Great location - walking track along the Yarra on your doorstep, right on bridge road but not too noisy. Easy undercover parking available. Beds and pillows great. Staff very helpful. Great inner city stay 😊

Very nice hotel in a great location, next to the Yarra River, right on the tram line, 20 minutes from the CBD. A great bonus that the hotel provides a pass to the terrific Richmond Leisure Centre with 50 meter pool. Nice rooms, some with views of the river and very clean. Given the quality of this hotel it’s strange that maintenance doesn’t seem to be a priority. The towel rack in our shower was visibly broken when we arrived. The hotel charges a damage deposit so we made sure to mention this to the front desk the first day. The room was cleaned daily so staff was aware. An easy repair but it was still hanging loose when we checked out three days later.

There was no milk in the room for coffee. Also no face washers in the bathroom (unusual). When exiting the car park if you followed the arrow out you were unable to continue as the exit lane around the bend was blocked off, which made exiting a little awkward. There needed to be large signage stating this.

Amora has become my stay of choice around Richmond. Decent rooms well maintained. Better than average buffet breakfast. Lovely lobby and place to hand out including a fireplace. Would recommend

The room was spotless and we were given a complimentary upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The hotel is in a great position especially for sporting venues and has terrific amenities with bar and restaurant on site. The staff are absolutely wonderful. We could not be happier with everything! This is our second stay and certainly will not be our last. Would highly recommend and we thank you for making our two days amazing.

I would have liked a better bread selection at breakfast, no seed or rye bread of something healthier. Fruit bread was nice. The soft seating has lots of stains on it which didn't feel inviting to sit on in the breakfast area. Your people were excellent on Reception and in the Breakfast area. Some of your rooms need updating and the bathrooms need the shower areas to be cleaner. My room in 433 the water sits there after a shower and even after the cleaners came in, it was still there when I came home, bit concerned about bacteria as the area never drys. The grouting needs cleaning and brought up to scratch so it doesn't look dirty. Bedrooms good though. One day coming outside the lifts on the 4th floor, I spotted the table was very dusty, I could write in the dust easier. This should be cleaned each day, the small details need managing. Good pricing at the hotel, I'd stay again and nice to have the grounds of green trees etc.

We stayed last year, and chose to go back this year as it was near to family. We paid over a $1000 for 5 nights. When we arrived we checked in and went to our allocated room. There was dirt on a light switch which looked like faeces which husband cleaned off and took a photograph. On our 2nd day I made the bed and the quilt had all stains on it. We reported this to the front desk and we where given a different room. Which we moved to and the guy assisted us with our luggage. When we got to the new room we found it was not cleaned to the standard of a 4.5 star hotel. We will definitely not be staying here again.

Good location with tram out the front for the MCG. 2 bedroom apartment was sufficent, although frypan needs an update if planning on cooking. Vent in room was covered in dust with finger prints on it. Found underwear and a towel in the washer/dryer and a false eyelash stuck on the light above vanity from the previous stay. Cleaning could be improved.

Room was quiet and the bed comfy although when we arrived and checked in we went to our room and all the dirty linen was still on the floor in the room. Other than that we had a great stay. The food in the restaurant was very nice we had a great dinner.

Stayed over Christmas break. Room was excellent - spotlessly clean. Easy access to public transport for city visits. Buffet breakfast was excellent. So was the Christmas lunch (booked separately as an add on). Would happily stay here again.

The hotel location was great. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The shower pressure was only ok but the regulation of its temperature was difficult swapping from too hot to cold. There are no toilet brushes in the bathroom.

Hotel itself was lovely, room was comfortable. I got the room with a bath, that was lovely. Had a nice hot jetted bath. however, the shower wasn't great. Couldn't work out the temperature; either cold or hot, and pressure was very low. Attended on a day that was raining but the paths by the Yarra looked amazing.

