We were pleasantly surprised how nice the room was. We basically had views from our front door to our balcony. The location is far enough from Waikīkī it’s not caught up in the crowds and close enough for us to walk to. This hotel does not have a pool, but with all the beaches around I don’t think we missed it. We did have a rental car and that made getting around the island. If you want to just stay in Honolulu you can get by without a car. Definitely will stay here again.

Basically an older hotel that was renovated maybe 5 years ago. The beach in front was small and overcrowded. No pool!! The location wasn’t great either. Stay in Waikiki beach area, you will be happier as much more around and nicer beach. The staff were incredibly nice though

Nice room, good location…. The elevator was very slow and difficult to get when you needed it the most …there’s really no social vibe here no lounge that has any kind of a beach feel to it.

Staff was super friendly and the location was good as it was a bit further away from the busy Waikiki center. What I didn’t like was the resort fee which enabled you to receive certain things like beach bikes and chairs but of which I was never informed of. I was just told that there would be a fee which sounded like a standard fee to me. They charge this fee per day regardless of usage.

Not much to look at from the outside, but once you enter you know its a nice place. Clean and smells nice. The staff is crazy nice and accommodating. The cold towel while waiting was refreshing. I have zero complaints. Parking is $50 and I felt guilty about not tipping the valet.

Amazing property with amazing staff! Great beaches just steps away. Amazing restaurants 10 min walking or 5 minutes with the bikes provided free of charge through the hotel. Would definitely recommend staying here! Short walk to everything Waikiki has to offer!

The people working at the hotel were very friendly and available. They answered our questions and were available to loan us beach chairs, towels, good restaruants, and advice. The hotel was convenient for beaches, and places to eat. We were able to walk to both. The hotel gave us two free small gifts of snacks.

Although the hotel website stated that self parking option was available, when we checked in,the parking attendant said only valet parking was all. The first room we were assigned smelled like a dirty locker room. The bathroom couiwas cracked and there holes in the upholstered chair. We were allowed to switch to another room which was tolerably less smelly. It seemed like the linens smelled of body odor. The bathroom sink drain smelled and the bathroom sink had a small crack. The restaurant in the hotel is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The hotel staff did not allow us a late check out of an hour and a half. That’s fine but they started badgering us 2 minutes after checkout time just as we were getting ready to leave. It take a while to get down to the lobby since they only have one small elevator which is shared by the maintenance staff.

Quiet location. Had to walk or Uber to excursion pick ups. Walking was about 25 to 20 minutes to get there so quite removed from weikei strip. Restaurant in hotel very limited menu and opening time so had to Uber or walk to all meals even breakfast. The mattress in hotel needed to be changed out. It is hard old and sagging my husband s back was feeling it. Very clean and attentive staff. Bathroom fan not working and still didn't work after they told us maintenance had worked on it. Nicely decorated but room smelled a bit musty. I went and bought air freshener which helped but lobby was lovely. If you want to be close to strip beach amenies of c restaurants and shops i wouldn't stay here but if you want to get away from business of strip and have quiet its fine.

Ok hotel. The staff was nice, but seemed to have no idea what they were doing. They forgot welcome drinks and our wine. They seemed to fumble over what to do next. The views were great! The hotel was not as clean as i expected. The 1 elevator sucked. Sometimes it took a while to come to you

We were very disappointed. When checking in we were actually downgraded from the king bed room that had been arranged to a room with two double beds. The next day we were moved to a king bed room but were required to check out by noon and not allowed to check back in until 4;00 PM, so we did not have a room the afternoon of the second day even though we had paid for a six night continuous stay, very disruptive to our plans. The staff was quite unsympathetic. When we checked out we wished to discuss our disappointment with a manager who was not available and we never received a call or email from management despite a promise from front desk staff that "Brandon" would contact us. The so called VIP upgrade was a bottle of wine and two glasses of juice. The hotel is old and worn out. The room smelled like mold. Very few dining options in the area. Restaurant at the hotel is expensive and only open for dinner. We recommend avoiding this tired, smelly, rude hotel.

Overall felt a bit old, my refrigerator was leaking, and the bathroom floor could have been a bit cleaner. Did not get the potential Hotels.com Gold-Status room upgrade but room was still ok. They have hotel bicycles for free which is nice in theory, however I would have needed one at 6.15 but they only give them starting from 7am. They do not offer breakfast. Location is Ok to walk to Waikiki beach, easy 15min walk and a bit quieter area. Parking is 40usd per day, if you‘re lucky you can get free parking at the street in front of the hotel.

