The property was extremely walkable. Staff was very pleasant. The common areas leave a bit to be desired, and the parking was TIGHT. I would stay here again because the price point was amazing for the area, but I would definitely rent a much smaller car.

Nicely done renovation with spacious rooms, comfortable bed and a kitchenette that had the basics for meal prep. They even had a full pitcher of water and full ice trays in the refrig when you arrive. Web site did not mention but they have beach towels to borrow and a couple of Hawaiin culture classes (ukelele lessons and koko lei making). This place is a bargain and easy walk to beach, shopping and restaurants.

Staff very friendly. Location is a tad removed from the beach but still very convenient. Free parking is great, although spaces are limited and quite tight. Pool is a bit small. Free newspapers is a nice touch.

It's my third stay at the Ilima and hopefully not my last. I love that its adjacent to the Ala Wai so i have great views while still being close to the beach at such an amazing price. I missed the free lei making class this trip but the ukulele lesson more than made up for that!

This is a older hotel a little off the beating path, but close to everything you want to do. Room was very large, bathroom very small though. We were in room 902 and it has a nice view of the mountains. Amenities are lacking only has a pool no hot tub. But the free parking makes up for it and the small kitchen to be able to cook if you choose to. Room service everyday was very nice. Very noisy though, heard garbage man in the early morning and Ambulance and fire trucks everyday. But being off the beating path of hotel row it was fine. Money well spent. I'm not one for spending a lot of money on a hotel room that all you do in it is sleep and take a shower so staying here was great.

I like this hotel because the staff is very welcoming, The rooms are kept clean and each has a full size refridgerator which comes in handy as well as a cook top and microwave and pots, dishes, cutlery, etc to use. The parking, while limited in number, is free which is a big plus. Not on the beach means that it is a little quieter which is also a plus.

We enjoyed our 8th floor room facing the Ala Wai canal with mountain views. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated and it was very convenient to have the kichenette for making breakfast. Parking is on availability only, so one night we got back late and I had to pay to park at another nearby parking garage.

The hotel was very nice. Bed was comfortable and enough closet space to fit alll your clothing. They do have a laundry facility for $5 a load and $5 to dry. Detergent is $1 at the front desk. The refrigerator is large enough to hold enough food for your stay. We were able to make breakfast since the hotel does prove pans. Loved that Kona coffee was just down the street along with target. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is old , maintained , clean, well managed , staff are nice , helpful , free but limited parking ( get back before 7pm if on road trip ) . Did not like the surprise amenity fee at the front desk when checking in , would have prefer to know up front when booking with expedia.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. The A/C didn’t seem to work well this trip. While sitting on patio noticed unit is rusted. Toilet ran and handle broke off. Refrigerator leaked.

Hotel was very clean and convenient place to stay in Waikiki. Very easy to walk everywhere and with free parking, having a rental car for excursions was no issue. Large rooms allow for different guest setups- like accommodating teenagers or families. We had a beautiful view of the canal from our balcony. We really liked being a block or two away from the crowded areas of Waikiki so we could enter it when we wanted rather than being on top of it at a beachfront hotel. This is a really great option for Waikiki!

The hotel was a little older, but they did a great job renovating it, and the room was extremely clean. The staff was kind and helpful, and they came to clean our rooms daily. The free parking was a great perk as well! The area was super walkable, with tons of restaurants right down the street, a walking path along the river, and Waikiki beach was less than a 10 minute walk. Overall, it was a great value for the price, and I would stay again!

Large rooms with good Ac. Rooms are renovated and clean. Bathroom still needs to be upgraded though but it’s clean. Staff are efficient and friendly. It is near Waikiki Beach so there’s some traffic noise and you can hear music till about 9pm from your room (relevant if you have small kids with an early bedtime). Parking can be tight but we always found a spot each night. I would stay here again.

