Booked this hotel while I was on the road. Said it was a 4-star hotel. When I got there it felt a little sketchy. More like a motel as it was near the highway but in a residential area, and the building and decor felt old, dark and moody. Didn’t get a good vibe from check in and as I was alone and a woman I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping there. So it was not what I expected so I decided not to stay the night and checked out after an hour. I asked for a refund or at least partial refund but the staff said no as the room had been “used”. I understand the policy but the hotel wasn’t nearly fully booked and I booked it an hour before I arrived so it’s not as if I was holding up the room for someone else. Hotels.com customer service was more helpful and called the hotel where the staff had said they offered me an upgraded room when I said I was going to checkout, and this was not true. In fact the staff was a bit rude and questioned me instead and asked things like what a 4-star hotel in my opinion was and I just said not this... I told the staff there was no specific thing that happened for me to feel unsafe more than an overall vibe of the hotel and the fact of being a woman traveling alone. You pay a hotel to have a place to sleep, and I was just going to be scared all night and not be able to sleep so it wasn’t worth it. Sadly I didn’t get my money back.

So the place is clean and nice but the price is quite high. Staff was nice. No complaints there. Having been at other hotels about the same cost this one should be under those hotels price wise. You can get a room in Shelton for about the same prjve
