Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Beaufort at Highway 21 by IHG

Very disappointing , never advised that lobby under renovations and closed, pool and gym closed, only 1 elevator working from time to time. Requesting partial refund due to services not working and not advised,

Gym closed Pool closed. Bar closed for family function. Only one elivator. And it broke.

Pool broken. Fitness room broken. 1 of 2 elevators broken. Room was very large and clean. Staff was friendly.

Lobby area under construction. Elevators not working some of time. Difficult to get around

Only after booking 2 nights at $170+/night (including tax & fees) were we advised that the property was under renovation - the lobby, pool, and fitness facility were closed. There was plenty of parking, because only a very limited number of rooms were made available for guests, and there was a very limited staff. Had we known of these issues, we would never have booked. After renovations are complete, it has the potential to be a fine facility, but we'll never know. Next trip to Beaufort, we'll be staying elsewhere.

The front desk lady was so kind and helpful to us. At the time of this review, the pool and fitness center were both closed for renovation :(

The room was very nice, spacious. The staff was pleasant & helpful with our request. The bad, the lobby was being remodeled, no entry, needed to use a side entrance which was carpeted, made for rolling your luggage a little difficult. The distance to the elevator was further. Hard for elderly & handicapped folks. Two elevators, only one was operating. Pool was close being re-modeled,computor was closed.not available.

This hotel is under construction. All the amenities are not available to guests (no gym, no pool, no outside patio). There’s one working elevator! Because I have an iPhone, I was unable to access the Internet. Yes, you read that right. Apple products were not able to access their Internet system. The staff tried to be helpful, but ultimately it’s on the management to correct this IT issue. It’s the first time I’ve ever stayed at a hotel where there may have been a problem and I was given a helpdesk phone number to call so I could get it fixed. I had an important family matter to take care of, but I’d hoped to do some work in between dealing with that and could not because I could never get on the Internet. I was offered to walk down to the neighboring hotel and use their Internet, but at 9:30 at night after a long day, that was really not helpful. They appear to know they’ve had this problem for a while and management needs to fix it. I will not be back.

Was under construction but having to kill 2 roaches in your room isn’t quite what I call clean

The hotel was under construction which was not listed on the website. Spoke to a few other people in the area that said the hotel has been under construction for well over a year. Would not have stayed there if I had known. The room was also dirty when we stayed. The microwave had dried on crusty stuff inside from a previous guests stay. There was a dead cockroach by the air conditioner unit. The paint was chipping on the wall. The window shade chain was broken and coming out of the wall. The pull out couch had dirty sheets still on it from a last guests stay. The bathroom tub doesn't drain properly so when you shower you're standing in ankle deep water the whole time. The soap dispenser isn't fully secured and comes right out of the wall so the soap could be tampered with. The staff were friendly at least. Would not stay here again because of lack of cleanliness and construction. They have a restaurant in the hotel but didn't feel comfortable eating there. If the room was dirty, what does their kitchen look like. The view from our room was very pretty at least. The cubbies by the window at the end of the hall way have trash in there. Also spoke with a few other guests that were staying there that also said they were unhappy with their stay. Would have liked to switch to a different hotel but my room was not refundable when I got there so had to suck it up so I didn't lose out on my over $400. Other guests beware of staying here.

Our stay at Holiday Inn Hotel was good. Plenty of parking, the staff was courteous and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good as well. The room was spacious and very nice. Except that the beds were very high and being short, they were a little difficult to get up into. I did find mold in the bathroom shower. The wall enclosure was dark, so I did not notice the mold until I was in the shower. I cleaned it the best I could, but it needs some sort of mold spray to get into the nooks and crevices.

I stayed in the Hotel from 10-22 to 10-25- Not once did I get my bed made for my stay there. Not once did I get clean towels for my stay there. My 2 garbage pails were full a bag was full. I explained this to the very nice check out Lady at the desk. The room was very nice and check in was easy . Ron McNair

Bathroom was nasty. Mold in the tub area. The container that holds the body wash, shampoo and conditioner was not on right so kept falling sideways. The bottom of the metal holder was filled with mildew and hadn’t been cleaned in months. The body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hand wash containers were completely empty.

This property was horrible. Not only was the lobby area a sight for sore eyes because of renovations, as soon as I walked in my room and turned on the lights there were baby roaches everywhere. They were crawling on the beds, the walls, dead ones in the cabinet, and crawling on the toilet. I left immediately and requested a refund. Highly DO NOT recommend.

