Hotel is ok room was spacious and comfortable. Whole place needs an overhaul and deep cleaning. Pool was a little cloudy. All the garbages were full all the time. Breakfast was fair at best highway noise was loud. Thank gawd we were only here for 16 hrs.

We found toe nail clippings in our room floor the first 5 minutes in the room. Bathroom had someone elses hair in the shower. Smelt musty. Pool was nice and cool but the area around the pool was filthy. What was remodled looked nice.

Some amenities like a Coke machine on our floor were no longer available and the one they did have on the 1st floor was out of order. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly!

Staff was friendly and the breakfast was okay, but our room was disgusting. The bathroom had hair in many places, something gross on the light switch, and a black ring around the tub. We had a pillow with blood on the pillow itself and the pillowcase that was in our room upon arrival. The throw pillows had questionable marks on them. The room was very dusty, the fridge knob to adjust the temperature was broken and the carpet was very wet, which I discovered right after entering the room. I was very disappointed with the state of our room.

Sheets were dirty with crumbs and hair and when asked to make a new bed the staff was rude. Fire alarm also went off at around 9pm when we were about to sleep after a long day and staff was very unserious and didn’t know what the cause was or didn’t explain anything to us. After the fire department came and turned off the alarm, the front desk didn’t even say anything to us and was not sympathetic about the issue. The view was nice and overlooking the mountains but that was about the only good thing. Will not be coming back.

Upon entering there were quite a few stains on the carpet and the air freshener smell was overwhelming. The property is outdated, which isn’t necessarily the issue, but it does seem as if more care could be taken to keep things clean. Our bedroom had very dusty areas, the notebook/pen container hadn’t been cleaned and had a dirty notebook with greasy food fingerprints. The bathroom had someone’s hair on the floor and in the shower and I had to wipe something out of the sink. The elevator had a burning plastic smell that was a bit alarming.

I rented 2 non-smoking rooms; one room was fine and the other one smelled like cigarette smoke; to include the bed. Our feet feet/socks were dirty from walking on the floor in both rooms. Breakfast was just alright.

Room was dirty: dust covered surfaces, urine on toilet seat, staining on sheets, cigarette ash on floor. Booked a non-smoking room; however smelled of cigarette smoke. Unable to address concerns at checkout as front desk was unattended. Would not stay again.

I stayed there a couple of time and was fine. But this time the bed sheets were stained, found a toe nail on the sheet and a tooth pick in the towel! The bathtub was dirty, dead bugs on the tiles so I think it is the last time for my staying at this hotel!

Breakfast was good, bed was very comfortable. Room had old, dried stuff on the walls. Needs a deep clean and/or paint. The toilet paper holder and tissue holder were rusty and gross. The carpet didn’t even seem vacuumed when we got there.

The room at this hotel with an amazing hilltop view was clean, albeit weathered and in need of a facelift. The room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. The front-desk staff was friendly and courteous. The included breakfast was a treat, although devoid of fresh fruit. Overall, this was a great stay for a very reasonable price.

Room 110 was extremely noisy with obnoxious outside noise because of the door from the hallway leading to the outside. Woken up at 5am every morning because of people slamming the door outside of our door! Completely obnoxious!! Our room being on the bottom floor did not have a safe lock to the outside from our outside bottom floor door. It would have been easily broken into. Overall, not great but I've stayed in worse.

We have stayed here for many parent weekends at a nearby school, and always found it to be fine. This time, I booked on Hotels.com for a price of $366 total after taxes and fees, ($159 a night for 2 nights with 3 people). When I checked out, by bill was $564. I thought the bill seemed high, so when I got in the car, I opened up my reservation to find that indeed, my email from Hotels.com said $159 a night. I went back in to get the right receipt and make sure I was not overpaying. The person at the desk said he would pass it to the manager. I shared that this has happened in the past and I was never able to resolve it, so I was hesitant to leave until resolved. He said he could not do anything, and gave me his name and number to call that night--that it would be resolved. I called and was told he gave the information to the manager and it would be settled. I asked for a call back from the manager, but shocking...no call and it still has not been settled. I would let a few dollars go, but this is literally a $200 difference. I would think that Hotels.com would want to settle it or the hotel would. They have lost my business, and I would warn you to ask for the receipt before you step foot into your room. Or find a better hotel.

