The location of the hotel was great, close proximity to the beach and the Bistro Maxine restaurant was absolutely delicious that was definitely a highlight. However, the room experience was disappointing. The first room we were assigned couldn’t be opened with the key, so we had to change rooms. And that took about 40 minutes wasted Unfortunately, the second room had visible mold, water issues in the bathroom, and the doors were difficult to open but at least the key worked. On a positive note, the happy hour was a major plus and a nice touch to the stay. I hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences. Didn’t have chance to access the pool as the lobby was in Catalina hotel, we were staying at Maxine’s which it had a pool but it was closed. And the rooftop pool was at the other hotel next to Catalina I didn’t have time to explore it. Also I wish the bathroom had a door as it was the wrong floor for a shower and the whole time a puddle of water stayed accumulated on the shower area and restroom.

The staff at this hotel were all excellent. Very friendly and informative. The roof terrace pool area is nice and not too busy. The bars and restaurants at the hotel serve very good food and drinks. It’s expensive but it’s Miami. We upgraded to a superior king and I’m glad I did. Other rooms must be quite small. Flooring and carpet are looking old and worn but is otherwise clean. The hotel does not allow you to leave luggage under any circumstances. So if you have a late flight you will have to take your cases with you. For the price I paid I would say it was good value. Don’t expect anything other than basic but with friendly staff

The room was okay, nothing fancy but decent for the price. The big downside – there were only two towels provided, which isn’t really enough. Also, there’s a bar or restaurant right under the window with a live DJ, so don’t expect to fall asleep before 1 a.m. because of the loud music. On the bright side, the location is great – just a short walk to the beach and right in the heart of South Beach. If you’re coming to party, it might work for you. If you’re coming to sleep… maybe look elsewhere

Great location, friendly and helpful bilingual staff. Everything was great for the price of the stay. Only thing was valet was very unprofessional. Aware that is 3rd party company but took long time to get car when it didn’t look like there was anyone else waiting and attendant always talking on phone. Took about 2 minutes, to receive acknowledgement when approached the drive. But everything else was fine, this was my second time here and will be back again.

The stay was ok. It definitely needs some upgrades like door to our was not closing you have to slam the door to get it locked. Also I don’t like that hotel is not holding luggage if you arrive early instead you have to bring it with you until your room is ready.

This place is a dump, staff is apathetic. Of the 8 days I stayed here, they only cleaned my room four times. My hallway was being painted while I was here forcing me to navigate my way past painters on ladders who talked and played music. The carpets (yes carpets) on the hallway floors were disgusting and they refused to vacuum them after several requests. There was toothpaste stuck on the tiles in the bathroom, sand on the floor, the sheets were scratchy, the place was loud and I even had people smoking like chimneys in the room next to me one night that seeped into my room and kept me up coughing. The manager's attempt to make amends was to give me a cheap bottle of champagne. This place sucks, it's ghetto and a dump. I cannot say enough bad things about it.

Decided to take my wife on a weekend getaway to South beach. Looked up hotels on Hotels.com where we found the Catalina. The location was perfect and the pics looked very nice. However, I made one mistake. I did not look at the reviews. We were put in a room away from the main hotel over a restaurant called Maxine’s. We actually had to walk through the middle of the restaurant to get to the elevator leading up to the rooms. Once we stepped off the elevator we knew this was not the place we had seen pictures of on the website. The carpet in the hallway was filthy the musty smell hit you in the face. All you could hear was hammers and saws due to construction in progress on our floor. (The construction noise began early in the morning and lasted well into the night). It was very annoying at times and you could forget about trying to sleep in late. We had just got in our room and was changing clothes from our trip when one of the hotel workers came barging into our room without knocking or saying a word to look at the liquor bar refrigerator. He then walked back out never looking at us. We were dismayed to say the least. We decided to turned on the TV which was a waste of time. It would come on for 20 seconds and then buffer for 30 seconds over and over. This continued the whole weekend. When we went to call the front desk to report it, we found out there was no phone in the room. Do not stay at this hotel unless you have a room in the main hotel.

My room smelled so bad like mold/mildew and felt so humid. My bed sheets felt wet but were completely dry. Never got clean towels or linen. Complained and tried to get a new room and said they didn’t have any available. Worst experience ever. Parking was horrible too.

