We booked the penthouse hoping for more space for our family, and unfortunately it was one of our most disappointing hotel stays in Hawai’i thus far. Arrival set the tone. Valet was hard to access with a larger vehicle, and the drivers didn't go out of their way to help. Check-in is self-service, so we never really spoke to anyone, and no one offered a hand even though my arms were full while I was trying to get through the process. The lobby is very small with barely any amenities, and the whole building felt like an older hotel that had been cheaply renovated. Even booking a penthouse suite, the room was small. The balcony and bathroom were mediocre, there was no full-length mirror, and there was no in-room phone to call the front desk if you had a problem. The bed was a spring mattress, so my family and I were bouncing every time someone moved. Worst of all, the split AC units buzzed and hummed all night and kept us awake. It was honestly the worst night's sleep we've had in a hotel. Period. The pool is more like an oversized jacuzzi with no seating, so we skipped it completely, and my kids were disappointed. Check-out was just as unaccommodating, and the staff were short and unhelpful. To be fair, the pillows were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, cleanliness was fine, and the location in the middle of town was convenient. I wouldn't stay here again. If you want cheap just to sleep this is the place for you.

Overall, this was a great stay. We were here for a week, and I would happily stay again. What I loved: the beach gear available to guests, the pool was the perfect temperature, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, the activities they offered A few suggestions: * Room info: It would be helpful to have a copy of the QR code you scan at check-in available in the rooms. * Housekeeping: We had room service every day, but I had to ask twice for more washcloths and twice for a replacement floor mat. These are quick fixes, but it’s frustrating when you’re ready to shower right away. * Contacting the front desk: There’s a number you can text for help, but no phone in the room to call. A room phone would make it easier to get help quickly. * Breakfast: As someone who doesn’t eat pork, I was only able to have the meat protein at breakfast one day out of my seven-day stay. More variety for guests who don’t eat pork would be a great addition. Other than these small things, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely come back!

AC was not well maintained, and was struggling to keep the room temperature ideal. Breakfast was ok but not amazing. Slow Internet and therefore TV was refreshing and loading several times while watching a movie.
