recommend spending more money to stay in a better place for a more enjoyable vacation.

We did not get our room cleaned the whole time we were there. They said that we had to request it, so then we did and still never got the room cleaned. We got new towels and they took out trash after us hounding them about it. Room smelled like musty/ mold. Not too great.

Staff were super nice at checkin, so nothing against the staff, but this place was GROSS Pictures are very misleading. Dirty floors, clogged bathroom sink, fingerprints all over the walls and doors, tiny congested difficult parking garage, smelly musty couch and sheets, dirty cups in the cupboard…..the list goes on and on. Thankfully we were only staying one night until our regular week-long rental was ready. This place needs DEEP cleaned

This hotel was dirty and did not feel safe. There were other guests being a little noisy later at night. I saw a bug on one of the pillows. We were scheduled to stay 3 nights and left after 1 night. When i looked out the balcony to the building next door all i could see was trash in the lot.

The building is in rough shape. The only way to enter from the street is through the tight dirty parking deck. The pools are not at 100%. The units are dingy, dishes were dirty, doors and windows were whistling in the wind, toilet ran on the entire time and sink was cracked in the bathroom. Would not recommend.

This was a last minute decision to come to the beach for few days. The room was comfy. The AC is older and just the wall AC. So it was loud when it would run. In the master bedroom was at the end of the bed. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had a door that the hinge was off. I told them it wasnt a priority, i just didn't want to get charged. They send a handyman up to fix it. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Walk to the beach was close and pool areas were all clean.

The first room we were in was not so great. The sliding door to the balcony got stuck easily and the room was very outdated, but I didn't want to complain - until I saw a roach in the middle of the night. I called the front desk, and they offered to move us immediately. The second room was 100% better. Very clean, nice, and no issues! The front desk staff told me that each unit is individually owned - which is why the two rooms were so different. We had no further issues. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The maintenance guy even brought us towels to the pool! Would definitely stay here again.

Four cockroaches in the room (one crawling up the bedroom wall, two in bathroom, another that came out in the bathroom in the middle of the night). I let the front desk know at check out (we stayed one night and would never stay again) and they let me know they would contact pest control. No remuneration offered, not even a partial refund. Cracked, fading or old paint on walls, frames, and doors. The beds are uncomfortable. The wall and framing on the Murphy bed is cracked and rusty. Furniture is old. The interior of property is definitely not as pictured. The indoor pool is a definite plus, as well as the included breakfast. Really appreciated the fitness room, which was clean and had working machines). The best aspect of our stay is the staff. Friendly and courteous, from the front desk, to the breakfast/ dining room, and also maintenance staff you might encounter.

Four cockroaches in the room (one crawling up the bedroom wall, two in bathroom, another that came out in the bathroom in the middle of the night). I let the front desk know at check out (we stayed one night and would never stay again) and they let me know they would contact pest control. No remuneration offered, not even a partial refund. Cracked, fading or old paint on walls, frames, and doors. The beds are uncomfortable. The wall and framing on the Murphy bed is cracked and rusty. Furniture is old. The interior of property is definitely not as pictured. The indoor pool is a definite plus, as well as the included breakfast. Really appreciated the fitness room, which was clean and had working machines). The best aspect of our stay is the staff. Friendly and courteous, from the front desk, to the breakfast/ dining room, and also maintenance staff you might encounter.

The first room we were in was not so great. The sliding door to the balcony got stuck easily and the room was very outdated, but I didn't want to complain - until I saw a roach in the middle of the night. I called the front desk, and they offered to move us immediately. The second room was 100% better. Very clean, nice, and no issues! The front desk staff told me that each unit is individually owned - which is why the two rooms were so different. We had no further issues. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The maintenance guy even brought us towels to the pool! Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was super helpful. Oliver was a real life angel as he was able to get a beach wheelchair delivered to use for my 83 yr old grandmother. We had called around but had no idea what we were doing and it was her first time ever being at the beach and she was not doing great so he helped get the chair so that we could focus more on spending quality time with her. The level of helpful that was for us was amazing. I will never forget that. The rooms were clean and comfy and usable with the kitchen. The views were amazing and I'm really glad this was the place we got for this experience.