Horrible hotel to stay at first don’t even know where to start! Upon arriving at the hotel there is no complementary beverages and food as said in the welcome letter! Asked front desk where is it he said they do not do it anymore after Covid??? Hotel also had a weird smell in it when opening the door at the lobby like mold. Going into the small dark elevator that probably should not even be running has expired inspection paper and was very loud and creaky definitely scary and dangerous for people to be in it. Pictures are attached below for proof. Entering the room lock fell off the door and could not even get in this made a great impression before even entering the room. Once maintenance came up 30 mins later as I was still waiting outside the room door he Mickey Moused the lock and definitely still was loose. Where is the security with having piece of mind if locking your door??? Next getting into the room now sheets had like blood stains on them musty smell and looked like the floor had not even been cleaned! I was second guessing if the room was even cleaned properly after old customers left and we went in. Walking into the bathroom no towels no trash bag in the small mini trash that was the size of a coffee cup. Went outside the door to ask housekeeping if they could give me some she didn’t speak English at all and kept saying “si” so no towels ever got to the room until I had to call the front desk and complain again kind you less than 30 mins. I can’t add more no space

The room was extremely dirty, the bathroom has a lot of mold, it seems like it has been a long time since the room was cleaned. Hair from other hurts in the shower, dust and hair on the floor of the room, only 2 bath towels, there was no rug in the bathroom for after showering. Sad that the birthday surprise for my wife left us so unsatisfied.

The water pressure in my room was so low i barely even got a shower. The water wasn’t hot. I could hear through the walls of other guests conversations. And there was no closet or dresser to unpack.

For starters when you walk into the room, there’s barely anything aesthetically pleasing about it. The curtain shades were broken and missing a few rows to completely block out the sunlight. The WiFi does not work even if you speak with the front desk there’s nothing they can do so aside from no WiFi, I couldn’t even use the tv to play music or watch a movie. Then walking into the bathroom there was a piece of flooring that just felt like you were gonna jab your toes cause every step you take on top of it, meant that the floor was sinking. Finally to top it off, most if not all, doors slam. The walls also must be extremely thin because I could hear the people next to me screaming and speaking loudly in the night time and morning! Overall not a great experience.

The hotel was a great location, clean and comfortable, but on the last day the AC from the room broke we asked for assistance and they said that they could not help us or give us a new room. It was so difficult to sleep when the temperature was 80 degree. In addition to this if you are in a hurry, do not use the valet Parking, it takes 30 m to 45 m for them to get your car.

There was no hot water. We showered in the morning, evening and night. Still no hot water. Most outlets did not work otherwise the location and staff was wonderful. I also like all the interaction events held by the hotel. Pool was dirty but the beach was right there so who cares.

Well for one I gave a good review on Google but I’m going to edit and update the review. This was not a great experience. My room was 78 degrees on the first day. I had to request for the AC to be fixed. Secondly Tuesday I checked in and went out later and came back my Key card was deactivated. Well it was reset and it deactivated daily. The front desk was in another building and this went on nightly. After the 2nd day I was told they were updating the lock systems and I told them it seems as if I’m the only person w this problem. In short this went on my entire stay! This was terrible and inconvenient especially having to go to another building for the front desk! Well I’ve emailed the manager and reservations and I’m hoping to get compensation for something! Please do not stay here if I can show pictures of the open ceiling in the bathroom and the AC thermostat.

I was put in a room initially where there is as a no ceiling tiles in the bathroom and the ac was broken. then I was moved into another room where the ac worked fine but the toilet was being remodeled. it wasn't even installed. Then I was out in a third room where to ac did not work and the fourth room I was out on was a much smaller room that I paid for the ac didn't work in there either. The fourth room had a window ac unit and it kept shorting out. I was at the hotel for less than 2 hours, put in 4 rooms, before I went to grab my car and pack my stuff inside and decided to drive home. I paid for a hotel room and you were unable to provide me with one.

We booked this room through Expedia very quickly because I had to be on a cruise ship on Monday morning . We checked in Saturday late at night after 10pm, for some reason our door did not lock. We needed the front desk receptionist to escort us every time we wanted to leave the room. What upsets me The most is that they told us that it would be fixed Sunday morning. But when we woke up Sunday and went to the front desk, the new shift said that it was not getting fixed and did not offer us a new room or anything to make up for this inconvenience. The staff didn’t even care. So we had to continue to ask the front to let us in which was the biggest inconvenience since we were barely in Miami 48 hours. We tried to make the best of our time but the bsck and forth was truly annoying and honestly unsecure.

The staff consistently went above and beyond for our family - they were always ready with a smile, extra towels and even a little champagne. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but the location was perfect for the beach, and it was a great value! Pedro, Jefferson and the front desk crew were amazing!

