Relaxing recharge not too fancy but you can totally unwind here The spa facilities are handy the restaurant completely adequate staff very attentive and well mannered The facilities do need an upgrade otherwise it is a beautiful place fresh air and great little village in general

Rude restaurant staff, the pool area needs to be drastically renovated, the spa was disgusting, green water.

The golf course should not be advertised as a course, it is uncared for, rabbit warrens in overgrown bunkers and rabbit holes on the greens. Advertised as 10 holes, but only as you play 3 of the holes twice, so it s a 7 hole course. And they charge you to play!

Family friendly enough to keep everyone entertained. The pool and mini golf were a highlight for the kids. Staff pleasant.

This is great for kids with lots of onsite activities. Not so great for an escape from children.

Interesting property 15km from the Launceston CBD with plenty to look at - a Swiss village with some cafes and shops, mini golf, an indoor pool and a full size golf course. Ducks hang out around the accommodation area which is a novelty. The cabin was quite spacious with a full kitchen. It was well appointed though a little tired in places. Only a short drive to a supermarket so easy to cook meals or eat at the on-site restaurant. A charming place to stay a few days with the family.

Older style cabins - clean with basic amenities.. Golf and activities for the kids with heated indoor pool. Great location to explore Tamar Valley.

Buildings, interior and exterior need upgrading. Pool area desperately needs renovating. Some walking areas are in need of pressure washing as they are very slippery.

Great for families. Make sure you get your activities in as they close all of them at 5pm even the tennis court. The place hasn’t had any maintenance for quite a few years by the looks. Make sure you are at the bistro for breakfast well before 9.30am otherwise you will be discouraged from eating there as breakfast closes at 10am.

No real issues with the stay but since my children went in the pool. Their hair, bathers, clothing that got wet has the strangest smell that I can’t get rid off even a week later. Definitely not your typical chlorine smell. Clothes have been washed 2-3 times, can still smell it. Their hair has been scrubbed with bi-carb and shampoo about 6 times now and still can’t get rid of the smell. We could also smell the same scent in the room. Very strange and not very nice.

Idea of chalets and self contained was the draw card. However, the whole complex is in need of maintenance. This place used to be so well manicured in the gardens. Every villa looked fresh with paint and western red cedar accent. The pool room is full of rust, mildew and mild. Spa heavily discoloured, blackberries coming up in what was a beautiful garden bed. Road and pathways need re surfacing to make it safe for young ones. Huge risk of rolling an ankle. It really seems like they are injecting money into activities purely as a money maker and forgetting why Mr Vos built such a village in the first place. They charge such high rates but not maintaining the complex. Staff were attentive. Chalet was dirty with dust on top of fridge and range hood. Blinds dusty, cheap curtains and furnishings. Rotten timber in bathroom and again very dated. Poor wifi throughout village. It is hard to recommend to anyone. If it was cheaper and you don’t mind feeling dirty in the pool area and chalets then have at it. For the price point, anyone should expect more.

Great location. Clean and tidy accomodation. Area around accomodation could do with a tidy up. Pool facilities could do with a revamp. Room service food was poor and arrived late. Overall, happy with our stay.

In its day a great place but showing signs of wear. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Shower was over the bath and hard to get into for someone with leg problems. As well there is no lift to the first floor for an incapacitated person

Check on was easy. Accomodation was clean. Facilities looking a little tired and probably need an upgrade.

The Balcony area was un-clean, and seating was dirty. We were very disappointed with the golf course being unplayable to an acceptable standard. Having stayed there before we really enjoyed the golf course. This was one reason that we booked in again. The Buffet breakfast was overpriced.

I traveled for business. The room was dusty and had many cobwebs. Most definitely not for travelers afraid of spiders. I felt itchy upon waking from the bedsheets.

