Country Garden & Suites

This property is immediately next to the I-57 ramps, keep that in mind whether its a plus/minus for you. It is compact and motel style, with a big convenience being there's a big Phillips 66 walkable from the parking if you need all that awesome stuff. Unique cool stuff that was unexpected: huge newer TV, heat lamp in the bathroom, a video gambling area in the lobby. Great value for people doing fishing/camping/hunting or traveling solo.

This place was extremely cheap. It was extremely clean. It didn’t smell like marijuana like most hotel rooms too. They were slot machine, machines, free alcohol and it was very comfortable and I enjoyed my time there. My wife and I felt safe and it was great as we went and watched our kid play Division I college football. It’s awesome to have a place that doesn’t break the bank and is comfortable and has stuff for you to do.

Need to refurbish bathroom vanity. Access through gas station parking lot inconvenient. Expected coffee pot and microwave in room.

Hotel rooms under renovation, it’s ok but not great. Breakfast was to begin at 6am, 6:10am the door opened but nothing was ready, the guy literally plugged in a skillet on the floor and put sausage links on it while he squatted there cooking them. At that point we got up and walked out. We picked this place to stay being it was right off the interstate, had connecting rooms (we needed 2 rooms) and had breakfast as we have 5 kids traveling with us. Controlling costs is important to us.

This is a very old facility and it looks it. No PM security, entrance doors open all night, desk attendant had to be searched for.

The sign was hard to find and the place did not have its own entrance. You had to enter through another business. Once you got in it was clean and comfortable but we went around at least 3 times - with GPS - before we saw the sign and figured how to get to it.

Currently under renovation. Aesthetics were not completed and werenot used in this review. Beds were very comfortable and showers had hot water and great pressure. Shower head was nice and had a full stream of water. Saw work construction crew more than staff. Was not a hot breakfast beyond what fit in toaster. Room was clean and comfortable. Ice machine was small and was heavily used for Labor Day.

The door to the building did not shut and had no lock at all. Anyone wandering around could walk in and through the building at any time. The “hot” breakfast was coffee. There were a couple cold choices such as cereal and yogurt.

A go place for overnight or longer. Great breakfast & Large Gaming slots room. Quiet room. Large TV. Good water pressure in the shower & plenty warm. Bed was very comfortable & comforter kept us nice & warm.

I was greeted by a very friendly and excellent efficient staff. The room was clean and neat and all amenities were there. The breakfast was totally wonderful There was ample parking. Oh yes, the access to this property from I 57 was really great.

We had to switch rooms when we got there because of roaches. The second room we moved to also had roaches. Shower curtains in both rooms had mold on them. I would not recommend staying here. The staff was very helpful.

Definitely a place to rest your head at night. When we arrived, I found several brown stains all over our sheets. Thankfully the front desk staff gave us a new sheet in which it was also stained. The floors were very nasty, after walking around for less than 20 minutes, my feet were stained black. The property claims to be smoke free but smelt very strongly of weed and cigarette smoke. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Clean and comfortable stay. The property is well-maintained newly remodeled delicious hot self-service breakfast. Friendly and efficient check in experience. Would definitely stay here again.

From pulling into the parking lot it looked run down and not like the pics on the site. Going against my gut, we went in thinking that maybe they hadnt redone the outside. But upon walking in you could smell an undeniable scent of wet decay. We grabbed our room keys and headed onward. The whole hotel stunk and it looked nothing like the photos! There were cobwebs on the wall and bugs. We didn't even sit our bags down. Ww told the front desk we would not be staying and they didn't care. They aaked if we wanted different rooms, at that point i waa tryung to find a different hotel. I waa also trying to file a grievance and get a refund. I walked out without a refund feeling like i needed a shower. Do Not believe the pics for this hotel!!

The rooms had bed bugs had to find a different hotel.

It was incredibly dirty. And the smoke detector in the room wasn’t attached and the bathroom amd linens were dirty. The bathroom door didn’t even close. We left immediately and rebooked 20 minutes north.

Room was clean but no coffee pot and after 8:30 am the breakfast bar was empty including coffee. They were supposed to have the breakfast bar open until 9am. The water in the shower would go from hot to cold within seconds and you couldn’t even control it.

Very old and run down. Our door wouldn't lock unless you slam the door and the screen on the TV was busted. The breakfast was a waste. I wouldn't stay here again.

