On arrival I went into the reception/ dining/bar area and it had a smell of damp or musty . I was then advised that I had to pay £5 to park my car overnight in the car park even though I was staying at the hotel. The room was ok but only had 2 pillows none spare in the cupboard . I tried to run a bath but the tap was fixed to have shower only and there was no phone in the room to contact reception regarding these issues . I’ve stayed in this hotel lots of times over 10 years but was very disappointed this time

Although the room and en-suite looked a bit tired and could do with a refurbishment but it was kept clean and bright. The staff are very polite and friendly. There is a separate charge for parking in their car park.

A clean, decent, cheap option for a drop into Cardiff. Good public transport connection. One downside is parking is on a very steep land and has just turned into a pay to park/anpr job.

We had no complaints whatever. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. The beds were really comfy with nice cotton bed linens. The bathroom was very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. Excellent value for money and we will certainly recommend.

We booked 2 rooms, the first was ready when we arrived a little early for check & having explained we would be back late that evening I was told they would leave some notes and our 2nd room key would be ready. Unfortunately that wasn't what happended when we returned and a wait of almost 30 minutes ensued until the room key was provided. The rooms were very clean but he mattresses were very poor and only 1 pillow per person was not good. It is also worth noting the hotel is a steep incline accessed via a trading estate. We were given free coffee on checkout as recompense for the check in th night before as the delays were due to a new member of staff, unfortunately the coffee was as unimpressive as the mattresses. Overall this hotel is reasonable value for money but needs an overhaul to bring it up to modern standards and skimping on things like pillows does nothing to help.

Very run down motel. I’d struggle to give it a one star. The room was very dated with heavily stained carpets Bed was uncomfortable with stained pillows and quilt. Also the quilt smelt of urine. Bathroom floor tiles cracked and a foul smell coming from the toilet. Front doors didn’t seem safe. I would not recommend anyone stay at this motel.

Not worth the amount we paid. We stayed one night as it was convenient, but the experience was far from comfortable. The property is in serious need of a facelift, and the lack of air-conditioning made the room extremely stuffy. The bed was terrible — we could feel every spring in the mattress, making it the worst we’ve ever slept on. There was no comfort in the room at all. The only positive was the check-in process: it was smooth, and the staff member was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again.

It was totally crap wouldnt go back again the bath taps was leaking the sink had a big crack in it and a shelf was silicone in a big hole it was so hot at night wh2n you opened the window everyone could look in the bed was thatvclose tonthe wall i fwlt like i was in prison trying to get out ro go toilet i kept spilling drink the toilet also was crap didnt flush and trunking hmaging off when we dirst got their i wouldnt recomend going here at all the only good thing about it as the staff they was amazing

We were only staying one night on a short visit to Cardiff. The hotel was easily accessed from the motorway. It reminded us of American-style motels with the rooms all having external access, although each room had a small lobby to prevent the Welsh rain entering the bedroom. After a quick friendly checkin we found a clean room with the basics we needed for the night. We were allowed to check in early although were warned that the water in the room would be unavailable until later owing to plumbing work. Our only concern was that the mattresses were not the most comfortable, but perhaps that is a matter of personal preference.

Staff lovely - rooms ok in themselves but walls so thin you could hear everything and very basic - downstairs was lovely - rooms not. Staff lovely. Also security of the doors was a worry over night. Probably fine but could not relax to sleep. Also local youths not great, son got heckled in the local area outside the hotel.

Friendly staff at the check in. The main hotel building and reception looks presentable. The room was great value and exactly what I needed to have a night’s sleep after an event. The bed was comfortable, bedding clean. There were tea making facilities. The room was very basic and dated, with cold lighting - it was not very inviting. However focussing on the value, it was great for the price paid.

Exalent, our 2 rooms where spotless, beds where VERY comfertable, and All the staff where very freindly, and helpfull, plus a very convenient location, also there is a pub, and 2 supermarkets next door, great value for money....Highly recomended!!!

The rooms were well maintained and clean. Entire hotel needs a little TLC in terms of painting and decorating. The staff were very nice and the positioning of the hotel allows for easy access to the city centre by bus, 58 or 57 and tbere is a good pub nearby for food and drinks. Good value for money all round.

Exalent, our 2 rooms where spotless, beds where VERY comfertable, and All the staff where very freindly, and helpfull, plus a very convenient location, also there is a pub, and 2 supermarkets next door, great value for money....Highly recomended!!!

We didn’t have breakfast so scored a half way mark as we were not able to skip it in this review. It’s an old Campanile hotel now run by a small group so I support them all the way. It’s handy as the brown road signs are still there directing from the motorway. Still looks outdated but it’s being upgraded. Lidl a short walk away for groceries. It’s on a steep hill so watch out if it’s wet or icy. Could do with two pillows but a bath towel came in handy. TV wasn’t much good with reception and selection of channels.

We were only staying one night on a short visit to Cardiff. The hotel was easily accessed from the motorway. It reminded us of American-style motels with the rooms all having external access, although each room had a small lobby to prevent the Welsh rain entering the bedroom. After a quick friendly checkin we found a clean room with the basics we needed for the night. We were allowed to check in early although were warned that the water in the room would be unavailable until later owing to plumbing work. Our only concern was that the mattresses were not the most comfortable, but perhaps that is a matter of personal preference.

A clean, decent, cheap option for a drop into Cardiff. Good public transport connection. One downside is parking is on a very steep land and has just turned into a pay to park/anpr job.

If you go with reasonable expectations, you won’t be disappointed. From the price, it is clearly a budget option in this area and those coming expecting a 5 star experience/ a romantic stay should be realistic and reach further into their pockets. I got a little lost on the way here, but it is conveniently located close to shops (very near a Lidl and Waitrose). The reception staff were very friendly, giving a warm welcome and great service. My room was clean and tidy, had plenty of desk space and plugs and fit all my needs for a brief overnight stay before an interview in Cardiff. As a little tip, I’d suggest bringing a teaspoon with you (I travel with one anyway) , as there were only wooden stirrers provided. It was reminiscent of PGL accommodation (without the sharing), which I found quite nostalgic - no frills, but comfy, quiet and functional.I can’t comment on breakfast, as I didn’t eat here. Overall, good value for money

The staff were very friendly, the rooms are basic, clean but that was expected with the price. A lack of bar and restaurant was disappointing.

Purtroppo le foto sul sito non mostrano la struttura come è in realtà . Necessita di una forte manutenzione nei colori esterni e in tutto quello che riguarda porte e finestre. Siamo stati sfortunati anche nella posizione della nostra camera direttamente sulla strada che ci impediva di aprire le finestre, dato il forte caldo.LA STRUTTURA NON DISPONE DI ARIA CONDIZIONATA né di Ventola al soffitto. Dalla reception , personale molto cortese , ci è stato fornito un micro ventilatore ad aria nemmeno troppo funzionante. La camera nonostante fosse molto datata, risultava pulita (lenzuola asciugamani, bagno) fatta eccezione della moquette che mal odorava. Ultima cosa, non per importanza, suggerirei di scrivere sul sito Motel non Hotel .

Upon first impressions the place looked quite shabby from the outside. Went into Reception and the Staff were very helpful and welcoming. We were given our key pass and wasn’t sure what our room would be like. I was very pleasantly surprised as it was very clean. I had a great nights sleep as the bed was really comfortable. I would stay here again. Ok it’s not a top end hotel but for the price you pay it’s very reasonable and the Staff are a true asset.

We stayed for a concert at Cardiff castle. It is farther than I thought from venue. But the hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. We only stayed for the 1 night but served the purpose if our trip.