Overcharged on parking. Have slept on concrete that was softer than the bed. Shower was either freezing or scalding hot. Zero in between. Towel rack falling off the wall. Balcony so small could not fit more than 1 person on it. Thought we were being pranked it was so laughable. Have stayed here regularly and this will definitely be the last time. Would have been better sleeping in the car.

A very weird hotel to say the least. It feels like a time capsule from the 80s... but the late 80s when everything started to go downhill. I will firstly say that that the service staff were lovely and helpful and the outside and bar restaurant looks amazing. It really feels like this place is deserving of it's 4-star rating at this point, that is, until you get to the bedrooms. Having stayed at the Amora in Sydney several times, I wasn't expecting to be staying in Motel-style accommodation in the centre of the Melbourne. The rooms are tight, small and poorly laid out. Everything is dusty, dirty, old and broken or on the verge of breaking. There were two powerpoints in the entire room and none next to the bed. The balcony is not even slightly private and you essentially have to have your curtains drawn all day and night if you want privacy. The walls are paper thin, you could hear neighbours arguing. The bathrooms are incredibly dated and mine in particular had an opening window/door situation over the shower/bath set up that didn't close properly which meant that when I had a shower, the bed got wet... which not only sucks having to sleep on a wet bed, but makes me wonder how long it's been like this and how the mattress is holding up with that kind of exposure to moisture. I definitely wouldn't stay again as I feel the experience falls far short of the price point, essentially paying 4-5 star hotel prices in the middle of the city for a regional seaside town style motel.
A very weird hotel to say the least. It feels like a time capsule from the 80s... but the late 80s when everything started to go downhill. I will firstly say that that the service staff were lovely and helpful and the outside and bar restaurant looks amazing. It really feels like this place is deserving of it's 4-star rating at this point, that is, until you get to the bedrooms. Having stayed at the Amora in Sydney several times, I wasn't expecting to be staying in Motel-style accommodation in the centre of the Melbourne. The rooms are tight, small and poorly laid out. Everything is dusty, dirty, old and broken or on the verge of breaking. There were two powerpoints in the entire room and none next to the bed. The balcony is not even slightly private and you essentially have to have your curtains drawn all day and night if you want privacy. The walls are paper thin, you could hear neighbours arguing. Really clean and maintained property. Very convenient to where a party was being held. I found that the reception staff were efficient, however not very warm and inviting (very serious, no smiles) We had 11:00 am checkout, we came back from breakfast at 10:45 am to find housekeeping staff already in the room cleaning... we needed to quickly finalise our packing and leave the room... even though close to check out time, one would think that staff should wait until the actual chek out time before entering a room. Same scenario for friends who were also staying there.

The room was spotless and we were given a complimentary upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The hotel is in a great position especially for sporting venues and has terrific amenities with bar and restaurant on site. The staff are absolutely wonderful. We could not be happier with everything! This is our second stay and certainly will not be our last. Would highly recommend and we thank you for making our two days amazing.

I stayed at the Amora Melbourne for four nights. The experience was okay—but a few issues made it less enjoyable than expected. The room and corridors had a musty smell. My heating didn’t work properly (only blew cold air), and although a technician came, it wasn’t immediately resolved. I was offered a room change but was already halfway through my stay; I received a small space heater instead. Corridors were often blocked by housekeeping trolleys/vacuum cleaners, making access difficult (especially as I use a walking stick). The carpet in the corridors also had a number of large stains. Despite signs encouraging towel reuse, mine were replaced daily. The ceiling had dozens of small dead bugs—likely gnats or midges—clearly not a new problem. The spa bath couldn’t be used properly due to limited hot water. The breakfast buffet was basic and, I felt, overpriced; barista coffee wasn’t included, and the self-serve machine sprayed milk/chocolate everywhere. I also witnessed poor service when an well-dressed (and not young) guest asked for a serviette to clean up a floor spill—a staff member, who wasn't busy handed him a serviette instead of cleaning up the spill. IT systems seemed unreliable, even the post-stay customer survey link didn’t work. On the upside, the location is great, the room rate was fair, and Jacob behind the bar was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and professional. He was the service standout. With some improvements, this could be a much better hotel.

