Very clean, comfortable bed/pillows and very friendly staff. Older building but very well maintained. The only issue was the outside balcony light was too bright with no way to block the light in our room.

It was great but the ampint of outside lights they have on made me feel like i was staying in Las Vegas and not a quaint town in Maine. Even with the drapes closed it was still so lit up in my room. I wouldnt stay again becaise of it.

The rooms and bathrooms are updated, very clean, and has everything thing you need..coffee in the office in the morning, close to Rockport and Camden and all the restaurants, not walkable but a quick drive.

Clean recently refurbished room. Friendly staff in handy location to Camden and Rockport. Took off one star as no coffee machine or kettle in the room, although coffee in the lobby from 7am.

Parking by the room, clean room, comfortable beds, and modern amenities. We enjoyed all aspects but a couple things could make the experience better. First off, the curtains are too small for the window and there is a light that is on almost all night outside the room. So the room does not get dark. Second you do hear everything. I feel that a few washable area rugs in each room could help deaden the sound of other guests. The noise could also be helped by room darkening and sound deadening curtains. The road traffic is another thing to consider if you are a light sleeper - I forgot my ear plugs this time but will definitely remember them next time. Overall though a great stay and was perfect for us.

Would stay again. Only complaints are the “vanity” wood door covering the mini frig was so tight I could not open it. They need to put blackout shades in the rooms. The outside security lights are very bright. The other option would be to provide sleep masks ! Otherwise very comfortable and staff were helpful.

The room was clean and newly renovated. However the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. I sleep with a C-Pap so I had filtered air while I slept. I did tell the staff and requested that the bedding be changed-since that smelled too. They changed it immediately. Still I won't be staying here again.

Recently updated rooms that looked very nice! Floors need mopping for sure! Seals around doors need corrected. We had a ground floor room that opened to the outside like an old motel would. I liked to proximity to the car etc BUT you could clearly see daylight under the door and pretty much any rodent or snake could walk or slither right in. Also need to add more curtain panels because the ones there weren’t large enough to cover to windows when shut.

We were looking for a place to stay only a week before our trip and found many of our regular places to stay booked and stayed at the Harkness Brook Inn. What I found was a completely remodeled hotel as it had changed hands from Schooner Bay Motor Inn and reopened only a few weeks before my arrival, even the Expedia description currently indicates “Schooner Bay Motor Inn” in some places. The good parts of our visit was the helpfulness of the staff and their desire to make our experience a good visit. The place was very clean as the “Clean Team” kept the place tidy and all fixtures/appliances worked well with the remodel. The king sized bed was very comfortable with very little motion transfer to disturb a sleeping partner. The bathroom was very spacious including the shower. They even included USB charging portals on each side of the bed. Some neutral parts of our visit were the curtains covering the windows were a bit skimpy to keep light out which the outside of the hotel is nicely lit at night. A nice pull down shade between the sheer and darker curtains would be helpful. We also found the lack of amenities/niceties at this hotel for the price. This was the most expensive hotel during our trip, yet was a Plain Jane place offering a clean place to sleep only, with little around, no pool, no breakfast, etc. The bad part of our visit had to do with the original construction of the hotel not having sound proofing. We unfortunately had upstairs neighbors that were in part

Nice, clean rooms—amazing shower! Convenient to Camden. Great value! Fridge and microwave is nice. Had a little issue with checking in after hours(8pm) but it worked out. Would stay again.

We were delightfully surprised with the rooms here. All modern and updated, very clean and spa like. Staff were so helpful when we wanted to trade rooms with an older couple so they could have easier acces. Had things switched up in no time. Just a wonderful experience.

We were looking for a place to stay only a week before our trip and found many of our regular places to stay booked and stayed at the Harkness Brook Inn. What I found was a completely remodeled hotel as it had changed hands from Schooner Bay Motor Inn and reopened only a few weeks before my arrival, even the Expedia description currently indicates “Schooner Bay Motor Inn” in some places. The good parts of our visit was the helpfulness of the staff and their desire to make our experience a good visit. The place was very clean as the “Clean Team” kept the place tidy and all fixtures/appliances worked well with the remodel. The king sized bed was very comfortable with very little motion transfer to disturb a sleeping partner. The bathroom was very spacious including the shower. They even included USB charging portals on each side of the bed. Some neutral parts of our visit were the curtains covering the windows were a bit skimpy to keep light out which the outside of the hotel is nicely lit at night. A nice pull down shade between the sheer and darker curtains would be helpful. We also found the lack of amenities/niceties at this hotel for the price. This was the most expensive hotel during our trip, yet was a Plain Jane place offering a clean place to sleep only, with little around, no pool, no breakfast, etc. The bad part of our visit had to do with the original construction of the hotel not having sound proofing. The rooms and bathrooms are updated, very clean, and has everything thing you need..coffee in the office in the morning, close to Rockport and Camden and all the restaurants, not walkable but a quick drive.

Clean recently refurbished room. Friendly staff in handy location to Camden and Rockport. Took off one star as no coffee machine or kettle in the room, although coffee in the lobby from 7am.

The location is amazing right between the 2 interesting port towns. Very fast to both and tons of shops and restaurants in the area.

Clean, well thought out towel and trash replacement/removal for multiple night stays. Not a big deal but a coffee maker in the room would be nice. Check in/out staff very nice.

Great stay. Friendly staff! Extremely comfortable beds. Quaint setting. It would have been even nicer if they had a coffee maker in each room. But, still a sweet hotel!

We enjoyed our stay here. Property was very good at communicating. We arrived late and easily were able to self check in. Room was lovely and freshly redone. We would stay here again - location can’t be beat. Not many amenities to speak of - just warm coffee but that’s ok.

A completely updated room made this stay excellent. Our king size bed was comfortable and the windows facing the woods added to the peaceful ambiance of this location along highway 1 in Rockport. Our room had a large desk area with a small fridge and microwave and desk chair and flat screen tv. There was another chair along with a side table next to it and a floor lamp. There were bedside tables on each side of the bed both containing USB A & C ports as well as plug receptacles. We don’t see these type of amenities in older hotels. The bathroom area had a shower/toilet room separate from the sink. The sink base was large and modern being taller than older standard height sinks. Towels were thick and soft! This was a great place to stay. The only drawback was that we could hear floor squeaks from people walking around the room above us. I would book this hotel again.

You can't open the windows on backyards, very tiny bathrooms supposed to be for up to 4 persons. One single sink very narrow but you have a closet for a full football team. You are sleeping with an unsecured environment. I saw young people with a face mask coming to rob the gas station at 1.3 feet of the hotel back entrance at 11 pm. Trunks riders were sleeping in their own SUV car just at this entrance. You don't feel comfortable and secure in such an environment
