Clean, convenient, friendly staff, nice breakfast, but the hot tub is out of order and it appears it won’t be fixed anytime soon. Bummer. Walk across the street and grab lunch at God Fuel-their poke bowls are really good.

Check in and check out was easy. The pool area was big along with the pool. The hot tub was not working, but they did have a sauna. Breakfast was ok. Typical hotel breakfast. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant!

Room was comfortable, staff helpful, breakfast hot & tasty, pool area clean and well appointed, other guests were friendly. Both restaurants across the street are great. We always enjoy our stays in Hampton, Iowa.

Honestly, it’s a hidden gem. The room was clean like your mom cleaned it. It didn’t have any weird smells. Beds were super comfy. Check-in was easy and the desk manager was friendly and funny. The dining room and lobby is gorgeous and welcoming. 10/10 would stay here again.

AmericInn by Wyndham Hampton is a great place to stay. The location is easy to get to and parking is convenient. The entrance and lobby were very nicely decorated. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff members are welcoming and service is excellent.

In general, we have stayed here several times at various times of the year, and been very satisfied. This time, our room was very humid, to the point of the bed feeling clammy. Room 111, my daughter was in 115 and did not feel humid at all. Do not know what was different between the rooms. This is the first time we have not been completely satisfied with a stay at this American Inn.

Disappointed with the hotel. Housekeeping did not check back for daily cleaning when I wasn’t ready for them to come in. Out of our 4 day stay, they only came by once. I had to change the garbages everyday and go get more clean towels. I’m on vacation so I didn’t think I would be doing chores. I found a bug on my pillow and not sure if it was a bed bug. I had to leave my luggage in my garage when I got home. Scared that a bug was among my things. Also the room is very dim and needs more lighting. Overall, hotel needs improvements.

I reserved a pet-friendly room through Expedia fully expecting that upon my arrival. I was given a regular room and asked the desk clerk for a pet-friendly room as requested. She said that they don't receive that information from Expedia and that I would have been required to contact them directly for one of those rooms. Since none were available at check-in, I had to pay another $15 fee and agree to a $200 refundable deposit if the staff approved of the room condition at check-out. The staff person at check-out did not want to come view the room and said "I will take your word for it". I took pictures and videos to confirm no damage as a precaution. Our dog weighed two pounds and stayed in kennel unless carried outside for her walks. Also, there was a strong aroma of marijuana on the second floor and into our room during our stay. Outside, there was debris from an overnight storm (day before our stay) that littered the sidewalks. No one appeared to have attempted to remove the limbs, branches, etc from the sidewalks (still present at check-out). Overall, a very disappointing stay considering we reserved our room in good faith only to find out that wasn't good enough.

Our room was damp to the point that if you walked on the carpet with socks on they were soaked! The sheets were damp and uncomfortable. It appeared that there was some type of small dehumidifier but obviously did not take care of the dampness. Very disappointed!

The room was clean but smelled similar to burnt popcorn, as did the bedding. To cover this they used a plug in air freshener that was overwhelming and gave me a headache. The bed was too close to the wall/air conditioner making it difficult to walk past without bumping into it. The wardrobe placement in the entry way was obnoxious and inconvenient. Not the facility’s fault but there’s train tracks close and three trains came through overnight blowing their horns. Lighting was very dim-everywhere except the bathroom. Staff was very pleasant!

Clean, convenient, friendly staff, nice breakfast, but the hot tub is out of order and it appears it won’t be fixed anytime soon. Bummer. Walk across the street and grab lunch at God Fuel-their poke bowls are really good.

Room was comfortable, staff helpful, breakfast hot & tasty, pool area clean and well appointed, other guests were friendly. Both restaurants across the street are great. We always enjoy our stays in Hampton, Iowa.

AmericInn by Wyndham Hampton is a great place to stay. The location is easy to get to and parking is convenient. The entrance and lobby were very nicely decorated. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff members are welcoming and service is excellent.

Check in and check out was easy. The pool area was big along with the pool. The hot tub was not working, but they did have a sauna. Breakfast was ok. Typical hotel breakfast. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant!

Very friendly staff and the room was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was very good with a decent variety by hotel standards. The exterior looks a bit dated but the rooms are great. Good value for the money.

hot tub was out of service. hot water for hot cocoa and apple cider was cold. front desk worker was nice, polite, friendly. but it smelled like cigarettes pretty strongly in the lobby

Rooms were clean,staff were friendly. The issues were very loud ac and very poor water pressure in the tub stay away from room 211. Also no elevator so if your on the second floor be prepared to lug everything up and down the stairs.

The hotel was alright. Note to all arriving there is no elevator so don't pack much of you don't want to haul up the steps. We really were looking forward to the spa hot tub but it was closed apparently for the weekend for cleaning due to human fecal matter. It should have been drained, cleaned and refilled right away. It's not a huge pool- it's a small hot tub! So disappointing. The breakfast was nice and staff was friendly.

The staff was friendly and the main structure of the hotel appeared in good shape. We were looking forward to enjoying the pool and hot tub but they were both closed with no ETA on when it would be open as they apparently cannot find anybody that is willing to fix the problem. (You may want to remove that amenity from the listing until that's sorted out.) Our room also felt very damp, as in your socks would feel wet after walking from the bathroom to the bed. There was already a small humidifier on the table so that's an obvious ongoing problem. I would probably not book this hotel again.

I would stay again. I appreciated the amount of washcloths in the room - most hotels don't have enough for the number of people & nights. The breakfast was not bad.
