I stay at the pacific monarch fr the roof top pool which was under repair that was disappointing but undetandable

Was happy with the room. I was disappointed that we made sure to switch hotels when we booked because we wanted a pool. Upon arrival we find out the pool is closed. We then wanted to extend our stay and we were told the manager would call us back but never did. Overall the hotel and room are great.

Awesome for the price and next to everything. Very convenient and close to bus stop which takes you to the airport. Love the roof with the hot top and it stays open until 10:00pm!!!

Love amenities - rooftop pool, jacuzzi, grill and games! The lounge was awesome with the pool table! In sauna is amazing too!

The balcony was very small so you couldn’t really sit out there but it had a nice view. The room was a bit worn & dated but comfortable and clean. Loved the rooftop pool & hot tub; good location also! Parking was convenient & not as expensive as other places.

Good property for the price, location. Has a pool and hot tub. Self parking is on premise which is nice but note, it is not part of the hotel and costs 30$ which is actually a good price and you can get to your floor from the garage. Overall very satisfied!

Overall liked my stay. Disappointed that the pool was not ready as indicated. Told we could use the pool next door but was looking forward to the rooftop views. It wasn’t ready when we checked out.

Hotel and Amenities are great. Staff is excellent. Pool and hut tub on top floor is great place for sunset. Sauna over looking Diamond head is some thing you must experience, hard to find but follow sign on roof top floor. One A/C unit for two rooms is hard to regulate temperature in second room.

Close to the beach cleanliness pool could use some cleaning

Pool was dirty the shower for the pool was broken and jacuzzi was dirty

A king size bed ocean view suite was spacious, nice view, convenient location, but a huge cockroach was found in the kitchen twice and small ones shown a couple of times during my stay. After pest control sprayed they’re gone though. Other than that this hotel is very good value for money!

It’s location is perfect. The hotel needs to be updated, the carpet is so old and looks dirty.

Beach chairs were actually camping chairs and in poor condition and with rips on fabric; the room was not cleaned well prior to arrival with hair on the bathroom floor and greasy cabinet knobs in the kitchenette and sticky eating table.

The location of Pacific Monarch is incredibly convenient to shops, food, surfboard rentals and the surf. Having parking onsite at $30/night is a bargain and the use of the hospitality suite post checkout was a huge bonus. We stayed in 1 bedroom, hotel unit (not a condo) with an incredible view and a large lanai which was another bonus. Our room was clean but dated and a tad tired in condition (e.g. towels racks broken, stuck toilet handle). We had our room cleaned once during our stay. We really just needed the rooms vacuumed of the sand and towels swapped out but the cleaning was superficial and the sand remained. We would stay again at Pacific Monarch but maybe seek out a renovated condo in the building instead.

This hotel is a joke!!! Housekeeping every three days! And they are quick to charge you for 'amenities', which they do not give you. Toiletries were not readily available when needed, i had to call the front desk to get them & they had the nerve to say that they do not provide that. The tv didnt work. The hallways are pretty dirty & smelly. Oh and not to memtion parking! They have lots of rules when parking in their garage! If you do not pay with the exact amount, the machine will not give you change. And its very rowdy as well. I heard ruckus all night long everyday i stayed there. I heard a couple guest complained & the response the frontdesk gave her is that it was not their problem. All they showed is thst they are quick to take ypur money but not to give you the service you payed for. It's a pretty rinky dinky hotel.

Staff was friendly and it was well kept/clean. The rooms were not very good though, no TV or AC in the bedroom, the pullout couch was very worn and uncomfortable.

Had a bad 2 nights at this hotel. There are slated windows in every room (apparently) that just let all the noise of Waikiki right into your bedroom. Made it hard to sleep. Also the mattress was completely caved in and caused my husband and I to roll into each other. Management offered no help or solutions.

A little bit noisy at night. You could hear sirens and trucks. There is a construction nearby going on for awhile due to a construction of a new hotel.

Had a great stay at this hotel just 2 blocks from the beach. We ended up with a corner room with a partial ocean and sunset and sunrise views. The view from the rooftop pool is great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel does not have central air and city location means it can be noisy. Rooms are showing their age but everything was in order.

great room we were on the 28th floor facing the ocean. nice large patio and table and chairs outside. full kitchen with all utencils plates silverware ect. microwave fridge coffee pot hot water pot strainer and bowls even pots and pans if you want to cook in room. very close to beach just a block and a half your on the beach lots of resturants and food trucks around and a bunch of shopping. staff is fast and freindly

The location is amazing however the rooms are dated and some amount of road noise and the noise from the air conditioner is terrible.

Family Stay at Pacific Monarch – A Mixed Experience This Time We’ve stayed at the Pacific Monarch over a dozen times, and it’s usually our go-to spot for family trips to Waikiki. The location is ideal, and we’ve had many great experiences in the past, which is why we keep coming back. This time, however, our stay was a bit of a mixed bag. We rented two rooms for our family, and while one of them was a delight—spacious, cool, and very comfortable—the other left much to be desired. The first room felt overstuffed with oversized furniture that didn’t fit the space well, making it cramped and awkward to move around in. The air conditioning unit was oddly tucked away inside a closet, which made it nearly useless in keeping the room cool. It was uncomfortably warm throughout our stay. Had we needed to use the hide-a-bed, it would have been a logistical nightmare. The only way to make space for it would have been to move the dining table out onto the patio, which clearly wasn’t a practical solution. Thankfully, the second room more than made up for it. It was ten times cooler, better laid out, and much more comfortable for our family to relax in. We still love Pacific Monarch for its location and have had many good stays here, but this experience reminded us that room quality can vary quite a bit. If you’re traveling with family, it might be worth calling ahead to request a room with a better layout and functioning A/C.