For the price it was surprising there are never any bellmen available to help with baggage especially traveling with a large family.You are charged a premium then expects to also do the bellman work yourself. The building is very old. But it’s clear it had some minor renovations. The housekeeping staff is kind but ask too many personal questions instead of focusing on their job. The fire alarm tests were annoying and lasted hours. The hotel staff just burst into our room and held the door open with no regard to our privacy. The location is premium as it’s conveniently located next to everything. But the property and the rooms itself is not a good value for the price. Parking is very difficult in that area. The building is very old. The bathtub was disgusting. There’s no amount of cleaning that makes it appear clean. The staff is kind but so laid back that you have to wait until they are willing to get to you and help you with what you need.

I wanted to give a good rating since there aren’t many accommodations with kitchens available, but I can’t give a high score for cleanliness because I spotted cockroaches twice, which I haven’t seen in a hotel in a long time. The building is overall quite old, and while parking is free, it is very limited with small parking spots. After 8 p.m., it’s hard to find a spot, so you may have to find a paid parking lot nearby. This wasn't a big issue for me, but I thought it might be helpful to mention for others considering this accommodation.

Older property, but spotlessly clean, and well maintained. Our room was very large with a fully equipped kitchen and full-size fridge, microwave, and cooktop. Dining table and chairs. Beds were comfortable and linens were spotless. Bathtub was older, but spotlessly clean. Staff were super friendly and willing to help in any way they could. Lots of restaurants and shopping just a few steps from the hotel and Waikiki beach only 15min walk. We really enjoyed our stay and are already talking about a return trip.

Large comfortable rooms with a kitchen area, dining table, easy chairs, large closet with lots of hangers, a safe and a laundry basket. Good sized balcony with two chairs and a small table for relaxing. Good black out curtains against the bright early morning sun. Two luggage racks! Hurray.

We exited a cruise ship at 8 am and, since it was too early to check in, the front desk person let us leave our luggage there while we spent the day at the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center). When we returned, they happily gave us extra coffee packets for our room to use the next morning. The room was huge compared to so many of today's hotels! There were only two of us, but it would be great for a family, with kitchen, dining table, and extra space for everyone. It wasn't a brand new hotel, but it was clean and neat and a good price in a nice area of the city.

Despite the new renovations, hotel is still pretty outdated. However still giving them good ratings for location, staff, and free parking within the hotel worked out for us 3 of the 4 nights. Only one of the nights did we have to pay for parking right across the street. Super easy walking distance to everything in Waikiki.

I loved the rooms were large & included a kitchenette. One night parking lot was full & had to pay for parking elsewhere nearby but this is about the only place I know of that includes parking (first come first serve basis). Easy walk to downtown area & Waikiki beach. I would stay there again.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. The A/C didn’t seem to work well this trip. While sitting on patio noticed unit is rusted. Toilet ran and handle broke off. Refrigerator leaked.

Staff was friendly and helpful. An oversight on our part put us in a room other than expected, but Emi had us moved the next day. (Be sure to enter under "Requests" when booking.) Room was spacious and very clean. Parking was free (a big plus). Although space is limited, we were always able to get a spot. Overall lovely place to spend a couple of weeks.

We stayed at the Ilima for 7 days in August and had a great experience. Though we arrived later than expected, the staff was very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious—much larger than many of today’s hotels—providing plenty of room for our family of 4 and all our luggage. While the Ilima isn’t a brand-new hotel, it was clean, neat, and offered a good price in a nice part of the city. The only noise we noticed at night came from the bar next door, but it didn’t bother us. Our only challenge was finding a parking spot in the garage for our rented 4Runner, so we made sure to return by 6 pm to secure a perfect spot. We would definitely stay here again—next time with a smaller car! 😊

Hotel was in a great location, minutes from the beach; rooms were spacious and clean; staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking garage was under construction so free on-site parking was limited, but there were lots of other free and paid options nearby.

For the price it was surprising there are never any bellmen available to help with baggage especially traveling with a large family.You are charged a premium then expects to also do the bellman work yourself. The building is very old. But it’s clear it had some minor renovations. The housekeeping staff is kind but ask too many personal questions instead of focusing on their job. The fire alarm tests were annoying and lasted hours. The hotel staff just burst into our room and held the door open with no regard to our privacy. The location is premium as it’s conveniently located next to everything. But the property and the rooms itself is not a good value for the price. Parking is very difficult in that area. The building is very old. The bathtub was disgusting. There’s no amount of cleaning that makes it appear clean. The staff is kind but so laid back that you have to wait until they are willing to get to you and help you with what you need.