I booked this hotel last minute to attend Art Basel. Although there was a wait to check-in, it was expected because of the art festival. I've stayed at other hotels on South Beach during Miami Art Week / Art Basel, but this hotel overdelivered. Here is why: 1. Front desk staff are welcoming, attentive, and helpful. They always greeted me when I entered the lobby. Extra points to Kathy, Norman, Noah and Jhostyn for accommodating my late night requests. 2. As I waited to check-in, Rodrigo offered me complimentary champagne, I drank a few glasses. I had a business colleague visit me during my stay, and he offered her some bubbly as well. Very thoughtful. 3. Once I checked in, I headed to my room. A very friendly maid, guided me to my room and helped me with my luggage. 4. Hotel has 2 to 3 staff members at the front desk 24/7. Great location, friendly and helpful bilingual staff. Everything was great for the price of the stay. Only thing was valet was very unprofessional. Aware that is 3rd party company but took long time to get car when it didn’t look like there was anyone else waiting and attendant always talking on phone. Took about 2 minutes, to receive acknowledgement when approached the drive. But everything else was fine, this was my second time here and will be back again.

I want to say a special Thanks to the Hotel front desk and Janet. The room stewart was awesome. We ask for fresh towels, matter of seconds, she knock on the door and gave us the towels. The front desk took care a problem with the shower head and phone. They took care of the problem so fast. My wife and I step out of the room for 20 minutes and they fix the problem. I will look forward to stay there again for the great service provided. Thank you Catalina!!

I checked in at 2pm and left by 4:30. I tried to talk to the front desk and staff about my room but no one answered the phone and when I went down there they kept asking me to wait a minute. Finally I packed my bag and left. They would not offer a refund and told me I had to send a email for it to be reviewed to see if I’m eligible.

The room was okay, nothing fancy but decent for the price. The big downside – there were only two towels provided, which isn’t really enough. Also, there’s a bar or restaurant right under the window with a live DJ, so don’t expect to fall asleep before 1 a.m. because of the loud music. On the bright side, the location is great – just a short walk to the beach and right in the heart of South Beach. If you’re coming to party, it might work for you. If you’re coming to sleep… maybe look elsewhere

The location of the hotel was great, close proximity to the beach and the Bistro Maxine restaurant was absolutely delicious that was definitely a highlight. However, the room experience was disappointing. The first room we were assigned couldn’t be opened with the key, so we had to change rooms. And that took about 40 minutes wasted Unfortunately, the second room had visible mold, water issues in the bathroom, and the doors were difficult to open but at least the key worked. On a positive note, the happy hour was a major plus and a nice touch to the stay. I hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences. Didn’t have chance to access the pool as the lobby was in Catalina hotel, we were staying at Maxine’s which it had a pool but it was closed. And the rooftop pool was at the other hotel next to Catalina I didn’t have time to explore it. Also I wish the bathroom had a door as it was the wrong floor for a shower and the whole time a puddle of water stayed accumulated on the shower area and restroom.

We like it because the restaurants are convenient, they have happy hours for an hour, service is very good, there was nice enough to hold our luggage when we checkout and walking distance on everything. The things we didn't like is the room is outdated, no coffee, there was a yellow stain on the bed, there was no cable.

It’s a decent property when you are on a budget. It doesn’t have an all the amenities of most of the hotels but if you are looking for inexpensive, clean, and accessible this is your place. They have a free happy hour from 5-6pm at one of the hotel bars. There’s a nice secluded pool in the back of one of the properties and a rooftop pool on another. Biggest complaint, $5 for a cup of coffee and no refills! Lol

While the quality of the food was great, the attentiveness of the staff was severely lacking. Our waiter didn't check on us at breakfast and I had to wave him down to get his attention even though it wasn't busy. We ordered a Maxies burger for dinner and it wasn't as described on the menu. While it had the bacon and cheese, it was missing the carmalized onions, Maxie sauce, and the pickles. Instead we got tomato that wasn't even on the menu. Also, only order pizza if you REALLY like cheese because that's mostly what you'll get.

I stayed from monday to friday and they clean the rooms once every 3 days which i found not acceptable. My room was outdated. The worse part is that there are no chairs in the room. If you want to sit you have to sit on the bed. Ok for the price. No safe or phone.

I would not recommend this Hotel as the room we received had a portable AC With the exhaust tube sealed around with Cardboard and very noisy!!! The floors were all cracked and not clean. We asked for housekeeping and they did not come some days and they did not clean the room completely,, not even basic sweeping. The TV was not working properly. Maintenance even said it needed to be replaced. We were there 7 days . They gave us another room on the 4th day,,, that room had a slow clogged shower drain and not clean. Would not recommend!!
