The Blackberry River Inn is a charming B & B about 45 minutes from Tanglewood. The main building, built in 1763, is beautifully decorated with an inviting dining room that offers a full cooked to order breakfast which is included in the room charge. The grounds are lovely, with a built-in swimming pool and several areas to just sit and relax on the property. Lucas and his staff do a wonderful job to make sure everyone feels welcome and to attend to any questions or needs you may have. The dining room staff for breakfast was also amazing. We stayed in the Carriage house consisting of about 6-8 rooms, with a common area with sofa, chairs, TV, refrigerator and microwave for common use. It’s a bit of a drive to get to some of the area attractions, but a lovely drive. We enjoyed our stay at Blackberry River Inn, the historic and charming feel, and found it a reasonable alternative to the pricey accommodations closer to Lenox. We will stay there again!

The property is excellent. It is near a cow farm and the smell of the cows' manure is overpowering at times . Not in the Inn, but outdoors.

The Inn is on a lovely piece of property with trees, grass, flowers. The bathroom was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and there was a common area "living room" that had a fridge for guests to place things and a microwave. The pool is fabulous (though it could use some more chaise lounges, there were only 2). The breakfast was truly delicious, made to order every morning. Home made chocolate chip cookies are out for the taking and there are dvds to borrow if you want to watch t.v. There is no cable or roku, so if that is important to you, you may want to bring a laptop as there is internet and you can stream your own. Campbell Falls is very very close and stunning. There is also a good winery down the street which had some lovely wines. Overall, this was a perfect getaway.

A beautiful old Inn that has been well looked after. Breakfast was in a beautiful room and the food and service were both excellent. We also appreciated the complimentary cookies and chocolates in the foyer along with the tea and coffee facilities. The not so good points were the strong smell outside from the piggery (?) which thankfully couldn't be smelled from inside the building. Also the walls are paper thin so we were kept up by our neighbours who turned up late and had their TV going. The toilet paper is incredibly thin and what you might expect from a much cheaper place.

The staff were great, very friendly and very accommodating. The inn was beautiful, very clean, and they had cookies, snacks and coffee in the main sitting room 24/7. When I say sitting room, that’s exactly what it was, from the outside you would never know what a gem this place really is. The breakfast was awesome, starting every morning with a bowl of fresh fruit, to waffles, pancakes, eggs and more, cooked however you like, plus you’re not limited to only ordering one thing from the menu, and it’s all included in your stay. I would recommend the Blackberry River Inn to anyone looking for a nice, cozy quiet place to stay.

This place was a mixed bag. The main house was nicely decorated, with coffee, tea, cookies and cake available at all times. Breakfast was outstanding, and Joe was so gracious and amazing. Our room, however, was less than satisfactory. The room was cold, with no apparent means for heat. There was also a sewage smell, especially in the bathroom. Overall, it was ok, but we would probably not stay here again.

This is an old inn but everything is clean and functioning, for the price you're comparing to bad strip mall chain hotels. The room was GIANT, we had a fire in our room and the service at breakfast is great.

We stayed here to experience Western Mass during the summer. The hotel is old and dated but very clean. A bit of an older smell. Breakfast in the main house was amazing with many choices and made hot to order. They even had gluten free pancakes! WE we would stay here again.

The property is charming. However, Cleanliness of the room came into question, after I opened the closet. There were still cloths left behind from previous guests. The bathroom is cleaned but cleaning items were left behind scattered.

Between a 3 and a 5! This is a mixed bag. Accommodation for after-hours arrival was terrific. Breakfast was a real treat! Breakfast: 5 ⭐️. Room was very basic. Small and sparsely furnished. No TV. No phone. WiFi not working. Comfortable bed. Bath also clean but very basic. Wash basin but no counter. Shower with curtain that lets water onto the floor. Room 3 ⭐️. But for one or two nights when not occupying the room much more than to sleep and wash-up, it is certainly serviceable. Would return for breakfast alone! Convenient to Lime Rock Park racetrack!