My original room had an old bed that played havoc with my back. At 7:00am the following morning I told the concierge and he was going to get the staff to make the bed firmer. Five hours later nothing had been done and his solution was to put doonas on the mattress to firm it up. I was most distressed, exhausted from moving out of my apartment and needed to taken strong painkillers and rest. Eventually I was put into a room where the concierge asked me to try the mattress as it was ‘a new one’. It was good. This room was not an upgrade but a downgrade to a single room from my two rooms. It was in better condition than the more expensive one. The bathroom/s need upgrading and hotel products need to be on hand. The second room had better shower products than the more expensive one. One tissue left in the box with no spare in the room or bathroom. No jug to put water in the fridge. The dining facilities were excellent both in food and staff. I have not paid the bill as I’m waiting for a proper adjustment not a one of $68.69 credit. There are two nights that I stayed in the cheaper room with no adjustment. Overall, it has left a sour taste and I don’t believe I will stay there again.

It was convenient to get to the MCG, city centre and suburbs. The carpark was handy. The location is quiet and the grassed area leading down to the walking trails on the Yarra is beautiful. The staff were friendly and super helpful.

I would have liked a better bread selection at breakfast, no seed or rye bread of something healthier. Fruit bread was nice. The soft seating has lots of stains on it which didn't feel inviting to sit on in the breakfast area. Your people were excellent on Reception and in the Breakfast area. Some of your rooms need updating and the bathrooms need the shower areas to be cleaner. My room in 433 the water sits there after a shower and even after the cleaners came in, it was still there when I came home, bit concerned about bacteria as the area never drys. The grouting needs cleaning and brought up to scratch so it doesn't look dirty. Bedrooms good though. One day coming outside the lifts on the 4th floor, I spotted the table was very dusty, I could write in the dust easier. This should be cleaned each day, the small details need managing. Good pricing at the hotel, I'd stay again and nice to have the grounds of green trees etc.

Great location. Reception area is lovely. We ate at the restaurant which was superb. Had our dessert and coffees in front of the fire which topped off a great evening. On the downside the room we booked was the king corner spa room which was very tired. The cleanliness of the room was not good. The bathroom had what looked like mould on the ceiling. The whole room needs a good refurbishment. The bed however was very comfortable.

Room was quiet and the bed comfy although when we arrived and checked in we went to our room and all the dirty linen was still on the floor in the room. Other than that we had a great stay. The food in the restaurant was very nice we had a great dinner.

Stayed over Christmas break. Room was excellent - spotlessly clean. Easy access to public transport for city visits. Buffet breakfast was excellent. So was the Christmas lunch (booked separately as an add on). Would happily stay here again.

We have stayed at this property previously and left a glowing review back in January, but it has gone downhill drastically! I have contacted them on several occasions to discuss my concerns privately, but as I am still waiting on a phone call that I suspect is never coming unfortunately this review is 100% justified. We recently stayed in a king “balcony” room and upon checking out I realized they had doubled up on the hold of the accommodation cost. I brought this to the attention of the receptionist who just said it will clear. After having a two day procedure, I was too tired and weak to argue and expected it to be rectified the next morning. You can imagine my shock when upon checking my account the next morning, it had not been rectified and had actually been added to, with the hold now being $920 odd dollars of OUR money that we still cannot access until the 12th! This is totally unacceptable! The room and food and beverages were totally paid for separately and this is not a small amount of money. My second issue is I deliberately booked a room with a balcony as I had to remain bedridden for the majority of the two day stay and thought it would be a nice place for my husband to sit. The so-called balcony is an absolute joke, a tiny triangular area, which is standing room for one. This is a far cry from the lovely looking balcony with the table and two chairs as shown on the website. We also did not receive inclusions that we were supposed to. Won’t be back!!!