They didn’t check me in until a little after 5pm, and that’s with me calling every half hour! Refused to give me a later checkout time to make up for it! Said they didn’t want to make housekeeping mad. Parking is horrible! There’s not enough parking if you have a truck. They let smaller vehicles take up the oversized vehicle spaces. Then you have to go out onto the street and look for meter parking, which you have to pay for out of your own pocket! If you’re Lucy enough to find it! Breakfast, uh well their waffle maker was broken and they had only 1 toaster! A little fruit was put out. I seen yogurt once. They decided to do some work to the property while we were there during July 4th vacation week. Less lounge chairs to relax in, and less activities is what came from that for us. Some staff was very pleasant, and some acted as though they were mad at any time of day and that you needed them.

The staff was very friendly and professional, Milo the Supervisor serves you breakfast!! Milo is extremely welcoming makes you feel like family!! The all you can eat breakfast perfect! The pool, hot tubs, and lazy river cleaned meticulously every morning!!! We HAD a weak air conditioner called down maintenance was there and replaced it immediately! The poolside food bar burgers are huge and deliciously seasoned. I would absolutely recommend. Monterey Bay is the place to stay!!!

Everything was wonderful from the check-in.. the beautiful comfortable suite.. The luscious bedding.. and the beautiful porch set up.. We love this hotel and come here every year at the same time for our anniversary.. and hotels.com made it really affordable.. no hassle booking online.. paid a small deposit and the rest was due upon arrival.. I wish I got the name of the person that checked us in it was about 4:30 in the afternoon.. That person was lovely.. helpful.. and knowledgeable

Check in was at 4pm, we arrived at 4:15 pm and the lobby was completely full and the line started all the way out in the parking garage. I finally got to the front desk at 5:15. I was told they over booked and because ai booked through a third party they downgraded my room from an ocean front deluxe room to a standard ocean view room. They said there was nothing they could do about it other than give me the difference in room cost back which was $25 per night. It’s now been a week since we checked out and I still haven’t received my $150 refund. The room I booked was ocean front with 2 queens, sofa and murphy bed. The room we got was at the very back of the building with a side ocean view, living room didn’t even have a sofa and it was tiny. It was clean but dated. We did find a huge dead roach in the middle of the floor when we woke up our second day. I called hotels.com to complain. They called the hotel and had me on hold for over an hour and they couldn’t get through to the hotel. I told them that it’s because the lobby is completely packed with people trying to check in. Hotels.com offered to find us a room at another hotel but we had other friends and family arriving at this hotel the next day that we had planned the trip with so we couldn’t move. Pools were cloudy and shut down a couple of times during our stay. Breakfast was decent and all of the staff at the hotel were personable. Our kids did have a great time. For the money we could have done much better

The room service was terrible we had to ask every day for clean towels never after the first night did we get pool towels. We emptied our own garbage everyday because no one came to clean the room we had to ask for a broom and dust pan to clean our room. They never replaced our shampoos and body cleanser as well as toiletries.

The property itself is well-maintained. The room couldve been nicer or more updated, but by Myrtle Beach resort standards, it was a good deal for the money plus its not like you will spend the entire stay inside there. The beds were good, the kitchen had basic cooking and eating utensils but id suggest bringing your own pan and cooking basics like salt, pepper, oil, spices etc if you plan to cook during your stay. The pool area is well taken care of, we saw workers out every morning cleaning every surface and all the pools/hot tubs. The resort is far enough away from the strip that you can have a peaceful stay with just a short drive to all the attractions.

Oceanfront property. Stayed on the 12th floor with a good view of the city and the water. Suite had plenty of space. Staff was nice and helpful. Was nice to have parking on the property but the spaces were very tight. Everything was as the website said with a great view of the ocean.

This property has convenient parking and beach access. It is also in close proximity to shopping centers and the boardwalk. Kids friendly and pleasant staff. My only disappointment was that the lazy river was out of service, however, the kids enjoyed the pool.

It is an excellent location and has great friendly staff all around. Building is very old and probably approaching a major renovation. Parking with a overhead cargo was a nightmare as the parking garage ceilings are very low. Balcony smoking is not permitted, which is unreasonable.

We had to have them come mop the floor again and clean hair out of the bathroom sink once we checked in. Over all cleanliness is a 4/5. Housekeeping took the trash and brought fresh towels, trash bags and toiletries daily. This place is definitely older but all the staff were super pleasant and friendly. The pools were some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen at a resort. The breakfast was delicious and hot. Mostly eggs bacon or sausage and home fries. Grits, oatmeal and cereal were also offered. The elevators were slow especially if it was checkout time. Over all we would rate this place 7/10 but would definitely stay again. It’s a great place for a family stay.

