I just needed a cheap place to sleep to attend a convention nearby. I was not on vacation. I was surprised to be charged a “resort fee” at check-in. When I asked what was included, they told me wi-fi (!!!) and swimming pool. I looked for the swimming pool and there was none. When I went back to ask where it was, they told me it was at another location 9 blocks away (1732 Collins Ave). When I told the front desk that I was not happy with this fee, he told me that it was disclosed when I booked it, and I should complain with the agent that I used (hotels.com). I went back to the app and could not find any mention of this resort fee. I will be asking for a refund from hotels.com or will dispute my credit card charge. My other complaints are: . Musty or moldy smell in the room . Leaking water in the shower . Cracked tiles in the shower . Cheap, thin towels (with a resort fee, there should be resort-quality towels) . A/C pipes banging in the middle of the night . Rowdy guests yelling in the courtyard (only happened one night) . Staff not friendly (grumpy attitude)