Older property, but spotlessly clean, and well maintained. Our room was very large with a fully equipped kitchen and full-size fridge, microwave, and cooktop. Dining table and chairs. Beds were comfortable and linens were spotless. Bathtub was older, but spotlessly clean. Staff were super friendly and willing to help in any way they could. Lots of restaurants and shopping just a few steps from the hotel and Waikiki beach only 15min walk. We really enjoyed our stay and are already talking about a return trip.

I received excellent customer service. When my flight was cancelled and I arrived at 7am, I explained the situation, and the hotel graciously allowed me to check in immediately. After spending the night at the airport, this gesture truly made my day. They even upgraded my accommodations!

Hotel was very clean and convenient place to stay in Waikiki. Very easy to walk everywhere and with free parking, having a rental car for excursions was no issue. Large rooms allow for different guest setups- like accommodating teenagers or families. We had a beautiful view of the canal from our balcony. We really liked being a block or two away from the crowded areas of Waikiki so we could enter it when we wanted rather than being on top of it at a beachfront hotel. This is a really great option for Waikiki!

The property was extremely walkable. Staff was very pleasant. The common areas leave a bit to be desired, and the parking was TIGHT. I would stay here again because the price point was amazing for the area, but I would definitely rent a much smaller car.

I loved the staff at this hotel, they were always helpful and friendly. My stay was comfortable and I loved the room I was in, unfortunately with the window type in the room I was able to hear loud music and voices from the place next door, it often lasted until 1:30 am which disrupted my sleep significantly and that affected how I felt each day during my trip. I would have loved more peaceful sleep but I do understand being in the middle of a busy city as well.

A basic hotel with friendly staff and clean facilities. The only downside was that our room was on the corner above a very noisy bar which was open until 2am every night. It kept us awake.

Good location with reasonable price. Two room suite was great for three generation travel. Well-equipped kitchenette. Excellent housekeeping. Friendly staff. Only thing that we are not happy about was old fashioned jalousie windows which was not adequate to block noise from nearby bars. They are reasonably quite at the late hours, so did not bother me much after all activities in daytime, however, some of my family needed ear plugs for better sleep. Room temperature was okay by A/C in every room, but I am sure those windows are leaky.

We enjoyed our stay. The unit was great for our family of 6. Lots of space just found the furniture in the hotel and in the rooms to be a little outdated. The hotel is conveniently located to the beach, shopping and plenty of restaurants. For what we needed for our family of 6 prior to our cruise. This was perfect for the price.

We had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the canal, golf course and mountain which was so much better than our last stay with a city view ( which has the sun on the balcony all afternoon and very hot). The staff were fantastic and the location was very handy to the beach and public transport.

The hotel was simple and clean, and the rooms were spacious. The problems were that there was no restaurant, or even snack shop, at the hotel, and there was often loud noise from the motel next door. There was also no option to check out a few hours late (especially when you have a late-night flight, and checkout is noon). The staff was friendly and helpful, within hotel constraints.

The hotel was very nice. Bed was comfortable and enough closet space to fit alll your clothing. They do have a laundry facility for $5 a load and $5 to dry. Detergent is $1 at the front desk. The refrigerator is large enough to hold enough food for your stay. We were able to make breakfast since the hotel does prove pans. Loved that Kona coffee was just down the street along with target. Will definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed staying here and would stay again. It is an older building but freshly renovated. The rooms are spacious. It is right in the middle of town and a very short walk to the main beach. There is a coil laundry with good machines and free parking.

I had a great time at the Ilima Hotel. I was close to so many places around the hotel. The staff were really nice, my room was clean and so was the kitchen. I had a rental so parking was a breeze so I can come and go to explore the island. Thank you for a good experience