Pros: if you arrive early you can contact them for pre registration. This will get you access to their amenities (pool, parking, snack shack, beach access) immediately. I love that you didnt have to go through a lobby to get to your room. Breakfast was good. The woman working at the snack shack was really friendly. They make themselves available through text during your stay. Very convenient for quick questions. To check out all you have to do is leave your key cards and pool bands and text out. No need to go to the lobby. Cons: weed smell EVERYWHERE. pool, parking deck, hallways, and always there when you try to open the door to enjoy the room balcony. Tight parking Housekeeping. The first day afyer checking in was fine, traah changed, fresh towels and tp. The second day, no new tp. Had to go to the lobby to ask for some. Third day, new towels thrown on bathroom sink but tp wasnt replenished and trash wasn't taken out. We had to find garbage cans in the hallway and parking decks to dump our own trash. Room doors slam shut. This may be nice to make sure theure closed but disruptive if youre trying to rest and neighbors are coming and going. No complimentary coffee. And what is supplied for breakfast doesn't include creamer so bring your own.

Property is nice & as I understand it's an older building, but some updates are needed!! Rooms were clean & free of bugs. I do think the floors could use a little more attention when being cleaned. Staff was nice & the pools were great!! Breakfast was great as well, saved us from going out every morning. We enjoyed our stay & will stay again.

Our stay was not great. The room was dirty and we found cockroaches. The breakfast buffet had very limited and repetitive items every day, with no fruits, pancakes, or waffles. The kids hated the choices. The bedroom was in the entrance, close to the hallway, and people were running and shouting until midnight. The bed was horrible, making squeaky sound even if we toss and turn, and the air conditioning didn’t work well. We couldn’t sleep because of the noises and the broken air conditioning. Balcony view was good. The swimming pool and lazy river were nice, but that’s not enough to make up for the overall unpleasant experience. If you’re not on a tight budget, I recommend spending more money to stay in a better place for a more enjoyable vacation.

I am very disappointed in the breakfast because it definitely went downhill. A variety of hot foods (sausage, onions/peppers and waffles) use to be served along with fresh fruits. Not sure what happen but it’s not what it use to be. We came in the winter time and the heat in the room wasn’t working at first so maintenance had to come. The tv remotes did not work and the ice maker kept over flooding with ice. Overall the room was comfy but definitely don’t think we will be coming back to Monterey Bay.

I’ll agree with everyone else, the parking is tight!! It’s your typical ocean front hotel. Clean decent breakfast. Nice employees. If I didn’t have it, they brought it. They have currently lost their liquor license and the snack shack is only open a few days a week.

Breakfast is not great to bad, parking garage is tight but doable, room was nice but surrounding building and facilities are average on a good day. It’s a great place if you’re not expecting a 5 star situation and you can be satisfied w less than perfect. Pool is nice. Access to beach is great. It is what it is.

I wouldn’t go back because the pictures are misleading and the rooms all are outdated and furniture broken old stained, tubes don’t drain, beds are hard, mildew, dusty, rust etc

Everyone was wonderful, room was awesome even though I would have liked a total facing beach room, but I was happy. I didn't know where the ice machines were. Bathroom did have a strong order to it, maid sprayed stuff in it but it didn't go away. I didn't care for the parking garage, the entrance ramps and exit ramps were very tight. I will come back and stay again.

I have stayed at the resort few times over the years, this was the first time being disappointed. The staff are always amazing from check in to room service to breakfast service. The room I booked and stayed in 1049 was completely full of furniture so having to shuffle everything around daily was frustrating. Especially with our group and utilizing the Murphy bed in the living room. The kitchen had no paper towels or hand soap so that was extra items to purchase. The pillows were horrible along with the bed so we had to purchase more pillows to be somewhat comfortable during our stay. Our door kept sticking so was really hard to enter the room and you had to slam it to shut it. Everything needs work in this resort. The pools and hot spas need major updates along with most of the elevators that have no ac or broken ac. There was bad smells along the halls and in the elevators. Dont get me started on how long it takes to get into the elevators playing which one opens first. Its worse than first trip. For the amount of money spent to stay the week, id expected cleaner and more inviting space and definitely less furniture in the room.. I won't be recommending this resort any more until they do some major renovations.
