My stay at Gran Hotel Son Net had both very positive and disappointing aspects. First, the property itself is absolutely beautiful. The architecture, gardens, and overall atmosphere are stunning, tasteful, and full of character. It is truly a spectacular place. However, for a 5-star hotel, I expected much more attention to detail and service quality. I stayed in Suite 23 and, despite its historical charm, the strong moldy smell when entering the room was extremely unpleasant and not compatible with a luxury hotel experience. I also had issues during check-in. I arrived at the official check-in time and still had to wait around two hours in the bar area before my room was ready. Another disappointment was that no staff member ever offered to present the hotel, its facilities, or the history of the property. Considering how unique the place is, I expected a much more personalized and welcoming experience. The restaurant was also below expectations. The menu was extremely limited, and the food itself was disappointing for a hotel of this level. Finally, I requested a croissant through room service during the afternoon and was told it was only available at breakfast time. For a 5-star hotel, the lack of flexibility for such a simple request was frustrating. Overall, a visually incredible property, but the service experience still falls short of true luxury standards.

Virtually perfect. Yes, I know that is a ridiculously high bar but I genuinely struggle to think of anything I would change. We stayed for three nights in a Palace Room (their most basic), the hotel is a serene haven, the room lovely. Food (especially breakfast) is outstanding, The pool area (there are 3) has more luxury cabanas than there are rooms so you can always get one. The staff are exceptional, often anticipating what you want before you ask. The only possible shortcoming might be the vibe. If you are looking for a busy nightlife and food photography it’s not the place for you. It is peaceful and classy. You are not allowed to take photos by the pool (hooray!). A totally luxurious retreat you will leave utterly re-charged.

The hotel staff misplaced one of our bags that we only realised after we had departed . We were then asked to pay over £100 to return the bag to England , despite it being the hotels mistake . When questioning this I was initially offered a 30% discount on postage & only when refusing to pay this amount did the hotel agree to cover the cost . the bag finally arrived in England over 6 weeks later but an item was missing . The hotel will take no responsibility for this . Extremely disappointing service which ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion.