Had to exterminate several cockroaches in the bathroom of room 314. The pool and gym were closed as well without notice to guests prior to arrival.

Had to ask for towels each day. Mold/mildew on shower curtain. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

we appreciate how helpful the staff were when it came to an early check in and needing to move rooms. unfortunately the nice staff fails to cancel out the dirty room with NUMEROUS live and dead insects on the carpet, crawling on the walls, and in the bed! we were able to move to another room which appears to be free of live & dead insects _but_ every drawer and cabinet was open when we first enteres. even the sofa bed was 'open'. super weird. also, not one towel in the room to use after showering. we placed a call asking for towels to be sent up. approximately 4.5 hours later we had to go downstairs to ask for/get towels. this location should be a HARD PASS if needing a hotel room; and we have the photos + video to support this.

There were small cockroaches in the room, the air conditioner stopped working and the hair dryer didn’t work. We were moved to another room on the second floor, that room was fine. The bar and restaurant ran out of food so the menu was very limited or the ingredients listed on the menu were omitted. Staff was nice despite the challenges.

The stay was ok this time but a little disappointed. The air conditioner was not working good and was extremely loud. I have stayed there alot during the last year and this time was a letdown

Obviously the interior has been updated - large rooms - plenty of electric outlets around the room - good lighting throughout the room. Only negative - the placement of toilet paper rolls is not ideal! The only worse place would be on the wall above the toilet!!

Good things first. Property is clean and spacious. The suites have a great amount of room, there's nothing wrong with them besides the usual low water pressure in the shower. Bad part: the breakfast. It's fine when I've traveled alone but with kids, it changed my mind. The servers are friendly and all but I had to argue about the check every morning for their own prices and stated deals. "Kids meals have a milk included in the price" and "Kid eats free with an adult purchase" i had to argue every day. I never even got the free kids meals, i stopped trying. I don't know if they just never understood the wording on the kids menus or what. Also, 1 server refused to let an 11 yr old disabled child get a kids meal even though it said 11 and under after she'd had the same thing every morningbefore. I wasn't going to argue on my last morning there especially since like i said, everything was fine as to be expected. But in the future, I'm just going to bring Jimmy Dean and stuff for breakfast instead of getting a headache after waiting 30 minutes anyway.

Elevator service was intermittent. No internet at all. Desk clerk said call internet guru or front desk manager. Roach in room. Notified desk clerk. She seemed not concerned.

Beds were amazingly comfortable!

We had a lovely marsh view. The beds are too high. My husband and I are both short and in our late seventies. As funny as that may seem, it was difficult getting in the bed. If we stay there again, we will bring a step stool.

The entrance was filthy. The front desk clerk was very rude, I asked to check in at 3:15 and she pointed to the sign behind her and said "check in is at 4pm. The room was in need of a good cleaning. The toilet seat had chunks out of it and stains on the door. We never got housekeeping the second day. On our way out, the desk clerk said that all of the housekeeping staff had left for the day and if we needed anything, stop here on your way back. I did stop but no one was behind the front desk on two occasions. One of our two keys had to be re-programmed twice before it worked. We went to the bar the first night and waited for 10 minutes for a server to take our drink order.There was only 1 other person at the bar. We asked to see a dinner menu and was told that they\'re out of almost everything but they do have burgers, cheeseburgers, and she thought maybe Caesar salad. Needless to say, we went elsewhere for dinner. The air conditioner was so very loud that it woke us up several times. The alarm clock didn\'t work. We had to slam the door with our shoulder to open it. All around, a bad experience!

Incredibly courteous and professional staff. Very clean room. Just a very nice visit. Special thanks to K at the front desk but honestly everyone was awesome.

The staff and poor customer service diminished this experience. Front desk staff person was very rude. Started with not locating my reservation even after i provided my confirmation. They apparently had a large group checking in that had her flustered. I understood and waited patiently, but her rudeness once it was my turn was intolerable. The next morning, I inquired about the breakfast. Her response "it\'s a restaurant, if you bought it, a viycher would have been given to you at checkin". Well, she was the one who checked me in and it wasn\'t provided to me. She had to verify plus i pulled up my purchase, and she reluctantly provided the voucher. They were kind enough to grant me late check out at noon versus 11. At 11:08 someone is banging on the door saying it\'s time to leave. I walk over and say that I have 12 oclock check out. She starts banging again while yelling no, no, no one told me and they are dupposed to tell me. I walk bavk to the door and crack it open so she would stop banging and yellinv. zi again tell her that i have late checkout. She proceeds to kepp repeating the same thing until i just clised the door. Ughhhhh! You cant make thiz stuff up!! Horrible!

