Beautiful hotel with lovely pool area, gorgeous beach just a few minutes walk away and easy to walk to the marina. The spa was really nice, we really enjoyed the time in the spa area. The hotel did a trick or treat event for the chidren on Halloween which was lovely. A great stay, would recommend

Superb hotel - everything there for a holiday - pools , boating lake for kayaks , spa - choice of restaurants , small private beach in hotel grounds tennis courts , good room service - and all within 5 minutes walking of marina with bars restaurants and small beachwear/ tourist shops - hard to find any fault

My daughter (aged 9) and I have just returned from a lovely week at Domes Lake Algarve and she is already asking when we can go back. The hotel is a great balance of big, but not too big. We were there mid-August (which I imagine will be one of the busiest weeks of the year) but always managed to find sunbeds when needed and the sand pool is a genius concept. My daughter also loved her sessions at KiEPOS (kids club) which gave me some time to relax and enjoy the spa. A great week all round.

Amazing few days at this hotel! 3 pools to choose from - normal, man made beach style and heated. Lovely views of the lake whilst sunbathing. Always plenty of sun beds and they’re the sturdy, good quality kind. Drinks can be ordered from your sun bed. Rooms were clean and great condition. Huge comfy beds with HUGE TV! We only had a slight issue with one of the plug sockets not working and the air con making strange sounds but that was it. Food - delicious. We were B&B so mainly ate breakfast which was full of all options and all great quality - eggs, bacon, mushrooms, potatoes, pancakes, fruit, pastries, omelettes, you name it. We ate at the pool bar restaurant which again did not disappoint. All staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Looks to have a lovely spa although we didn’t have time to use. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Wonderful stay!

overall a 5* resort although the Tennis court was in desperate need of repair with a torn surface and the outdoor gym needed refurbishing as it contained old and rusty cardio equipment not designed for outdoor use.

The hotel is fantastic for all demographics. There were great food options in the hotel and the marina nearby had some choice restaurants as well. There is a heated pool and a regular pool, so everyone's preference is catered for.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this 5-star resort! It is the type of place I look forward to returning to. Super safe and peaceful property with trustworthy employees. The staff really go out of their way to be kind and we felt each of them did an excellent job! The hotel room had a thoughtful design with plenty of space for two. I enjoyed that the toilet was in a different room than the shower. As we were there a week, I also found the large closet system well designed. I couldn't wait to open up the large window door each morning to allow the fresh warm sea breeze air inside! My favorite part of each day was the (included) breakfast buffet. It was really the highlight to starting the day off right. Plus we found no rush in waking up early, as it's open until 11am! What a treat! We also enjoyed slowly walking around the property and taking in all of the trees and birds. The large lake is also fully stocked with different types of friendly fish to watch. There were four different pools (one being adult only). An indoor spa with a Turkish bath, Roman bath, salt water Jacuzzi, and a Sauna. I was able to book in for a hair trim and blowdry, and both my husband and I got facials too. The actual beach is just a short walk around the lake on property, over a bridge outside, and you're there! Very convenient. And a quieter stretch of beach opposed to the main strips. Although this was a relaxing time away for us, we still had to work. Excellent wifi & desk. :)

However, Some parts of the property were fraying at the edges at best, and housekeeping often lacking in cleanliness and attention to detail. We had a fantastic stay at The Domes Lake. We could not fault a thing. From arriving with the car and the full valet service, to the check out with one of their many friendly staff at reception. The hotel was incredibly clean and well maintained. The outdoor areas, including the three outside pools, were all well kept. The food was also fantastic. There was so much choice at breakfast, and the dinner at Topos was one of the best we’ve ever had - special shoutout to the pork dish with chimichurri, best chimichurri I’ve ever had. Honestly, I could write an essay about great this hotel is. Everything was perfect and we wound happily return and recommend highly.

Beautiful property, though it’s showing some age (carpet in hallways, wood finishing in doors around property and in room) and we had a few opportunities in our room (toilet seat didn’t seem to fit the toilet making it awkward to use properly, blow dryer shorted out, and quite the infestation of spiders on the patio). Additionally we supposedly received an upgraded room “with a view” but there’s NO view at all from this room (I can share a pic). Staff was awesome!

Well where do I start.... What a stunning hotel! It's truly beautiful with the lake as a focal point in the lovely gardens, the other side of the swimming pools. On arrival we were welcomed and offered refreshments in a lounge area while our registration was sorted out and the forms were brought to us. We stayed on the garden side of the hotel. Beautifully clean bedroom with lots of storage to unpack. Room's were made up and cleaned everyday... such a great part of being away and having a proper break. Loved the little balcony which I sat on to catch a little sun, when it came out.... Breakfast was included in our deal and there was a lot of choice. I can highly recommend the freshly made omelettes and freshly squeezed orange juice. The weather wasn't great while we were in Portugal, but it was lovely to be able to walk to Vilamoura Marina - take a little look around the shops and have a drink whilst people watching. I just want to summarise our trip by saying thank you so much to all the amazing staff! Every single member of staff we came into contact with were just so kind, attentive and friendly. They really couldn't do enough for us.

