Absolutely wonderful! This beautiful property has been seen many times from the main road & we decided to stay one night on our way back to the north of Spain. Excellent under hotel parking which is very secure. The staff were all very welcoming even before we checked in. At Reception we were welcomed & checked in by a delightful charming Man who obviously loves this place. What a place this Palace is. Large & rambling, comfortable & welcoming. We had been informed that it was Fiesta time in Lerma. It did not deter us from a wonderful wander around this beautiful town filled with lovely, smiley people who just made the place so vibrant & charming. Dinner was taken in the Parador, as always food fantastic. Dining Hall very atmospheric & just a joy to see. Staff very attentive to my dietary needs with nothing too much trouble. Music at 5am was not ideal but the Hotel had placed us in a suite at the back in an attempt to mitigate the problem. Breakfast brilliant as always. We fell in love with Lerma & this beautiful Parador with its fantastic staff. Look forward to returning on our next trip. A huge thank you to all staff for their welcome.

This was an excellent choice. We have stayed in Lerma before en route to the Santander ferry but have opted for more modest accommodation. I decided to spend a little more and boy was it worth it. The only negative was our late arrival and early start, so we did not have much time to enjoy the surroundings, so next time we will be sure to arrive sooner. Reception could not have been friendlier or more helpful, both arriving and departing. We were escorted to the lift. We were on floor 4, and the riom signage was not as helpful as it could be, and as it is quite dark it is difficult to see the room numbers...until you realize they are on the tiles and not the door. The room was superb, with a fabulous bed, very comfortable, my best night's sleep in the 3 month visit to Spain. Also the bathroom is huge, and lots of opulent touches. We had some drinks in the lounge area...la Bodeguita. It was very relaxing. The dinner menu was varied and encouraging but after a long drive nibbling various items in the car i did not think i would do it justice so we skipped dinner. Next time. There is a market on Wednesday mornings so we could not park in Plaza Major to the front of the hotel. The underground hotel car park is €14 per night, which i felt was expensive, as there was plenty of alternative street parking close by. We will definitely return.

Hotel and it's location are incredible. Staff are great. Secure underground parking if needed. If wanting to stay in the area, I'd recommend here and enjoy the rural setting with Burgos just a 30 minute drive away.

Room was dark with a single small window, not at all like the picture when I booked. No comfortable chairs. The cafeteria/bar area is beautiful but so busy it is hard to find a seat and with only 2 wait staff and no on site bar (meaning wait staff had to go somewhere in the back to fetch all food and drinks) it was very slow. We waited 20 minutes one evening and 30 minutes another time before giving up. Other Paradors, like Soria, have a separate section for residents.

Beautiful building , good service at the front desk and the restaurant. However you get a sense you are getting into a government building with austere, tired decor. Room Bathrooms need remodeling I had dinner at the restaurant. The service was excellent however the food was subpar. The onion soup we ordered was lukewarm and tasteless. The medium rare steak we ordered was completely raw, we sent it back for further cooking. Overall I would give our experience a 7 out of 10.

Excellent séjour. Cadre magnifique. Le restaurant était très bon ainsi que le petit déjeuner. Personnel très agréable. Petit bémol concernant les produits mis à disposition dans la salle de bain : le savon liquide pour les mains était quasi vide et il ne restait qu'un mouchoir dans la boîte à mouchoirs. Excellent séjour.

Perfect as always. The parador is really amazing, as well as very clean and comfortable - but the staff are the crowning glory. Friendly, efficient and professional. The town of Lerma is so olde worlde Spanish too, with narrow cobbled streets, little local bars & a lovely little informative visitor centre and beautiful surroundings/views over the countryside. Well worth a visit but also perfectly placed for an overnight en route to Bilbao or Santander

It was very loud in the room at night all front yard was covered by a cars for sale and it was very noisy and uncomfortable. Room on 4th floor was dingy without any decorations and some furniture should be repaired or replaced such as bench by the bed with bottom’s lining hanging down.

Una maravilla de Parador, en un pueblo precioso. Las habitaciones enormes (por lo menos la nuestra que daba a la plaza), muy limpias y un servicio muy atento y amable. El lobby es una preciosidad y muy calentito cuando fuera hacía 2ºC. Muy buen servicio y calidad de la comida en el restaurante. Sin duda, merece la pena alojarse aquí.

Cet hôtel est magnifique et tout aurait été parfait s'il n'y avait pas eu une immense scène devant l'hôtel pour un concert bruyant à partir d'une heure du matin. Lors de la réservation les fêtes n'ont malheureusement pas été signalées sinon nous aurions décalé d'une journée pour apprécier notre séjour à Lerma.

Lugar muy bonito si bien las habitaciones estan un poco vetustas, una cosa es el encanto de paradores y otra el envejecimiento. Tele complicada y con una WiFi mala que no permite aprovechar las funcionalidades.