Best Staff in Beaufort

The staff was great, very helpful and lots of smiles. The rooms were large and roomy. I only put four stars on property facilities and condition because they were doing major renovations to dining/bar area but its almost finished and it is going to be amazing. I saw the furniture going into it and it is really nice

Great place to stay and would stay here again. Erica was very kind and in these days kindness goes a long way.

Jennifer helped our family so much and I appreciate her kindness, compassion, and helpfulness. I had an issue an at different hotel and called her at 6am desperately needing a place to rest after the rough night at the previous hotel. She listened to my whole story and got me in a room in a flash. I am so grateful that you have such an outstanding caring employee. Jaynelle and Lashonda were also at the desk when I arrived. They also listened to my issues and were compassionate. Everyone I interacted with at the front desk were friendly and caring. Thank you everyone here for allowing me enjoy our time in Beaufort while we picked up new Marine! Please recognize these employees for them going above and beyond. Thank you so much! ❤️

I selected this hotel in hopes that it would provide us easy access to Parris Island for our grandsons graduation and it was so convenient. The room was larger than I expected. Everything was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff were very pleasant and the check in process was a breeze. We were aware that the pool was under renovation prior to our arrival and we were given options for beach locations one of which was very close. Great trip!

Bartender needs to learn how to make a martini! 😂 Breakfast left alot to be desired, I mean how do you run out of Bacon, orange juice, and english muffins!! However, dont ever lose Keneisha in the restaurant, she is a real asset to this hotel!!

The king sized bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very large and well equipped. The bar and restaurant were cozy and the food was good. I highly recommend pre-purchasing the breakfast because it’s a delicious hot made to order meal, not just your typical continental breakfast and it’s a very cheap price. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations but that didn’t interfere with our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay again.

We go down for a quick breakfast to find out it was to be ordered with a waiter. Was reluctant because I needed a quick breakfast, but there was few people eating and the hotel would not return my vouchers even though the website said nothing about not having a buffet. All in all we waited over an hour for hotel breakfast. That’s supposed to be fast. Wife got her food and then I was told the cook forgot to cook mine. I proceeded to pack our entire room and load in the car and still waited 15 minutes for my food. Extremely unhappy about that because I was counting on a quick one and be on my way, but instead wasted an hour of my 2 day vacation. Not to mention, the other guests in there unhappy because they didn’t get their food or the wrong food brought out to them. The ceiling in the breakfast room was falling apart and leaking on one man’s table. The trash can outside the entrance of the hotel was overflowing with trash on the ground. Q-tips were stuck in the top corner of the ceiling of my room with looked like toothpaste. All in all, I won’t be back. Wasn’t pleased. Least the bed was comfortable….

Only one elevator worked and was told by another guest that both were down for a while and they had to use stairs! Only one server in the restaurant on Sunday morning.. over one hour to get a simple breakfast! The server was overloaded and don’t know about the kitchen but awful for Sunday morning!

The front desk staff was very friendly and nice. The room was large, but very outdated. (I know they are working on renovations - but I didn't see any actual work going on). The Dining Room was greatly understaffed - one person for the whole Dining Room. Service was slow, but I understood why. The breakfast 'buffet' on Saturday morning was AWFUL. Undercooked sausage links, cold potatoes, grits and scrambled eggs. That was it. You could request toast from the kitchen and I did ask for some fruit. Definitely not worth the money. I would not stay here again.

THERE IS BARELY ANY SERVICE EVEN WITH THE WIFI PASSWORD. If YOU USE YOUR PHONE ALOT DO NOT STAY HERE. Over all nice place. Bar/restaurant doesn’t offer much. There’s only a few things to choose from. Wouldn’t recommend eating there.

I paid extra for the breakfast which they could not provide because the waitress didn’t show up. So one person not coming in meant no breakfast when we purchased it. Also the day before we left they sent a note saying the pool was under renovation. This pool was one of the reasons we booked there. Further we found a roach in our room.