This was our first stay since the refurbishment. I can’t fault it at all. The hotel was lovely, spacious and very clean. The staff were really warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait to return soon.

Le cadre est magnifique. la structure est top. Le hic est leur machinerie de ventilation sur toiture. on l'entend énormément dans les chambres. Dommage. du coup on nous a changé de chambre face à la mer à une chambre vue piscine vue sur un pan de mur. Mais autrement le service était top. Petit déjeuner incroyable gargantuesque. Le diner à l'hôtel était vraiment top. Les jardins magnifiques à deux pas de la plage. Je me réjouis de le refaire en été.

Die Anlage ist wunderschön, sehr leckeres Frühstück, wunderschönes Spa - wir konnten uns sehr sehr gut erholen! Die Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr nett, hier möchte ich ein großes Lob aussprechen. Leider waren die Zimmer nicht das was ich erwartet habe - schon leider in die Jahre gekommen und veraltet und es gab einen komischen muffigen Geruch im Zimmer. Das Erste Zimmer was ich bekommen hatte, war leider nicht in Ordnung, nachdem ich es gemeldet hatte, bekam ich gleich ein zweites Zimmer welches in Ordnung war, der Geruch war jedoch auch im 2. Zimmer vorhanden (muffig/alt). Der Strand ist gleich um die Ecke und ist wunderschön, ich kann das Hotel empfehlen und hoffe das die Zimmer bald erneuert werden damit es wie der äußere Bereich ganz modern ist.

You would expect that a five-star hotel offers enough comfort to avoid guests having to fight for a pool chair or wait in line for breakfast—especially when arriving 45 minutes before closing and being told to “come earlier.” As a Gold member with both Expedia and Marriott, it was disappointing that even a late check-out until 3 PM (just 3 hours extra) wasn’t possible. We weren’t asking for much—just a bit more flexibility. The rooms are outdated, and considering the size of the hotel, it’s hard to believe there wasn’t a single room available. The whole experience felt impersonal, like we were just part of a process. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you expect five-star service. The only bright spot was the pool staff—they genuinely tried to help, but there simply aren’t enough chairs for the number of guests.

Loved it all, comfortable giant bed, lovely heated pools etc but my only complaint was the lighting in the room, there was nowhere to put makeup on at all!, I had to buy a ready lit mirror in the local IHop shop but there was nowhere to put it, I think women like to look nice on holiday and this was disastrous for me but that was the only complaint.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this 5-star resort! It is the type of place I look forward to returning to. Super safe and peaceful property with trustworthy employees. The staff really go out of their way to be kind and we felt each of them did an excellent job! The hotel room had a thoughtful design with plenty of space for two. I enjoyed that the toilet was in a different room than the shower. As we were there a week, I also found the large closet system well designed. I couldn't wait to open up the large window door each morning to allow the fresh warm sea breeze air inside! My favorite part of each day was the (included) breakfast buffet. It was really the highlight to starting the day off right. Plus we found no rush in waking up early, as it's open until 11am! What a treat! We also enjoyed slowly walking around the property and taking in all of the trees and birds. The large lake is also fully stocked with different types of friendly fish to watch. There were four different pools (one being adult only). An indoor spa with a Turkish bath, Roman bath, salt water Jacuzzi, and a Sauna. I was able to book in for a hair trim and blowdry, and both my husband and I got facials too. The actual beach is just a short walk around the lake on property, over a bridge outside, and you're there! Very convenient. And a quieter stretch of beach opposed to the main strips. Although this was a relaxing time away for us, we still had to work. Excellent wifi & desk. :)

My partner and I had a wonderful babymoon here, the Guest Relations team were fantastic and really thoughtful! We were welcomed with wine, champagne, chocolates, macarons and balloons and felt truly celebrated. The facilities are wonderful, really relaxing by the pool and the hotel was just a few steps away from the beautiful Praia de Falesia beachfront. The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious and everyday we tried different foods! We have left feeling well fed (definitely gained more than just pregnancy pounds) and very relaxed!!

Overall we were relatively happy with our stay, but at £820 a night (for the Sapphire Family Retreat) I expected so much more. The listing on Expedia & hotel’s website do not indicate that the family retreat is essentially two hotel rooms with interconnecting doors - not sure these interconnecting doors are worth paying more for. We had a member of staff confess this is a complaint the hotel has heard before. During our stay, we celebrated my mum’s 70th birthday. We mentioned this in the notes when we made the reservation, and reception confirmed they were aware of this at check-in and that they would organise a nice surprise for her. On the day of her birthday, it got to 6.30pm before I decided to go down and speak to guest relations (GR) about where her ‘surprise’ was, as we hadn’t planned a cake (given the hotel said they would provide this). GR apologised for the delay and said there was an event happening that evening at one of the restaurants that everyone had been focused on. When the cake did arrive, it was a standard chocolate cake - no writing on the plate etc. Very underwhelming. My brother asked GR if there was anything they could do to help him plan his proposal. One of the GR women told him he was “giving her a headache” which I thought was quite rude. Food selection at breakfast and dinner was great, but food itself was super bland. Haute Living lounge snacks were the same. Rooms were lovely, as were the pools & lake.