Continous traffic noise from the main road which is quite close to the residence building. No sound insulation between walls of neighbor rooms, can hear the footsteps and snoring next room. But the breakfast is very dilicious.

The breakfast room and included breakfast was lovely but I was very disappointed with my stay. In my opinion this Inn is very overpriced. My room - the cabin - while spacious, was extremely, extremely outdated. The jet tub was very old and filled with bugs. There is a huge bay window which despite blinds is impossible to keep the light out. The bed was comfy. There is a strong smell of smoke when you enter (due to the fireplace and fabrics in the room) which I am not sensitive to but some may not like.

The place was nice enough, but definitely showed it's age as an old house converted to an Inn. The room was big, and the bathroom huge, but the mattress was old and tired. There was no central AC or even a mini-split, it was a very noisy old window AC unit that barely cooled the room, but could not touch the bathroom. We had to shut the bathroom door to get any cooling in the room. I don't hate it, but would only stay in spring or fall when the temps are low.

Our lovely suite (larger than our NYC apartment) was comfortable and well-appointed and the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. its a;lso a beautiful corner of the world, with rolling, wooded hills and fine dining scattered across the countyrside.

Joe was the best part every morning at breakfast which is amazing. The room was sadly super outdated - TV but doesn't work ( you can use dvds?). The beds sadly are so uncomfortable, more like a cot. And there needs to be air condition of some kind - the fan isn't enough to make it now feel muggy - and that's in 60 degree weather outside, the room inside was more like 90. It's definitely charming but just wanted to give an honest review. It's worth it for the made to order breakfast in a beautiful old room :)

We spent one night and loved the place. It's a beautiful, stately old inn. Our room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. Lucas made us feel at home, and cooked a marvelous breakfast. We'd highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Blackberry River Inn. The breakfast was served beautifully and the service from check-in to check-out was impeccable.

The staff were great, very friendly and very accommodating. The inn was beautiful, very clean, and they had cookies, snacks and coffee in the main sitting room 24/7. When I say sitting room, that’s exactly what it was, from the outside you would never know what a gem this place really is. The breakfast was awesome, starting every morning with a bowl of fresh fruit, to waffles, pancakes, eggs and more, cooked however you like, plus you’re not limited to only ordering one thing from the menu, and it’s all included in your stay. I would recommend the Blackberry River Inn to anyone looking for a nice, cozy quiet place to stay.

BRI is a warm and welcoming historic inn between the New England villages of Norfolk and Canaan. It's easily accessible (right on Greenwoods Rd/Route 44) but still quiet. The guest rooms and common areas find the right balance between beauty and comfort--lovely furnishings, but it doesn't feel like a museum. The included breakfast--served in the sun-washed (and fully enclosed/winterized) porch area is memorable, with local maple syrup and eggs that tasted like they had come from one of the nearby farms. I especially recommend it for a stay during the holidays. The lovely decorations, lights, and poinsettias gave the inn a magical quality from a bygone era.

Continous traffic noise from the main road which is quite close to the residence building. No sound insulation between walls of neighbor rooms, can hear the footsteps and snoring next room. But the breakfast is very dilicious.

The Blackberry River Inn is a charming B & B about 45 minutes from Tanglewood. The main building, built in 1763, is beautifully decorated with an inviting dining room that offers a full cooked to order breakfast which is included in the room charge. The grounds are lovely, with a built-in swimming pool and several areas to just sit and relax on the property. Lucas and his staff do a wonderful job to make sure everyone feels welcome and to attend to any questions or needs you may have. The dining room staff for breakfast was also amazing. We stayed in the Carriage house consisting of about 6-8 rooms, with a common area with sofa, chairs, TV, refrigerator and microwave for common use. It’s a bit of a drive to get to some of the area attractions, but a lovely drive. We enjoyed our stay at Blackberry River Inn, the historic and charming feel, and found it a reasonable alternative to the pricey accommodations closer to Lenox. We will stay there again!