Comfortable and quiet. Great staff who went the extra mile when I left an item behind. The manager made certain it was kept safe and secure even though it was an over a month before I could return to pick it up.

These guys not only gave away keys to my room once, they did it twice. Additionally, they gave me absolute hell over my service animal, on memorial day. I don't know if you've ever had someone open the door to your hotel room unannounced before, but it sure as hell wasn't OK with me. The second time... Pure incompetence.

My daughter and I drove 2000+ miles in 5 days. We arrived in Lexington at 12:30 am after wing in the car for 12 hours. We were told our reservation was cancelled because my card was declined. I know this is a lie 1) because I used that same card for the other 4 hotels we stayed at and every meal we ate without an issue 2) my cc company would’ve notified me. So no call, no email, no text. They just cancelled my room and we had to find a new place to stay at 1 am.

I am a long time customer and have always enjoyed staying at HoJo. This past time however, the staff was very rude. The woman in the morning before I checked out was nasty when I asked her a question. I do really like HoJos, but they could improve by better training their staff and hiring individuals that are more upbeat.

HJ was great Ben checked me in and he was amazing, sweet and kind. Great feeling after such a long drive. Only thing I wish was to see some eggs and bacon at the free continental breakfast. Other than that, great place to stay.

Room was nice, bathroom needs work. HORRIBLE BREAKFAST. do not plan to eat breakfast here. All the had was bagels, bread, oatmeal, cereal and yogurt. No meat, no eggs, watered down OJ and apple juice. A lady from housekeeping walked into my room without notice while I was naked just got out of the shower. Really ruined the experience and comfort level because I never knew when someone was just gonna walk in. Beds arent the best but it was managable. Towels had stains on them.

Close to highways and Walmart nearby. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Clean big room. Recommend

We stayed here overnight, and it was very comfortable. We appreciated the dog-friendly room on the first floor with the sliding patio door so we could easily walk the dogs. The view from this hotel is amazing. Nice view of the mountains. The only drawback was finding food. There are hardly any restaurants in the area. Despite in-room advertisements for KFC and Dominoes, both restaurants were closed. And of course the old Howard Johnson's restaurant onsite was long closed... it would have been nice to have a restaurant right there. So we ate road snacks for dinner and looked forward to free breakfast in the morning. The waffles were the bright spot in an otherwise so-so breakfast. If you are staying here, have a backup plan for food. But otherwise, a very comfortable stay. Staff is friendly.

The hotel itself was nice. However, it is somewhat remote. There are no restaurants nearby and any shopping requires a few minutes of driving. The price was reasonable and the view from high on a hill is very nice. The staff that I encountered were cordial, but less than helpful. I requested a receipt when I checked in and was told I could get it in the morning upon checking out. In the morning, I was leaving early (4:30) and the staff on duty then said I would have to wait until 6:00. So, no receipt! My overall evaluation places this property as mediocre.

We were disappointed with the breakfast. Not enough hot foods, like eggs, sausage, biscuits, etc. The vending machine did not work. It was kinda loud, smelled like smoke at times and could smell weed. We did like the balcony, very nice. The room was neat and clean. We only had a one night stay so it was fine for the night.

The property is older and shows its age. Towels aren’t delivered to the room you’ll need to pick them up yourself. The staff is friendly, but they are limited, which you can notice in small details like trash collecting near one of the entrances and build-up on the glass patio doors in the room, the floors are vinyl and that is definitely a plus for cleanliness. Breakfast is simple and mostly carb-heavy: toast, cereal, waffles, bagels, and some yogurt. Overall, it’s nothing fancy, but for the price, it’s fair.

I needed a stay for the night and this place filled the bill. Check-in was easy as I used one of those discount sites for a good price. They had a breakfast of waffles and eggs along the stuff to make a continental breakfast. good stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection. Coffee was good. But what made it perfect for me was the view. I believe all the rooms had a balcony. There were also benches set out to look at the rolling hills, watch the sunset or lightning for us. An outdoor pool and playground for the kids. At 8am a staff member was in the parking lot sweeping up.