Warm welcome on arrival. As we arrived early, room wasn’t ready so left our luggage to gain our bearings. However, rooms still weren’t ready until 3:30pm (late) and a couple of issues (broken toilet seat and air con). Nevertheless, we got an upgraded room. Hotel is well placed on marina although most of the lively restaurants and bars are on the opposite side of the marina which is a bit of a walk. Very good breakfast and lovely staff. Easy parking if hiring a car. Spa water was pretty cold and a little inconvenient having to book access although probably needed in peak season. Overall, recommended for a quiet break in Algarve.

Great stay. Issue with our room which was dealt with professionally and quickly by the team. Moved to another room which was great. All of the staff at the hotel were excellent. Always cheerful and incredibly helpful. Big shout out to Mona who looked after us at breakfast for three days. He was excellent.

We have been going to Vilamoura for years & stayed in some lovely hotels but since staying at the Domes Lakes we look no further.Its a great location near to the marina.The staff are wonderful & always on hand to make sure eveything is perfect.The rooms & the food is of a high standard with so much variety.The outside area is beautiful so many different areas to relax in or have a nice walk round the lake.Thank you once again for our wonderful stay & cant wait to return next year.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location close to the marina but effortlessly peaceful. The grounds are expansive and well kept rather than being over-developed. The decor of the hotel is beautiful and it is clear the staff all take pride in working here; everyone is very friendly and helpful. The food was great with an extensive choice and the cocktails reasonably priced- I’d recommend a mojito! Overall this is one of the best hotel experiences I have had, we shall certainly be returning.

Hotel was nice but area it’s located in is run down and full of stag and hen dos, for €350 a night you expect a little more and the hotel is stupidly expensive, paid nearly €100 for two burgers with fries, essentially poorly squeezed together mince meat on a stale bun. I’d avoid and look at their Crete hotels.

This is a beautiful property that was ideal for my family (2 yr old boy). From being met by the porters to personally escorted to breakfast by the receptionist, this hotel excels in looking after its guests. We loved the heated outdoor pool and the crèche that we availed of several times. The only downside was the price of the drinks. €8 for a glass of wine should not be the cheapest option especially as it’s local wine. We would have spent more time in the hotel bar but the drinks were just too expensive. We also heard this complaint from several other people. It’s a shame as it’s enough to make us try a different property next time.

We had a fantastic stay at The Domes Lake. We could not fault a thing. From arriving with the car and the full valet service, to the check out with one of their many friendly staff at reception. The hotel was incredibly clean and well maintained. The outdoor areas, including the three outside pools, were all well kept. The food was also fantastic. There was so much choice at breakfast, and the dinner at Topos was one of the best we’ve ever had - special shoutout to the pork dish with chimichurri, best chimichurri I’ve ever had. Honestly, I could write an essay about great this hotel is. Everything was perfect and we wound happily return and recommend highly.

Väldigt fin anläggning i direkt närhet till marinan med restauranger och affärer. Hotellet har ett fint område för bad och rekreation. Riklig frukostbuffé med mycket gott. Sköna stora sängar. Enda negativa vi hade var en riktigt dålig biff på deras restaurang men det var kanske en engångsföreteelse.

Mum, 2 children. Amazing location for marina, I felt safe. Hotel was great, pools lovely. Bed was big with fold out bed. Wet really enjoyed Breakfast. Pool bar and bar were expensive but as you would expect. Spa was bit dated but passed an hour and fun that the kids can go at certain times. Staff were amazing!! Possibly the friendliest hotel I have stayed, all the other guests were really friendly too, nice atmosphere. Always found a sunbed but was pretty busy, staff really good at helping with this without even asking.
Mum, 2 children. Amazing location for marina, I felt safe. Hotel was great, pools lovely. Bed was big with fold out bed. Wet really enjoyed Breakfast. Pool bar and bar were expensive but as you would expect. Spa was bit dated but passed an hour and fun that the kids can go at certain times. Staff were amazing!! Possibly the friendliest hotel I have stayed, all the other guests were really friendly too, nice atmosphere. Always found a sunbed but was pretty busy, staff really good at helping with this without even asking.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Domes Lake. The hotel is lovely and fresh, and the staff are extremely friendly and solution-oriented. A special bonus was all the little touches—such as welcome and departure gifts, the availability of bicycles, various activities, and other services—that made the stay feel truly special. All at a reasonable price. It was great having an adults-only area, a pool with a sandy beach, the lake with its wildlife, and close proximity to the marina and the beach. I would love to come back!