They charge a high resort fee to not even have a pool. Also a 40 dollar valet that has limited hours, if you plan on eating there look at the menu first. Room was outdated and not how it looked on the website. Very mid place, not all ocean views are the same, I got a high floor ocean view and was placed on a corner that had another hotel in the middle of the view.

I was disappointed by this hotel. It felt more like a 3 star hotel. The location is great - its away from the craziness of Waikiki but just a short walk through the beach park to get to all the restautants and shops. However, the hotel itself looks more rundown. The room was spacious and clean, but with views of a parking lot and a sliver of the ocean through buildings. No one assisted us upon arrival or checkout with our luggage. In fact, we ended up finding a cart that was sitting around and just loading it up oursleves. It took 20 minutes to checkout because the person at the desk was talking on the phone with a potential guest - apparently something that mattered more than the guests who are already staying there. This hotel was definitely not worth the cost of the stay, and I will not be returning.

The nearby beach access was good. Staff is friendly and it’s clean. But paying extra for “ocean view” is not worth it. There’s another building in the way and every room basically can see a sliver of the ocean without the extra cost.

Everything was just perfect. I didn't expect to get such a beautiful room. My husband and I stayed in room 721 and we absolutely loved it! I even thought about purchasing their soft bathrobes. The room is spacious and it has 2 balconies with amazing views. I would definitely come back there again. Their staff is friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 9 nights and have pretty extensive travel experience domestically and internationally. The pros of the location: quieter, Diamonhead, the park across the street, most of the staff, Arden the restaurant. The cons for us: didnt get the requested connected rooms and didn't find out until we checked in at 10pm, breakfast for sale isnt always available, views are limited or obstructed, not all the staff is customer focused, our room was worn out and needed new rug, unstained furniture, restaurant wasn't open every night so had to go to other places if you wanted a cocktail or food, parking is not free, NO pool.

The valet staff were excellent and very friendly! I couldn't say the same about the front desk. We had an issue of being over charged that took about 3-4 months to finally get resolved. That was disappointing. The manager gave us the run around. It's a nice location and close to Waikiki. It's a reasonable price point.

We had a great stay at the Lotus at Diamondhead the first week of October. Very convenient to check out beach chairs and towels at the front desk. The elevator was a bit slow but the staff was excellent. Our room was well kept every day. Great view of Diamondhead from our balcony. We would stay again and recommend to others.

Great location and service. Anne at the front desk was amazing. We arrived early and the were able to check us in early. Mahalo to the staff and this is a wonderful hotel for our overnight trip.

I regret to say that my experience with this hotel was disappointing. I had informed them in advance that I would be checking in late, but it seems my room was given away, assuming I wouldn\'t arrive. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk for about 30 minutes. Despite calling and knocking on the door, I received no response. After a long flight, this was incredibly frustrating. When the front desk clerk finally arrived, he seemed to blame me for the delay and was quite rude. He even threw the check-in paperwork at me and made a comment about “Californians being so impatient,” which felt unfair, considering I had waited at the front desk for half an hour. At one point, the clerk leaned in as if he wanted to fight, which was both intimidating and unprofessional. I have this moment recorded on video. To make matters worse, the room I had originally reserved wasn’t available. Despite booking online and completing pre-check-in the day before, they offered what they called an "upgrade"—a room with two queen beds, which was far from ideal for my wife and me, especially since we were celebrating our honeymoon. The clerk\'s attitude was dismissive, and he suggested I speak to the owner the next day if I had issues. We ended up taking the room with two beds and had to sleep separately on our honeymoon. Although the rest of the stay was fine, I noticed a hold on my card for seven days after checking out and have yet to receive a response to my email inquiry.

Our stay at this boutique hotel was fantastic from the moment we arrived. We felt like we were family visiting other family! Every time we left, we were sent off to have a great day. Every time we returned, we were greeted as if just getting home. I mentioned the last night I was alone, and would be checking out by myself. What a sweet surprise. It was to have the bellman Call me in the morning and ask what assistance I would like for my checkout. I can't imagine coming to Waikiki and staying Anywhere but this lovely hotel.