The parador itself is beautiful, quite majestic, and nicely decorated in the common spaces. The room was okay, with very dated furniture, a bit dark as it stood on the top floor and only had a small window, and the bathroom was not pristine as to be expected. What surprised me the most was the staff's lack of preparation to welcome and host foreigners. We requested soft boiled eggs for breakfast (which was at 21€ per person), and not only they were not cooked properly, there were no egg holders, and when we asked for new ones properly cooked we got attitude, rudeness and bad manners. We got the same boiled egg from before, cracked open, but re-heated! I have been to paradores before, and the service was always great, not here. Not sure the detour is worth it, as I have read on other reviews, there is nothing else to do in this small town, so they better improve their service or no reason at all to go there.

It did not deter us from a wonderful wander around this beautiful town filled with lovely, smiley people who just made the place so vibrant & charming. Dinner was taken in the Parador, as always food fantastic. Dining Hall very atmospheric & just a joy to see. Staff very attentive to my dietary needs with nothing too much trouble. Music at 5am was not ideal but the Hotel had placed us in a suite at the back in an attempt to mitigate the problem. Breakfast brilliant as always. We fell in love with Lerma & this beautiful Parador with its fantastic staff. Look forward to returning on our next trip. A huge thank you to all staff for their welcome.

Beautiful location, incredible and historic place. While the chicken was simple, the service in the lobby for drinks that evening was extremely slow and unfriendly. For breakfast the next morning they attempted to seat the six of us in a small room off of the main dining area, we did however push so that we could sit in the more beautiful room, although used three separate tables for two.

The parador itself is beautiful, quite majestic, and nicely decorated in the common spaces. The room was okay, with very dated furniture, a bit dark as it stood on the top floor and only had a small window, and the bathroom was not pristine as to be expected. What surprised me the most was the staff's lack of preparation to welcome and host foreigners. We requested soft boiled eggs for breakfast (which was at 21€ per person), and not only they were not cooked properly, there were no egg holders, and when we asked for new ones properly cooked we got attitude, rudeness and bad manners. We got the same boiled egg from before, cracked open, but re-heated! I have been to paradores before, and the service was always great, not here. Not sure the detour is worth it, as I have read on other reviews, there is nothing else to do in this small town, so they better improve their service or no reason at all to go there.

Perfect as always. The parador is really amazing, as well as very clean and comfortable - but the staff are the crowning glory. Friendly, efficient and professional. The town of Lerma is so olde worlde Spanish too, with narrow cobbled streets, little local bars & a lovely little informative visitor centre and beautiful surroundings/views over the countryside. Well worth a visit but also perfectly placed for an overnight en route to Bilbao or Santander

Room was dark with a single small window, not at all like the picture when I booked. No comfortable chairs. The cafeteria/bar area is beautiful but so busy it is hard to find a seat and with only 2 wait staff and no on site bar (meaning wait staff had to go somewhere in the back to fetch all food and drinks) it was very slow. We waited 20 minutes one evening and 30 minutes another time before giving up. Other Paradors, like Soria, have a separate section for residents.

Hotel and it's location are incredible. Staff are great. Secure underground parking if needed. If wanting to stay in the area, I'd recommend here and enjoy the rural setting with Burgos just a 30 minute drive away.

Absolutely wonderful! This beautiful property has been seen many times from the main road & we decided to stay one night on our way back to the north of Spain. Excellent under hotel parking which is very secure. The staff were all very welcoming even before we checked in. At Reception we were welcomed & checked in by a delightful charming Man who obviously loves this place. What a place this Palace is. Large & rambling, comfortable & welcoming. We had been informed that it was Fiesta time in Lerma. Beautiful building , good service at the front desk and the restaurant. However you get a sense you are getting into a government building with austere, tired decor. Room Bathrooms need remodeling I had dinner at the restaurant. The service was excellent however the food was subpar. The onion soup we ordered was lukewarm and tasteless. The medium rare steak we ordered was completely raw, we sent it back for further cooking. Overall I would give our experience a 7 out of 10.

Clean and conmfortable and easy parking in the square outside. Breakfast was fine but dinner was very poor which is why I've only given a 3 star overall rating. Our dinner experience here was by far the worst on our 11 day trip. As a couple my unfussy partner sent all 3 courses back, for the first itime in the last 13 years of travelling extensively worldwide with her, while my lambchop main course was in the roadkill category and my stuffed crepe finished up burnt as the waitress doing the flambe at the table walked off several times in the course of cooking. Complaints met with removal of the offending dishes which were then returned with little changed. Eat somewhere else is my advice to anyone staying at this beautiful parador, the old ducal palace.

We drive through Spain, Bilbao to Almeria & back twice a year. Our trip down consists of 1 stop at Manzanares in the Parador. We now take a more leisurely trip back up through Spain, taking in 3 stops. We found the Parador, Ducal Palacio Lerma in 2025. Fiesta weekend!! We loved it. Beautiful building, fantastically furnished, staff very attentive. A special shout out for Davide at Reception for his attention to detail & local knowledge. Dinner in the atmospheric dining room, superb. Care with my food requirements 1st class. This years first visit surpassed 2025. No Fiesta so very calm. Davide welcomed us like old friends which is delightful. Lerma itself is very welcoming. Plenty of great restaurants, bars. Beautiful Totally in Love with Lerma & it’s people.