Cleaners wouldn't clean our room .there 10 days. The cleaners hygiene was bad. They Great room price $104 They serviced the room once or twice but didn't change the dirty sheets. And the sheets were dirty when we arrived from the previous guests - hairs and body fluids stained sheets on arrival. My partner reported to reception but the cleaners never changed the old sheets from previous tenants of our room. Disgusting. Breakfast was v expensive and no variety at all over 20 days

The Aspect Tamar Valley Resort is in a beautiful spot, and the idea is excellent, but the facilities are beyond tired, our room was dirty (and insect infested), the staff did not show up in the morning, and the golf course should be closed. Someone needs to buy this resort, fix it up, and manage it properly.

Overall the property is a bit run down and in need of some revamping. We had adjoining rooms, they were clean with standard amenities, beds were pretty hard.

Honestly didn’t want to write a bad review. But at $154 per night, the smallest room and even smaller bathroom, I can’t understand how it can be justified. There was no parking outside the unit - actually room was part of another unit which is a weird set up and feels like it was space that was created a quick buck. The room smelled like it hasn’t been ventilated in a century. What topped it off was the smallest TV known to human kind hanging on the wall. The only positive was the staff member at the front desk. She was very welcoming and friendly. Honestly, the place has so much potential due its location. But this experience will not make me to come back there again.

Activities, shopping, size of room was great

The view from everywhere in the resort was excellent. The room location was good but the room itself was very very old. Especially the toilet. Lot of visitors were coming into the section where the room was located, causing disturbance. The wifi connectivity in the room was very very poor. It would drop off completely multiple times. The outside maintenance team started the lawn mower at 7 in the morning. Not a sound you want to wake up to when you are on holidays. The activities center was poorly managed. We hired the pedal boat and kayak and did not get ANY help from the team. Half the arcade games were not working.

Was a 1 night stay. Disappointing the TV wasn't smart and a table would have been handy

This property is themed to resemble an alpine village. It has a lovely facade and the grounds are well maintained. There are activities for kids including a playground, mini golf, a pool and an arcade with games. My room was spacious and clean with everything I could ask for.

we were unlucky to get an uncomfortable bed, we could have changed rooms thanks to the staff to an indoor room, but we were happy with the outdoor chalet so we tolerated the bed.

Overall grindawall is a good place to stay. We have previously stayed and found the the larger units and chalets are more comfortable and better appointed. I would not recommend the studio apartment as it was too small for us,

The room was tired, old and very dated.

Lots of extra activities if interested. Large foyer with comfortable furniture. Rooms a good size. Comfortable in garden village surroundings. Power points hidden behind the bed not very accessible. Shower over slippery bath could be upgraded. A lift would be handy rather than carrying luggage up stairs to the first floor. Excellent breakfast. Overall an enjoyable stay.

The Wi Fi service is nearly non existent at the property and the beds were way too hard. The tv had only a few channels because the Wifi is so old. The resort is fantastic for families.

The apartment was very outdated. Looked very dirty due to the amount of damage to doors, cupboards, paint missing etc. We went to do Pedal Carts @ 3.15pm on a Saturday to be told they were closed. So, we went the next day, to be told there is only 3 single pedal carts. We had a birthday party and for a family resort, you only have 3 singles. Very disappointing. The man who works in the activity part has terrible personnel skills and terrible service. It's a pity because the resort itself has so much potential but the staff and the outdatedness was the biggest let down.

An outstanding property, above and beyond our expectations. Staff where friendly and knowledgeable about the area, room was clean and well presented, plenty of parking and a restaurant on site.

We stayed one night (2 adults 2 kids). The room was nice and clean, if a little dated. The most memorable aspect of the stay however was the dismal breakfast offering. We were told there was no buffet due to low customer numbers, and that the chef would instead cook to order. The breakfast dining room quickly filled up with customers and we waited a long time for food. What arrived on our table ranged from disappointing (poached eggs were hard boiled) to basically inedible (burnt bacon). We won't be returning.