This is my second stay at the Carriage House of the Blackberry River Inn. My room this time was closer to the street, so I noticed more traffic sounds, but not disrupting. The main inn is quaint and welcoming. The staff are wonderful. The breakfast menu, room, and help are spectacular!

Such a cute property and staff were amazing. Old vicitorian property. Breakfast was great, and all the staff were super nice. Not within walking distance of anything, but Norfolk is less than a 5 minute drive. Would stay there again.

My stay was excellent. My room was on the 2nd floor right side, next to the window...big enough for a family of 3. This was a solo/business trip for me and the room has an excellent dining room and meeting/living room with a very nice view if you love green. I slept like a baby. Breakfast was fantastic-freakin-tastic--drop a $20 on the table for the fam. Will stay there whenever I go back up th Limerock Park. The drive to and from Limerock is a dream if u know what u doin...and ya gotta go to the pub up the road...the locals are super freaking awesome!!!

Excellent staff, very attentive! The beds were very comfortable, showers had great pressure and good hot water. Breakfast was fantastic and I would definitely stay there again if I’m in the area again! We saw a concert in town at Infinity Hall, a real treasure of a venue, plus we hiked to the top of Haystack Mountain (state park) and enjoyed the beautiful 360 views from atop the tower built on its peak. Also, we hiked to Campbell Falls state park. The concert hall and the two hikes I consider “must do’s” if you’re in the area! There’s probably a lot more attractions in the vicinity, but we were only in the area for 24 hours, so we packed in what we could!

The Inn is on a lovely piece of property with trees, grass, flowers. The bathroom was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and there was a common area "living room" that had a fridge for guests to place things and a microwave. The pool is fabulous (though it could use some more chaise lounges, there were only 2). The breakfast was truly delicious, made to order every morning. Home made chocolate chip cookies are out for the taking and there are dvds to borrow if you want to watch t.v. There is no cable or roku, so if that is important to you, you may want to bring a laptop as there is internet and you can stream your own. Campbell Falls is very very close and stunning. There is also a good winery down the street which had some lovely wines. Overall, this was a perfect getaway.

The service was impeccable: friendly, thoughtful and the best waffles ever- so light and fresh. Loved the chocolate kisses everywhere. The cookies not so much. Our stay would have been perfect had it not been for the couple in the next room frequently yelling at one another with obscene language, doors slamming, and a small yapping dog - not the hotel's fault at all.

We stayed one night on our way to Maine form Maryland. Our 1st floor room in the carriage house was cozy. Our favorite part of our stay was having breakfast in the morning room. The host served and prepared a wonderful breakfast -the fruit salad was the best ever. An improvement would be to have grab bars installed in the tub.

This place was a mixed bag. The main house was nicely decorated, with coffee, tea, cookies and cake available at all times. Breakfast was outstanding, and Joe was so gracious and amazing. Our room, however, was less than satisfactory. The room was cold, with no apparent means for heat. There was also a sewage smell, especially in the bathroom. Overall, it was ok, but we would probably not stay here again.

We stayed here to experience Western Mass during the summer. The hotel is old and dated but very clean. A bit of an older smell. Breakfast in the main house was amazing with many choices and made hot to order. They even had gluten free pancakes! WE we would stay here again.

Great place to stay for enjoying NW Connecticut activities. Friendly helpful staff, comfortable room, pool, cozy public areas/lobby. The breakfast was delicious in a sunny breakfast room and the servers very gracious about special requests. Am looking forward to future stays here.

Historic Inn with great full breakfast. Plenty of parking. Lovely old property. The couple running it were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. I took off a star because the property needs some TLC. No central air (window units) our bathroom door kept kept sticking, etc. Just generally doesn't seem like it has had any major work in a decades or two.

The inn is beautiful appointed with classic furniture and spacious grounds. Our room was very comfortable with a small sofa as well as the queen size bed. The only suggestions I would make is to add a firepit around the Adirondack chairs on the lawn and to serve fresh coffee instead of instant with the tea and cookies in the library.