The property is situated a walk away from the main part of Waikiki which made the area much quieter yet still easily accessible. The views of Diamond Head from the balcony were beautiful. We could also see the water even though it wasn’t direct ocean front. We had free use of beach chairs and bikes which we utilized. Just a 5 minute drive to the base of Diamond Head gave us a fantastic view of the sunrise that even small tour buses seemed to use but there was plenty of room for everyone. A special shout out to Yoobi and Cody who were a pleasure to talk with and imparted some impactful tips on places to go and try for local cuisine. There is a restaurant on site but we never took advantage so I can’t review. We will definitely book our next stay here when we return to Oahu. As a side note, you must try Leonard’s malasadas. Even though the lineup is long, it moves quickly and they were warm, fresh and delicious!

The Lotus is located at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki beach. It has a more laid back vibe than the fancier hotels at the other end. The staff was great. The views from the rooms were spectacular looking at the ocean and the mountain. Nice to have a balcony. The hotel has old world charm but it’s not fancy. There is only one elevator but there are only 5 rooms on each floor so it was not a problem. The room was comfortable and modern enough. No breakfast available which would have been nice to have. We walked about 15 minutes to a breakfast restaurant. The beach is crowded on the weekend but we enjoyed watching all the activity. We’d stay here again.

The Lotus at Diamond Head is absolutely wonderful. It’s at a premium location with spectacular views of Diamond Head and the ocean. It’s in a lovely area with a quiet neighborhood close to parks, aquarium and the zoo. Walking distance to Waikiki strip and local cafes and shopping make it convenient and away from all of the busy traffic. Most importantly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is a five star rating for recommendations and accommodation to their guests. I will definitely book my next stay with them again.

Very comfortable stay with no issues at all. Friendly staff and at a low key hotel in a convenient location--could walk to Diamond Head--and the public beach next door was perfect. So glad we kept our distance from the big and crowded hotels at Waikiki.

This property is old with no services available..oh wait, there is “valet parking” which is surely not needed and absurd at $40.00 a night PLUS a $38.00 “amenity fee” when there are literally NO amenities..even the restaurant wasn’t open on Monday- Tuesday. I would really like to know what this is for. Would never recommend this place.

The hotel lobby was gorgeous, very friendly staff. My room was beautiful, with a pretty view of the ocean. There is only one restaurant that offers dinner only.

This is a great hotel on the east (quieter) side of Waikiki beach, with majestic views of both the ocean and Diamond Head. The staff are great and rooms are clean and spacious. As a nice touch you get bath robes and slippers too to enjoy while you chill out in the room or relax on the balcony. They also have a fantastic award winning restaurant which serves the most amazing fine dining experience. Would highly recommended

Lotus Honolulu's location offers a balance between being within a few minutes of all that Waikiki has to offer and a quiet haven near the zoo and next to Diamond Head. The hotel restaurant, tbd, was a real find, with delicious small plates, perfect for sharing. Staff throughout are friendly and welcoming.

The room was fairly expensive at an ocean view corner. However, if I had a better ocean view and not a view of the rooftop of parking lots, I would have liked the view a lot better. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. The TV service had Fox, but not MSNBC. And I hate Fox. In general, the front desk was unresponsive however, the valet service was quite good. It should also be noted that the restaurant on site has limited hours and days and one cannot get any breakfast foods or snacks on site at this hotel. We stayed for 9 nights and have pretty extensive travel experience domestically and internationally. The pros of the location: quieter, Diamonhead, the park across the street, most of the staff, Arden the restaurant. The cons for us: didnt get the requested connected rooms and didn't find out until we checked in at 10pm, breakfast for sale isnt always available, views are limited or obstructed, not all the staff is customer focused, our room was worn out and needed new rug, unstained furniture, restaurant wasn't open every night so had to go to other places if you wanted a cocktail or food, parking is not free, NO pool.

What was very nice was an excellent restaurant(Arden's) on the 2nd level. Staff did not rush us at all and a quiet ambient environment off the beaten path and bustling of Kalakaua & Waikiki. We stumbled on Arden's when the maître d' offered to take our picture in the lobby. She invited us upstairs and we were blessed with a waiter/server(Jeff) extraordinaire. And the rest is history. A hidden jem of a restaurant steps from our room after a wonderful day of fresh air and Hawaiian sun! Thank you!