Tired Old Girl Pulled into the resort to be met by a sign at reception stating “we are under staffed please be patient”. Hmm we have paid nearly $300 a night for one of their best rooms, not what we wanted to see straight up. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, but was quite dated. Balcony was old and worn, but the view of the lake was excellent. The TV was so small it was the size of my computer monitor, so we ended up watching movies on the bed on my laptop. Went to the gym and the pool. The gym was well set up with enough equipment to get a good workout. The pool area would have been amazing 30 years ago when built, but again in need of renovation. The spa was another story. Looked in and the bottom and sides were stained green. Wouldn’t advice putting your head under that water. Checked out the little village with a few shops, restaurant and bar area. The restaurant and bar were really nice and probably the only facilities that were up to date. On our second day we started to notice the lack of staff. Let me say the staff were the main reason this rating wasn’t even lower. They were all friendly and helpful, but clearly stressed from being under resourced. The pinnacle was ordering room service one night only to be told we would have to pick it up ourselves as they did not have anyone to deliver it. What? That is not room service. Told them to forget and just had snacks for dinner. All in all, $300 a night was not justified for the standard of facilities and

So much fun to be had at the resort for all ages! Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff.

I was part of a large group dining @ a Dinner Meeting & ordered beer battered fish with chips & salad. What arrived was 3 very small pieces of unidentifiable white substance so heavily crumbed so as to be very difficult to cut and some chips. No salad & tartare delivered later. The waiter argued with me that that was what I'd ordered when it clearly wasn't. If the kitchen had run out of fish and I'd been told I could have re-ordered but to lie to my face about what I was served was not good enough.

The setting was good. The young man at the desk would not allow us the room at 1:45pm which was rather poor we thought. A matter if 15 minutes!

It was roomy. Loved the whole area. Good walk to the view point.

A bit far from the city centre, but because of it, it was quiet therefore relaxed.

The Swiss village was quirky. The place was well maintained with lots to offer. Older punters would be the preferred target market. Just outside Launceston and worth a couple of days stay.

Beautiful area. My room was dated even though it was recently updated with disability access👍 Major issues getting a taxi out in the morning due to the remoteness of the property. My bed was quite hard and there were two more complaints about the hard beds while I was checking out and waiting for a taxi.

Loved the dining experience. Quick and efficient. Leon provided excellent and friendly customer service. So polite. Will definitely stay again and have the Buffet breakfast again.

Area is so dark it was hard to find cabin. No light on cabin door to find keyhole. Restaurant underwhelming and overpriced.

Nicole, the receptionist was friendly and efficient. The room we got was clean. The restaurant/ Bistro - Manager ( blonde hair lady) was not welcoming. We had to wait for a bit to be seated eventhough there was nobody in front of us. Food was HORRIBLE. We had the Mediterranean pasta, it was past Al Dante, soggy and sweet. Only tomato paste and a few halved olvies. That was my Mediterranean pasta for lunch. Dinner - my husband had the gnocci with beef. Gnocchi was not smooth at all. Instead it was thick and rubbery. I had the advertised meal of the day - Lamb Shanks in gravy. When it was served, my lamb shank looked like it had been boiled, and the gravy was chicken broth from a box mixed with corn starch to thicken it to make the gravy. Served with uncooked brocollini. Ive had Lamb Shanks many times before and never have i had it served up like it was at the restaurant/bistro at Tamar Valley, Grindewald Resort. It was incredible. The cook/chef needs to take more pride in the food he cooks and serves up. If he can’t be bothered, then he needs to find another job. Last of not least, the staff at the resort are there not because they enjoy working there but its just a pay packet for them every end of month. Its not good for business if things don’t change. This is my experience. Will not be returning again. Ive moved to the Country Villa to stay. So much better. Should have booked this first.

We loved all the wild life. The bakery coffee was the best I has while in Tassie.

We would like to give our opinion as follows 1. The cottages we stay were nice and cimfortable and the facilities were generally okay. 2. The dinner we took at the hotel was good, the foods were delicious, especially the two ladies who served us were great with smiling faces thar make us enjoyable. 3. We ordered 11 persons breakfast buffet because the pleasant experience of the dinner, but it came out terribly not only it charged us AU$29.9/@. The waiter said to us there was no buffet because insufficency of customer, the breakfast had only four choices to choose, we had no choice but accept, but the foods were terribly bad, all were over cooked the can't be ate and the services was a mess and totally unacceptable. It absouletely ruined our expectation of the stay.
