Not impressed with the upkeep of the hotel or the communication with the manager. I informed the staff at check-in that my 2 small dogs would be in the room while I was at work and I have never had a problem with this before, and I put a "do not disturb" sign on the door when I am away. My first reservation was for one day and the second reservation was for 3 days, this was 4 consecutive days. On the second day, which was the start of the second reservation, the housekeeping staff came into the room, even with the "do not disturb" sign on the door. Thankfully, my dogs were ok and didn't leave, but this should not have happened. Then on a Sunday there was no hot water in the shower. Also, the hot tub was out of order, even though it was advertised it was available. Then I had to purchase an extension cord to work at the computer desk because the outlet quit working. The hotel charged $20 pet fee per day, though no extra service was given during my stay. Overall, the rate was $145/day which was excessive for the condition and amenities. They did have a good breakfast, but I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is older, but in good condition and clean. The staff were helpful. I would probably have stayed again, but the day I left, my credit card was hacked. I was in Ladysmith for a few days before I checked out and had no issues when I used the credit card at other places, but the day I checked out, I was hacked and had to get a new card. Since I've not stayed there before and have not had this happen before, I may consider it a coincidence.