Overall a nice stay. Friendly staffs, convenient location. The room was quite outdated though. The first room we checked in got broken air conditioner and broken faucet. The furnitures were very old and space inefficient for such a small room. House keeping every three days.

Pacific Monarch is a convenient spot, close to Waikiki Beach. Our room was quite small, the kitchenette was tiny, but it was good enough for two people. If you are facing Diamond Head, you are facing south, which means the room will be cooking (even with AC) unless you draw the curtains. The staff at reception were super friendly and helpful. True Aloha spirit.

I have stayed here year after year and every time I go to checkin it’s an absolute nightmare. This yeah I was moved 3 times (3 different rooms). I said I needed a full size room which is what I booked on Expedia, when I said this I was told I needed to upgrade and spend more for my 9 night stay, this on top of what I had already spent. No discount was offered for putting me in a room overlooking construction (loud noise) and an out of older pool. Asked to speak to manager Christina and she was always unavailable. For what I paid, I deserved better.

Front desk employees were extremely rude and not helpful. I also believe they double charged me on the room hold and never paid me back for it. Truly unacceptable

This was our 15 annual Hawaii trip, but the first stay at Pacific Monarch. This place is amazing! The staff is easily the friendliest we’ve ever have! It’s safe to say we found our hotel for future visits and can’t wait to get back here!

great place to stay a bit out dated our tv didnt work, but the staff was great from house keeping to management. Especially Christina the maneger she was very plasent and helpful. We had a problem with the parking, our car was towed unfairly. Christina took care of everything. You dont see that kind of service much anymore. Big thumbs up for the staff....they make that place a vacation.

Terrible service trying to interact with this property. I was charged by them even though I never set foot on this property. When I called I was told multiple different stories by different parties which passed blame instead of refunding me for a trip I did not make. Even hotels.com tried to help and the property refused.

The Pacific Monarch hotel is great! It's close to EVERYTHING. You're a block and 1/2 away from the beach. Take your pick on all the shopping. It;s SO close by! And, the Ala Moana Shopping mall is a quick bus ride away. Don't want to go to the beach? Pacific Monarch has a rooftop pool, hot tub and a sauna! along with a game area! Again, all of this is on the rooftop. The room we had an incredible view of the ocean and the mountains. The Pacific Monarch is a great choice to stay for you and your family. I'd definitely stay there again.

Very nice property only one block in from Waikiki on Kuhio St. easy walk to the beach and still a great combo view of ocean, city and mountains. Great private lanai. Staff was very nice at the front desk. It’s an older building but updated and clean. Would definitely stay again

Location, close walk to beach, restaurants, shopping, ease of parking. Superb view, easy to get in & out of hotel, 30th floor club level, 31st pool level, amazing views from each, loved kitchenette. Everything was great. We had no problems. We’ll go back!

Great find, five minutes walk to Waikiki Beach.

Great location walkable to Waikiki, stunning rooftop pool views, easy to take Uber to Diamond Head or Pearl, many walkable places to eat. Heads-up: the property area feels dirty and crowded with many homeless, so just pay attention to your surroundings. The room was comfortable and very large with enough of kitchenette to make food if needed to budget.

Great location, very smooth check in/out. My room was a bit noisy esp at night which I think is expected while in the middle of convenient downtown.

Really great hotel at a location very close to the beach and a quick Uber ride from most parts around Honolulu! It's <15 minutes to go to Diamond Head, which was really surprising to be able to do a quick hike!

Perfect location!

Felt safe & secure in building and surrounding area. Beach less than 2 blocks away, tons of shopping & places eat! Kitchen-ette was perfect for our week stay. Everything was there that we needed. Building is dated, shows wear and attempts to beautify. Not al all bad for the price, with balcony. Would stay there again!

Very convenient in the middle of Waikiki, close to the beach, markets, restaurants, bars and everything else that matters.

Enjoyed our one week stay. Excellent service, great location, close to shops and eating places. Kitchenette is handy for breakfast and simple meals. Would definitely recommend to others.

2 min. Walk to Waikiki beach and tons of dining options. I also liked the lemon water in the lobby. Very refreshing.

Great location with kitchenette. Walk to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. 4th stay here and will only stay here in Waikiki.

This was not an upscale fancy hotel but a very nice, safe and functional place. My granddaughter and I enjoy the room with a kitchenette, a sitting area, table and double beds. She immensely enjoyed the pool and hot tub. There was a sauna, which I didn’t use, and snack machines. It was only about a five minute walk to the beach and the hotel had chairs you can borrow, beach towels, and they even had a pump to inflate my floaty’s. They also had lemon water available in the lobby at all times. The only downside that I can think of was that you can hear the street noise during the night, but I didn’t find that unbearable. Also, sometimes it took a while for the elevators to arrive if you were going from the lobby to the rooftop pool. But I’d definitely stay there again.

Perfect location in the heart of Waikiki. Two minute or less walk to the beach. Clean hotel with a friendly and attentive staff. Spacious rooms with everything you need. Has a kitchen with all the basic necessities for making meals. There are grills to cookout and seating available on the roof top near the pool. Towels and beach chairs available with the resort fee.