The property is old. Pictures on line do not properly describe the property. The beds in the double rooms are full size not queens. There was water damage in the bathroom. The property had a musty smell. You could not regulate the water temp in the shower. It would be great and then freezing cold then scalding hot without touching the water. Not the worst place I've stayed, and I've stayed in allot of places but close.

I think this is a renovated property not run by a chain, and so it has some originality and quirks to it. The room was large and clean, and the bed was terrific for a good night's sleep. Microwave and small refrig, hair dryer, everything I needed.

The hotel is a little run down, but the bed was suprisingly SUPER comfortable and it was very clean. If you are in Benton, I would stay here again rather than making the drive to Marion or Mt. Vernon, and the price was good.

It's a very good location for the purpose of my stay, but that's where the positivity ends. In our room there were multiple sealed holes in the walls, one of the blankets had cigarette burns in it, the fire alarm was coming out of the wall, and the bath tub was a little dirty. Everything was also very low to the ground, which, while not necessarily a bad thing, showed a lot of empty space to notice the poor condition of the room. The hallway also smelled pretty strongly of cigarette smoke. The only other potential upside is the beds are VERY soft, of you like that. I found it pretty difficult to sleep on them because I felt like I was sinking in. Finally, the overall vibe of the place felt unsafe, especially as a same-sex couple. We definitely locked the deadbolt, chain, and put a chair in front of the door to be safe. I've stayed in worse places before, but not many.

Good check in. Room was clean and tv worked. Was given a wifi password at check in and different one in room. Neither worked. Motel was a bit run down

The office person was very nice and accommodating, the room was large with a comfortable bed, nicely decorated. More choices for breakfast. Conveniently located off the highway. The only thing I did not like was that the side entrance was not secure. It was left unlocked, not like most motel/motels that need a key card for entry. Also fairly priced.

I went downstairs at 6:30 for coffee, they open at 6am, Lights are off, no one there in office??? No one there to check out. Scary!

I checked in and went to my room, and the room was clearly occupied by somebody else. So I go back downstairs, and I told the guy working the desk. He was on his phone and barely looked up at me. He was surprised, but he gave me another room. I go to that room and there’s a “do not disturb” sign hanging on the door. I’m not going to enter a room and get shot so I went back downstairs and told the guy, still on his phone. He takes my key and goes up to the room and opens the door. All ok. Housekeeping just forgot to remove the sign. I get settled and want to watch some TV and the remote doesn’t work. So I put some clothes on and go back downstairs and tell the guy who is still on his phone. He comes upstairs with me to check the TV so I propped my door open for safety. He said he’d be back, so I sat on the bed with the door propped open waiting for him to come back. 30 minutes passes. I go back downstairs and he’s sitting behind the desk playing on his phone. I Told him I was waiting for him to come back with another remote. He said his job was the front desk and he was not a maintenance man so I told him to get me another room. This guy was a complete jerk from the minute I walked in. I could barely understand his accent, and had to ask him over and over and over again, to repeat himself. Thankfully, I don’t live in this area. I will never have to go back to this dump with the worst customer service I’ve ever had. The guy just could not be bothered to do his job. ZERO stars.

I had an excellent stay. PK at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean & comfortable. This is my hotel of choice when traveling through Benton il best hotel to stay when you traveling through i57

Showed up to all hotel doors wide open. And a man who barely spoke English telling me to leave door open no air conditioning in hotel. Asked for refund he said no had to go to Expedia for that. And I left! With a printed receipt

Excellent, Hotel Highly recommend This was a stop on a cross country trip. The hotel was fantastic. It was exceptionally clean. The room was very comfortable. The Hot Breakfast were excellent and the big tv for entertainment free HBO and SHOWTIME the staff were very personable and friendly.

We got the room for the evening before the Solar Eclipse on 08/08/2024. Paid $450 (astoundingly expensive), obviously taking advantage of their location. They have refreshed the Hotel, but it was done on the cheap (so the quality in workmanship was lacking). Room 407 had a bathroom that didnt have a working ceiling light, and no fan (so the air was stale) plus a stained bathtub - and water was like on a navy ship ... hot then cold every 30 seconds. Beds were comfortable & clean tho (thankfully). Breakfast was lacking freshness (eggs were old & was not replenished when container was empty, biscuits were hard), but sausage links plus gravy was plentiful & cooked/replenished consistently. Breakfast room was too small for the amount of guests eating. Slots in gameroom were tight as a fist (not worth the gamble). If we ever come back to this area, I'll choose another venue.
